Excellent location. Staff were really helpful. Our room was a good size and clean. The complimentary mini bar and spirits were a nice bonus - we also had a birthday message and chocolates left for us. Also the Executive lounge was great for pre-dinner drinks and snacks. Will definitely return in 2025

Absolutely perfect stay for us. Check in was efficient and straight forward. We were in the executive lounge. Patrick and John were the perfect hosts and looked after us very well. They also dealt with a tricky situation with other guests in the most professional manner. Hotel room was a great size, bed was enormous and comfy. Breakfast was outstanding. Overall a great stay.

We have stayed here before, a few years ago but we were a bit worried, based on reviews, that the hotel had lost its magic. This was a fab visit - we were given a “concept” room, which had been refurbished to a very high standard and definitely gave us a very favourable experience. We had an executive room, with mini bar, which was replenished. The executive lounge is feeling tired but the staff really made the lounge a great experience. The hotel is right in the heart of the city but there was no noise and we slept very well. We would love to return soon.

From the minute we arrived to leaving we had a wonderful experience. Fast efficient check in from Magda who couldn’t have been more helpful. She was polite friendly and informative. ||House keeping was fab too. Great friendly service from Jill. Rooms were immaculate. ||Now onto the lounge. The two boys taking care of us Patrick and JohnLuke were outstanding. They went above and beyond. Thanks guys. Warm friendly service. ||Breakfast. Many of them we have had but this was 5 star plus. do not go here if you are vegetarian, vegan or muslim! they served us ham sandwiches with our "vegetarian" afternoon tea went here for afternoon tea on the rooftop, a regrettable experience all round. we requested a vegetarian afternoon tea and they served us ham sandwiches, views from the rooftop were obstructed and not that great, and multiple food items were stale. not impressed at all, especially considering the extortionate price we paid. really, I really can't overemphasize how massively over priced this was. not worth the money for the food or the experience. do not go here. that said, staff were lovely.

Staff were lovely, but tired, shabby room. Flat pillows and a bottom sheet that would not tuck under the mattress. Our dirty window overlooked nothing, looked like a prison courtyard. We paid nearly £280 for two nights, room only. Definitely not worth half this price! Air conditioning did not seem to be working, and after our first night Gavin sent someone to look at it. It was fixed but we couldn’t put it on and have the tv on at the same time it was that loud. I could not fault the lovely Gavin, but we will be going to Premier or T. Lodge next time. I was very disappointed as I had bought this for my husband’s birthday.

Hotel in great location. Great breakfast. Rooms a little dated and elevator malfunctioned and we had to pry our way out. Great price and it was what we expected.

I chose this place because it looked close to the train station. It's literally across the street from the train station. So that worked. The hotel itself is delightful. It's not so tall that the rooftop breakfast give you an amazing view. But at seven stories, you get a decent view. Down the street about two blocks is the city square with statues to make fun of lots of selfie opportunities. Also, a great meeting place for folks staying a lesser hotels. I noticed that there are lots of pictures of the booze in the room. I have to say, I took one. Decanters of actual whiskey, gin, and vodka - not your average hotel. But I decided to post a picture of the artwork in the hallway instead. Quick note about the staff: REALLY great staff. Two of us in my party needed to print something. Brian's way important, mine was not. But we both received great service and a concern for our needs. Between all that and early check-in, looking after our bags, and helping out at every turn, we were very pleased with the staff. Overall, a good value and a great location.

The entry to the hotel is so welcoming and inviting with the roaring fire. Staff ate so helpful and pleasant. The room is faultless with a stocked mini bar with everything you could want. The room included dressing gown and slippers. The perfect way to unwind. The executive lounge had unlimited drinks and light bites. We just love this gem in the middle of the city centre.

This is a nice hotel and the rooms are fairly spacious. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We got the executive lounge access offer, but considering what they give you complimentary in the room, I don't think the executive lounge is that great of deal. There were basic liquors and mixers available, red and white wine, and a selection of beers. The lite snacks were some cheese and crackers, and slices of pepperoni and then some jars of popcorn and candy were available. I guess they do limit the number of people per time slot, but no staff were checking on the room during our slot so if someone else in the room eats all of the snacks... they are not restocked.

We stayed in the Carlton George for a single night (September 2018) after a long flight in from Los Angeles and it was a wonderful stay in a very comfortable room. We stayed in an Executive Room with Club Access and it was absolutely worth it. We had received food on the plane, so we didn't feel like eating out. The snacks (crackers, cheese, some jams and olives) and drinks in the club were the perfect amount for the night until breakfast the next morning. The room and the entire hotel were both very quiet and comfortable. The mattress was great and the shower had great pressure. Plus, the complimentary drinks and snacks in the room were a nice addition. We definitely drank some of the whisky and ate some of the snacks. The service was outstanding. We didn't have the right kind of charger when we arrived, but the concierge let us borrow a charger for the night and showed us on a map where to go to find a charger. He also helped us with parking, which was a little tricky due to construction in the area. We managed to park in George Square overnight and just moved the car in the morning.

Lovely spot for afternoon tea- very friendly service and weather permitting a really nice view from the rooftop restaurant. You do not need to stay at the hotel to stop in for a bite to eat and it is nicely located beside Queen st station, George square and all the city centre shopping. We had a vegetarian in our group and they were more than happy to accommodate with sandwich choices and a diverse selection of yummy cakes were offered too.

Good location, good breakfast, most of the staff are great... some need a pep talk or new vocation but the good ones make up for the rest... would recommend and will return.... some updating is needed... TVs are old and HVAC not good... however a nice base camp in Glasgow.

The Carton George is a lovely boutique hotel ideally located in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The hotel has 64 rooms varying from superior to executive to club. Personally I prefer the look of the new, subtler, contemporary rooms to the more old fashioned rooms which look a bit gaudy. However all the rooms come with cosy robes and slippers, crystal decanters of whiskey, gin and sherry, a complementary mini bar and luxurious toiletries. The Carlton George is known best for its rooftop Windows Restaurant which boosts stunning views of the Glasgow skyline. The food served is classics such as steak au poivre and chicken supreme. Price wise you can expect to pay upwards of £15 for a main course. The quality is excellent though and combined with the amazing views it's a price worth paying.

Very nice place to stay if you're ever in Glasgow. The room was very nice. The view from the rooftop restaurant was amazing, the food was good also. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of the city centre shopping area. The only downside was the parking is a bit far from the Hotel.

Stayed in this hotel several times , rooms very comfortable , executive bar is lovely - complimentary drinks !! Staff always courteous too ! Dinner / breakfast in restaurant always delicious ! Really is Glasgows hidden gem !

Very traditional and quaint hotel very well located in the centre of the town; tartan decor - but still tasteful. Large amounts of free alcohol available both in the rooms and the club lounge. Possibly a bit pricey - especially if you dont drink.

The first thing that attracted me to this hotel was that it is four stars so i thought it could not be that bad.It is very close to glasgow queen street station and the underground.The entrance has lovely marble flooring-very annoying when they forget to put a wet floor sign down and you slip on it!!!.The person i went with was disabled so this hotel was goos as it has disabled access and parking.The lift was working when i went.The hotel was not a bad price either,i have paid more for worse hotels.The staff were helpful-they helped me with the wheelchair and my luggage.

ovely hotel. rooms excellent and comfortable. air conditioning not working just turn it off and open the window as the rooms are very warm. the satff are efficent and nothing is a problem to them. excellent location to all amenities shopping, bars, clubs, and underground. do not go for breakfast. we waited 45 minutes till they replenished the breakfast bar and eventually got up a left. went to local starbucks for a coffee and coissiant. told duty manager who was polite but our bill did not reflect our complaint, we had to pay the full amount. all in all for location , comfort , and staff we will stay there again.
