"New York is no stranger to coffee shops and teahouses, but Chalait is the first one to feature such a matcha-heavy menu. For the uninitiated, our favorite matcha latte—creamy and not too bitter—is a good intro to this potent, antioxidant-rich green tea. For nonbelievers, there’s Counter Culture coffee and a variety of loose-leaf teas. While there is no Wi-Fi, it's a good spot to get some work done."

The drink was delicious! Good presentation and very aesthetic- great for any matcha lovers or foodies out there. I got the nourish drink which was very good and filling. It might seem pricey but most cafes sell drinks for about this price and a higher price tag often just means better matcha and other ingredients.

This Matcha Bahama (5.44 USD) surprised me! When I saw the barista pouring in pineapple syrup, I became skeptical. The main ingredient of this unique cup of matcha is coconut water from a bottle. Yet, the uji matcha favour really stands out. The matcha itself is pleasantly bitter and flavourful. I had never tasted anything like this before. I mean, I had tasted these three ingredients separately before, but I had never thought of putting them together. Who would have thought it would all go so well together?! I think the key is this matcha's high quality. The fact that its favour remains strong despite being mixed with two drastically different ingredients prove its quality. It's listed as spring menu. So, make sure to try it out before it's gone! ;)

Quirky drinks, good coffee (almost up to Aussie quality). The Matcha cappuccino was interesting, the wife had that with almond milk and really enjoyed it instead of the usual decaf coffee or Chai latte (she doesn't drink coffee).

Quick stop for sandwiches. Nice and clean. Delicious and priced reasonable. They offer both coffee and tea, hot or cold. Easy, clean and fast services.

Quick service and a truly interesting menu! I tried the Matcha Hot Chocolate with house-made almond/cashew milk and the Matcha Yogurt and Granola, and was not disappointed.

The $10 toasts are really good but not very filling. The matcha cream cheese is a nice idea but it's kinda too light to really bring a distinct taste. In my opinion, it should have a slightly more pronounced flavor. *review to be updated once I test-taste the Matcha tea*

I had the classic matcha latte and it was the best I've had. The matcha was complex and rich. It was not sweet, and the barista warned that if you're used to sugary matcha drinks this may be a bit bland. I thought it was excellent. I'm also surprised at the negative reviews on service; they weren't effusive, but everyone was efficient.

Matcha latte here is awful and too pricey, $5.72 for a cup of milk with green color. The store is small and pretty but its packaging is not. When I asked for extra matcha because flavor is so tasteless, the bartender was unhappy to do it. It’s such a waste!
