"Cafe Victor is a French brasserie with a Danish twist, with decor that takes you back in time. Returning patrons come here for the impressive wine list as well as the outdoor seating. The eatery serves French, European and Danish dishes, standouts include the rack of lamb, stuffed quail or the veal. Don’t forget to ask the servers for some wine recommendations for optimal pairing."

Always good idea. I love how many wine options you have in Victor. Kitchen know what they do! I highly recommend rib eye. Try the wine called Barda if you like Pinot noir and if it matches what you order

Had one of the most phenomenal dining experiences for lunch yesterday at the well established and known restaurant, Cafe Victor. Would heavily recommend to anyone looking for a French bistro atmosphere in the heart of Copenhagen. With a twist on many delicious recipes and a wide range of food, this place certainly did not disappoint. Not only that, but the service was also incredible and I have nothing but good things to say about each individual working there! Will most definitely be coming back to try more on the menu, and perhaps, have another of their great Creme brûlée’s 🤭

A really old drinking place with quite a history. The colleague I went to said that he used to come to this place back in his college days decades ago. They have a bar area and a dining area. The drinks we ordered were quite good. And the food was to write home about. I loved the tartare. And even the rhubarb desert was delicious. I’d whole heartedly recommend this place to anyone. But reservations are probably needed if you plan to dine here as it was fully occupied while we were there.

Our favorite spot to have a drink, coffee or beer while in Copenhagen. Warm ambiance and great service.

Google
Absolutely brilliant. Gorgeous food and we were well looked after by the waiters. Our table was a bit squished next to another couple (we were upstairs) but otherwise perfect. We had the goats cheese salad, crab salad, steak, and veal - all delivered to a high standard (and huge portions). Very good and long wine list

Yelp
Located in the center of Copenhagen, this French style restaurant is very authentic. The menu is very varied with items available for meat, fish, seafood, vegetarian and vegan. The white asparagus was excellent. The steak was good and the fries perfectly made. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The local beer is really good.

Yelp
We came here for late night drinks. The bar is trendy and serves cocktails and other beverages. We had a group of five and were seated at a nice table. The bartender delivered our drinks. Drinks were good but pricey. At the end of the evening, we paid our bill and began to leave, but was accosted by one of the wait staff saying that we had not paid for our second round. We had already paid and tipped. I showed him the receipt and that quieted him down. This was pretty annoying and ruined the experience. Next time their staff should communicate better. Ridiculous.

Yelp
Café Victor is an institution in Copenhagen, it's been around for about 30 years. Don't even think about driving, as parking in the inner city absolutely sucks. However, the metro will take you almost right there (Kgs. nytorv). The decor is Parisian. And you will find they have actual linen cloths on the tables (nice). In the summer, you can sit by the large, open windows and watch life and people pass you by. Thursday through Saturday the place is crowded. The drinks are good. The service is okay, but expect to wait to get served.

Yelp
Dear Victor I love having you around. I truly do because it lets me know that some things never die. You have been here forever, and I do love you for that. You have stealth and because of that, you are an institution. But, Victor, why must you be such a snob? Why must you feel a strange need to let your prices hover, when what they pay for are nothing but exactly what you could get anywhere else? It only seems foolish to those of us who have had experience with your younger and less experienced, but also much cheaper (in a good way) colleagues. Your breakfast is good, Victor, but your servers are mostly aloof - except for that one English guy. Why is that a requirement, Victor? Is it par for the course when being an older gentleman such as yourself? Sincerely, A most devoted, yet distant, visitor.

Yelp
I was here with 2 friends on a very busy Saturday evening. The staff was very welcoming and helped us get seated almost immediately. We ordered some drinks and dessert and the waiter was nice enough to recommend us things after our taste (after asking each of us what we like usually) We paid 520kr for 4 drinks (€70) which is a bit pricey but because of the drinks, location and service it is completely worth every penny. The dessert was also very delicious. This is a place I will be returning to, both for nice cocktails but also for lunch and/or dinners.

Yelp
Very fun place but definitely a reservation needed on a weekend Great drinks, fresh fish selection And very friendly staff Take a long look around and observe the fanciful decor Enjoy

Yelp
4.5 stars We stopped in to Cafe Victor for cocktails(ended up with wine) .Very ambient interior filled with great looking people .The bartender was charming and spoke at length to us.He was super nice and managed to secure a table for us -so we could sample some of the house fare. The food offerings are Danish with a French twist, we settled on a cheese plate complete with grapes, olives, walnuts, and flatbread - and we also had a potato and onion sandwich that we split ( very yummy) Dessert was a decently made Creme Brulee. We had already eaten dinner so we really chose simple from the solid menu which offered (Herring,Beef,Seafood,Duck,Poultry ,Foie gras, entrees) ( Oysters,Soups,Salads,Sandwiches,Eggs) And French Desserts, Chocolate,Cheeses. Nice wine choices from 10 countries ..(South Africa, Argentina, Portugal, New Zealand Spain, Italy, Austria, etc.) We enjoyed an Austrian red " Mephisto" . We had a lovely time ! Tak !s

Yelp
I have been searching high and low for good food in Copenhagen and have come up short over and over again. If Cafe Victor is the best of the best, I have totally given up and am just eating to survive. This place is overrated and overpriced. I left the restaurant still hungry and angry at how much money I wasted on my "meal." The wine was good, but almost $20 for 1 glass. The salmon and avocado mousse sandwich came basically on a cracker. It's not a sandwich. It's part of an hors d'oeuvres and it'll run you about $26. Insane. I got a cheeseburger upon exiting the restaurant. Now for the service. The bartender was excellent. Friendly and helpful. But the rest of them? Terrible. I'm so tired of dining in Copenhagen. It's a constant here... bad service everywhere you go and Cafe Victor is no exception. How does this place have any good reviews? I don't understand it.

Yelp
A copycat French bistro, complete with nonchalant waiters and a crowd with a superiority complex, but minus the fantastic food! Jokes aside, it's a great locale, and as someone who has lived in Paris, they have the look down pat. The fries are delicious as well. However, unfriendly service and otherwise mediocre food (I had the tartare and my boyfriend had the Tournedos Rossini) means I won't be coming back here for dinner again. The location just off Strøget is ideal when you're out shopping, so I might try it for a light lunch or an afternoon coffee just for the ambiance and see if that changes my opinion. As it stands, I would have given it 2 stars if it wasn't for the look giving me a bad case of Paris nostalgia.

Yelp
We stopped by Cafe Victor for lunch while on holiday in Copenhagen, at the recommendation of a Danish friend. We were specifically after the smørrebrød and they were tasty! I tried the roast beef and it was served warm over bread with carmelized onions, lots of pickles, a mayonnaise-type sauce and a rather extreme amount of horseradish. I was disappointed that the amount of bread seemed a bit too small for the dish and the pickles and horseradish were pretty overpowering so I had to pick them out. My friends both ordered the shrimp smørrebrød and enjoyed their dishes. The service was lovely and the outdoor seating area is quite nice, but I think the roast beef smørrebrød needs some ingredient adjustments.

Yelp
A staple in CPH. Friendly staff. Dog friendly on the patio. Nice selection of wines. The menu is pretty simple but all excellent choices for dinner. The lamb and mussels I highly recommend. It's always a must when I visit CPH.

Yelp
Delicious lunch and breakfast at this gorgeous cafe right in the heart of the shopping district in Copenhagen. Delicious eggs Benedict and incredibly fresh smoked salmon! Highly recommend the salmon eggs Benedict with caviar !

Yelp
Great food, great ambience, very stylish and good looking people. This is a great place for a business dinner or to meet new people. However, if you are in a hurry, you may want to go somewhere else. I would've given it a 5 stars, but the service still needs a little improvement. The veal liver was perfectly cook and the steak tartar absolutely delicious! You can find different types of people, but all of them seem to be fun and friendly. If you are there just drinks, feel free to get a table on your own or just join someone else. I went there twice within a 1 week business trip.

Yelp
This was a delightful meal. My friend and I both had the asparagus soup and it was reminiscent of some asparagus soup we had (and still dream about) in Paris. I had oysters that were wonderful. The mignonette sauce was delicious and a perfect addition to the oysters. I had the turbot for my main dish and it was perfectly cooked, flaky, light, just wonderful! This was one of the best meals I've had in a while. And...oh my, there was some wonderfully flirty eye candy of male persuasion for waiters. That was just an added bonus.

Yelp
Incredibly friendly staff, near perfect cappuccino. The omelettes were picture perfect, just took a while as the kitchen messed up but they discounted our meal without us asking. Location is perfect for a sidewalk meal

John N.

Yelp
The food was nothing more than ok. The service was terrible, the waiters only came to our table to take our order and leave the food. They were not service minded at all and we had to put our plates on another table for them to even notice that we were done. We recieved recommendations to visit café Victor because it's apparently really good but we didnt got to see any of that goodness... if you have the possibility go to another restuarant!

Yelp
Lovely restaurant in the heart of Copenhagen. I ordered the Eggs Royal and it was a mix of eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and caviar. My fiancé had a dish with herring and he enjoyed it. I loved my dish and would try it again but it was very salty. If you're into a salty and hearty meal then this would be the way to go, especially for breakfast. Our waiter was also very attentive which was nice.

Yelp
Typical French Bistro with a bit of Danish flair located in Copenhagen - food was very good and service was typical French as well ( a bit slow and not overly friendly )

Wade M.

Yelp
This place is wonderful. A friend took me there for a business dinner and it was amazing. The food was good, the ambiance is nice and the staff was friendly. One of my favorite places in Copenhagen.

Yelp
I had a rather unpleasant experience this afternoon with one of your waiters. My best friend and I went there before I leave the country again to have a nice meal as before when I have visited. We sat down at a table which wasn't cleared out after the previous guests. On the paper table cloth is was written " reserved" but we figured it had to be meant for earlier guests since someone just left. The waiter was attending other guests and not approaching us. At some point my friend got eye contact with the waiter and she said hi - he didn't even bother to reply. At this point we had been waiting for 15 min. We waited 10 min more and I asked him when he again turned his back to us if we could have the menu. His answer was " no the table is reserved" I asked in the restaurant about their thoughts and basically they told me they don't care. I wonder if the owner cares? Is it too hard to tell potential guests that the table is reserved and suggest us to sit some where else in the restaurant? How about our tourist in town? Do they get the same kind of treatment? I talked to shop owners in the near by area and they were not surprised about the rude and arrogant treatment. I know for sure that I will NEVER visit this place again and I will not recommend the place to anyone unless they enjoy arrogant waiters.

Yelp
We sat at a table for 2 by the bar. Unbelievable social scene. Terrific food and service. I had veal liver. Husband had moules frites. Very enjoyable evening. Good location across from D'Angleterre Hotel. Sorry that we don't have time to eat here again before we leave. Next time
