C'est Cheese is a local treasure, offering a wide selection of cheeses from near and far, a charcuterie section, shelves of other gourmet items, and a small wine selection. The owners and staff know their stuff and are extremely helpful. They also do catering for offsite events!

They've managed to take a wine and cheese shop (and cafe) and the food they prepare into something as unpretentious as a wine and cheese shop (and cafe) can be. I try to stop by every time I'm in Santa Barbara.

Sandwich was superb. Convenient place to get a variety of cheeses. We bought a Quebec cheddar and a California baby Swiss - both were really good!

Great cafe. This place shares a little market for some cheese, pate and wine. Great place to study or catch up on some emails to start the day. Food was delicious! Loved the fresh squeezed orange juice

We stopped here for a quick breakfast before continuing our journey and we were so glad we did! It's such a cute, quiet little spot to enjoy something to eat and the service is super quick. We tried the breakfast sandwich with bacon which was delicious and the waffle which was also great! The jam that came with it was really tasty. If we are in the area again we will definitely stop by as the food is great tasting and great value.

I like to think of this place as the entrance to wine country. We always stop by before heading north to the vineyards. Best selection of meats and cheeses in 100 miles. Everyone behind the counter is super knowledgable, just give them an idea of what you like and they magically pull it out of their extensive selection and never miss. Plus, they never try to get you buy any more than what you'll need for a great day of wine tasting, they prep a perfect selection customized to your tastes and how many people are with you. You have to stop by if you've never been!

It's your average SB wine and cheese place. Not that fancy. Not rundown either. Ambience is okay. They serve all healthy options. Variety of cheese is great. Wine selection is okay as well. Not my cup of tea though!

This is my favorite cheese shop at all time. Whenever I come into the Santa Barbara area to go wine tasting, we always stop here to pick up items for our charcuterie board. Everyone that works here is so helpful, I love the samples that they give, and the prices are reasonable for the quality of food that you get. They have a little market inside where you can purchase crackers, olive spreads, etc. LOVE LOVE LOVE

Great cheese shop! The staffs were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended for anyone who loves eating cheese.

Some of the friendliest people you will ever encounter. We were walked though many different cheese with no sense of being a problem. They were happy to get us to what we liked best. Big shop with great selections of cheese meat and other accompaniments. Was able also able to grab a fresh baguette which was nice. Prices were very reasonable and like C'est cheese, we highly recommend

We ordered a cheese platter recently for my daughter's birthday party and it was a huge hit! I loved how the cheeses were labeled and how cleverly this was done. A+ for presentation. The cheeses were also super delicious and fresh. The bread also came in a cute little basket on the side. Highly recommend, well done Cheese Shop!!!!

Visited on 5/3 while visiting Santa Barbara & was not disappointed. The guy at the register helped me and my boyfriend out being so kind and knowledgable about all the cheese selection they had. We even sampled the roasted tomato & feta spread and had to get a tub to take home. It's a shame it's only one location but every single cheese we tried was amazing! I love cheese and would definitely recommend checking this place out if you love cheese as well!

Terrific place to pick up goods for a picnic and exquisite gifts for your foodie friends. Fun to browse which is a good thing because it can be a wait to get counter service.

I wish we had the need to shop here more often. I try to stop in whenever I am nearby. My daughter is 1.5 and one of her first words was "cheese". She loves it! She's very open to trying new things, and I appreciate that they let us taste the different cheeses to see what she'll like. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and the quality of products they carry is just top notch. I highly recommend showing up and supporting this gem of a local cheese shop. They are also the only place I know of that carried Jose Andres Potato chips (they are the best).

I visited them when they were still C'est Cheese, but their website says "SAME GREAT CHEESES, MEATS, & GOODIES...SAME STAFF & SAME GREAT SMILES!" I loved this place and got really bummed when I thought they had closed for good, but was excited when I heard that they had just changed a few things up. Due to the pandemic, they are currently only offering curbside pick-up and local delivery, but their website shop is full of what they have available. I really enjoyed the Pilota and Piave when I was there, and if you like a more soft cheese the Ruche Robson was good.

We had the best time picking our cheese here. Some rare items are on display and you can taste them. It was hard for us to settle on what we were going to leave with, but the gentlemen's who helped us knew everything about their products and had us try some that we made not have tried,, and thank God we did,, So grateful for that experience.

There's cheese and there's CHEESE. In the decade or so since they opened, Katherine, Michael, & team have taught me _so much_ about cheese. The Cheese Shop sells cheese at its prime, and that alone is an extraordinary difference. Their carefully curated collection traverses the world, representing the best and many times hard-to-find across categories. Staff is so kind and generous with their knowledge that I regularly trust them to recommend new flavor adventures. Their tomato soup is legend and shelf stable...there are so many fun goodies they make in house and they also carry a terrific assortment of fun splurges that make entertaining easier. Sliced meats, crisp wines, fresh bread, hostess gifts... stop reading and check them out! Pro tip: Stop here before wine tasting to put together a portable picnic! They have the cutest cheese knives & cloth napkins, too! Or go to the tasting room next door and order a cheese board. Last weekend, we snagged a corner table at Kunin Wines and it was magic!

The cheddar crackers deserve 5 stars alone! The in-house items are delicious and the cheese selection is diverse. Great pre-packed items for local gifts and cheese boards! Always a treat!

The venerable C'est Cheese, which closed to much dismay, has reopened with the pragmatic new name, The Cheese Shop. Apparently it's the same owners as C'est Cheese. "It's a long story," they said. As you'd expect there is an abundant selection of fromage. There is also an adjacent space filled with kitchenware and gourmet food items called La Maison Rouge. With Covid, they're currently selling out of the front door.

Such beautiful design touches on the platters we ordered! We ordered Salumi, Smoked Salmon, Assorted Cheese, and Homemade Cookie trays for a recent party. I worked with Kathryn who perfectly advised me on the correct amount for our party size. She's a ball of happy energy and clearly shows her passion for her business. Our guests raved about the appearance, tastes, and artistry of each platter. Everything was fresh, lovely, beautifully arranged and delicious. We highly recommend Kathryn and her marvelous Cheese Shop for your next party!

While the other cheese shops in the Santa Barbara offer friendly ambience for socializing, Cheese Shop Santa Barbara is a one-of-a-kind that not only focuses on a wide and tasty variety of cheese, but their newsletters inform patrons about the background of their cheeses. (I can't wait for them to bring back their cheese classes! Adding to that, the friendly, helpful service by both the co-owners and staff is unequaled, (easily deserving of 5 stars... and I'm very picky).

Cheese shop came back stronger than before after their reopening! They have a large selection of international cheeses and meats along with small groceries, housewares, candles, bread and a few house made dips such us hummus. They have a user friendly website by which you can preorder and go get your goodies. Prices are not cheap so these yummy cheeses are an occasional treat. They also have discounts on certain cheeses. They support local artisans such us folio cards and the bakeries they source bread from. Support this local gem so they do well this time around.

Great selection of cheeses. I needed several cheeses for a small gathering and told the person helping me what types of cheeses I liked and how many people we were hosting. I left the specific cheese selections up to her and she totally nailed it. She provided me with a selection of 6 different cheeses, all of which our guests loved and made comments about. While she was packaging up the final piece of cheese, a gentleman began ringing us up. I commented to him that the person preparing our cheeses was a star employee. She was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and so willing to help. He informed me that she was the owner! What a great place.
