"While walking around Florence , have you noticed something different about some of the street signs? Clet Abraham is a French artist who stealthily alters traffic signs with graphic stickers that transform a DEAD END signinto a crucifix or a ONE WAY arrow into Pinocchio's nose. In the artist's jumbled studio in San Niccolò, you can learna bit abouthis processand purchase a sign of your own. If the original works are too pricey, there are also vinyl stickers and T-shirts bearing his whimsical designs."

Amazing and fun souvenir shop with some great items reflecting the characteristic modified street signs found over Florence.

Small store with stickers, magnets, and tee shirts. Not a studio where you see a lot of the artists work. I love the street art by Clet but this visit will probably take you 15 minutes at most if you’re slow to make a decision about which sticker to purchase.

I love to discover the artist’s work on the streets of Florence. This is so unique. At the store you can buy some stickers, really cheap, 1€, real size traffic signs on canvas I think (over 200€), T-shirts. Need more apparel with the signs!!!!

I was deeply disturbed to encounter imagery in the studio that clearly crossed a line from political commentary into antisemitism. Some artworks incorporate Jewish symbols in ways that feel offensive, stereotypical, and deliberately provocative — not as critique, but as mockery. This is not just controversial art — it’s a misuse of religious and cultural identity that promotes harmful narratives. Art can and should challenge us, but when it veers into hate or prejudice — especially targeting Jewish identity — it becomes unacceptable. I believe this aspect of the studio deserves to be acknowledged and critically examined. For those sensitive to issues of racism, antisemitism, and cultural insensitivity, I would strongly recommend reconsidering a visit to this space.

We spotted our first Clet art in Rome, then learned about his prolific work as we explored the streets of Florence. The harmony he has struck with the city to continue his creativity while not distrusting the primary intent of the signs is so neat. No doubt you would have seen at least one of his pieces after walking around for less than 10 minutes. If you're a fan, stopping by to support his art is a no-brainer.

Cool shop. Aloof artist. (Aren’t they all !) I first noticed the signs in Paris. More prolific in Florence. Sharp street art. I bought the playing cards….

Clet is renowned for his street art on road signs - don't miss the shop! I've been there in 2018 and now again in 2024; some great things never change. There are nice magnets and stickers that you can purchase, as well as actual street signage if they fit in your luggage! 🧳

Very creative work distributed throughout Florence: playful and thought-provoking without disrespecting the intended practical purpose of signage. His work has become easily recognizable and adds to the culture of Florence.
