Calypso Grill Cayman Islands

Very warm and inviting feeling when you walk in, a feeling of home. The hostess was so very pleasant too, even called the taxi for us when we left! It was nice they bring this big board to your table with specials and it stays near the table till you order...whoever actually remembers the verbal list of specials? We ate entirely too much, otherwise we would have ordered the sticky toffee pudding everyone was raving about...maybe next time. Wonderful view! The plexi was nice to cut the chil of the breeze.

This is a must place to visit for high-end food. The portions were small, and the food was seasoned perfectly. Not too sweet, salty, or drown in butter like other high-end restaurants. The servers were friendly and really took care of the customers. Their sticky toffee pudding was awesome! It was not too sweet, and the fluffy of the pudding is perfect! What I love about the food here is that everything came out hot, it shows that it is cooked fresh and not microwave. Overall, I love the food and the service! If you go here expecting to see the sun set for dinner, then you are on the wrong side of the island. NOTE: Make sure you call the bank and take out a loan before entering the restaurant. Delicious food and good service come with a high price. The location of the restaurant is like a hole in the wall. It is in the "not tourist" part of the island.

Food was ok, the best dish we ordered was the blackened shrimp. The view of the bay was beautiful and we were seated at the edge of the dock. The sticky toffee pudding was also one of our favorite dishes that we ordered!

This was my first dinner on vacation last night. My parents previously came and enjoyed it throughly, so I was excited to try! There were definitely some standouts, and then other dishes that needed some help. The cracked conch was way too salty and I couldn’t enjoy it. The tuna tartare was fabulous. The crab cakes were good but not amazing. I’m guessing the crab wasn’t local. Calypso salad I really enjoyed but do think they used slightly too much oil. For entrees, the best I tried was the fried fish which was an elevated version of fish and chips. Loved every aspect of this dish. I ordered the ginger tuna which was good, but not as great as my parents claimed it to be. My brother ordered the crab linguini which was also too salty. I tried my mom’s seafood gratin which I thought was delicious. We were all so full and couldn’t finish our entrees so we couldn’t try any desserts. The ambiance was lovely and the service was also great. I was just expecting a bit more (and less salt) from some of the dishes!

We were amazed by this restaurant, we are super picky about food but this restaurant deserves me giving a review. We order their oysters which were super fresh!! I ordered the lobster and was super good with a creamy sauce, the waiter recommended the mahi mahi fish and it was amazing, great flavor. For desert you cannot leave without having the toffe pudding it was out of this world. Drinks were amazing our two waiters were Geronimo and Marcelo were super friendly, top notch attention. The view was so romantic

We would happily return - great food, location, and service! The ceviche and ginger tuna were our favorites! Thank you for a nice dinner and evening!

This is quite possibly my favourite restaurant on island. Every dish we ordered is delicious and perfect. You must try the sticky toffee pudding. It never disappoints. It’s also got the most perfect view of the Sound.

Best place for dinner on the island. The place is small, so reservations are recommended. The outdoor dining space is right on the water with a beautiful view. Our server and overall service was amazing. The food is something I will be dreaming about till I return one day. The grilled grouper entree is easily the best fish I have ever had. Drinks were tasty, appetizers were great. To end your meal, you must get the sticky toffee pudding. I highly recommend and will visit again another day!
