Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa (Villars-sur-Ollon, Vaud) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There’s a Switzerland for all seasons at Chalet RoyAlp Hotel & Spa. The hotel offers experiences and activities for every type of weather, from hiking and golfing in summer to skiing and sledging in winter, but the Swiss chalet-style accommodation works all year round. Wood-lined rooms and traditional checked Alpine textiles cocoon guests after hitting the slopes, whilst the floor-to-ceiling window flood rooms with summer sunlight. Of course, spa time is always appreciated, particularly here where the wellness offering includes a pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and more, plus treatments from the likes of cult French beauty brand Biologique Recherche. There’s two restaurants to choose from, plus a cigar lounge and a pop up summer terrace, but gastronomes might enjoy the chance to sit at the Chef’s Table right in the heart of the action." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel has everything, kids room, spa, gym, games room, bar, restaurants. The staff are extremely professional and efficient and kind. The rooms are very large, with good quality fittings, and luxurious bathroom. The terrace areas are large and welcoming, with spectacular views. The hotel is perfect in summer or winter and highly recommend. I also used the conferencing rooms which were also excellent.

Super comfortable hotel in an amazing location, with a splendid spa and a truly fantastic pool! We spent three nights here and would happily return. The surroundings are incredibly peaceful—just birds chirping and, occasionally, thunder rolling over the mountains providing a dramatic backdrop. The views from the balcony are stunning. The food was excellent (we arrived just before the main season, so we’re looking forward to trying their other restaurants next time). The service is top-notch, and the mountain train stops just a one-minute walk from the hotel. The rooms are excellent—designed in a classic Swiss chalet style, yet modern and highly functional. They feel neither cramped nor empty—everything works perfectly. Kudos to the entire team. We’ll be happy to come back!

Hello. I m Pedro. From Spain. I was visiting the hotel and spa last week. My experience there was vey nice. I arrived at noon time, just to have a cool drink at the bar. I enjoyed a lot with a músician that was playing acordeón and guitar. I specially listened carefully one cover of Libertango ( A. piazzolla) very good fearured and performed for this lovely girl. I meet also the barwoman, called Helen, to thanx my time in her bar. The place is awesome, the views from the Terrasse are are increíbles and the scent inside the building was so nice. I'd like to go more there. Villars área is a fantastic place to visit in the summer.

We had an amazing winter stay at Chalet RoyAlp with our kids! The hotel is cozy yet luxurious, with breathtaking mountain views. The staff was incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect family holiday.||The kids loved the sledges provided by the hotel, which made for great fun in the snow! The indoor pool and play area kept them entertained. We all enjoyed the delicious food at both restaurants, live music at the bar and private cinema. The location is ideal, with easy access to ski slopes and winter activities. The hotel is dog-friendly. ||Can highly recommend.

Highly recommend this high-end and luxurious ski chalet and spa. I visited during the low season but still enjoyed the amenities and stay. I can imagine the energy during the busy hectic peak ski season. Loved the warm wooden decor, full amenities and entertainment facilities including games room, pool tables, ample lounge spaces, bar and restaurant, piano and live music, indoor pool, large gym, luxury spa, sauna, kids playground, Michelin-star restaurant. Bedrooms were comfortable, plush beds, and beautiful bathrooms with quality toiletries. Large cupboards to accommodate ski gear and longer stays. Explored surrounding villages and breathtaking scenery of Swiss Alps.

This has the potential to be a wonderful hotel. It is set in a great location, with mountain views that are well worth paying extra for. The property is spacious, offering numerous seating options by cosy open fires and boasts a fabulous pool room with an open fire, sauna, and steam room. The jacuzzi is lovely and relaxing outside of peak times (4 pm–7 pm), when it tends to be taken over by children.||The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the town centre, but a convenient driver service is available to drop you off and pick you up. There’s a fantastic ski shop called Sports House for ski rentals, and a skilled gentleman named Adrian expertly adjusted my own boots. Ski passes can be purchased at reception, and the ski train, just a 2-minute walk across the road, provides easy access to the mountains. There’s also a fabulous sledge run back to the hotel if you take the train up to the Golf stop, and you can ski back to the hotel via a path at Col de Soud.||However, the service doesn’t quite match the standards of other Leading Hotels of the World we’ve experienced. The staff seem a little short-staffed, and there are some inconsistencies. Breakfast service, for example, can be hit or miss. On one occasion, I asked the woman who showed us to our table if she could take a coffee order, but she replied that it wasn’t her job and I’d need to ask someone else. One day there was avocado, which was fabulous, but when I asked the next day, I was told it had been a one-off. It would also be nice if water were routinely served at the table and if drink orders were taken when you’re seated. Additionally, egg dishes come at an extra charge, which feels odd for a hotel of this calibre.||Bar service is similarly slow—you need to track down a menu and then ask at the bar for someone to take your order. In our room, bathrobes and slippers were removed by housekeeping but not replaced, and on another occasion, towels were taken without new ones being left. Water in the room was not replenished either.||The rooms are warm, but without air conditioning, and we couldn’t open the patio doors in the evening because of smoke wafting in from a chimney or fire below.||On a positive note, the lady at the spa desk, one of the men at reception, and the driver into town are all a credit to the hotel. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff seemed to have a somewhat nonchalant attitude, which detracted from the overall experience.||While the setting and facilities are excellent, these service issues, particularly at this price point, let this hotel down. |Would we go again? Probably not, I would look for a hotel with a better 5-star experience. |

I had the absolute worst experience at this hotel restaurant. The moment I sat down, I noticed two potatoes just sitting there—who knows how long they had been there or where they came from. Completely unsanitary! When we reported it to the staff, they found it funny instead of addressing the issue seriously. To make matters worse, we went to the front desk to speak with a manager, only to find that the person there had no idea what an MOD (Manager on Duty) was. Completely clueless and unwilling to help, they did absolutely nothing to resolve the issue. The lack of professionalism, cleanliness, and basic customer service was shocking. If this is how they handle something as simple as misplaced food, I can only imagine how they handle actual food preparation. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else!

Everything about our Christmas experience was amazing: the setting, the accommodation, the service, the food, and the amenities. We also wanted to give a special thank you to Jordane and Gabriela. Jordane was the best masseuse we’ve ever had, and you can tell he cares deeply about his clients and the art of massage. Gabriela was incredibly welcoming and helpful after a difficult journey and made our arrival romantic and easy. An additional note: you feel close to nature and comfortable the entire stay. We look forward to visiting again soon!
