I was hoping to go in the shot and pick out my own bag of fresh roasted coffee but they are closed. You can go up to the window or go through the drive through. I like flavored roasted coffees like Cinnamon roasted or coconut flavors. I got there last bag of Vanilla roast but didn't get the vanilla flavor when I brewed in my MocaMaster. Still good coffee but I think I will stick to smaller roasters in North County San Diego where I can watch them roast the coffees and pick out more flavors onsite.

Fantastic Coffee! I really enjoyed the Lil Pump Coffee it was like pumpkin pie in a cup! Expertly crafted highly recommend! I bought some beans to bring home with me because we were visiting the area. If I lived in California I would be a regular here! Decor is artful mod totally hip!

It easily became our favorite coffee shop in SD. We came here twice over the last weekend! Highly recommend their flat white & caramel dulce latte.

A lot of other coffee shops actually source their brand from Moto..The staff at this location is super personable and always has spot-on recommendations for what beans to take home. I finally got to try Cafe Moto this last weekend and gotta say, I read some comments here and didn’t know what to expect from the baristas as their service but the barista who took my order was really friendly and enjoyed my brief experience as I took my order to go. I appreciate they talked to me in Spanish tho. The roast is a little darker for *my* taste but it was good coffee. The pastry was also a little bit too sweet for *my* taste but is was a great combo with the flat white. Can’t wait to visit soon again and try the cold brew now :)

We had Cafe Moto’s mobile coffee cart at our wedding brunch and it was such a hit! It truly stole the show. The coffee was AMAZING as always and the baristas were so kind and great with our guests. A couple guests even inquired about using them for future events. Everyone we interacted with from Cafe Moto was incredibly kind and communicative. The guy who came to set up the cart even offered to help my parents set up the tables for the event that morning. Thank you for making what could have been a stressful day seamless and well caffeinated!

This coffee shop is my favorite one close to the naval base! If you work on the naval base on 32nd, you HAVE to go here—I avoid Starbucks on base after I discovered this little gem. The coffee is so much smoother and black coffee tastes 10000x better than Starbucks’ iced americanos. I keep going here again and again.

I've been a regular at Cafe Moto, and I can't recommend it enough! Not only do they have amazing prices, but the quality of their coffee is top-notch. Their beans are ethically sourced, and you can truly taste the difference in every cup--it's smooth, rich, and simply delicious. The staff here is fantastic--super friendly and always ready to help. Special shout-out to Lili! She always goes above and beyond to make sure my order is just right. Her attention to detail and warm personality put a smile on my face every time, making it the perfect start to my day. If you're looking for a coffee spot that values quality, Cafe Moto is the place to be!

They're coffee is on point! Love the outside patio area as well. Their specialty drinks are incredible but I would also recommend buying a bag of beans for home - so good!! Service is quick and friendly!

I can't rate atmosphere since we had to sit on the street and not in a cafe. The croissant was decent but if I'm paying 5+ I would expect my ham to not just be a small roll in 1/4 of the croissant. Coffee was good and that's why it gets 4* bc the croissant brings down the rating. Now for the reason they get 3* is purely service related. I stood there ignored for several mins and then he didn't even greet me. I gave my order and asked about pastries he acted like he was inconvenienced by my asking what there was in the case. The next person in line got a huge welcome from him and he was very nice to her. They brought 4 other ppl coffee out before mine and my order was taken first, my coffee wasn't hot like a hot coffee should be. Probably won't return sadly.

I absolutely love cafe moto! I get the custom super sweetie which is their nitro cold brew with 2 add shots ‍ forget Starbucks and run to cafe moto, and if you're lucky you'll make it in time to get a vegan Mexican chocolate concha Ben always has new recommendations and they never disappoint

Omggggg! I love this particular brand of coffee. I've noticed it being served at other coffee/ pastry shops and finally know where the original store exists!! The coffee is so flavorful and delicious!!! My fave is the Mexican coffee!!! I look forward to getting some coffee when I'm in the area again!!!

Cafe Moto, a city coffee shop in Barrio Logan, launched Cafe Moto in 1990 but has been roasting coffee in San Diego since the 1960s . However, I first recently tried Moto Coffee while dining at a local eatery in San Diego. From my first sip to the end of the cup, I enjoyed the rich flavors and high-quality taste. The next weekend, wanting more Moto Coffee, I drove down the freeway to Barrio Logan to purchase a bag for home brewing. Cafe Moto offers a wide variety of coffees and prepares each cup to perfection. Beyond their excellent coffee, their culture, vision, and values are impressive, and I was happy to support this local San Diego business. If I I didn't know I was in San Diego, I would I consider that I had been teleported to Seattle. Moto has wide variety of unique and high quality and delicious roasts that have tripled my caffeine intake, decreased my ability to sleep but has completely and cured my ADHD. All that aside, Nicaragua, Las Hermanas Co-Op, Indo Noir, and Columbia Tolima Region, have made some absolutely terrific cappuccino and espresso shots!

We had wonderful service at Motos today. At first we only thought of getting a pour over and then saw the menu & had great drive thru service where the waiter walks up to your car. I had an earl grey with whole milk & lavender which was so refreshingly good. Perfectly made, not too sweet. We also saw people at the patio & swag stand so next time I hope to pop in the store. Great job folks!

Favorite coffee shop. Cheap, organic, supports local businesses & has tables to enjoy your drink in the shade. The wait is quite long, so if you're in a rush I wouldn't come but it is so worth it! They have a drive through set up as well.

The drive thru is adorable and so sweet. I didn't expect to have everything delivered to me by hand -- quite a pleasant surprise. The menu was easy to read and the apparel/merch was super cute. I ended up getting a scone, brown sugar latte, and one of the Cafe Moto canvas hats. Delicious! Hat was adorable. Contrary to the cold and rainy weather, the service I received was so warm and nice. I can't wait to stop by here and head over to Libélula with my friends.

I feel bad leaving a bad review because this place is great and 99% of the staff are amazing! However, there is one specific employee that is rude, doesn't say hi & seems inconvenienced when you're simply ordering. All of the other staff are very nice, welcoming & friendly except for him. I know the drive thru is stressful because I worked as a drive thru barista in the past. It's no excuse to be rude and make your clients feel uncomfortable.

This has got to be the most confusing and frustrating drive thru line ever. But dang wasn't the coffee worth it! We ordered a Dutch espresso mocha and the dulce latte and they were both soooo good. I was skeptical but I can say they were two of the best coffee drinks I've ever had! Amazing.

While we were deciding what to do today, coming here after taking grandpup to Del Mar was a good idea. It's a walk up or drive thru. We entered the drive through line and an employee came up to the car to take our order. He placed a red numbered marker on the hood. Doc ordered 3 Custom sweeties for us to drink and we each had a different snack; chocolate chip cookie(sugar over load), lemon ginger scone and cinnamon apple muffin. We pulled on the side of Chicano Park to admire the art work til we finished our pastries. Much faster than a competitor's drive through.

Visited Café Moto on an early Saturday morning for coffee. Not realizing they were only serving coffee out of a window I tried to go inside. The service is slow. Be prepared to wait. They also service a drive thru- which appears to truly slow them down. They don't serve food. The coffee was good but likely not worth the wait. The vibe is whatevs. Sorry I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. Definitely not the targeted demographic- and that is ok. Not everyone fits in everywhere- and that is ok.

Cafe Moto is a must every time we go to San Diego! A friend introduced us to Cafe Moto 2 years ago and it's always our go to coffee spot before the drive home. The service is always great! The drive thru service can sometimes back up the streets but honestly, it's so worth waiting for! It's a nice little spot. They have an outdoor seating area if you want to sit and enjoy your coffee. You can buy bags of coffee to make at home. We definitely do since we can't have it every day. I highly recommend this spot to all my coffee lovers! Happy sipping my fellow Yelpers!

My favorite coffee shop! The cold brew is my go to, but their seasonal drinks hit the mark. We get out coffee beans here, and it is nice to have a local spot to grab coffee from. The drive thru is a bit tricky, but that is something that COVID gave us.

My family and I are big fans of this coffee shop. After covid things have been better in customer service. They are back to their usual friendly way and polite way. We love getting our coffees and drink then there. My mom always order her usual cubano cortado and i usually change my coffee. I get a seasonal one or my iced latte with almond milk. Their pastries are so delicious. Especially the chocolate croissant and the scones. I love how they always have pretty flowers in every table. It does make the experience better. Enjoying our coffee with a nice view is the best feeling ever! I highly recommend this place if you're by the area. They also have drive thru!

I tried Cafe Moto for the first time today at Sand Diego's 2023 Brunch Bash and it was so good. I was able to try a new drink that isn't currently on the menu, and it did not disappoint. It was so satisfying (smooth and creamy) and it was my favorite item to try at Brunch Bash. Pros: -quality beverages -friendly staff Cons: -n/a I definitely want to try their other menu options. Overall, excellent place for coffee.

Great coffee located in barrio Logan. They offer a drive thru or a walk up window. No dine in. We ordered the iced vanilla latte and hot dulce de leche latte. I wished they offered bigger drink sizes but they don't. Customer service associates are nice and friendly but slooooow service but drive thru and walk up window. Average priced menu. Great quality roasted beans. Delicious pastries. The zucchini bread, zucchini loaf, banana blackberries muffin and orange cranberry muffin are delicious. Bagged coffee is available for grinding.

No matter how many other coffee purveyors I visit in the SD area, Cafe Moto seems to always outshine them all. Great coffee at decent prices, wonderful service & consistency... Did I mention consistency? Always locked on in their drinks & pastries. If this review persuades just one person to opt for Cafe Moto instead of the mermaid coffee joint down the street... I'll have done my job.

Their knowledge of coffee is impressive. The service is slow however it's worth the weight. Their service have a very stoic look but ironically, they are very helpful and adaptable.

One of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego, I go here 2-3 times a week. The staff is friendly and helpful, one of the girls already knows what my regular order is so she gets it started for me right away. The coffee is delicious as well as the pastries. I drive up with my work van and roll down my window, and they come out to me to take my order, it's great! They open early so it's great for everyone trying to grab a cup of coffee on their way to work.

The best coffee! My husband and I go crazy to go here on our weekends for the coffee date and we're addicted to there paradise bar. My husband is a coffee enthusiast he tried different beans but he ends up sticking with Cafe moto's beans since it's affordable and the best. The quality of the beans never change. The staffs have a remarkable vibe.

I go here so many times bc it's close to NBSD, drive thru and the prices are about the same as Starbucks but their lattes are much smoother and better quality. I've even gotten their iced americanos and black coffees and they are just TOP TIER in their customer service and quality.

I only tried their Mexican mocha and it was delicious! Their main cafe was closed but their outside was open. I parked and got out to order and the staff was friendly and fast. I will be back to try other flavors.

Disappointing! I used to come here often years ago. Then it was a tiny coffee shop at the front where you could sit at the bar and watch the baristas, or sit at one of the tables inside. You could go into the huge back area where they were roasting beans and stores all their coffees and teas. It was an experience! Nowadays it's basically a drive thru with a small window to walk up and order your coffee. The whole inside is closed! Sad. I was looking to smell different types of beans and get some recommendations on the best beans for my coffee machine before spending $20+ on a bag of beans. This place has lost its charm.

No other coffee will do. Ever since we started patronising this business in 2017, we've not had any other coffee anywhere. We purchase one pound bags of beans year round so we can grind at home per pot and keep the remaining beans tightly sealed in its bag, squeezed out of air in the freezer. We've purchased teas, syrups and pastries here, too. I don't know where the banana bread with chocolate chips comes from, but it's heavenly and only offered on certain days of the week. The drive thru' they started during the pandemic is brilliant!

I've been coming here for about a year now, and I LOVE this place! Their coffee is so good. I'm a sucker for the seasonal espresso-based drinks that rotate monthly, and the chai latte is delicious as well. If you come here and don't know what to order, just go with the Mexican mocha and thank me later. Every time I've come here, the main cafe has been closed, so I usually order at the outdoor counter and just do grab-and-go. I loved stopping here on my way to work when I worked nearby. I wish they had more seating so it were more of a hangout spot, and I've never tried the drive thru (it looks extremely slow & busy). Still, the drinks and aesthetic here are top-notch. Definitely worth a stop on a Barrio Logan coffee crawl, or really anytime you're in/passing through Barrio!

Amazing drinks and cute atmosphere! I think this cafe would benefit from hiring more workers. The amount of customer to worker ratio is off and creates very high wait times

My absolute favorite coffee shop in all of SD! It's so nice that they have a drive thru and a walk up window, I've not once thought that the wait wasn't worth the quality of coffee! There's also a super cute little patio to sit and enjoy. I will always recommend... great staff and atmosphere!

Cafe Moto was a great afternoon stop in Barrio Logan to perk up for an afternoon toodling around San Diego! I was a little confused by the menu at first, since it names things according to the car/garage theme, but I got an iced coffee with hazelnut (called a V12 Custom Sweetie on the menu). The coffee was delicious; a super strong and bold blend that was complemented, not overpowered, by the hazelnut. The service at the walk-up window was a touch on the slow side, but the drink was worth the wait!

Here are my observations: The main entrance or so it seems to be (where the restrooms are) is locked. So if you need to go someone opens the door for you. I parked outside to go inside but then realized that there was a side cashier to the right so I ordered there. I got two paradise bars and a mint mocha iced. I got the bars right off the bat however no one told me that my drink would be served on the little window to the left of the register. So when I came back from checking the restroom(which I didn't use because there was a line) I was standing there for quite some time until someone said if they can help me and I said I was waiting on my drink and they pointed at the left side of the register window and said it was there. I also seen that you can stay in you car as a drive through thing and they put numbers on top of your car. The menu is at the bottom of the register but also there's a menu that switches every so often on top of the register. I would have liked some guidance from the employees on menu options etc instead of figuring it out myself after I had paid.

Many people including me have had their coffee since it's featured at many coffee shops and restaurants. But many probably have never gone to Cafe Moto's actual location in Barrio Logan. I was one of such people until my most recent visit. I met a buddy here since I was close by, and this IS his favorite local roasted coffee beans in San Diego. It's pretty much a walk-up, drive-up to-go spot, with a few tables & chairs for 2 on the sidewalk. My buddy ordered their hot Dutch Mocha espresso and I had their hot decaf Americano. There was a short walk-up line and an even longer drive-up line at the time of our visit. After ordering, we waited an additional 5-10 minutes for our orders to be called, then consumed them at one of their tables attached to their building on the sidewalk. My Americano was delicious. No complaints, and my friend's Dutch espresso is one of his usual orders so I can only assume he loves that as well. They do have a restroom inside for patrons. Just enter the door around the corner from the walk-up counter to access it. They take AMEX here, a positive these days since many merchants don't. If Cafe Moto was closer to our home, I could see coming here more frequently, but my local coffee shop in Bonita (Donny's Cafe) uses Cafe Moto's coffee beans so I get to drink it without coming all the way to Barrio Logan. It's a pretty cool spot, and I highly recommend trying it out if you're a lover of good coffee!

I don't think I've ever driven by when there wasn't a long line. After some shopping, I finally gave in and went through the drive through (it was a bit of a wait, but come on.. if there's ALWAYS a long line, that means it's good stuff). I like how their menu is simple, especially since I'm already indecisive. The staff member who greeted me and took my order was kind and patient. I usually get lattes, so idk what came over me with getting a sweetie, but I guess 'something new' just sounded more appealing at the time. A 'sweetie' is cold brew with your choice of flavor. I decided to live a little, so I got it with oat milk + some vanilla and caramel. Thankfully it wasn't too sweet, but it wasn't my favorite coffee drink (totally my fault). The next time I come back, I'm going to try my go-to drink.. a dirty matcha latte.

I've been coming here for 3+ years now, mainly purchasing whole beans..beverages from time to time as well. The customer service has always been great as well as drink quality. However, today, Jackie and Dino went above and beyond & did me a solid that further reinforces my loyalty to this establishment. I really appreciate y'all! Thank you once again!

I love this coffee shop! Sitting here on a Sunday morning makes me feel like I'm on vacation somewhere. Relaxing, urban, great coffee, friendly service and people. Motorcycle parking right in front. For some reason they are keeping in the cafe inside closed (as of July '23) so only outdoor seating.

Coffee was good, but service was slower than ideal, so don't go if you're in a hurry.

Coffee: Cubano cortado brown sugar - my fav Pumpkin sweetie: wasn't really a fan of their pumpkin flavor Vanilla sweetie: good Hazelnut sweetie: good Vanilla latte: good Rose: wasn't really a fan of the flavor on this one either in the latte version or cortado version. If I'm just basing this review on their coffee I would give them four stars however I have to knock a star because of issues with their drive thru. I've seen multiple other people mention the same kinds of issues. I love that they have a drive thru however it's such a hit or miss on service. I would say 75% of the time you could have parked (if you could find a spot...) and then walked up and gotten your drink way before the time it would have taken in the drive thru. This is the case even when you are in their 'lot' and not waiting on the street side. I've been here many, many times and it's happened quite a bit where there are multiple people taking orders and they accidentally skip cars. I've had cars behind me get their full order and they get upset I'm blocking them in because I was skipped. The most recent visit was incredibly upsetting as it took 30 mins to get a drink in the drive thru because they skipped my car and served the people next to me and three cars behind me. When someone finally came up to my car it was to ask me to move because I was 'blocking the other cars from leaving' and acted shocked when I told them no one had taken my order yet. They have a system where they put a red number on your car when they've taken your order so I don't understand how I was skipped. I have not been back since.

I was looking for chocolate covered espresso beans, and Cafe Moto was highly recommended. So I made the drive, and they didn't have any . BUT they did have the best iced mocha I've ever had. So I went back twice more asking about the espresso beans. They got some in but hadn't had the chance to package them. So they packaged a one pound bag just for me. THAT'S service. Ngl, I also went back for the mochas. I live on the other side of town, so I can't come as much as I'd like to, but I will make the drive every few weekends to treat myself. Anyone reading this review should do the same.

I'm not an avid coffee drinker like some, but when I do crave coffee, Cafe Moto always hits the spot. Gotta love the drive through service as the staff taking the order is always polite. My wife and I ordered an Iced Caramel Dulce Latte with Oat milk and went along our day.

Came here with a good friend of mine that gets all her coffee from here and I was so thankful that she introduced this place to me. We ordered the white Mocha which was super delicious and not too sweet which was a concern of mine since I typically drink lattes from other places. While we were waiting, they gave us an oatmeal cookie which was honestly, the best oatmeal cookie I have ever had! You have to try it. The staff was super friendly as well. Cafe Moto is right next to Chicano Park which I had also never been to, so it was so nice to just sip on our iced coffees, chomp on our cookies all while looking at some cool art! This place is a great option while visiting San Diego for all your "caf-feen" needs.

I have been drinking their coffee at many places around town, and they support the motorcycle community, so they were the obvious choice when my wife and I decided to pick a new "Sunday sipping coffee" for the house. I stopped by their National City main shop and talked to Olivia, who was absolutely superb at listening to my likes and dislikes, and had a deep detailed knowledge of all their coffees and roasts. I wound up trying two, and I think my wife is going to love them both. Plus, I got a delicious iced mocha and croissant!
