Café Luitpold

We ordered drinks and desserts. Cakes look super fancy and the taste also good. They offer option of milk substitution such as oatmilk and lastose free milk where I find it really nice of them as there are rarely place which offer normal lactose free milk. 2 matcha latte we ordered were too sweet but still okay. Overall it is great! Recommended with reservation to sit under the roof glass for nice picture!

We wanted to have brunch here, but unfortunately, we got there late, as they serve the breakfast/brunch items until 11:45. We opted to stay for lunch, and had Flammkuchen with walnuts and goat cheese with a garnish of pomegranate arils, and roast beef. The Flammkuchen was really delicious and the pomegranate was a nice and fresh contrast to the cheese. However the roast beef was served cold, we didn't see that mentioned on the menu, and somehow was not to our taste. The cafe is really beautiful, especially when you sit in the greenhouse area of it. During the weekend and holidays they open the balcony area as well that has a nice view of the café. The staff was friendly and ready to help us with questions.

Negatives: Extremely overpriced for food. I find it very strange to have a cleaner downstairs the toilet asking for a "tip" at a "high-end" restaurant that charges a fortune on their menu. Seriously, you can't afford to pay your bathroom cleaners a wage that you ask customers to? German waitress has zero patience and are really rude. Especially because we wanted english menus. Positives: Pumpkin soup was nice. Waitress did warm up after.

Excellent food and service! Always super busy. The desserts and cakes are superb! Absolutely recommended!

I expected more from this well-known gourmet café. The prices are absurd—€8 for a tea with nothing special about the flavor. The cheesecake tasted strangely like lemon, which was disappointing. Overall, not worth the high cost.

The cake didn’t taste good, and the service was terrible. We didn’t feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. From finding a seat to getting the menu and ordering, we had to handle everything ourselves. When we asked for a candle, they simply told us to wait. Please don’t expect tips here.

Worst experience ever. We booked a book reading as a 5 person group and 2 of us were less than 10 minutes late. So our seats were given to some other people, even though our friends said we’re coming but late. I understand that it’s our fault for being late, but this is not how you manage such a situation. Nor on the event or the ticket did it say that you’re supposed to be there 30 minutes before the event, it did say it on some flyer and apparently on the homepage, but you’re not reading a whole website because of one event. It should say it in the event description and on the ticket. The organizers were really rude and the service wasn’t as good either. On top of that one of the waiters complained about the tip he received, after the situation we’ve been put through. The local might be pretty, but the staff is horrible. Only one of the waiters was nice and apologized multiple times for the situation, sadly I didn’t ask for his name. Also the food wasn’t that good either. After asking for a refund for not being able to sit with my friends, but at a random table it was declined and I was told to complain to management.

We stopped here randomly on our way back from the English Garden. They have an extensive selection of fine pastries, excellent coffee, and drinks. We had a few of their spritzes and they were really well done. Service was great throughout. My only issue is that it is a bit overpriced for the quality. If that's no issue, than it's a delightful place to go to.
