Ponchos Peruvian Kitchen

We ate here twice during our stay at Aquas Calientes. Both times the food was perfect and definitely worth the price. The service is very friendly(Ana and her colleagues) and the restaurant is also beautiful and invites you to linger and observe the surroundings through its window seats. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

Ponchos was a super nice experience. We were offered a table upstairs with a great view of the train line, mountain and other restaurants. The food was really delicious. Yubia our waitress was very friendly and attentive, always checking if we needed anything more. Overall, it was a perfect restaurant to end our trip. Thanks

Amazing restaurant, amazing staff, amazing atmosphere!! 100/10 for this review. The food was really good and it was a big plate. I usually eat a lot and could not finish everything, don't be fooled by the picture, its a lot of food. The server Karla was a sweetheart and very helpful with the questions I had about different places in town. I cant recommend enough. It's #1 on tripadvisor for a reason

I’m really happy my husband and I stumbled across this restaurant! Ana was amazing, she catered to our every need and she really made us feel like we were VIP! We did not know what to order and Ana recommended us some dishes and it did not disappoint! My husband keeps talking about his alpaca dish. Highly recommend everyone visiting here, thank you Ana! 😊

Amazing. We had Stephanie as our server and she was beyond amazing. Very attentive and patient and perfect service. The restaurant itself was beautiful, great ambiance, and they had a nice smoke coming in from outside that smelt delicious. I got the octopus and one of the best meals in Peru.

I had a wonderful dinner with friends at Ponchos during our first time visiting Machu Pichu. Our server Yubia was delightful! I asked for recommendations on what to eat and drink and it did not dissapoint! I tried alpaca skewers for the first time, I was a bit hesitant to try alpaca but Yubia reassured me that it would be a good choice & it sure was because those alpaca skewers were delicious and cooked to perfection! I also had 2 delicious cocktails which i can’t remember the name 😅 but i loved the presentation, looked so darn cute! I highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Machu Pichu!

Yubia was a great waitress and very attentive. The portion size for the food is Texan and the taste is out of this world. Best chaufa my husband had had in Peru. Atmosphere: It was a rainy night but we sat upstairs and people watched from a seat by the window. The restaurant is cozy (2 floors) and the food selection was good.

I tried 3 or 4 restaurants here in Aguas Calientes, and this was the only one that truly impressed me. To be honest, most restaurants in this town have similar pricing, but only this place made me feel that the food and service genuinely matched the cost. Other places charged the same, yet fell far short in both quality and care. The service here was excellent and the food was genuinely delicious. I am not exaggerating. What surprised me the most was how fair and balanced everything felt. The dishes were flavorful, well prepared, and the pricing made sense for what we received. That is something you rarely find in a touristy town like this. I especially want to thank our server Nadin, who was attentive and thoughtful throughout the entire experience. She not only confirmed our order carefully but also asked if we had any allergies. For me, this is a basic expectation in any restaurant, yet surprisingly, many places around here do not ask at all. Their attention to detail made me feel respected and genuinely cared for. During the meal, they also came to check on us, which added a warm and personal touch. Highly recommended.
