It was my second visit to this park, and this time I was lucky to see a sea lion! It was just one little fella who was peacefully snoring throughout the entire pier, and it made my day 🦭 I also saw lots of squirrels running around the park, pelicans, huge gulls, and even spotted a great blue heron hunting for fish! It's a good place to relax and watch wildlife doing their thing, especially when it's not crowded with people during the workday.

Wonderful park! This park is really great, from location to maintenance to events it always does a great job. The views and atmosphere is spectacular. The sea lions are hilarious and fun to watch. Just walking through or having a BBQ and picnic, we always enjoy our time here.

Christmas Boat Parade. Nice community and family event held yearly, event is from 4-8pm the parking was $8. Many came with blankets to sit on grass, also had food and drinks. I bought my folding chair with me. Boats and the park was decorated beautifully. Dog friendly park. Restrooms remained open the entire event, although lines tend to be long for ladies at times. I didn’t see a playground for children but lots of space to run and play, there was arts and crafts for kids. Overall, nice, this is an event I plan to attend yearly.

A beautiful mid-sized park overlooking the marina bay in the corner. Ambiance is relaxing and the noises of seals make this place an entertaining spot to have a nice stroll through. Parking lots nearby has meters that you need to purchase-- one lot is 90 minutes max for parking. Lots of dogs leashed and walking, fresh grass well-taken care of, and an overall perfect park to go to if you want to escape the heat!! It's also not too far off from the freeway exit-- making this a perfect park to enter in and out from. I recommend bringing blankets, sweaters and chairs in case it gets cold from the breeze.

July & August 2024 | Marina del Rey: Burton Chase is a wonderful park with beautiful scenery, plenty of picnic tables & and all around pleasant atmosphere! Holiday Spirit: Around Christmas time, Burton Chase Park is decorated in such a beautiful way, all lit up as well, so festive! It's fun to walk throughout the park and enjoy the scenery/displays! It will totally get you into the holiday spirit! Picnic Time: There are plenty of tables around the park, as well as clean restrooms! Recently, I booked Soulistic Food/International Vegan Soul Food/Chef Dahm to cook at my home and to meet up at Burton Chase Park! A few close friends and I surprised my Dad, who was visiting from the Midwest with an amazing dinner picnic! Fun times & the atmosphere was beautiful, as well as everyone enjoying the scenery, including the stunning sunset! Watching the boats/yachts, the seals... Perfect location! To our surprise, there happened to be a boat parade, the same night, which made the evening even more amazing and special!! Music to My Ears: After seeing a Yelp post via Yelp Friend Barry about the Burton Chase summer concert series, I added the upcoming Goapele concert to my planner! Thanks, Barry!! After sightseeing with my dad all day, he wanted to rest up, so I went to the concert by myself! I had an absolute blast! The concert was amazing, plenty of concert screens around the park, great vibes, and great crowd! I enjoyed the concert immensely!! Overall: I love this park! I also have incredible memories at Burton Chase Park! I highly recommend checking out the Summer Concert Series, taking a relaxing walk throughout the park, Christmas scenery at the park, as well as having a wonderful picnic!

I attended a beautiful memorial for someone. Upon arrival several people were helping set up. I'll admit this is a beautiful park. The view and atmosphere are gorgeous. There were four individuals that had taken up an entire pavilion below where we were having service. They were beating on trash cans and they got louder with each passing moment that the memorial was taking

Had a good time last weekend at Chace Park for the Musiq Soulchild for the Marina Del Rey free summer concert series in the park. The park is beautiful and much larger than I expected. You get great views of the Marina, lots of parking lots, and close to all of the shopping (Trader Joe's, clothing, etc) and restaurants. There's a nice walking/bike path with lots of room to sit and possibly have a nice picnic.

This is one of my favorite spots in LA! During the summer, you can bring your food and picnic on the tables or on a grass. They have a lot of events throughout the year. I just went to see the Holiday boat parade. Come early if you want parking. If not, park in the pavillon /cvs parking lot and walk to the park. 10,15mm walk but headache free.

Super kid friendly park but also perfect for a romantic evening picnic. You can also catch the sunset and see sea lions sunbathing in the docks (forewarning: they smell). The park hosts movie nights during the summer and is right down the street from Trader Joe's.

I have seen, tried to stop and reported to the office about the woman who does not put her 2 white dogs on leash and has on many occasions knocked the squirrels out of the small sapling trees so that her dogs can continue to terrorize the squirrels. Now this woman is harassing me and my husband for trying to make her put her dogs on leash. Other park patrons have been injured because of her dogs being off leash. How is it possible that this woman is allowed to ruin the park experience for others? Can't something be done? The employees in the office say that nothing can be done. Why???? Watch out for the overly aggressive squirrels! Burton Chase is a popular park for people who like to feed squirrels. As a result the squirrels are intimidating and run up to you demanding food. Also lots of off leash dogs. Otherwise a great park!

It was great view, we were in a community room, so parking there is 90 minutes only! Otherwise you have to park in lot 77 which is further if you're carrying stuff! No loading zone! Plus you have to set up tables yourself, and don't forget your tablecloths! Setting up could be difficult for elderly or disabled folks to do! Many people suffer from back and knee issues! Its extra if you need the kitchen! And you do need your own microphone, and bring extension cords if you need to set up electronics! Staff was excellent!

Burton Chace Park is a lovely setting on the water in Marina del Rey for a picnic, family outing, relaxing ... and/or a summer concert.  The white pergolas on the knolls give the park a touch of class.  There is limited paid parking off Mindanao Way.  We enjoy getting here on summer weekends using the WaterBus. Public restrooms are available.

The beautiful 10-acre Burton W. Chace Park is a stunning destination in the Marina, jutting out into the main channel, which offers one of the best viewing areas of the harbor with water views on three sides. Hit the flat paved walking path along the perimeter a leisure walk, and relax on a bench to watch the sunset. All outside tables are first come, first served. Covered picnic pavilions and a smattering of uncovered tables, all with barbecue access, make for a great gathering place, though not in use since the pandemic.

Seems like a place appropriate for small family gathering or a short stroll. There are people here having BBQs (with own equipment) or lounging on the grass and benches. They put up some Christmas decorations to try to be festive. They do have restrooms here. There was another nearby restroom that was locked.

Burton W Chace Park on Admiralty Way in Marina Del Rey. Some notable factoid: this park was named and dedicated to Mr Burton W Chace, who was a LA County supervisor, holding 5 consecutive terms from 1953-1972. He had the vision and was the consultant to convert these mosquito infested mudflats to what is now world renowned area Marina Del Rey, and with this park for the enjoyment of the public, hence a dedicated plaque he is known as the 'Father of the Marina.' Have been a frequent visitor with my fur baby Fendi here for over a week, mostly mornings and afternoons. The absolute best points about this park is it's location; next to the marina waterway with scenic views of the marina harbor, the grassy knolls, the bench seatings and ample parking with at least three parking lots. We were lucky to see a group of mammals: walrus, sea lions and seals sunbathe sloth like on the marina slips. And twice the same seal whose bellowing bark sounded similar to that of a dog at times, even caught Fendi's attention. The salty ocean breeze is so therapeutic to breathing cleaner air versus inner city air. But some times in the afternoons, the air smells of some fishy bait lure...quite unpleasant. The walkway along the harbor is scenic and we've made some other furry friends along the way. The park is well maintained and patrolled by local police to keep matters orderly and peaceful. A worthwhile visit and recommend A+++

How is it that I've lived in Playa del Rey since 2005 & Culver City all my life and have never been to this park until 2019? This is such a beautiful park located in Marina del Rey. The views from this park are amazing. You can watch the boats passing by, walk along the water, listen to the seals , have a barbecue/picnic or even practice yoga. Maria actually offers a great Sunday yoga class overlooking the water. She is the absolute best at what she does. They've even added a Monday yoga class and will start evening yoga Sunset classes on June 3rd from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Maria mentioned that won't even have tea afterwards. One reason I may not have known about this park is because it's located at the western end of Mindanao Way. They offer free parking during the week days but on the weekends it's pay parking.

New Year's Eve party in Los Angeles... There was a post on Eventbrite about a New Year's Eve party. It was free, but we signed up for tickets anyway. Parking was $6 in Lot 4. Other people parked elsewhere and paid $15 while some lucked out and found a free lot! The food trucks had long lines. The restrooms were crowded because portable restrooms are challenging to use in the dark! There were face painters and vendors selling glow sticks, light sabers, blinking unicorn hair bands, etc. It was chilly at the Marina. We stood by the heaters and felt better. Overall, it was fun! The fireworks were off in the distance and still beautiful! Happy New Year!

12/31/2018-01/01/2019 This was a free but ticketed event. Wait, who was checking the barcode on my ticket? If you are ever so lucky to find parking in Lot 77 or Lot 4, that will be $6 please. Walk on over and you'll see all of the lights around the tree and statues. Food trucks to the far left in the parking lot. Photobooth in the back and a DJ playing lots of tunes. Plenty of vendors selling anything that glows. Festive hat for $3 and those lighted wands for $7. Extremely long lines for the food trucks. I wonder if they could have fit quite a few more trucks. We picked Heritage LA to eat when they ran out of sandwiches. I made the selection of the protein bowls instead. Once we finish, we headed towards any of the heaters and camped out. Felt like a toasted marshmallow until the countdown. I didn't even hear the DJ count it down. The fireworks were way off in the distance. Usually you here the explosions in your chest when it is so close to view. What a huge let down but glad I spent the evening with good friends.

Dog friendly! On leash. We ended up here at around 7a on a Wednesday to avoid traffic leaving LA for an 8:30 appointment in Santa Monica. Parked in the lot at end of Mindanao Way. Free on weekdays. We walked around from the lot to the right following the fence next to the water up to just past the Yacht club. Along the way by the statue we saw a group of sea lions, which it seems my Betty had not ever seen before (she was about 5 when she adopted me, not sure what she had experienced up to then). They were pretty vocal so kept her interest for awhile. The park is very clean and well maintained. No trash on the ground anywhere. You cannot access the water from any spot that I saw here as all gates are locked unless you have a boat there / have the code. The bathrooms nearest to the water had a sign that they were only for boat owners. I didn't look for other bathrooms. There are gazebos and other picturesque areas. I was looking for a quiet spot to launch our SUP, this is not it as no water access for us outsiders. There is a boat launch off of Fiji Way but I also heard about Mother's Beach I need to check out. There is a pretty fountain area but it was not on. The dog "run" is a super small fenced in area, best for the little ones, located next to the boat owner only bathroom building. Free WiFi with password lacguest Picnic shelter area closed.

I love Burton Chase Park. It may be small and hilly in some parts, but the park offers great views of the marina from pretty much every location in the park, making it a perfect destination for a picnic with family or friends or a walk. While visiting, there's always plenty of parking. Parking is free during the weekdays but there is a small fee to park on the weekends. COVID-updates: The BBQ grills are currently unavailable at this time as well as some of the picnic tables. Caution tape and physical barriers are used to prevent people from using them. Also, I noticed that the free wi-fi network is not available. My theory is that they suspended wi-fi to possibly stop people from being at the park long term but this is just a personal theory.

Really nice park on the marina with room for picnics and camping. Saw lots of family celebrating festive occasions when I was there over the weekend. Appeared to have large are for barbecuing, though many people brought their own grills too. The parking lot was full, but I see there are some tips on other reviews about where to park next time. Great spot I will definitely be back!

Free parking in the main lot Monday thru Friday. Thankfully a nice lady told me before I was about to pay the meter. There were plenty of children and seniors here enjoying the shade. The trail is spacious and wraps around the park with views of the harbor. Lots of trees and places to sit. But it gets crowded so go early.

This park was beautiful and parking fee is cheap too!! It's a park and beach well put together. Great to just chill and do a get together with friends or family!

Best park in Marina Del Rey area! They always decorate it so well for the holidays! I am in love with it. Fireworks on NYE and major holidays. Had a great time there during winter holidays! So much fun. They also brought some snow there too! What a surprise

This is a nice park area that we visited hosting a free public Christmas Event, and it is very nice in how it's laid out. The event itself, the Winter Wonderland as a festive holiday event for kids of all ages, families and friends or even for a couple to take a date out to. In So Cal, it's still looking and feeling a lot like Summer in the Autumn and Winter months of Nov/Dec, so to see and feel snow, albeit man-made ice, it's still very festive. The event was well organized and provided entertaining activities and sites for attendees. They had a paid parking lot 'tho, so parking wasn't free, but did run shuttle services.

Chase Park is large, located in Marina Del Rey, it has some views that you might enjoy and is a great space for parties (you need permission) and weddings. It is pretty quiet during the week, but can get crowded on the weekends. The trees are lovely and there are plenty of places to just sit and relax. It is very crowded on the 4th of July because you can see the Marina fireworks well from there. If you want to deal with the crowd, it is a great place to see the fireworks. There are a lot of great eateries near the park. It is just really nice and safe. Have fun.

Located by the Marina in Marina Del Rey. There was a special New Years event here fireworks and glow show. Parking was tough since the lots filled up fast. The park is pretty big lots of walking around the whole park was decorated with glow lighted lights. They had a DJ, food trucks, face painting, photo booth and hot cocoa tables. They event went well it was well organized. Overall a fun night with friends to ring in the new year 2019.

A beautiful park with lots of waterfront views, and greenery. Private benches if you want to sit and relax, as well as picnic benches for quaint gatherings. The park is very tranquil and meditative. In the summer there are free music concerts, and a spectacular fireworks show on the 4th of July overlooking the water. A great nature park, safe, and perfect for all to enjoy.

One of the best parks for events, anywhere!! They have concerts in the summer, fireworks for the 4th of July, New Years, and have a fabulous Christmas show kickoff with fireworks and the yachts get fancy with lights!! The park is right on the Marina, great for walks. The park has benches great for picnics and barbecue pits. No play area-as in rides but the kids love seeing the yachts and marina

Aside the fact it took us almost two hours to get here by 8:30am. I am such a fan of this adorable little area that was chosen for our Annual work retreat. I'm not familiar with this area so we had reserved the "boat" that looks like an actual boat but is used for meetings and events. It has 3 levels to the boat to view the Mariana and an elevator for me who's is having back issues and can not do stairs right now. We where able to park in Lot 77 and took the cutest walk down the rock path to our awaiting work retreat. I personally think the upper deck (3rd) floor would be such a great event space in the evening.

Beautiful park and great place for some fresh air!! Came here for the Free Christmas Boat Parade and fireworks!!! It was crowded but amazing to watch. Parking is hard to find so if you decide to come next year, go early. Police block off the roads and entrance to the parking lots so be prepared for that.

What a great little park! There is free parking at the end of Mindanao (you have to pay on weekends), and there are lots of doggies to keep Joey company. Its surrounded on two sides by the Marina with boats, fishermen and sea lions sunning on the pontoons. They have doggie bags and waste disposals, a community room, and places to sit and ponder. There is also a covered area at the top of a small incline where you can sit and observe the scene, and there are several large family bbq areas. Agreed that on weekends it can get mobbed. Very nice during the week. Joey says woof!

During pandemic I took my son here to get his energy out in an enclosed and well tended environment. Nice breezes from the ocean also keep the temperatures a little bit cooler than other more inland LA parks. Another bonus - very, very few vagrants and hoboes - MDR ain't having that. Free parking during the weekdays.

There is a series of free concerts at Burton Chase Park during the summer. If there is an act you like, it is a great venue. I saw X there last Saturday. It was a great show. The stage is across from a grassy hill. If you want to be able to see, get there early. My pal and I arrived at 4:30 for a 7:00 pm show. We were able to sit right in front. Bring low back lawn chairs or a blanket. There are food trucks on concert nights. Be aware that alcohol is not sold at the venue. It is also on the list of prohibited items, but you can sneak it in if you are discreet. :)

Beautiful and clean park. Our group was lucky enough to have someone come early and snag us a great spot under one of the picnic pergolas. The park opens at 6am. The tables were clean, there were trash cans nearby, and the patrons sharing the BBQ/Picnic pergolas were friendly. Likely because of the seasonal concerts in the park, there were a ton of porta potties set up, but the park does have its own restrooms. We used one BBQ, but there were plenty available for grilling meats or for the BBQ chef. Most of the water view was blocked by the lineup of potties, but the ocean air was still prevalent. From previous experience, this park has a terrific walking path that is great for exercising or a casual stroll. Our group really had a great day using this location for our picnic/bbq.

we do visit Burton chase park for birthday parties even the park is beautiful itself, parking is always a trouble. They do charge 2 USD / per hour does not matter weekend or weekdays for all day. You want to pay for this? then good luck. The machines are super old, you cant even read what shows on the screen. this weekend I have spent 20 mins to pay parking. Credit card is not working, machine does not accept quarters, I just kept putting my quarters, it kept giving back. then you put a bigger dollar it does not return any change. this is robbery. You better keep carrying single dollars if you are gonna park there.

Great place to have event. Nice and quite with a beach breeze. Lot of room to put plenty of people.

First time I've visited this park was for 4th of July fireworks last night. Crowded as expected. Cool views of the harbor and marina. It's within walking distance for me so it was nice not having to drive and worry about parking. As for the fireworks itself, it was very underwhelming. I'll visit the park again...just not for the fireworks on the 4th.

Customer service is everything! While the natural beauty is on point! Please do not do business with these people! The staff is unprofessional and has no idea on how to deal with issues! They need communication and emotional intelligence training including the supervision! Unfortunately I was a fool to pay them when everyone else brought alcohol and whatever they wanted for free! The restrooms were nasty and the benches needs desperate upgrading! If you pay for an event don't expect a clean area! I was terribly disappointed! Because I served alcohol for my guest I had to hire two guards while others around us drunk freely w/o girds! The bar service had to have their own insurance like 2mil dollars worth, while those around us drunk freely! Again don't do business with these people they do not deserve your money!

Chace Park is the largest public park in Marina del Rey. I was having a late lunch down the street at Mendocino Farms and afterwards decided to head to the park to walk off my meal. The location of the park is a bit weird as it is at the end of a dead end street. Go further down and you are by the waterfront. Though it is by the water, this isn't a beach park nor is there any sand found here. Instead you will find a lot of boat docks, so this seems like the departure point for private boat owners to go boating. The park is geared towards outdoor activities as there are many benches and a covered picnic area suitable for barbecues. There is also a notable public art piece here called The Helmsman. If you are in the area and can't make it to one of the nearby beaches, this park is a nice and suitable place to walk around by the water. Though if I had the choice, I would go to the beach instead than come here again.

Parking: paid but lots I think the only thing that got me about this par is that i did have to pay for parking. I came here at 6PM on a Monday with my girlfriends to have a BBQ (they have grills). It was a low key, peaceful park with bathrooms easily accessible. I would come back and recommend if you want to do an outdoor bbq!

A very nice slice of green , close to the ocean, very near the city. Limited spots of Paid Parking available, max of 90 minutes, accepts plastic. There are other parking lots which are a short stroll. Lots of people were here, toting picnic baskets, blankets. Kids, Dogs, families - that tells me it is a well used area. Several covered tables (by reservation) , but otherwise, a lot of open space. I was in the community room, attending a Memorial service for a co-worker's family member. The room itself was quite spacious, although the tables, chairs , food was brought in by the caterer. AV system was working well. I appreciated that the most because we listened to family offering memories, music tributes and a video presentation too. Good palce to hang out with family, dogs!

This review is based on going here for a Summer Concert. I will never ever go back... or make sure you go earlier. I went through all of this and I was one hour early. Yes one hour early. 30 mins to get to the parking lot!! What?!! But I guess for a Roberta Flack concert, I guess so. It was $10 parking. Kinda of a far walk if you are handicap or older, which most of the people at the concert were. The place was super packed and odd. Hilly and the stage was on the bottom. I only had 4 feet by 3 feet for 5 of us. We were like sardines. On top of that, we were right behind the walkway and people kept stopping and just standing here to watch Roberta Flack. The sheriff was there constantly telling them to move but they ignored them. It was definitely a fire hazard. Then the person beside me kept smoking pot. I kept complaining but nope, she didn't care. I had kids!!! Not cool at all. The sheriff smelled it too but didn't do anything. Very disappointing. I will never go back to this event. It was such a hassle and oddly set up. There are so many other places for outdoor concerts that are much more comfortable. Ritz Carlton needs to sponsor these concerts and choose a better location.

Great Summer Concert Series. This a gem! Bring a lunch or dinner and enjoy the view of the Marina and all the boats. It's great to see the Sunset here. They also have a place to BBQ with a patio area.

Fresh air, nice breeze off the marina especially in the afternoons, free parking except maybe weekends. Busy on weekends. Many benches. Dogs allowed.

I used to love coming here on weekdays when I lived nearby. I moved far a couple of years ago and decided to come visit again on the weekend. To my surprise, you have to pay for parking on the weekends, which you don't have to do on weekdays. But I didn't find out because there are signs posted anywhere, because there aren't. No sign at the entrance of the park parking lot. Only a couple of "Pay Here" signs in the middle of the lot which you can only see if you park in the parking spot in front of them. If you park facing the park, you can't see them. I found out because they have a guy waking around giving everyone $63 tickets for not paying. We told him we didn't see the sign and he said, don't feel bad nobody sees them. So they know what they're doing. They do it intentionally. Instead of putting more signs so people can see them, they give out tickets. Never coming back again.

Great park if you want to just relax and enjoy. Very clean, not too crowded, awesome view. During summer, boat ride cost only a dollar!

I've been coming to this park for years. It's a great park with super nice views. It also has everything you need for a park including several different walking paths, grills, hangout areas, shelters for picnics, benches and again... a great view of the marina and all the nice big boats. While it may be depressing going there because it makes you realize that you'll never be able to afford a yacht like you see in the marina but... it is a great spot to hang out at. Parking lots are all around the area so parking is easy.

A refreshingly beautiful park tucked away by the water in MDR. I only just found out about this wonderful hidden gem of a park about a month ago - courtesy of the recommendation of a good friend - despite having spent the better part of the best five years on the Westside. Better late than never, though! _______________________________ - The park is exceptionally clean and well-kept. There's plenty of seating and even spaces for you to get your picnic on. There's also a nice circular walking path that gives you the opportunity to take in all that the park has to offer/ - In my opinion, there are few things more peaceful and serene than listening to the sound of waves passing by. Chace Park offers plenty of opportunities for patrons to take in the relaxing waters of MDR, with benches positioned pretty liberally around the water. If you happen to stop by on one of those quintessentially-Californian, cloud-free days, be sure to stick around for sunset; the view that you'll take in is not one to be missed! - There always seems to be something going on in and around the Chace Park area. We lucked out during our last trip, and saw what looked like a sailboat race taking place on the water. The expanse of ocean & sky - coupled with dozens of boats silently drifting by - was a beautiful sight that one might not necessarily expect to find in the LA area. - During our last visit, we also happened to stumble upon the crew from CSI (not sure which CSI series it was in particular!) filming an episode on the waterfront. The crew seemed to be wrapping up for the day, but it was still cool to get a behind-the-scenes look at one of my favorite shows during my grade school years. - Parking charges here are only enforced on weekends & holidays. That means that you can stop by here after a stressful day at work (and wait out while the rest of the city contemplates suicide amid rush hour traffic!!) and decompress for a little bit, all without having to pay a penny. ______________________________ I have no intentions of starting a family anytime soon (knock on wood!!), but if I had my own, I'd be sure to take them here. A breath of fresh air amidst the smoggy day-to-day routine here in LA.
