We found this pizza place ahead of our busy day of seeing the Pantheon and Colloseum and were not disappointed!
Seating: indoor and outdoor options. It was over 95 degrees so we opted for indoor seating. It's a small place, so you take what you can get! Most folks eating here seemed to be tourists, but we didn't mind given the high ratings. We did notice a local family eating here though, so that was a good sign!
Service: they were attentive in the beginning to get our orders. However, after getting our starter, it probably took 20-30 minutes for our actual pizza to come out. We also asked for a soda mid meal and they forgot about it, so we had to remind the other waiter. When it came time for payment, the one waiter entered in the price of our meal and when it came to the tip screen, he made a comment that we could tip but is not required. My BF wasn't going to, but the waiter seemed to want one based on the comment and given his watchful eye, my BF basically felt pressured to put something down. We suspect this is the trick for when they notice the Americans eating here...
Food: the prosciutto on the thing crust focaccia was unreal!! I enjoyed this so much on a hot day. It was so refreshing and a different take to having prosciutto that I will be replicating when I get home. Something I noticed (and you can see in the photo) was the drizzling of olive oil on top. It made it perfect! The diavolo was equally as good, though it was quite greasy. Definitely something that 2 people can share for lunch. Maybe for dinner it's could be a single serving.
Overall, the food was great with friendly staff. The slow service and the watchful eye of the waiters when it came time for "optional tipping" caused this rating to go from a 5 to a 4.
