Chrisopigi Monastery

An experience of its own. A wonderful church built on top of a rock that offers a wonderful experience and has a lot of lores and tales to tell! ❤️ You can also opt for taking a swim besides as there are certain rock formations that allow for that. The church itself is wonderful both outside and inside. There is a free parking space right before it.

Chrysopigi is a unique picturesque church and monastery. Truly great site to visit and photo op. I came here for the first time in 1977 as a teenager. Still love it as I did the first day I experienced it. Great beach a few hundred meters north of it.

Sheer natural beauty together with a tiny place for meditation in front of the new and interesting icon of Mother Mary (unique in the name of Chrisopigi). Unexpected bonus a great spot for adventurous swimming and discovery. Great food at the tavern next to the nearby beach.

One of the best place on earth but yachts are destroying it… They shouldn’t be allowed to anchor around this Monastery

Really worth visiting. Women need to be covered (chest and legs past the knee out of respect). It has some really nice grounds, and the back of the church is worth visiting as there's a lookout point with a greek flag that faces Antiparos island in the distance. Sometimes, you can find someone selling crosses, traditional rope bracelets, and icons.

One of the best places in Sifnos. Calm, serene, with a great view to the big blue of Aegean Sea. The church is at a unique location, especially during the sunset. You can reach the church by car or by a wonderful scenic path from Vlicho beach. The person in charge of taking care of the place is very friendly and will give you all the info about the history of the church.

Peaceful, quiet and relaxing Monastery easily accessible by the road with a close by small “parking” and by foot. The view on the bay from one side and the endless sea by the other makes it quite special. The person in charge of taking care of the place is very friendly and speaks perfect English - don’t hesitate to ask him for things to do around, he would be glad to help !
