Carlton George Hotel

We had a 2 day break at the Carlton George, check in was very pleasant and quick with the nice young lady on reception who told us everything we needed to know. we had an excecitive room which was very spacious and had a mini bar and also had decanters of whisky gin and vodka. we also had access to the excecitive lounge for 2 hours at night , brand spirits, beers, wine etc and snacks, it was very relaxing. The breakfast in the mornings was the best we have tasted. yummy !!!. |We would like to say to all the staff from reception, restaurant, excecitive lounge thank you for a lovely stay at the Carlton George.

Desk bought through Itison great deal I must admit but not what it said in the tin|Decanters in the room were about 1/4 full leaf to believe you had 3 decanters with spirits we did but not as advertised. 2pkt of biscuits to have with coffee. Coffee cups different sizes|Drinks in executive lounge were ok but no snacks as advertised so again not as stated in the deal. When I asked for snacks was told they were finished as they had last min bookings so didn’t have enough snacks for everyone 😩. |The breakfast I must say was beautifull plenty choice of continental & you could have freshly cooked products. The staff were lovely and very efficient |Would I stay again yes I prob would if I got a deal but you need to take care if the details that let the hotel down

We visited this fantastic hotel with family and friends for a 60th birthday celebration and everything about our stay was top class. Even before we arrived at the hotel my husband and I had been offered a complimentary upgrade from an executive to a club room to celebrate my birthday.|On arrival we were greeted by a lovely, friendly receptionist who explained all we needed to know about our stay.|On arrival at our room there was a birthday banner on the door and chocolates with a happy birthday message on our bed - such a thoughtful touch.|All members of the hospitality team we met in the hotel were very welcoming and friendly. The executive lounge was amazing, very cozy and relaxing with a good selection of branded spirits, beers and wines to suit everyone in our group. |The rooms were fantastic, being very spacious with super comfy beds, dressing gowns, slippers, luxury toiletries and decanters with whiskey, gin and vodka together with beautiful glasses to serve the drinks in. |Having stayed in other Glasgow city centre hotels which were pleasant enough, after our stay at the Carlton George we will look no further - the George will now be our ‘go to’ Glasgow hotel.|Thank you to everyone in the team for your wonderful, friendly, professional hospitality and for making my birthday stay so very special. We all look forward to returning again soon. Please don’t change, you are getting everything spot on!

The location and facilities offered are really great. The best value is the rooms with executives lounge access. Staff were all helpful and friendly and keen to assist in every way.

This hotel used to stand out from the rest with its courtesy bar in the room and access to the lounge upstairs .I have stayed numerous times but won’t be any more mini bar has shrunk 1 packet of crisps to share and couple of biscuits nothing like it was .An executive room that has a broken vent on the window facing another building 30 ft away ,how anyone can call pillows fluffy isa joke they disappeared into the headboard.After paying the extra cost to get access to the lounge for Valentine’s Day |disappointed is an understatement ,this used to be comfortable lounge with lots of snacks a wide range of snacks and a really nice feel to it ,not now no staff to clear tables etc ,snacks what a joke couple bits of cheese and meat and a bar that is left to run out of items as no one there to re stock .|I know Carton will reply to this and say so sorry like the feed back and they are disappointed in my experience bla bla bla but nothing will be done |There are many more hotels in Glasgow who may not supply me with a packet of plain crisps few free drinks but still have much more to offer|New customers may like it way it is but its loyal customers remember it as it was and won’t be back

If I could give zero stars I would. We complained about a noise in the room, manager came to investigate and never returned. Left in a city we don't know and no where to stay because a refund takes 48 - 72 hours Ridiculous service and will never return! Stayed before and it was lovely so we know this noise isn't a refusal problem but the fact we complained and there were basically ignored makes it worse. Thanks for nothing and thanks for ruining what was suppose to be a magical night for us

Fantastic hotel, price was a bit inflated but still was a worth while trip. Would definitely attend again. If your on a budget this place is simply not for you

Hotel in great location. Great breakfast. Rooms a little dated and elevator malfunctioned and we had to pry our way out. Great price and it was what we expected.

I chose this place because it looked close to the train station. It's literally across the street from the train station. So that worked. The hotel itself is delightful. It's not so tall that the rooftop breakfast give you an amazing view. But at seven stories, you get a decent view. Down the street about two blocks is the city square with statues to make fun of lots of selfie opportunities. Also, a great meeting place for folks staying a lesser hotels. I noticed that there are lots of pictures of the booze in the room. I have to say, I took one. Decanters of actual whiskey, gin, and vodka - not your average hotel. But I decided to post a picture of the artwork in the hallway instead. Quick note about the staff: REALLY great staff. Two of us in my party needed to print something. Brian's way important, mine was not. But we both received great service and a concern for our needs. Between all that and early check-in, looking after our bags, and helping out at every turn, we were very pleased with the staff. Overall, a good value and a great location.

The entry to the hotel is so welcoming and inviting with the roaring fire. Staff ate so helpful and pleasant. The room is faultless with a stocked mini bar with everything you could want. The room included dressing gown and slippers. The perfect way to unwind. The executive lounge had unlimited drinks and light bites. We just love this gem in the middle of the city centre.

This is a nice hotel and the rooms are fairly spacious. The room and bathroom were clean, and the bed was comfortable. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We got the executive lounge access offer, but considering what they give you complimentary in the room, I don't think the executive lounge is that great of deal. There were basic liquors and mixers available, red and white wine, and a selection of beers. The lite snacks were some cheese and crackers, and slices of pepperoni and then some jars of popcorn and candy were available. I guess they do limit the number of people per time slot, but no staff were checking on the room during our slot so if someone else in the room eats all of the snacks... they are not restocked.

We stayed in the Carlton George for a single night (September 2018) after a long flight in from Los Angeles and it was a wonderful stay in a very comfortable room. We stayed in an Executive Room with Club Access and it was absolutely worth it. We had received food on the plane, so we didn't feel like eating out. The snacks (crackers, cheese, some jams and olives) and drinks in the club were the perfect amount for the night until breakfast the next morning. The room and the entire hotel were both very quiet and comfortable. The mattress was great and the shower had great pressure. Plus, the complimentary drinks and snacks in the room were a nice addition. We definitely drank some of the whisky and ate some of the snacks. The service was outstanding. We didn't have the right kind of charger when we arrived, but the concierge let us borrow a charger for the night and showed us on a map where to go to find a charger. He also helped us with parking, which was a little tricky due to construction in the area. We managed to park in George Square overnight and just moved the car in the morning.

Lovely spot for afternoon tea- very friendly service and weather permitting a really nice view from the rooftop restaurant. You do not need to stay at the hotel to stop in for a bite to eat and it is nicely located beside Queen st station, George square and all the city centre shopping. We had a vegetarian in our group and they were more than happy to accommodate with sandwich choices and a diverse selection of yummy cakes were offered too.

Good location, good breakfast, most of the staff are great... some need a pep talk or new vocation but the good ones make up for the rest... would recommend and will return.... some updating is needed... TVs are old and HVAC not good... however a nice base camp in Glasgow.

The Carton George is a lovely boutique hotel ideally located in the Merchant City area of Glasgow. The hotel has 64 rooms varying from superior to executive to club. Personally I prefer the look of the new, subtler, contemporary rooms to the more old fashioned rooms which look a bit gaudy. However all the rooms come with cosy robes and slippers, crystal decanters of whiskey, gin and sherry, a complementary mini bar and luxurious toiletries. The Carlton George is known best for its rooftop Windows Restaurant which boosts stunning views of the Glasgow skyline. The food served is classics such as steak au poivre and chicken supreme. Price wise you can expect to pay upwards of £15 for a main course. The quality is excellent though and combined with the amazing views it's a price worth paying.

Very nice place to stay if you're ever in Glasgow. The room was very nice. The view from the rooftop restaurant was amazing, the food was good also. The staff was very helpful. The hotel is right in the middle of the city centre shopping area. The only downside was the parking is a bit far from the Hotel.

Stayed in this hotel several times , rooms very comfortable , executive bar is lovely - complimentary drinks !! Staff always courteous too ! Dinner / breakfast in restaurant always delicious ! Really is Glasgows hidden gem !

Very traditional and quaint hotel very well located in the centre of the town; tartan decor - but still tasteful. Large amounts of free alcohol available both in the rooms and the club lounge. Possibly a bit pricey - especially if you dont drink.

The first thing that attracted me to this hotel was that it is four stars so i thought it could not be that bad.It is very close to glasgow queen street station and the underground.The entrance has lovely marble flooring-very annoying when they forget to put a wet floor sign down and you slip on it!!!.The person i went with was disabled so this hotel was goos as it has disabled access and parking.The lift was working when i went.The hotel was not a bad price either,i have paid more for worse hotels.The staff were helpful-they helped me with the wheelchair and my luggage.

ovely hotel. rooms excellent and comfortable. air conditioning not working just turn it off and open the window as the rooms are very warm. the satff are efficent and nothing is a problem to them. excellent location to all amenities shopping, bars, clubs, and underground. do not go for breakfast. we waited 45 minutes till they replenished the breakfast bar and eventually got up a left. went to local starbucks for a coffee and coissiant. told duty manager who was polite but our bill did not reflect our complaint, we had to pay the full amount. all in all for location , comfort , and staff we will stay there again.
