"Island Dining North of Downtown I know that the photo looks desolate, but the joint had only just opened, and I was in a rush. You'll have to trust me when I tell you that this one of the most popular restaurants on the block, and a little slice of Filipino heaven. The menu features outstanding sharables—check out the crunchy pork sisig and the chicken salpicado—and a few excellent options I remember from The Philippines, like the bone marrow soup. Whack the bamboo when you're done, and you'll get seven years good luck. Maybe."

The decor in this restaurant is out of this world! 11/10! Attention to detail, colours, bits and bobs, just really nice and you definitely feel transported out of Toronto! The person who took our order was efficient and answered our questions, but didn’t really smile. The second person who worked the floor was much nicer, very welcoming and gave us insight and information about their culture! We ordered a sizzling sisig, coconut ginger vegetables and an Ube drink. The drink was way too sweet for my liking, it was a little difficult to finish it and it was thick! It was marketed as a drink, not a smoothie so I was pretty surprised when it arrived. The coconut dish came next and it was delicious, very tasty with the rice. While we were eating the dish, we noticed that our sisig did not arrive, we actually thought they had forgotten and it was a bummer. But then it came out and it was delicious! I had asked for the pepper sauce on the side, but I thought they mixed it in with the food. Turns out they had forgotten it, so I asked for it and it made the dish even better! I wish they had brought it out sooner so I could’ve eaten it all with the coconut dish. I liked the pepper sauce so much that I asked to purchase it, our server said they don’t sell it, but the second person I asked was able to make some sort of arrangement and sold us some! One of the best sauces I’ve had! This spot is more on the pricey side for the food you get. They also do a little ceremony when you order the “Kamayan” dish complete with drums! I’d visit again, but I’d like for all my dishes to come at the same time :) Edit: I came back and our server (could be the owner) was amazing! She paid very close attention to us and really took care of our order! We got the vegan kamayan :)

My ratings are all over the place here. I have been wanting to attend Casa Manila on 879 York Mills for a while now and I kept delaying because I ordered food at another spot and kept thinking it would be too much stuff. I have got into the Ube. I have not ever attended a Filipino restaurant so, upon entering I was hit with authentic vibes. The ambiance of wood, plants and art crafts that just got you looking everywhere. I was early and had been greeted by a nice young man who greeted with a hello and had given me my much anticipated order! When I got the bag it was light and my first thought was WTF! I had ordered a $14.29 DP UBE Sans Rival slice cake. I had expected the slice to have some weight to it. Not to mention I was being scolded in my car for spending that much on a slice but I thought it would be a big slice. I got in my car with this light bag but I really kept thinking all was well. I got home and my first attention was to rip the paper bag and MAN the cake slice was itty bitty and half the cake was stuck on the top of the plastic container. Now please hear me the cake taste good but, that little piece was a insult to my pockets lol. I have included pictures and I put a pen beside it so you can see how truly small it is. I was told making a UBE cake is a challenge but, if that is the case then charging for that price should make the slice worth it to the consumer as I was disappointed. Very disappointed. I can't comment on the food as none was purchased but I have included pictures. Parking is tight in this location and it can be busy too with the other restaurants so drive with caution and patience.

The service took forever. It was only 3 tables and they didn’t check on us for the first 15min with as much as water. The food came out cold and dry. The pork for example had a huge heap of rice but not enough sauce or meat. Would not dine here again… However i liked the atmosphere and the decor and music was great.

We live an hour outside of the city but we drive here every few months for the food. No other Filipino restaurant in the GTA comes close. Everything is fresh and authentic. Homemade longanisa and tocino, nothing processed. We get the sisig fries every time. Every dish we've tried is good, we've been coming here for over five years and the food just gets better.

I came here as a recommendation but it was a huge disappointment. I mean look at the portion sizes and my hand for reference. Keep in mind each item here is $25. For a few pieces of food? This whole take out was $100. Now let's talk about the food. The beef slices are rubbery, overcooked and bland. Like boiled then covered in sauce. The house salad is literally just store bought green mixed with orange juice as dressing. Soup tastes ok but too soury imo. Chicken is ok but again, just taste like boiled chicken then covered in way too salty sauce. The only tasty item is the garlic rice but there's only a tiny bit. Notice the pattern? Cheap cabbage, cheap chicken pieces, store bought slaw, every item is cheaped out. What a ridiculous establishment. This is far from authentic

Not worth it. The food is overpriced, bland, and the portions are small—We almost haven't finish our lunch as portions is so small. To be specific, our sinigang only has 4 shrimps for $28! Our Caldereta, just 5-6 small pieces of meat for the same price(you can count on the pic yourself as that's just a shallow counter about 1 inch thick so there's nothing more beneath that). Absolutely disappointing. I rarely leave reviews, but this restaurant hit every negative point. I feel scammed.

Edited to reply to the owner: I am never coming back to the restaurant and I hope others don't go either. Worst dine in experience I've had. We reserved our Kamayan experience a week in advanced, received the invoice for our meal, and paid the deposit. Arrived at the restaurant at our reservation time of 5:30 and got seated. Waited for around 45 minutes (6:15) as we saw other tables get served and asked our server when the food was coming. He "checked" with the kitchen and said the food was being prepared. Afterwards, he finally brought out the first course for our RESERVED meal. At 6:30, an hour after we had been seated, we ask our server about our food again, causing a second server to come to our table to confirm our reservation. At 6:40, they bring out our second course, 25 minutes after the first one and 70 minutes after we sat down. Finally got served at 6:50 and finished our meal in less time than it took for the first course to arrive. Throughout our wait, we got no explanation as to why our food was taking so long outside of variations of "our kitchen is very busy." It took multiple times of about our food before it seemed like they were actually making our meal. I could understand if we walked in and ordered half the menu, but this was a meal where we put in our orders a week in advanced and told them when we were going to eat. This also wasn't a one-off instance as multiple tables around us also waited 45 minutes to an hour for their food to final arrive. The most disappointing part of it all was that it seemed the owner was too busy chatting with their regulars to take the time to finish cooking our meal. If I could give this place 0 stars I would.

Google
Decor of the restaurant did not disappoint. I recommend their weekday lunch combos if you are new to Filipino cuisine. You need to call a day in advance to reserve the Kamayan (for the nice large banana leaves display). Minimum for 2 persons and there is extra surcharge. The dishes that we ordered, leaned toward sour taste (including the Chicken Adobo). The chicken meat tasted overcooked to our palate. Overall, it was a new culinary experience for us.

Yelp
Location/Service This place is right by the intersection of York Mills and Don Mills. It's in a small plaza with a few restaurants. There's parking around the back and limited underground parking - it does get pretty packed during peak hours. Interior is very homey and family friendly. The owner really liked to showcase a lot of the different spots within Philippines - so it's nice to see how it's laid out and the culture behind each furniture piece. Staff were very nice - really liked talking to the owner, so very passionate about what she does and the types of food she cooks. Food They do offer weekend brunch buffet - at about $28.95 per person (and add $5 for unlimited drinks). It's the most affordable brunch buffet I've seen so far! There were a lot of options available - ranging from breakfast Philippine food like the eggs/rice/sausage/ube pancakes to lunch heavy items like grilled fish, pork skin/rinds to fusion items like tacos and other cuisines that were fused into the Philippine cooking. This spot gets really busy during the buffet - so make sure to book in advance for a spot. Great for family gatherings!

Yelp
Giving it a 4 star for their Sunday Brunch! I felt like they were smart to pivot and offer this. In the beginning there was only a few tables but eventually the restaurant filled up to a pretty full house with birthday celebrations and the majority partaking in the brunch! Some dishes were definitely more tasty than others but I loved the variety. Ube waffle attracted me there haha but unfortunately I could not taste the flavour. - sisig fries were bomb - tacos were fun to have - garlic rice, just cuz! - they do the fried food really well. Fried chicken was yum! - breakfast options and all the soups were great! - coffee was decent, calamansi iced tea was sweet and refreshing There's a lot of dishes to choose from and maybe because I tried a variety on the same plate, I may have missed mentioning a few more that I really enjoyed. Check out the pics and give them a try, their menu's rotate a bit weekly!

Yelp
There are a lot of places for Filipino food but this one is not a hole in the wall. Decor is interesting and unique with ample seating. The service during lunch seemed like it was the owner and his wife. Menu was diverse so thank goodness we had a pro with us. We ordered the traditional meal with shrimp, beef, pork and chicken skin served with garlic rice on a banana leaf. It took 30mins to prep and once they brought out the large tray they accompanied the delivery with some drums...so cool. The pork was tasty and so was the chicken skin. I loved the garlic rice but the rest was bland. I was expecting more flavour and spice but it was one note. Go there for Kamayan feast because it is a great experience or if you want a unique business lunch. Service and Ambiance is a 5/5 but food quality is a 4/5 ..flavour 3/5.

Yelp
Had an incredible and memorable night with Casa Manila, they are serving Filipino foods and take note there's NO artificial flavours and everything was freshly cooked and served. ‼ They are Canada's FIRST Kamayan Restaurant, a way of showcasing Filipino culture from their interior design and foods. The service was exceptional and they made me feel very welcome like visiting a typical Filipino home.

Yelp
Used to go often. But all ot took, 10yrs ago, for me to stop is to serve my takeout of Lechon that was only fat. I was a regular.. And didn't bother calling to complain. There are many our there now with way better price way better portion and just as good in taste.

Yelp
Not from here but the kare kare is the best! The beef is tender and the peanut sauce is beyond thick and creamy. Must eat it with the shrimp paste for extra flavor. The service was fast. Inside the restaurant felt like you are in the Philippines with all of its decorations.

Yelp
The decor has improved but food has deteriorated. We had bulalo fried milkfish pork sisig and fresh lumpia. Without exception the food was bland and lacked seasoning. Asked for fish sauce for the bulalo and spicy vinegar for the fish. The egg wrapper of the lumpia was way too thick. Miss the old days when food was flavourful.

Yelp
Big disappointment! I have been eyeing this restaurant for several years & I finally placed my 1st takeout order. The food was cold, not freshly cooked, small portion & the taste was mediocre. When I order from a Chinese restaurant, $50-$60 worth of take out will feed about 3-4 people. My order from Casa Manila was over $150 worth of food which fed only 2.5 to 3 people. That's how small the portions were. Ridiculous! It feels like the owners don't give two sh*ts about the quality of their food & service. They're overpriced, overcooked, & overrated. Unfortunately, this was my first & last order. Never again!

Yelp
This place is dog shit. We went to this place due to their "4.7" rating. We ordered chicken sisig and the food came with NO meat. It's made of chicken skin, it look like purée with lots of tenee-tiny small pieces of chicken bones. Sisig is supposed to be "sizzling" but there's not. We told the store and made the complain and said they will bring a new one. We got the same trash chicken sisig and didn't event bother eating it after having to try a small amount to taste it.

Yelp
The place has an awesome ambiance. There are lots of choices in the menu. We ordered the lechon kawali served with some atsara and suka/lechon sauce for dipping. It is very crispy and tasty. Presentation is good too. The kaldereta is too sweet. I ordered mild but i can taste the sweetness instead. I will not order this again. The french fries from the sisig are too soggy and oily for me. I think it's hard not to be if they are to be in a sizzler but it's good to try. The kalamansi is too sweet too but I added more water which made it fine. Next Time we will probably try the kamayan which looks good on the menu. Overall this is a good place to eat Filipino food.

Yelp
I ordered take out they gave me half of the bowl a few pieces of meat bicol express, it doesn't even taste bicol express, it was horrible, the pancit is bland no taste. I waited for 45 minutes to pick up my food, this is the worst pinoy food ive ever tasted

Yelp
Casa Manila is the place for classic, fresh, quality Filipino food that's beautifully plated and served in a cosy island resort-themed setting. The three of us tried the $64.95 CP4 Combo: Fried Milkfish Daing (a crispy fried fish split in half), Crispy Pata (crispy pork hock), Vegetable and Shrimp Pinakbet (okra, beans, squash, tomatoes, eggplant, and shrimp). Pro tip: when you can choose between steamed rice and garlic rice, always choose garlic! This was enough food for four people; the pork is an especially generous serving size. For dessert, we had the buko pandan con hielo and the mais con hielo. We split both of these between three people and it was perfect. These are both sweet, creamy, ice-based desserts that are so good that we like them even when it's snowing outside! The serving staff was extremely kind and patient and despite the busy night, they were so accommodating. Much appreciated!

Yelp
We decided to get some Filipino food from this restaurant as we heard it was good. Service: Got takeout and everything was ready at the designated time. My only complaint is that I asked for one of the dishes to have chilies on the side and they forgot it entirely. Food: Chicken sisig fries - one of their featured menu items as seen in the tv show "you gotta eat here!". The dish as a whole works really well. The fries were crispy yet soft, stacked with nacho cheese, fried chicken skin (think like crunchy bacon but chicken), green onions, red pepper slices, and a bit of lime/lemon. The only thing that would have made this perfect was the spice that they forgot to put on the side for me. Seafood noodles - the noodles are cooked well, soft, has a subtle sauce without being overly salty. There's 8 rings of tender calamari (4 big and 4 small), 4 Mid sized shrimp and sliced egg. I think there's some sort of chicken or pork sisig in there too that adds a nice texture change. Seafood is cooked well. Price: I will have to say that it's pretty pricy for the quantity of food. The quality is pretty good though I'm a bit sad about missing the spice on the chicken sisig. Will definitely come back to try other items.

Yelp
This is for takeout as a close friend wanted to introduce us to Filipino food the right way. Admittedly, this was his second choice as the first choice restaurant suddenly cancelled our order and we had to look for something quickly to feed four hungry adults. We had the Crispy Pork Spring Rolls, Crispy Pork Belly (Lechon Kawali), Garlic Rice, Grilled Pork Belly (Inihaw Liempo), Kaldereta Beef, Crispy Baby Squid and Turon with Halo Halo for dessert. My favorite was the Lechon Kawali, as they were wonderfully crispy but not fatty as it had layers of meat. A close second was the Inihaw Liempo as the charcoal searing packs an undeniable flavor. Both were delicious with the fragrant garlic rice. My partner loved the Kaldereta Beef and the Spring Rolls. All generally delicious. For dessert, the Halo Halo is enough split between two people. I loved all the different textures all in a creamy coconut milk base. Such an amazing meal!

Yelp
First time ordering in this place and I'm disappointed. The The meat is hard as rock and the cake is stale. The quality and quantity is a big NO!Never going to order again.

Yelp
Not impressed with this takeout at all. The rice was hard. The meat was rock hard. The skewer was overcooked. The salad was super sour.

Yelp
Finally came here again for dinner recently after two years of covid limiting us to dining out. The place was completely full last Saturday evening. Make sure you make reservations. We've been here a few times in the past but it was the first time for our friends so I ordered quite a bit since I wanted to give them the full experience. We got the BBQ pork skewers which is a must. We also got the Pancit vermicelli with shrimp, kare kare vegetables, grilled pork, and a chicken dish. My favourite dish was the fried vermicelli which was very flavourful and not too oily. We also got some Pandesal bread and garlic rice. The bread was so good...soft and fluffy. We also finished off with Halo Halo, ube cake, and cassava cake desserts. The ube cake was a bit dry so likely won't be getting this next time but the cassava cake was delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I'm a little ashamed to admit that I'm relatively uninitiated when it comes to Filipino food. I knew I was going to be in the area so I knew I had to stop by to try some They have their own online ordering website. Note that there is a fee to order online and you can see it on your total under taxes. I was able to select a later time for pickup. My one complaint about this place was how early the food was ready. It was ready a full 20 minutes early. I had an appointment nearby and luckily I finished early to get the food but had I picked it up at the time that I requested, it likely would have been sitting out for a while and not optimal. Everything was packaged well. Mostly everything was in environmentally friendly packaging. Only the lumpias were in a styrofoam container. I think this was because they cut holes in the corner to keep the fried goods crispy. The items that were likely to leak (sauce) were wrapped in cling wrap for extra protection. The lumpias were vegetarian and kind of just seemed like spring rolls to me. The sauce that they came with was really good though. It was kind of like a sweet and sour sauce but with since spice to it too. The pancit had a lot of flavour and a good amount of veggies and meat in it. The Crispy Pork Sisig was essentially chopped pork skin that was fried super crispy with diced onions and a mayo kinda sauce on top. The texture was pretty awesome. It is really rich in a fatty kind of way. It was actually a portion for 2 people and 3 of us couldn't finish it. All in all a pretty tasty meal.

Janet C.

Yelp
The staff were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, my food experience was really sub par and I was so disappointed. My salad was seemingly straight out of a bag of an old coleslaw mix added with canned clementines and the main course of grilled chicken with rice was as if it were heated in a microwave before being served and was not hot. So sadly disappointed with the food except the dessert. At the Summerlicious price point of $45 per person, it was pretty steep and not worth the price at all. So shocked that food like that can be served. I had to go the the pub next door afterwards because I was still hungry. I wonder if the Chef has tasted their own food that is served and should explore other establishments to compare to their own. I do give two thumbs up to the friendliness of the waiter as he was very sweet and accommodating.

Yelp
After numerous dine-ins at Casa Manila, I must say that this has become one of my go-to restaurants for authentic Filipino food. The menu is quite extensive and it offers all the classic Filipino dishes from adobo, sisig, and kare kare to vegetable dishes such as pinakbet, tamarind soup, chop suey, and coconut ginger vegetables. Everything I've tried at Casa Manila is delicious. My favourite dishes are the pan-fried bangus (milkfish), chop suey with quail eggs, tortang talong (eggplant omelette), tofu adobo, and garlic rice. They offer healthier carb options such as brown rice and quinoa, which can also be made with garlic. The coconut ginger dishes (e.g. coconut ginger vegetables, coconut ginger prawns) are pretty good as well. They also serve all-day classic Filipino breakfast items such as tapsilog and daingsilog - great if you're looking for a combo meal on one plate. Not to mention that they also offer kamayan (reservation needed) and catering services. The desserts (halo halo, coconut pandan shaved ice, cassava cake, etc.) are refreshing and make a nice end to your meal. Service is very friendly and helpful. Eating at Casa Manila (whether it be dine-in or take-out) makes you feel like you're eating homemade food at a Filipino home.

Yelp
I came here to redeem my Kamayan experience from last week's at Tinuno. I am really happy they had a plant based menu. I ordered the vegan Kamayan feast and was displeased with the garlic fried rice as it was not cooked to my liking. The rice was dry and all I could remember was how amazing the garlic fried rice was at Tinuno. The tofu protein was dry and hard as well, again it was not to my liking. The beans and veggies however were tasty as well as the spring rolls. My friends enjoyed their meat lovers and seafood Kamayan very much and packed the rest home. The portions are very generous and I really liked the separation of the Kamayan feast so it was not shared among our large group of friends. Everyone was happy to have their own Kamayan plate to themselves. The staff was very friendly and our server was super attentive and extremely accommodating when we all came in very hungry so she served a little appetizer to the meat eaters. The vegans were left out but it was okay as we were content just sipping on our vodka cocktails while we wait. The feast took some time to make as we were a large group of 7. Overall, it was a good experience. It is pricier and runs about $33-43 per person for the Kamayan feast. Definitely worth the one time visit.

Deb L.

Yelp
From the moment we sat down, our Server, "Allan" was attentive and polite. We had not been to Casa Milan before; Allan explained the menu options and helped us choose our dinner items. We enjoyed spring rolls, and the entrees were absolutely delicious, colourful and good size portions. The bathrooms were very clean as was the restaurant. We highly recommend this gem of a find.

Yelp
Filipino to Filipino - this place is okay. White man to Filipino - my boyfriend likes this place. Whenever he is feeling under the weather, we always order the bangus or beef sinigang. The sinigang was nice with the good sour kick. Sometimes, it's too salty but for what it is, it's not bad. For myself, I'm a sucker for good kare kare and lumpia but unfortunately, this place is not it. The kare kare has a off taste to it, as if it's nearing expiration. The peanut taste isn't really there and the meat is overly chewy. The lumpia was tiny and flash fried, so the ends of it were burnt and hard. The place itself has nice decor but it does get overly smoky so we tend to order out instead and the service is great.

Yelp
We took the family to try the Kamayan experience. They had seen some photos of the set from a few friends and thought it would be really fun to try. You do need to book ahead so they have the meal prepared for you. I'll start off with the food which was good, and then end with the service and tips which I found to be not the best. The food was pretty good. Everything laid out on a leaf for you and they do provide gloves/utensils if you wish. Each portion is actually fairly large as well, but I do love how all the sauces are over the rice. The food was quite salty but I do think the meats were done well! We did order the fish extra, but it was incredibly dry, so we were a bit disappointed with that. At the end of the night, we got Halo Halo for dessert. It's quite refreshing, and while we didn't really enjoy the mix of textures, I think that's more so up to personal preference. I can definitely see why people like it so much. Service was not great at all. We had a hard time flagging down staff despite it being a small location and there's a lot of them walking around. They also beat a drum each time kamayan is being served which started out really fun and theatrical but that becomes disruptive. Even more disappointing, they charged us an 18% tip which i think is absolutely disgusting. We didn't even get proper service and had to constantly go get someone to help us. I think if you're someone who grew up eating Filipino foods or someone who is just likes to try different foods, this would be a great spot to get a taste of the culture. I personally have had recommendations for other spots for Kamayan. We don't really see anything that would have us returning personally.

Yelp
The food was good but the service was slow and disorganized. We were a group of five, ordered three apps, five mains. Two apps arrived, then two mains, then 45 minutes passed and we had to remind the servers twice in that time. Two mains then arrive. I'm already packing up my food when the last app arrives. We ask again for the last meal. The waitress asks if we still want it, they haven't even started preparing it. We just shared our mains and apps with the friend without his meal so he wasn't hungry and we weren't in the mood to stay any longer. People who arrived after us were served and finished while we waited. Wait staff avoided eye contact with us when we tried to ask for help. When the bill came, they made a mistake on the bill and the item had to be removed.

Yelp
First time back dining in since the pandemic. Came for dinner on a weekday less than an hour before closing and was seated right away. I would recommend getting one of their set combos. We got the $60 one with pancit, pork sisig, kare kare, and garlic rice. We also got bbq pork on the side. Everything tasted great, the bbq and kare kare were standouts. They didn't have many workers in but service was good and food came out timely. They also have a small patio but wasn't open at the time. This place is best for groups as they also have kamayan as well.

Yelp
This restaurant used to be good and now it's very disappointing. You can expect five star prices and two star quality and service. It's gone downhill, I can remember when it used to be my go to place for a delicious hot Filipino meal, and now they serve cold flavourless food and charge just as much as before. I really feel like I just got robbed.

Yelp
3.5 star First off, we liked the vibes here. The atmosphere is inviting and service is friendly. The food was pretty good but not amazing so hence the 3.5 stars. We ordered these dishes: / kamaya feast which is assorted skewers with rice and you're supposed to eat with your hand but we got forks and spoons. The meats were flavourful and we had garlic rice and coconut rice. I would recommend this dish so you get a good sampling of everything. I did find some of the meats a bit dry though / chicken adobo which is a signature dish and I thought the sauce was pretty good but tangy. Chicken again was a little dry. / pork lechon which is supposed to be fatty and tender was a little hard and dry again, but the sauce that came with it was hood / pork spring rolls were tasty / halo halo is an iced dessert dish with jellies, ube ice cream, beans, condensed milk.. it came in a big bowl which definitely can feed 3-4 people. It personally wasn't my favorite version of the halo halo. My go to is the Filipino dessert place upstairs in pacific mall. This version doesn't have much flavour but it's still good. Overall the place has decent Filipino food and is it decent sized restaurant with outdoor patio so it can fit families and groups.

Yelp
We decided to come here for our Mum's b=day as she was craving 'kamayan' feast like Tinuno style, but this one was a little different. For anyone driving to the York Mills location, there is a steep incline going up or down the path on getting parking...This can possibly damage the bottom of your car cover... For starters, the place is not very big, probably can seat about 70 ppl or so.. This place didn't have their A/C working on a hot summer day and our baby was sweating and turning red like a tomato... Here was what we ordered: KAMAYAN PREMIUM MIXED SET 1 (We ordered two of this one) $34.95 PER PERSON + HST Chicken Crackling Chicharon - A few pieces which were alright Shrimp Inasal Skewer - 4-5 shrimp. Was alright Grilled Beef Ribs | Inihaw Baka - 4x cut up pieces . A bit burnt and a bit fatty more than meat. Crispy Pork Belly | Lechon Kawali - 4x cut up pieces. This one was a bit dry. BBQ Chicken Skewers - This one tasted fine. Choice of Steamed or Garlic Rice - Garlic rice still looks like steam rice and didn't really notice the garlic until you taste it. Pickled cucumber, tomatoes and papaya slaw - This was mixed with some coconut light broth of sort... House made dipping sauces - Personally, the above dishes is not the best offering and not filling really for the price tag...My mum was a bit disappointed that its not like 'kamayan feast' like boodle fight version... The only fun part on this one is when staff bring the kamayan dish out they do a little singing and says, 'KAMAYAN'! Bangus Milkfish Sisig - $21.95 - This was probably one of their highlighted dishes Pancit Bihon Chicken & Shrimp- $15.95 - The vermicelli noodles was alright. Grilled Squid -- $19.95 - For this price tag, the squid didn't appear grilled tbh...It looks like it was steam and wasn't really worth it. 7-Up Garlic Tiger Prawns- $24.95 - This was also one of their better dish and the sauce was tasty i'd say. You get about 7x good size prawns. Fried Garlic White Rice- Ordered 2x = $17.90 - Needed extra carbs to fill up more lol Desserts- Turon (2pcs)- $8 This was okay. Ube Sans Rival Slice- $8.95 - This was okay Ultimate Halo Halo -$12.95 - This is their signature dessert where there was a mix of bean, custard, jelly, ice cream etc., Buko Pandan Con Hielo- $11.95 - This was okay Mais Con Hielo- $11.95 - This was okay 15% service charge applies..Overall bill close to $300.. To feed 6x people, its somewhat reasonable...I'm not sure if I'll visit this location again though...There were hits and misses...More misses but then again I haven't tried other stuff in their menu that may be good. Service: 3.5/5 Atmosphere: 2/5 Food: 3/5

Yelp
If you're looking for an authentic, filipino restaurant, this is the place to be. My friend and I walked in on a Wednesday evening around 7pm, and most tables were full. Both my friend and I parked in the back of the plaza as there are limited spots directly in front of the restaurant. We opted to share the following dishes: tamarind soup, chicken adobo, chicken sisig fries, and garlic rice. The standouts for me were the soup and the fries. I loved the tanginess of the soup - definitely a nice hearty addition to our meal. The fries were equally delicious - with ingredients ranging from chicken to onions to ranch sauce, it almost felt like an elevated poutine. Despite being incredibly full and having leftovers from our main dishes, my friend insisted on ordering a slice of their ube cake. We did not regret this decision. I don't usually have a huge craving for desserts, but the generous icing on top of the sweet yam flavour was just the right amount of sweetness. There were two large groups during dinner, which meant that service was a little slow near the end (had to ask for more water and takeout containers a couple of times). Regardless, the waiters were very nice. I live quite close and definitely see myself coming back here, perhaps to try their Kamayan.

Yelp
We had the Cabayan Set and it was great. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Every dish was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation, leaving my taste buds in awe. The service was equally outstanding--attentive, friendly staff elevated the entire dining experience. A perfect blend of culinary excellence and impeccable service, making it a memorable meal worth savoring again.

Yelp
Oh wow how have I not reviewed this resto before?? I've only been here about a hundred times. But after a long while of not coming here a few of us decided to try out their kamayan feast. This is the kamayan dinner you have to try. They give you the soup and appetizers first while they prep your kamayan feast on top of a tray covered in banana leaves. And when its ready, this entree comes out to a drum roll! It is not only beautiful to look at but everything on the table was cooked and flavoured to perfection. Dessert is served soon afterward. Definitely try the halo-halo. Its a show in itself visually and flavourwise. Needless to say our server was very nice. Emulated that Filipino hospitality. I've never had a bad experience at Casa Manila and would recommend to anyone wanting to try authentic Filipino food.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our meal, especially the chicken rice soup. It was flavorful and not too heavy. The decor was also special, with palm trees and bamboo elements. The taro leave stew was also good, it's a new experience since we've never had taro leaves before. The chicken skewers were dry and a bit hard but good flavor. Would go back again.

Yelp
Very friendly people. Got 1 order of ube ice cream to go (make sure you call ahead because they usually sell out). Comes to $9 after tax but holds a few servings. The texture is very stringy and gooey, lots of vanilla taste and is very sweet. Happy to support local businesses in this difficult time!

Yelp
We had the Kama tan feast with 2 other friends. It was so yummy and a fun experience! Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place has such a nice vibe! We loved the environment, the service was excellent, and the food was tasty. We went with friends from the Philippines and they said the food was really good! We will definitely come back to this restaurant!

Yelp
Really wish I enjoyed my experience here a bit more but it was just so-so. I made a reservation for the kamayan feast set #8 with 4 family members. For the feast, you have to call in advance as they prep the food beforehand and only hold one every half hour. They were very detailed over the phone while making the reso, so I thought all would be good. I was told my reservation was confirmed, and even on the day of as I called to add an extra person. My reservation was for 5:30 since they already had their 6:00 slot taken. Upon arriving at 5:30, I was surprised to see that they were just starting to set up our table. They even asked me when my reservation was for and were shocked to hear me say 5:30, even double checking their system to confirm that that was the case. The worker setting up our table seemed very stressed, telling us that no one had told them about our reservation.. so it was a huge miscommunication and very disorganized. Luckily we weren't in a rush, though we didn't actually start eating until a bit after 6. Now for the food. I totally can't help but compare my experience here with the mind blowingly tasty food I've had at other kamayan experiences. I was a bit disappointed as I felt the flavour of the meats were lacking a little, and I found the beef ribs to be bony. It was my sisters first time ever trying Filipino food, and she was impressed. So maybe my experience here was clouded by my superior experience at other places. My favourite part was def the halo halo... so yummy and you get a diff experience with every bite. I do think the pricing is a bit steep, but you are also paying for the nice dining atmosphere. The two kamayan experiences I had prior to this cost $15/person, whereas this is double that. Mind you, here you get the dessert and the setting is a lot more spacious and pleasant. They auto add gratuity which I always hate, but service here wasn't terrible (just average). I think your experience here depends whether you have something to compare it with. For me who has been to 2 other Filipino restaurants where the food was extremely tasty, the food here just didn't meet those expectations. However, having nothing to compare to, my sister thought the food was great. If you are looking for well roundedness, this place offers a nice environment that the other places didn't have.

Yelp
Came here for summerlicious with some friends. One of whom was Filipino. She had mention that this place has quite food Filipino food, though a bit pricey. The food itself was delicious, though not made of particularly good quality materials. The portion size was good, but the food was a bit heavy so I felt a little sick afterwards. The service was extremely slow. Extremely. It felt like there was only one server actually working even though there were four or five of them standing around. Overall, I don't think I will be coming back to this place. The food wasn't bad but there are so many delicious Filipino places in Toronto, what with its slow service and it's mediocre quality, I'm not sure what makes it stand apart from all the other places.

Yelp
Attended a celebration at Casa Manila with friends. This was my first time going to a Filipino Restaurant and trying a Kamayan Dinner. The experience was exceptional. The service was outstanding. Our host Mila (C.E.O) was amazing! She explained the background of the Kamayan dinner to how to enjoy the meal. The wait staff was also always happy to help. Our The decor and atmosphere was amazing and fun with lots of history and background. All of the dishes were scrumptious and full of flavour. They use local Ontario beef, pork and chicken, cooked with sea salt, tamari gluten-free spy sauce, premium spices without adding MSG. Another amazing addition to the meal was the Calamansi Mojito. It may have been a virgin but it was mouthwatering that I couldn't seem to get enough! There is plenty of parking at the plaza. If you cannot find one outside, there is space underground.

Yelp
we would like to choose 0 stars, as one star is too high! We payed $67.00 for the tiniest serving I have ever seen?! The adobo was not even remotely close to picture on the menu, honestly, it looks like a tv dinner tray of slop! we ordered two servings of chicken spring rolls, they didn't even give us what we ordered, we got the smallest, thinest soggiest spring rolls I've ever seen, and to top it off, they gave us an order of soggy vegetable spring rolls!? So disappointed, my first and very last time going to this rip off of a place!! Shame on the owners that allow the costs to be so high for soggy disgusting slop! Honestly, we wouldn't have paid $10.00 for the amount and condition of slop that we received, let alone almost $70.00 for complete soggy garbage! Complete sham! Save your money and go to Seafood City or Jollibee; food is way better and the serving is bigger! Will never go to this horrible place again! shame on the owners for this slop they call food!

Yelp
Classy Filipino place provides a great energy and good meal for a high price point. WHAT WE GOT: Kamayan! Set #1 Beef Soup, Chicken Chicharon, 7-Up Garlic Prawns, Grilled Beef Ribs, Crispy Pork Belly, Chicken Skewers, Ginger Vegetables, White Rice Expect $43 - $45 per person (mandatory 20% tip). WHAT WE LIKED: Beef ribs were good, skewers were solid; crispy pork belly was SO GOOD BUT SO FAT. (I should rephrase: So good BECAUSE so fat!). The service deserves a shout out; they are so accommodating. Our group had a person with a seafood allergy AND a vegetarian, and they prepared separate Kamayan orders for them. Score! WHAT WE DIDN'T: the vegetarian Kamayan was fairly mediocre. There are probably better options for Vegetarians, but it's tough in a Kamayan setting (everyone pays the same). It's definitely not worth the $40+ for vegetarian. Even for the meat eaters, the quantity to price ratio is actually pretty small: you're paying for the experience. Lastly, the parking can be pretty rough. WHAT I'D GET NEXT: Sisig I heard is decent here! PARKING/ENTRANCE/DECOR/SEATING We came here on a Friday night in a group of 12 ish. The plaza they're in is SMALL... and there are cars everywhere. Once in the plaza, go straight towards the back and turn right - there's about 10 underground parking spots that most people miss. Otherwise, you could try parking at Galleria next door. Once you're in, it's pretty brightly lit and welcoming. Very nice to see on a cold winter's day. The restaurant was mostly full when we got there - glad we made reservations. They have an interesting table system for Kamayan where they will reserve TWO sets of tables for you (so, in our case, we had 12... so we had 24 spots). The second table is for dessert. I suppose they could still serve people at that second table as long as they left on time... but that didn't happen that day. SERVICE and WASHROOMS Service is amazing. It's loud, proud, and smiles all around. As noted, they're great about accommodating food restrictions. They make a pretty big deal out of the Kamayan experience and it's a sight to see. Water refills are on-point. Washrooms are beside the entrance when you walk in and are pretty clean. If you're like my friend and completely didn't see the urinal in the Men's... it's RIGHT THERE, Jerry! FOOD Beef soup: decent but unspectacular Chicken Chicharon: hmm, definitely unhealthy but quite crunchy. I'd say the taste to unhealthy ratio is NOT worth it... but I ate most of the ones served on my side anyway since nobody else would LOL! Garlic Prawns: good size, tasty. Grilled beef ribs: they're good! Not too stringy like some places. 3 small pieces per serving. Crispy pork belly: any version of Chinese style roast pork is SUPER SKINNY AND LEAN compared to this. This is like LARD ON LARD, dripping fat juices fat. 3 to 4-ish per serving. Chicken skewers: tender and tasty! 2 per serving Vegetables: typical veggies. Mostly green beans is what I remember, but I'm sure there was more to it. ALL IN ALL, worth trying once, and maybe that's it. I heard there are a lot of Kamayan options in the city, so I'd venture to say I'll try it elsewhere before coming back. In terms of regular Filipino food, I suspect there are more budget-friendly places that might not have the same WOW factor and service, but have equally tasty food in bigger portions?

Yelp
Overall nice little place, friendly staff, and good bang for your buck. The only issue I had was that the food was semi warm when it arrived and there was only one other table in the restaurant. I firmly believe if the food was made fresh or was at least presented as fresh or hot then it would 5 star.

Yelp
I've been to Casa Manila several times for their Kamayan sets - I've tried a variety of their basic sets as well as their premium sets. Expect service to be slow; however, servers are always friendly. The most recent time I went was for a coworker's birthday and we ordered basic set #1 ($30). Unfortunately, there was a party of 25 (?) people that were dining at the same time, which delayed the usual slow service even more. Overall, the food was good and our favourite was the Halo Halo (dessert); the most disappointing dish was the soup, as it was heavily salted with msg. Also, be prepared to pay for auto-gratuity of 20% when you order any of their Kamayan sets (as noted on their website) as well as $1.50 cake cutting fee per person if you bring your own cake in.

Yelp
We dined here a few days ago and I can say that among all the Filipino restaurant I've tried, so far they have the most consistent and authentic flavor of traditional Pinoy dishes. I personally liked the crispy pata as the serving was huge and really crispy and juicy. Service was also okay despite the resto being busy with only about 2 to 3 people running tables. The waiter with glasses was particularly nice to us, he smiled while taking our orders and can even get along with the humor. His English was so natural and we're surprised he's only been here for a year. Two of my friends actually said he's cute and I agree haha. I guess more reason to come back lol.

Yelp
2 pork skewers priced at $24.00. It wasn't even that good. I can get this for 3.50 per stick at the most A total scam! I advice, you review your bill before you pay.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken sisig on fries and garlic rice and it was delicious. I ordered takeout and can't wait to go back and have a dining experience here. So cozy and has an island vibe to it. I would say the price is average and it is great for sharing.
