Very affordable theater with old-school vibes. The seats could use some TLC but they do recline and they are comfortable. popcorn, candy, and soft drinks sold at the concession counter are very affordable as well. They don’t really have much to offer aside from those items. But not a deal breaker. I’ll be coming here more often.

Kris Alva

Google
The staff here is very friendly, and very helpful. I like you can get free popcorn here on Tuesdays. That’s a really good deal. I like the vintage feel of the theater and it’s still very clean which is a nice. The bathroom is clean and spacious.

Google
I used to come here all the time and am so glad to return... they have great movie selection times....the most comfy seats...and standard movie snacks - buttery popcorn, candy and soft drinks. Great local small movie theater....tickets are 1/2 the price of other theaters....

Toby Clearwater

Google
I have nothing bad to say about this theater. It is an old theater, but it is well-maintained and clean. I was very happy to see the seats are literally oversized recliners. The seats were very comfortable. If the movie is not enjoyable, it would be easy to fall asleep. I came to a 1:00 PM Sunday showing, and at $4.00 a ticket, it is quite a bargain.

Google
Cinemart Cinemas is a hidden gem! It’s affordable, clean, and has a great selection of movies — from the latest releases to indie favorites. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make every visit a pleasure. If you’re looking for a quality movie experience without the high prices of bigger theaters, this is the perfect spot. Highly recommend!

Google
It's ok, nothing special about it. Note: a bit smelling/one at a time bathroom on first floor

Rachel Mitchell

Google
This place is refreshing. More affordable than mainstream cinemas, clean bathrooms, reasonable concessions pricing, and the chairs are super cozy. I think it’s definitely worth it to go somewhere with character like this! Also, for the seat reviews I keep seeing - if we rally and support small places like this, they could keep up with the cost to maintain. I’m sure it’s hard to compete with huge corporations so I definitely suggest supporting this place despite any minor things I’m sure they’re working on!

Google
This was a nice theater. They have very good prices for both tickets and snacks. I loved all the movie posters from old classic movies that are all over the theater. The theater is clean and well cared for. Would definitely visit again.

Genie M.

Yelp
Great theater independently owned. Free popcorn on Tuesday's. Popcorn is popped daily. Eight dollar movies on Tuesday. Friendly service. The seats recline. Bathrooms upstairs and down. Bathrooms are clean.

Erica B.

Yelp
So reasonable and simple! Clean bathrooms, comfortable clean seats, great sound in the theatre. Okay, sure, seats are worn, but I didn't care in the least.

Yelp
If you're searching for that classic, cozy neighborhood movie theater vibe, look no further than Cinemart in Forest Hills. This place is the epitome of a hidden gem. Tucked away on Metropolitan Avenue, it's the perfect spot for cinephiles and casual moviegoers alike who want to enjoy a film without the hustle and bustle of larger chains. What I love most about Cinemart is its charm. The theater is small but never feels cramped. The seats are surprisingly comfortable, and the ambiance just makes you feel at home. It's like stepping back in time to when going to the movies was a special occasion. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always greet you with a smile. You can tell they care about the place and their customers. The popcorn? Freshly popped and delicious, with just the right amount of butter. They even offer some unique snacks that you won't find at your typical multiplex. What really sets Cinemart apart is the sense of community. It's not uncommon to see families, couples, and solo movie enthusiasts chatting before and after the show. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the overall experience. Pro tip: Come early to snag the best seats, and don't miss out on their occasional special screenings of classic films. Whether you're a Queens local or just passing through, Cinemart Movie Theatre is worth the visit. It's a rare find that keeps the magic of the movies alive. Pictured Mommy & Me Date with my princess there is a cute icecream shop in the neighborhood

Danielle B.

Yelp
It's a very small, but cute theater. The seats were very comfortable, but quite old. I would definitely come back here for the prices alone because the ticket prices and concession prices were phenomenal compared to anywhere else in nyc. That being said, the employees were all some of the most miserable people I've ever met. The ticket lady was rude, as well ass the staff behind the concession stand too. They hardly talked and gave us dirty looks like they were annoyed we were asking for anything. Besides that, it's a super cute theater in a rly great area. I would come back, but just don't expect friendly staff.

Erika P.

Yelp
Great local theater that keeps the "small town movie theater" vibe while still upgrading to recliner seats which I appreciate. Theater is clean, movies start on time, and you can choose your seats online. The best thing about this place is that the prices for both tickets and snacks are not astronomical. Great movie spot!

Yanel S.

Yelp
Ok, yes it's the oldest theatre around, the staff are a young people like they just graduated high school! The move theatre is antique yet it's dirty the seats are all rubbed off ! The movie was suppose to start at 5:30 didn't star until 6! The drinks are all water down! If you look above the popcorn machines there is burnt marks or like dust in the ceiling

Justyna T.

Yelp
Total dump!! Floors so sticky , it's a miracle no one knocked their teeth out. Old grease covered chairs. Smell is equally disgusting!! Avoid at all cost.

Rezwana N.

Yelp
Was on the area for a meeting, had lunch on a beautiful Bangladeshi Restaurant. Then decided to google nearest movie theaters. And that's what came up luckily ! Small, clean & beautiful theater! Stuff were very nice & helpful. And yes the tickets are cheaper !

Chris B.

Yelp
A nice movie theater at old world prices. At that price plus reclining lazy boy type seats. I wish movie goers would show their appreciation more by always cleaning up after themselves. How can you go see a movie at such great prices and then leave your filth for other to clean up.

Sheena M.

Yelp
Cinemart Cinemas is on the smaller side and nothing to fancy, but affordable. It has an old school classic theater vibe. The chairs recline for extra comfort. The staff was friendly and polite. Street parking is a little hard to find depending on the time of day. Highly recommend visiting if you are in the area! Tickets can be purchased in advance, $12 for adults..

Rosie B.

Yelp
A neighborhood favorite Cinemart has been opened since 1925! Yep the oldest operating theater in the borough of Queens! I love it's antique charm, from the bathrooms to the lobby and hallway decorations. The seats all recline which is one of the main reasons I love coming here with my family. Also if you want to save some money they offer half off on Tuesday ($8.00) and free popcorn now that's a reason to go for a movie on Tuesday. I do wish the theater was updated with a few more food choices like slushes for the kids, perhaps hotdogs and maybe nuggets. Hopefully once the Cafe opens up it will change things a bit.

Elisabeth M.

Yelp
Used be cute and clean now there are broken recliners and not so clean concession stands selling nothing fancy. Sad neighborhood staple.

Leslie L.

Yelp
Used to love this theater but as of late the cleanliness, customer service and overall quality of food has declined greatly!!. Some nights when i view the last showing there's no one working behind the counter to serve refreshments.. Then after all that wait i finally find someone who can take my order- i sit down and try the popcorn and it is stale and flavorless!. Staff lacks personable skills and simple customer service skills. A smile or a thank you, enjoy your movie goes a long way.

Mercedes R.

Yelp
Cinemart Cinemas has become my favorite movie theater. It's cozy, small, and affordable. It has an old school classic theater vibe. The chairs recline giving guests extra comfort. The staff is always pleasant. The birthday packages are very affordable. Highly recommend if you are in the area!

Allyson B.

Yelp
My new go-to place near forest hills. It's cleaner than other movie theaters. The only drawback is the parking since it's only 2 hour parking til 7 so you would have to find parking in the residences if you're watching a movie before 7 pm

Shantal W.

Yelp
Cinemart is truly a hidden gem, its one of my favorite places. Love the interior with the pictures of old Hollywood stars. The staff is always friendly and attentive, comfy recliner seats and you can't beat the price. I will always choose Cinemart compared to AMC or Regal. Its a much more intimate and pleasant experience.

Calvin E.

Yelp
Most movie theaters have a discounted like 5$ Tuesdays or Wednesdays. We were calling just to inquire if this theater did as well and the guy that answered the phone was rude and unprofessional. Asking us why people keep calling to ask if they do discounted days and where people keep getting the idea that they would do such a thing. Was a simple question.. would not recommend this place just based off the phone conversation...

Denise G.

Yelp
Absolutely love this movie theater! All the rooms are cozy and have comfortable chairs. The staff is always polite and welcoming. 10/10

Samah I.

Yelp
Ever since these guys renovated I totally abandoned going to chain movie theaters which are outrageously and abhorrently expensive. That is not the case here. Tickets range from 8-11 bucks depending on the time of day you go (if I'm not mistaken it's 8 bucks before 5pm). The leather seats are definitely started to wear but for the price of the tickets (and considering you sit for three hours in the seat) I don't really care too much.

Gloria C.

Yelp
Free popcorn and $8.00 cost of movie ticket, you just can't beat that. Seats are starting to show its age but they reclined and are comfortable. Best kept secret in Queens!

Juliana H.

Yelp
Such a cute mom and pop style cinema. They don't have much in the way of concession stand but the popcorn is good and they have soda and a nice ambience. Plus from what I've read on the website they are working to extend their concession stand and offerings. The tickets are much more affordable than the big name theaters and feels more welcoming. Plus if you finish the movie early you can pop over across the street to Eddie's Sweet Shop for the most amazing ice cream and malts.

Day T.

Yelp
Very dirty and seats are in terrible shape. There's popcorn under all the seats and the carpets look like they haven't been vacuumed in quite a while. There were about 5-6 teenage workers and none were cleaning anything.

Margaret C.

Yelp
What fun. Comfy reclining seats. Plenty of space for my grandson to sit on my lap during the exciting parts. Nice crowd. Pixar. Popcorn.

Camille M.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS MOVIE THEATER. Let me include I grew up with this theater when I was a kid. I can just close my eyes and remember it was like yesterday walking in here when I was 7 with my parents on a weekend. They upgraded the theaters with reclining seats, but they still kept their same low prices ! You can't beat this. Why would you complain? When you are right next to Eddie's Sweet Shop right across the street, who wouldn't wanna bring a date here ?? Makes me feel nostalgic all over again! I try not telling many people about this place because it's just too great and I love to keep it a little secret, but here I am ! You'll never wanna go to a Regal or AMC again. (Pro Tip: Come here on Thursday and they have unlimited popcorn) You're welcome ;)

Angelica O.

Yelp
You can tell the seats in cinema are pretty worn down but it's kind of like whatever because the tickets are cheap. They also have good and fresh popcorn

Lori A.

Yelp
Love the bathroom. They have real doors for the stalls so you can't see anyone and they can't see you. The concession stand is no frills but after buying two small drinks, a small popcorn, a box of candy, and a thing of nachos we spent $20 plus $24 on 3 tickets. $44 is great for a family of 3 and the seats are assigned and recliners. This will be our new family movie spot for years to come. And a plus, the employees don't appear to be overly rushed or pushed to up sell and they have an old school ticket counter outside the theater. They are with the times with mobile ticketing and card payment at the counter and I'm really impressed with the whole operation. Give these guys a shot. I'm so glad they started showing newer, in date films after the remodel.

Ara S.

Yelp
Love having this theater in the neighborhood but it needs some TLC. It's dirty!! Please clean up, management!

Jeff G.

Yelp
Cinemart is a hidden gem. It is such a pleasant and reasonable experience. The theaters are small but that is part of the charm. I find the chairs here (big comfy recliners) to be the best of an theater. You can also put the arm rest up here and have a loveseat with your partner or in my case kids. I suggest buying tickets online so you can see what seats are available before going. Again the theaters are small and it sometimes is hard to get seats next to each other or not in the front row.

Talia P.

Yelp
We used to love this movie theater. However, I went to see Barbie on 7/24 with my family and there were many little girls present. Next to us, were these four teenagers sharing two seats. The girls were on top of the guys straddling them and they had their underwear out. Being outraged, I went outside to the concession and got one of the ushers and they told me the management would be told and they would get them out of the theater. What they actually did was come in and tell the teenagers to "keep it down". I was very upset about this and was told that "the highschool kids just do this every matinee" and that the management knows about it. I sent an email and got a response from Nick saying that a manager would call me. Still no call. I'm very disappointed because we used to love this movie theater. Do not go to the matineee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tabby C.

Yelp
I went to an 11:00 A.M. screening so, the tickets were only $8 each! The chairs are arranged in sets of two, so if you go with another person, it feels like a big bed because you can lay down and recline on the chairs. It's an old style small theater, but I think that's what makes it so nice. I also ordered a large popcorn for $6 and it was yummy.

Nick N.

Yelp
The kid working the concession stand bullied my 10 year old daughter. She was with her friend's family so I was not there. But he was making fun of my daughter with his co-worker. The family confronted them. Supervisor came out and concluded my daughter was lying. Why they would think a 10 year old kid would lie about something like that is beyond me. This is unfortunate because we enjoy going there. I would blame in on the kid being a bad seed, but the supervisor supporting the kid was disappointing. I feel like they haven't learned their lesson. Time to take my business elsewhere.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Once you visit Cinemart, you'll never, ever, want to see a movie in Manhattan again. Not only is the ticket price among the lowest in the NYC area ($11 on weekends and $8 on Tuesdays, which makes getting a coupon from Working Advantage or other discount sites unnecessary), but you get to watch the movie in a comfy recliner. The popcorn and soda are reasonably priced as well, so there's no need to deny yourself a treat. And if you don't feel like having popcorn and soda, there's always Eddie's Sweet Shop across the way, a vintage ice cream and soda place that serves delicious ice cream and more after the show. I love this place so much that every time a new movie comes out, I pray that it'll be playing at Cinemart. I recently went to the Regal Union Square theater in Manhattan only because I got a heavily discounted movie ticket to see "Bombshell" and couldn't believe they regularly charge $18 to sit in an ordinary, non-reclining seat. On top of that, you have to deal with annoying crowds and having to ride several escalators up to the top. Never again. If Cinemart added table service a la Nitehawk or the Alamo Drafthouse, I'd be in cinematic heaven. But I'll take Cinemart's trademark Lazy Boy red recliners any day!

Arlina U.

Yelp
Everything was perfect. Close to home, period decor and seating were great. Good experience.

Alp P.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite movie theaters. It's an independent theater - a rarity these days. It has comfortable recliners, reserved seating, free popcorn for advanced screenings and sneak previews. Matinee and senior discounts. Reasonable pricing at all other times, unlike the large chains. I only wish they also had ice cream. It is handicap accessible, and while the bathrooms are on the 2nd floor, there is a unisex, handicap accessible one on the 1st floor. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is my go-to movie location and, as a movie buff I say, support businesses like these before they are fully eclipsed by giant chains that charge as if you're seeing a broadway play. On the opposite corner from Cinemart is the famous Eddie's Sweet Shop, an old fashioned ice cream parlor featured in many films. Wonderful for children, families and adults alike. Make it a combo visit, movie and delicious ice cream. You can't go wrong. I buy/reserve my tickets directly on their website. Give this theater a go.

Mike C.

Yelp
Ah, good old Cinemart. Subtract two stars if you didn't go here growing up and don't have the nostalgia factor going for you like I do. Because otherwise, this place is pretty much a dump. They still got that big rip in the screen in one of the theaters, just as big and noticeable as I remembered 10 years ago when I used to come. It's kind of depressing to also see the same people working there now from all those years ago. They also play movies pretty much strictly 1 month old (or older). And to top it off, most, if not all of the previews, are for really old movies that have already been released, or movies that they are currently showing at the theater. The highlight of my last experience here a few weeks ago was when my wife asked for a refill on soda (knowing clearly that they didn't offer free refills), and the girl working there was so sick of life and didn't care at all and was just like "No, but whatever, you can have one". So don't come here if you are in the mood to see a new movie in a lively atmosphere with good screens and comfortable seats, or you will be extremely disappointed. The popcorn is really excellent though. Also, it's right across the street from Eddie's Sweet Shop, which is a must go for ice cream if you are ever in Forest Hills, so all in all, it's a nice, quiet (sometimes slightly depressing) way to pass two hours on Metropolitan Ave.

Lisa C.

Yelp
Having been in Queens for under a year, I've already watched 2 movies here. My friend told me they have an awesome deal on Tuesdays-- $8 for a movie ticket, popcorn and a drink. Where else are you going to find that?? The theaters are small but they're updated with reclining chairs. You can also pre-select your seats when you purchase your tickets online. I love the convenience of this old school theater in my neighborhood. I won't be going to those big chains ever again.

Danielle A.

Yelp
One of the best cinemas ever.... it's modeled to look like an old fashioned movie theatre which is so vintage!! The people are nice, tickets are cheap, especially matinee. Free popcorn on Tuesday's and Thursday's!! Such a great place. I always tell people to go here

Lourdes M.

Yelp
A girlfriend has a voucher that will be expiring soon on this place that needs a disposal. We know even before we set a movie date to this place that it is a second run theater. Less expectations has been raised. The theater has 7 cinema. Each cinema is small in dimension comparable to standard theaters. Screen is higher from my viewpoint or either my chair is low. The movie we watched has been out for more than a month already but it was a fun movie so it doesn't bother us the theater size. Sound may not be the best surround sound but acceptable enough to enjoy the movie. The admission price is very reasonable and has free popcorn on the side . The employees are nice. It has an acceptable lobby . The location is in a very good neighborhood. It's quite a drive from where I live but I am willing to come back if the movie playing is worth watching. My way of supporting a local business.

Farrah B.

Yelp
We wanted to see a specific movie and it was only being offered in a few theaters, Cinemark happened to be one of them. We went ahead early and checked in with our movie app and picked up our tickets at the box office. We were pleasantly surprised that you are able to select your seat. So we chose to in the back row. The decor is vintage hollywood/nouveau art deco, keeping the original movie house vibe alive. I think there is a cafe associated located next door The concessions were very reasonable children's popcorn was only $4 (about $2 less for everything) and larger than most smalls in other theaters. They do not have combos but with prices so low it's okay. This is an older theater that has been remodeled and by the smaller auditoriums this is evident. But when you are offered a fully automatic reclining chair with cup holders on each side, you are glad that it's less people in there or you will definitely be dealing with snoring patrons in those comfortable chairs. Even the bathrooms were really cool, fitting the vintage vibe. The only gripe was that the screen was very small. Other than that it was great. We will be back.

Alper T.

Yelp
This theater is located on Metropolitan avenue. I never been here, such a miss. Excellent location, reclining leather seats. It is nice and cozy, but big enough to watch a movie. The prices are very reasonable, its not like you go someplace else and spend a fortune. Extremely recommend this place.

Dmitry R.

Yelp
The seats are amazingly comfortable...the prices are great. The theaters themselves are smaller then in the big chains hence minus one star...but overall a great neighborhood theatre.

Alicia B.

Yelp
2 words: reclining seats HOLLLLLLAAAAAA. the most cozy movie theater ! I'm so happy I stumbled upon this hidden gem. Who would've known it has reclining seats? I almost did not want to write this review because I don't want the secret to get out !!! The theater is super clean, spacious and gives off such a vintage vibe. I love the number signs on each theaters and the "concession" sign. Tickets are $11 each ... I believe AMC goes for about $18. My friend and I paid about $10 for popcorn and a soda. (Average) Highly recommended.

Robert C.

Yelp
Been coming here for years, little disappointed that they theater I am in wasn't cleaned yet there are about 5 people "working" tonight

Synthya S.

Yelp
Ok. Today was the first day going back to the theater to see a movie. I was ok with doing this provided that there were procedures such as the blocking off seats. I selected 2 seats that appeared to not be by anyone. When we got in to room 5 there was someone in the row. I went back out to the window and asked to change my seats. They were accommendating with no issue. I selected two more seats that appeared to not have anyone in the row and when I got to those seats, there were people sitting next to my seats. I thought this was not suppose to happen. Luckily the theater was not full and we sat in other seats but I was real annoyed that what I selected was not what was in the theater. If this does not resolve I promise I will not come back to this theater and I will go elsewhere.

Elmelinda D.

Yelp
Found this theater via Google. My husband and I didn't know of it. Leather recliner sets, clean theater, good service, friendly staff and a vintage feel to the place. Loved that there was a neighborhood theater to support. Large popcorn, small soda and two theater tickets under $35. Loved the atmosphere and will most definitely be visiting again.

Melissa S.

Yelp
Awesome cheap theater. Comfortable seats and the concessions is still priced like the 90s. Not an arm and a leg for popcorn. Love watching films here!

Megan V.

Yelp
I want to give the theater a 5 star so bad! I heard great things about the theater and plus who doesn't want $8 tickets when most days tickets are $25? I went on a tuesday and my ticket was $8 and that included free small popcorn & soda. The decor of the theater is super cute. It looks very vintage with black and white photos hung along the wall and a cute bathroom. The seats are also super comfy! My problem with the theater is I went to see a scary movie and 1. the volume was so low that you heard everyone chewing or opening candy or even whispering. How can a scary movie be scary with out the noise? 2. The whole right side of the screen was covered in blue dots during dark scenes.. unfortunately most of the movie was dark since it was a scary movie

Øctavîöuš M.

Yelp
I mean for the most part there's not much you can really say I wanted to be in a theater that was Lowkey and this was exactly that I know yet so discounts before 5 but even after 5 tickets and snacks were cheap other then the chairs making so much noise this is a nice spot to go to.

LetMe B.

Yelp
Nice comfortable recliners. Also great that you could pick your own seats when purchasing tickets. One big complaint is that the movie screen in theater #3 is ripped right in the middle. Very annoying because the rips are very obvious and takes away from the viewing experience, one would think with the new seats the basics are covered... TIP: One thing they don't advertise is that movie on weekdays before 5PM is $8/ticket, otherwise regular ticket is $11/ticket.
