Camping Fischers Fritz

We had an amazing experience at this camping, an arrival with welcoming staff. Turned out we had reserved a wrong standing place which was more expensive. They told us not to worry and got us the right spot for an even cheaper price. Our tent was 5 steps away from the lake with a beautiful sight, good utilities to clean yourself up. One day it rained so we asked if we could cook under the shelter, they were so nice about it and even gave us their lighter. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a nice, well priced stay not too far from Zürich.

My first visit to this campsite. I find it great that it is also open in winter, plus it is easy to find. The view of the lake is fantastic, the bathrooms are clean. I will definitely come back in the warmer seasons, because I think it is a nice location for a few days of relaxation by the lake. Thank you!

The campsite is crowded in summer, but we liked that. There’s a nice atmosphere and we could put our tents right at te lake. The location is perfect, only 20 minutes cycling to the city center. Definitely best price to stay a night so close to Zurich. We liked it!

Fantastic option close to Zurich... only a few minutes by bus. Beautifully situated by the lake. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Facilities are a bit dated but sufficient and clean.

My family had a very nice experience while camping metres away from the beautiful view of the lake. We would like to thank in special way the guys that work at the reception, they were polite and helpful since day one. Well done indeed.After driving for hours all the way from London we appreciated not only the fact that the guys spoke fluent English but their courtesy as well. We hope to return soon and for a longer stay. Also bring our own Swiss adaptor ( this time it was politely given to us) , thank you .

Almost 70€ just for parking our autocaravan there. It's way too expensive. Price is summing up for the autocaravan + per person + per dog and doesn't make any sense as we will sleep in the car.

Fischers Fritz seems to be an operation that makes it's money with a restaurant, renting the little bay at Lake Zürich to a water ski company that offers water ski rides to external people, a hang out place for City people, a little harbor for pleasure boats and in the last place a camping. When checking in, first 3 topics: ID, Credit Card, parking policy. You'r not allowed to park the car that pulled the caravan on the camping, that has to be parked on public parking lot across the street. For extra payment of course. When I asked what the (free) parking spaces on the premises were for, they replied for guests for the restaurant. The little spot we got for our caravan was on concrete structure. Likewise we had to get out electricity from a distribution panel across the lane. The cable on the pavement, exposes to big heavy RVs maneuvering all over the cables. No mechanical protection for the cable. One distribution panel missed the access doors leaving 230 V circuit brakers exposed to the environment and children's fingers. The sanitary seemed clean. But the sanitary was very old. When taking a shower there is no means to take some private belongings with you, it either gets soaking wet or you need to dress, undress with the others in the central bath room. Male and Female are strictly separated. The camping is unmanaged during night. So youth from the city, to whom they granted payed access, partied till late in the night. When asked to keep it quite, they became quite aggressive. All in all: Safety, privacy and comfort is not something you can expect at on the Camping of Fischers Fritz. If parties, waterski and watching expensive cars of guests of the restaurant is your thing? - This seems to be your place.

I had a wonderful experience staying at this camp. It was clean and inviting, with plenty of amenities such as running water and a warm shower. The lighting was pleasant, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this camp as a great place to stay, with prices ranging from 45 to 55.

I don't get the hype of Fischer Fritz. It is super popular and not easy to get a reservation (but they reserve some of the tables for walk-ins but those are the tables at the back). As it is next to the Zurich Lake it is obviously a nice location, the view is really nice but in my opinion there are other places with the same view and a better menu. While it is called Fisher Fritz (German for Fisherman Fritz), they don't have a wide variety of fish dishes on the menu: they have fried fish and one baked trout. I had the trout and it was just average. However the side salat I did not like: it was swimming in dressing... so much so that I didn't eat it. My friends had the fried fish and said the truffle fries were more tasty than the fish. In addition, the service is not good at all, we had to wait forever, and several mistakes were made, no apologies given. It is a bit out of your way as it isn't in Zurich centre and I don't find it worth to go there as there is many better places at the lake.

By far the best truffle fries and fish knusperli I've ever eaten in my life. This place gets very busy for good reason, but they also have a stand where you can order sushi (also fish from the Zurich sea) to hold you over until dinnertime... which ends up making you eat and spend way more than necessary, but I suppose that's the fun of eating out in Zurich. Ammiright?! The area is absolutely beautiful. It attracts plenty of posh Zurich people, but it feels chilled and relaxed, and I absolutely love it. It's right next to a camping platz which I think is cool and different. There are plenty of lovely places you can sit and wait while you sip on your drink (or eat that 28CHF sushi) before you're seated. And oh my god. Those truffle fries are so good.

Possibly my worst experience in a restaurant in Zurich!!! The place is wonderful, but the staff not so much especially the "Manager". We arrived as a small group of 4 friends on a nice Sunday for lunch and ordered 3 poke bowls and a Wienerschnitzel, while eating one of my friend found in his mouth quite a big METAL STAPLE, the ones used to staple stuff to the wall!!!! Thank God he did not swallow it or the HEALTH CONSEQUENCES could have been MAJOR!!! The very kind brunette waitress immediately apologised and offered to bring something else, but my friend did not want to risk his health again, and of course we were all worried about what else we could find in our food. She then apologised once more and told us that everything we would eat or drink would be on the house. Thankful for the offer, we decided not to bring the matter forward and decided to try to enjoy our lunch. Two minutes later the "Manager" comes to our table, at first, seemingly to apologize further and offer new food to our friend, but soon he changed tone of voice and while becoming aggressive and rude he told us that the waitress was mistaken: since the rest of the table looked like we were enjoying our food, we were expected to pay for everything except for the drinks (sparkling water and an ice tea...) and our friend's botched food!!  What an absolutely rude and unacceptable behaviour, he ruined not only our lunch but the whole mood as well!!!!!  It is certainly not a matter of money, it is a matter of manner and respecting your guests after an unacceptable event and taking back one's word made them look even worse! We probably should have reported the matter to Lebensmittelkontrolle, as hygiene is evidently very poor in their kitchen if METAL STAMPLE end up in guests' salads or poke bowls.... One thing is for sure.. we will never go to Frisher's Fritz again, there are other places on the lake that care about client experience and with much higher quality!

The most beautiful and romantic view, went there before the sunset time and it was the highlight of my trip in Zürich

The location is beautiful and would go back just for that. The food is not very good i had the wrapped fish and it was very dry. The all you can eat wings were also very dry. I gave it 3 stars because i fell in love with the place it is very romantic and the lake is just there ready for a dip ...its just a beautiful location.

Fresh as it gets! As the name indicates, fish comes in from a local fisherman which the restaurant then prepares on a localized menu. Ideal setting on the lake within the camp grounds in Wollishofen. Rent a city bike (Zürirollt) for free and cruise to enjoy beer on the lake!

lovely place basicly on the lake. unique location within a campground. very fresh food and fair pricing. also fun in winter when they set up a tent outside... go for a table inside close to the window. in summer you obviously want to sit outside....

Extremely slow and bad service. We booked and waited 25 minutes to be seated. After one hour we were still waiting for our food. The staff was rude and unhelpful, mainly because they're severely under staffed. I will never come here again.

Fried fresh fish from Zurich lake...the view on the lake is wonderful and the apetizers are good...it doesn't get five stars only because service is slow.
