"The views of the skyline of Gaira (once a separate town, near Playa Blanca, but now part of greater Santa Marta), the ocean, and the surrounding hills are part of the magical experience of dining at Burukuka, located right on the water. But it is the restaurant's commitment to excellent fusion, Caribbean and local cuisine that is the real reason for its success. One must-try is the callelle , a local specialty of mashed green bananas with cheese, sour cream and homemade sausage. The alfresco seating on a large deck is a plus even on warm days, as it's cooled by ocean breezes."

Beautiful Views, Average Experience The standout feature of this restaurant is definitely the 180-degree view of El Rodadero Beach. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a drink or meal while taking in a stunning sunset — the view alone is worth the visit. That said, the food was fairly average, and the service didn’t particularly stand out. There is a lively atmosphere, thanks to a DJ playing electro-Caribbean mixes, which adds a nice local vibe to the experience. Overall, it’s a great place to go for the view and a relaxed drink, but if you're looking for exceptional food or service, you might want to temper your expectations.

Great place to visit if you want to enjoy delicious Colombian food with a nice view. On Friday they have live music (this was the day I visited). Sitting by the edge of the restaurant is much nicer because of the views

I really enjoyed my visit here. The place has spectacular views of Rodadero and is perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets that Santa Marta offers. I had the Orange Sunset drink, a mix of aguardiente, vodka, and maracuyá. It was delicious and refreshing. The music was right up my alley—loungy, relaxed, and great for chatting while enjoying the open air. We ordered an appetizer, which was good. However, the service was horrible, so keep that in mind. It took forever to place our order and even longer to pay. All in all, it’s a great spot with amazing views and a tasty menu. Definitely worth a visit, and I will return.

Given the elevated price point, the dishes do not quite justify the cost. The blue cheese sauce overwhelms the flavor of the meat, masking its natural character rather than complementing it. The sushi, on the other hand, was fresh and flavorful, though the presentation lacked artistry. A minimalist approach—true to the spirit of sushi—would have elevated the experience. The ceviche sauce bears resemblance to Leche de Tigre from Peru, which I appreciated. However, the preparation fell short: the fish was not marinated but instead served fresh atop the sauce. This makes it difficult to consider it a true ceviche; “fresh fish with BK sauce” would be a more honest description. On a brighter note, the view is spectacular, and the service was warm and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience.

One of the most beautiful view of Santa Marta. Food was good as well. Arrive early or book a table for the sunset as it get crowded very fast.

The food and drinks was really. The waiters were not always that attentive. I'm not sure if it's because of our timing, but it was really hard to communicate with each other because if the music. There was a live band and during their break a background music.

We enjoyed our dinner, the food was delicious, Mercedes was our server, she took care of us well. The whole experience was affordable and we were happy with it.

The food was good, maybe a bit too pricey for the food quality but the atmosphere and view make up for it. The wait staff are very nice
