Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. They bring 3 beignets per bag and they are pretty large! If you don’t eat that much, one bag of 3 is enough for 2 people to taste. I had a frozen coffee and it was very refreshing.

For the Heritage and the culture it carried it deserves a 5 star. A long line before you start and all the way into the café you get to see a lot of things that says about the history this place carries. Coming to the food I really dint care about the coffee taste and the French donuts were good except for the insane amount of sugar powder they put on them. The Café is always crowded and hygiene is a bit compromised. CASH only business is a bummer even at this point in time.

My friend hadn’t yet experienced New Orleans beignets. I had to take her to the location serving the best beignets in the city. Café Du Monde has a few locations in the city, and these are hands-down the tastiest desserts you can get. We went to the location inside the Riverwalk mall as it was easily accessible from our hotel. There was a decent line, however it moved fast. Their coffees, both hot and frozen, are must haves. With how expensive it is, if you are looking to take a piece of New Orleans back with you, they sell a mug with coffee for only $6! The beignets come in servings of three pieces, and it only cost $3.40 plus tax ($3.72 total). These delectable desserts are lightly fried dough topped with a copious amount of powdered sugar. They are extremely fresh and warm when served, and they are best enjoyed while still piping hot. They are served in a little paper bag, and the trick is to fold the bag, and vigorously shake it so that the powdered sugar is covering every inch of the beignet evenly. This location is the perfect spot to get a classic staple dessert in an indoor setting with a massive window looking out on the river.

The whole process is in front of a glass window similar to Krispy Kreme, but much more enjoyable to watch. It's very fast and the beignets come out piping hot.

This was everything I expected! It wasn't soaked in oil at all, it was 100% way better than the other one i had. Had 1 and wanted more. Coffee was good too. Busy, location inside a mall near the river walk. Pros, there is AC so your wait is nice and cool. Came in on Monday around 10 am and there was already a line. Seats available. Other mentioned the other locations maybe cash only. This accepts card but no Apple Pay ! Prices are unbelievably affordable or have I just been accustomed to paying $7.00 in San Francisco. Beignets are chewy and powdery. Big fan of the chicory coffee. No burnt taste like Starbucks.

Not the first time here but it's been a while. I went on a Sunday at 2100 & place was busy enough but not too too crowded and the beignets were served warm not piping hot & were very and I mean very dense. I don't remember them being that dense in the past. Service was very quick but maybe hence the warm not hot beignets. They can most definitely do better.

Def a tourist spot to check. Pandemic has changed hours, but open to 12am during Thanksgiving weekend. Iced cafe au lait is my go-to with beignet.

This location is conveniently located inside the mall. We stopped here for some coffee and beignets before hopping on our cruise. The service was very fast and friendly. Not a ton of seating, but tables turnover pretty quickly, so it shouldn't be hard to find a space to sit and eat. You can also take your food outside along the river walk.

Went the day after hurricane Francine and they were open, best time to go! Wasn't crowded due to bad weather night before lol friendly staff, cash only place. Ordered up chicory coffee & beignets obvi. Perfect morning down by the river. Quit a few locals were here before work and just enjoying the relaxing vibe.

This mostly gets 3 stars for nostalgia and history, not for the food itself. This location is in an outlet mall so it's pretty touristy, but the service was quick and polite. I thought beignets were just ok and kinda dry. I don't know that I get the appeal.

If you're in NOLA, you gotta try a beignet. I ordered a bag of three (that's how much you get, no more, no less) with an iced cafe au lait. Service is cafeteria style prompt. You order, they take a green tray and someone plops down the beignet and drink on your tray. You pay and grab a seat. The sugar on my beignet was not evenly distributed. I had to tear open the bag and coat it myself. Beignet is yummy. Not greasy.

A must with any French quarter / Nola visit, cafe du monde is quintessential! A beignet and au lait is all you need. The open area venue provides NOLA charm at its best given background noise/music and vibrant colors to fill the area. Make it a must on your trip...I know I will!!

So disappointing. I've bought the mix before and had better results. They didn't let it rise long enough so it was like eating a dense piece of bread. Taking a tour and heard that locals all say gambits (reviewer) says morning call is better. I'm going to try them today. Update: Tried morning call and it's what a beignet is supposed to be, amazing. Btw, they only take cash

Good ambiance here despite the touristy energy! There are usually live street performers nearby so you get some music with your beignets. The beignets themselves aren't anything insanely good, but it is very cool to be in such a historic spot enjoying classic New Orleans fare. The beignets themselves aren't pictured because somehow I forgot to take a photo of anything but the bag. Plenty of other photos online have you covered though!

Convenient and good. Easy access from waterfront and convention center hotels. It's a mall. But that's ok. Service is great.

First beignets we had on our trip. We went to the location by the river as we were in the area for a boat ride. Service for the customers wasn't bad but not terribly friendly either. You can definitely see there was friction between the workers too. Onto the food, out of cafe du monde, cafe beignet, and Loretta's, this was my partners favorite. This is tied with cafe beignet for me. Taste wise, it was fresh and nice and crispy on the outside and light on the inside. There was a boat load of sugar that was half wasted though.

Try this location after a long day being out on the river walk. We went inside the mall to go try food at Mister Shrimp's and went here for dessert. It was not my first time eating at this establishment but it was my first time at eating at the satellite location within the mall. It was the first time that my husband got a chance to try actual beignets in New Orleans. Or all the coffee was still really good and hot and the beginets were okay. I have had them from the original location and so I just think here they were rushing because the mall was about to close. The first 2 beignets were just okay but the last one really tasted like the original. It was nice and fluffy and it was then that we knew that we had just gotten some older ones because they are rushing to close up the shop here.

Coffee shop inside the Riverwalk - there is a parking lot that you can get discounted parking validation for shopping at the other stores in the mall. Quick and easy service, and the cafe au lait was decent.

I visited New Orleans Riverwalk and I saw this cute little Cafe Du Monde inside the mall. I was excited to get me some beignets to go. They came out hot and delicious as always. I wish the ladies were as friendly as the cashier guy .

Everyone who goes to New Orleans for the first time wants to try Cafe Du Monde, and definitely should. Cafe Du Monde is the legendary beignet provider. They charge only $3.85 three huge beignets that are caked with a cup of powdered sugar. DO NOT EAT THESE BEFORE DINNER. They will totally ruin your appetite. They are very filling. This Cafe Du Monde outlet sits in an a pleasantly air-conditioned mall that is along the waterfront. It is not the famous location about 1 mile away (Jackson Square) that has 1 hour long lines on the weekends. This location has shorter lines than the Cafe Du Monde at Jackson Square. As such, I strongly recommend this location. Parking here is difficult, busy and expensive. However, the menu and product offering is exactly the same.

Hands down the best beignets in town. I've tried three different places and certainly this comes out on top. Line is always long but certainly worth the wait. We went to two different Cafe Du Mondes and the beignets were consistently great. Wish they would open a store on the West coast. Until then, I cannot wait to go back. The beignets are crispy on the outside. Soft and chewy on the inside and the powdered sugar is not overwhelmingly sweet in my opinion.

All I can say is if you don't try this great pastry then you don't know! You have to check it out. Service was excellent and the ambiance was perfect for the setting.

Went to New Orleans recently and couldn't leave without getting a beignet! There's a bunch of Beignet options but Cafe Du Monde is historic and the best! The beignets are always fluffy! The line was super long (as always) but they moved fast! Definitely a must try if you're able to visit New Orleans

One of my favorite places for breakfast. The beignets were fresh and hot. Soft with the perfect bite. Tons of powdered sugar. Excellent. A great cafe au lait made it the perfect breakfast. Cute little place that looked like an indoor version of the original. Staff was friendly and quick.

When I was in New Orleans I was ECSTATIC to get to try such an iconic restaurant (and fulfill my childhood Princess and The Frog dreams). The menu is short and sweet and shows they know what they're doing. The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet but definitely moved through the line pretty rapidly. The inside of the restaurant itself was super cute and cozy but nothing too crazy-very simple. I got the hot chocolate which was so full of flavor and richness as well as the beignets. This may be a controversial statement, but I thought the beignets were a bit too rich. I'm someone who typically likes rich foods but this (especially paired with the hot chocolate) was just too much. The beignets had great flavor and the powdered sugar was delicious but overall I just thought it was too rich of a food. I would recommend for when you're in the area but be weary that it is a HEAVY meal!!

On a recent New Orleans Trip we decided to do a Beignet Challenge between Cafe Beignet & Cafe Du Monde. We are definitely Team Cafe Beignet. The Cafe Du Monde location we tried was in the Outlet Mall as the other locations had crazy long lines. The staff at this location all looked & acted like they hated their jobs to the point of being rude and not smiling. We found the beignets to be chewy and solid and the chicory coffee was very bitter. Definitely would not return.

Food: Hot pillowy pockets of fried dough dunked in powdered sugar , what's not to love? Pairs perfectly with the coffee. Service: it's a bit strange but it works. There are two lines and we did not realize one was for to go and the other line was for dine in. Make sure you ask! We decided to dine in, once seated someone eventually makes their way to you. It's very busy and the staff are doing the best they can. Ambiance: clean and cute, what you would expect in New Orleans!

CASH ONLY. These fall outside of my typical dietary restrictions around gluten, but I could not come to NOLA and not try these. I had heard & read some mixed reviews abt these, but OMG. So worth the cheat! Lol. I think maybe the taste varies by location. This is for the Riverwalk location. They were piping hot and the sugar is absolutely obnoxious especially if it's windy out, but that's what made them SO good. The hot fried dough, with a little bit of the oil still on them mixed with the powdered sugar...whew! Get an order. The brass band was a nice touch! I was at this location not long after it opened and it was packed. Bring your patience or stop at the takeout only window.

I'm not sure what the hype is about because to be honest these beignets are just mediocre. Had high expectations because this is such a hyped up spot, but it did not live up to the expectations at all. The bread itself is very doughy and most the flavors just the powdered sugar on top. I wish the beignets were more pillowy, soft texture, and crunchy on the outside, but it was not at all. Wouldn't get it again. There are much better desserts out there.

I was sooo disappointed when we went here ): I went to the original location and it was so much better. Located in the Riverwalk Mall, it was conveniently located next to the hotel we were staying and the convention center as I was here for a conference. BEIGNETS: Got a set of 3 beignets and they tasted overly fried, not fluffy at all. ICED MOCHA: Comes pre-made, wayyy too sweet for my personal preference. Hopefully the quality control gets better and they improve. But for now, I would rather choose the original location.

We came to NOLA from New Year's Eve and of course had to come here for the Beignets. Cafe Du Monde didn't disappoint, this spot isn't just a dessert distination but an experience and a must when here. Not only are the Beignets the best I've ever had, they're so good, the texture of the dough is just amazing coupled with the delectable powdered sugar. What an amazing combination!! But what made our experience so special was our server. These people work so hard because there are hundreds maybe thousands of people coming through daily and they still have time to be nice, polite, and attentive. Our server was exceptional, she's in our pictures, we loved her!!

It's iconic. There are much better beignets but this place is famous. I actually love chicory coffee. This place is way better than the original cafe du monde because the line is short here.

This place only has two things, beignets and coffee and the coffee is ok. Guess why I'm giving it 5 stars? The Beignets are the best I've ever had. You will most likely wait in a fast moving line to come here, but it does move fast. If you're looking for a good beignet look no further. New Orleans is famous for beignets and the one's here are top notch. The ambiance is large open covered outdoor seating right next to water.Bottom line, come here your beignets and coffee and go enjoy NOLA. The beignets are large, my wife and I shared 1 order. Check this place out! Happy eating.

If you like beignet, this is the place to go, because this is the original place. There is always line. If you wanna pick up, you need to go to the back of the store and wait in line. If you want to sit in table, you wait at the front of the store and pick the first available table. They bring beignet to you and also coffee, it's usually cash only. But beignet is very good. Sometimes people play music in front of the store.

The café that is famous for New Orleans is look at it in a outlet mall! It's easy to find! I will say everyone told me to get this, but it is a little underwhelming. But the service was amazing! And there is a line, but as not as long as the one on the main street, so will definitely come here if you don't want to wait in line and stand in the heat. It's about four dollars for three and it is worth getting it but I don't think I'll get it again during my trip! There's also a lot of seating inside, and most people just take it to go!

The beignets are delicious, and it's a miracle that they keep their prices low in such a tourist hotspot. The staff is incredibly friendly. Visited three times, and enjoyed live music twice - sadly, no mermaid guy on the third visit. Is it too much to ask? Pro tip: dust some powdered sugar under one nostril to blend in with the locals. And don't miss out on the staff hats - a steal at just 15 cents each!

This location in port of New Orleans mall had walk up service & plenty of seats to grab to eat. If you've never had a beignet before (like ever) then maybe this is the spot for you. I've had much better beignets at restaurants outside of NOLA. They serve just the plain variety with plenty of powdered sugar, but to me was still missing flavor. I actually enjoyed my cafe au lait (half hot coffee & steamed milk) over the beignets.

In all my years visiting NOLA how have I never reviewed the iconic and legendary Cafe' Du Monde? And what can I say that hasn't already been said? It's a definite must for any tourist. A New Orleans staple. The beignets...holy poo! They're gonna be some of the best you've ever had. My coffee, au last, always!!! Super cool vibe.

If you'd like to find a nice off street parking, be able to pay with credit and not to worry about not having cash or standing in hours-long lines under the sun, sitting in a cosy area by the Mississippi River with AC on AND get the same cafe du monde beignet and coffee experience you have to try this Cafe Du Monde only, period. The best beignets of all time! PS: if you're not dipping your beignet in the coffee are you even doing it right?!

I went to the river walk location after the original and it was not the same, maybe I missed this atmosphere but this beignet were crunchy so stick to this one and experience it right. Honestly took longer compared to actual location.

finally tried the infamous beignets! i prefer them fresh of course! with hella powdered sugar! they are more on the doughy side, which isn't my absolute preference but it definitely fills you up since it's so carby. i love the vibes here it makes me so happy to see so many people enjoying good food and spending time outside!

An iconic beignet spot that any is def a tourist attraction. Worth a 30 mins stop for a cup pf coffee and a few bites of what I feel are like lighter versions of Zeppolis. Service was quick and efficient. Make sure you bring cash.

Of all the hype for this place, it was a huge letdown. The beignet were dry and not all that good. The coffee was pathetic and to top it all off, every single employee at the station behaved they would rather be somewhere else. The service was very unfriendly. Wouldn't visit this again.

This place is well worth the hype! Long long line but it moves fast. If you don't want a table there is a much shorter line for to go orders. They only serve beignets and coffee so people are in and out quickly. Also it's cash only!!! We grabbed our beignets and enjoyed it on some benches nearby. I tried other beignet spots in town but nothing compares to theirs. Also their cafe au lait was by far the best here.

Yummy beignets! I was on a morning stroll when I walked by this Cafe Du Monde location. I got in line and ordered myself some beignets! Without coffee, the beignets might be a bit too sweet on its own. I thought they were nice, but they didn't blow my mind. Also, they tasted a bit stale or hard despite being freshly fried. I don't love that they're cash only. It's nice that they give bags for people who end up taking some leftover beignets back. Pretty clean location that overlooks the river.

You already know you're going to stop by while in NOLA because how can you pass up hot, way too much powdered sugary beignets and a mug of hot Cafe au last even if its 100 degrees outside. If you are at the French Quarter location, you will even debate if you are really going to stand in that line, then will decide to join the crowd. I've also stopped by the location somewhere near the airport (about 10 minute drive or so) - beignets & coffee are the same yummiest, but less hectic vibe. Enjoy!

Cute little cafe tucked in a mall right next to the convention center. We came through to grab a quick bite in the morning before going to our conference at the convention center next door. The beignet (minimum 3/order) was a first for us and we paired it with a mocha coffee and a hot chocolate. It did not disappoint! At less than $10 for the quick breakfast, we got our caffeine hit with a generous slice of sugar rush and we were ready for our conference.

Good and not as long of a line like the original location. Always have to go to cafe du monde when coming to New Orleans.
