I asked where I could find tamales?
I remembered that Xmas season is high time for tamales and I was hoping to score some today. It's one of my husbands favorite food.
There is very limited parking spots at the storefront which is located at a busy corner intersection. I decided I should try to park along the street and walk to the shop.
Inside the shop, I was greeted nicely . There are some tables for dining in. Nothing fancy, but you can choose to eat here if you want to. There are many things to order besides tamales! They have burritos, tortas, combo plates, soups, tacos, tamales, drinks , pastries, cookies and specials of the day.
The young lady at the counter was pleasant and waited patiently while I asked her a couple questions and then took my order. I got 1/2 dozen chicken(pollo) with green sauce ( verde). My order was ready in no time, about 5 minutes.
My tamales were fresh and hot! I didn't really expect it to be. My husband got a nice treat when I got home. He eats it plain.
Btw, the menu is in Spanish. My high school Spanish came in handy. Although the young miss who helped me spoke English.
* FYI, I noticed after I paid that there are different prices for the items. It depends whether you pay cash or by credit card. It's about $ 0.32 less if you pay cash!
I'll be stopping by here again, now that I know there's HOT tamales served here .
