On the Grid : Case Study

"There are plenty of coffee shops on Alberta, but Case Study is our favorite. With house-roasted beans and a selection of Roman Candle pastries (some of the best in town! it’s the perfect spot to hunker down and get some work done. The space is full of light and beautiful wood details, and a mezzanine up top so you can do some people watching while you procrastinate. Check their blog for community events!" - OMFGCO

We stayed at the Air B n B across the street on our first ever visit to Portland and it was amazing! Check in wasn’t until 4 so we walked in 20 minutes before Case Study closed with no where else to go. We ordered 6 hot chocolates and 3 lattes and the kind lady behind the counter didn’t give us any grief! She was so kind and went the extra mile make each drink adorable with hearts and foam art. The shop is very classy and clean, cozy and calm. Upstairs was filled with people quietly working and there is an attached patio area. I can’t thank her enough for welcoming us in out of the cold and making all those drinks that close to closing time. We appreciate you so much and highly recommend this Alberta Arts District gem!

Efficient & esthetic place to get seasonal coffees. Things you should know: I. PARKING There's free street parking out front. Be warned, you may have to go a block or two away to find an available space, but it's a pleasant walk. II. SERVICE Timely and efficient. The cafe has a variety of ways they brew the coffee and changes up their seasonal menu III. QUALITY Good coffee to milk ratio with lattes ~ we tried the Honey Lavendar Latte and enjoyed it. IV. CAPACITY Fair amount of seating upstairs and outdoors, including a singular, large table on the lower level. No one sat at the lower-level table during our entire visit, likely because the line to order loomed close by it. But at least there's always a guaranteed seat

Stopped by Case Study in Portland for a quick coffee and I’m so glad I did. The cappuccino was spot on and the latte absolutely blew me away. It was the best I have ever had. Smooth, balanced and perfectly crafted. This place knows what they are doing.

So, we all know prices are going up. I appreciate the coffee this place makes, and that inflation is a reality. However, they're already on the spendier side and now are charging $1.50 for a bit of sweetener syrup. $1.50? I know coffee out is a luxury, but I had to register my displeasure at an egregious charge for a half sweet addition to my coffee. One cappuccino+ one latte with sweetener + tip is now ~$20. Guess it's just me and the Bialetti now.

Top fav coffee shop out of all I’ve been to. Love their house hazelnut syrup. Definitely coming back ♥️

Case Study Coffee Roasters impressed me with their flavorful drinks—the peppermint mocha was perfectly festive, and the maple iced latte had a delightful balance of sweetness. The gluten-free scone was fresh and tasty. A cozy spot with great options for everyone!

Great coffee shop in the Alberta neighborhood. The interior feels very homey, with a beautiful mid century modern decor, an impressive caffeine molecule chandelier and a super cool roaster! The rolling garage door is super nice in summertime. If you like interior design, you should check this place out, the owners really did an amazing job. The mezzanine has a lot of seating with plugs everywhere. Did not try the coffee, but the jasmine matcha was excellent.
