I took an unusual screw essential for my table to this shop and the was guy was able to match the screws in an instant and I have a rock solid table again. Why didn't I do this years ago. I need some other screws to 'complete the set' so to speak so I'll bring one along and he'll match them and job done. Great service, cash only. You only get the screws you need, rather than walking away with 100 leftovers in a box. Unless that's what you require.

Amazing shop still run by the original owner. Very well stocked and even better customer service, ask anything if you're unsure and they are more than happy to assist. Currently closed as the owner is away and will be back at the end of August/early September. Will drop by again for sure.

This man is an absolute expert and gem. Our key machine broke down for 2 weeks I searched the Internet and every local took shop for this Imperial measured Screw. As soon as he looked at it was able to identify it and now our machine works again.

Wanted 1/4 inch whitworth nuts for some handles and " the man" Knew exactly what I wanted and produced them for me. You don't get that service at B& Q , we then chatted about motorbikes and hope that the business stays open for many years

An amazing shop with an owner who has spent decades, knowing and understanding his trade and can really help you with everything. Fantastic institution. We are lucky to have it. If you want a business with 12 hours a day opening including weekends and a fancy website updated everyday, don't come here. If you want an exceptional person who really loves their work, this is the place and you're going to have to make sure he gets some time off to live and be the person he is. High rents, squeezed out by the fast food, and the loss of custom from people who prefer to drive in their vans to screwfix, means that this hero will soon no longer be opening his shop. Our loss.

Massive stock of stainless steel screws. General tools etc. Nice owner, been the family business for generations. I saw the owner approach a lady on the street having problems with her bike, just as he was opening the shop, he went inside a loaned her a tool to get back on the road. Demonstrates how much of a gentleman he is. Use it or loose it. Trade doesn’t warrant longer hours.

The owner is a master in his field. I took a selection of very random bolts with me, various threads for a classic motorcycle that needed replacing. With relative ease the man found the like for like replacements out of his Aladdin’s cave of stock reappearing moments later. Great for vintage machinery, bikes and cars. If your not sure of the sizes he is super helpful

I am no handy woman, or DIY enthusiast. I'd like to stress that before i launch into this review. my best friend is; he runs a workshop at a gallery and this is the only place that he goes to pick up supplies. He urged to to write about this shop and spread this to others. So here we go! It's amazing. Like an old school hardware store that smells part wood, part like your shed. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful and their stock is impressive. Now i don't know anything about nuts and bolts, screws and drills, but i do know that whevever aforementioned friend has been in here they've always got what he wants, and he travels here to get all of his supplies.
