"A one-stop-shop for delicious food, brewed on-stie beer and live music all in one beautifully designed space. Best of all, the food served is not your local pub fare - think more pork belly, tagliatelle and hush puppies. If that's not enough there's also a music hall that was specially built to maximize acoustics." - Concrete

"The Burdock Bottle Shop is nestled behind the Burdock restaurant. At any given time, they’ll have a handful of unique brews crafted on-site in their tiny brewery. A large window from the street allows you to view the whole process. All their beers are also available on tap at the restaurant." - Zachary Radford

"Burdock feels more like a boho friend's house than a bar—if said friend also happened to have a live music hall and a restaurant. Somehow, though, the space still manages to feel intimate and refined. Beer's the name of the game here; the diverse mix includes Belgian sours, beers aged in whiskey barrels, Imperial stouts, various ales, ciders, and—wait for it—even a ginger kombucha on tap. If you like whatever you're drinking, pick up a bottle from the adjacent shop." - Todd Plummer

There are not many options for food. They are snack-sized and expensive for the size. Their beer has good quality. The music room is intimate. Unfortunately you can not eat there, you have to go to the restaurant and then come back. Staff is super friendly. Recommend.

4.4. Go for the beer, stay for the vibes. Have been here a few times for drinks over the past few years and it’s always great. Great lighting, great patio (in the summer), great beers, and a good vibe all around. Went recently for dinner- the service was great, and the food was also pretty good. Menu changes but there are some staples. Don’t sleep on the French fries or the lemon ricotta doughnuts! They have a rotating kombucha and some zero-proof options as welll!

Went to see a show in the performance room, whose shape is long and narrow like a former Victorian style home. The acoustics were outstanding. The lighting and the stage were amazing. Of course the artists were fantastic. However the seating was a bit of, only a few stops in the side and a few block fold up chairs. People decided to sit on the floor. I think they could do with 20 or so folding chairs. The pub portion was really hopping with a younger crowd, 20s to 40s. This was also looking and narrow like a second home converted to a restaurant. There's a cool patio on the side street as well. It's a place that would impress on a first or second date.

Food was good, everything was fresh and hot. Wedge salad and onion rings were great, bean dip was okay. Drinks were all great, beers were exceptional.

Google
Fries were great, well seasoned and crispy! The pickled egg was good too, classic balsamic edge and a medium-soft hard-boil. The beers are crispy and pleasant, tending towards sour over other profiles.

First time at this place. A quick top 5 add! The staff treated us like family and made our experience a 12/10. We came to see the live music my birds friend put on and left with a great new place to enjoy a crispy deluxe beer, a cheese platter and a few great songs from a couple local legends!

They have really nice ale beers and the beet salad is must to try! Very nice staff and cozy restaurant with great environment for dining

Google
Love it here! Good beers and tasty food. They always have seasonal dishes that are great! I have been on numerous occasions and never has a bad experience here. Though there are tasty dishes I wouldn’t necessarily go here for dinner because of their limited full sized options! Their food dishes are mostly best for sharing perhaps with the exception of a rotational salad and burger and fries.

Yelp
The last time I was in this building, it was Sasmart, the Portuguese department store and the park across the street was still for families. Well, times have changed and now we have Burdock Brewery in the building with a massive operation brewing suds. This is definitely something to check out when visiting Kensington Market. The loft design is very impressive along with the scale which is huge. Their bottle shop is a wraparound wall of coolers with an extensive collection of beers including several different types of IPAs, my fave! I tried the session IPA which means it is lower in alcohol, usually below 5% allowing the drinker to have a session of several beers instead of one knocking you off your game, like the stronger versions. These beers can be found in bars around the area, including my favourite bar, Handlebar basically across the street from the brewery. With the demise of Kensington Brewery, and the building up for sale, thank goodness we have a quality brewery serving a thirsty crowd here downtown and Amen to that! Highly recommended when in the area with friendly service and plenty of brews to sample, where you can buy one and drink it in the park across the street which will give you the consummate market experience and vibe : )

Yelp
great take out spot dine in option also available only thing i dont understand...they have a t-shirt; with their logo... walking advertisement for free for them.. so why is it 35/40 dollars for a "t-shirt" cherry beer is EXCELLENT

Yelp
Neighborhood is sketchy . Car break-ins, robberies. Don't park near the subway stations or leave anything if value in your car. This bar is nice though.

Yelp
This review is predominantly for Burdock's beer called, Best Fruits." It is a 1-2 year-old barrel aged sour beer aged on Ontario golden plums (80%) + saison aged on orange wine skins (10%) + blended with riesling on bottling (10%)...and oh my goodness...it was unlike anything I have ever tried before. Since it's aged on grapes, it smells like white wine and transports you to straight to Germany. It walks a tightrope between beer and wine dangerously well. It was refreshingly tart, and juicy like a plum. Crazy good. It cost a pretty penny at about $12 CAD a glass, but it was well worth it. We snagged the last two seats at the bar on a busy Friday night! We got lucky because there was a wait after us, so I'd advise trying to get there before 9. We received a warm welcome and excellent service from a new and good-humored bartender. It was her first week on, and she knew everything from the food and drink menu to detailed flavor profiles of all the beers we asked about! I only docked a star for the onion pakoras which were just okay. Were they tasty enough? Yes. But it was really just a ball of fried dough--I didn't get any onion strips like a traditional pakora. However do we all agree fried things + beer are great? (I would hope yes?) I can easily eat fried dough and beer, so in the end I can deal! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
Burdock has been very special to me during my mat leave. They welcomed me, my stroller, my baby, my mom friends and their strollers and their babies, in with open arms. They made my mat leave (pre-pandemic) fun, easy, social, normal - I love them for this. The staff are all amazing, the food is delicious, and the vibe is fantastic. So when we got locked up, I got scared I wasn't going to have Burdock in my life. Never fear! They do delivery, and included in their products are wine, sourdough bread and even sourdough starter so you can bake your own bread! Which I don't want to do, but you can! haha. I love supporting this amazing local joint!

Yelp
I came here on a Friday afternoon after work. The decor of the place was very hipster. They have seating both inside as well as patio seating. I ordered some samples of the beer for about half the price/ amount. I really enjoyed their sour beers and saissons. The brewery also makes bread and I tried their sourdough and beer bread with some pickled vegetables. Not a bit fan of the pickled stuff but the combination of the bread and beer was heavenly. They even gave us some more bread to go with the pickled stuff after we finished all of them. I have to say though, the food is a bit pricey for the amount you get. The beer prices weren't too bad. They also have a bottle shop that is open from 11 am-11 pm that sells both their beer and bread.

Yelp
BOTTOM LINE: One of the few local breweries with a full (and very decent) menu to go along with your liquid diet. I've been coming to Burdock for the past few years and I've seldom been disappointed. The staff are friendly, the space is comfy, and there's also a side room for shows that I've never been to but have heard good things. There's a spacious patio that's great in the summer (obvi), but also ample space inside. Their bottle shop is in the back, where you can also see their brewing equipment (you can only smell the fermentation when you use their bathrooms downstairs, jfyi). Their beers speak for themselves, and although this review isn't about any particular beer, I appreciate their efforts in continually experimenting with new things and releasing different things you can purchase. My previous faves were their TE (a sour) and their AMERICAN PALE ALE. Recently, I tried their GOOD GRAPES sour that tasted a bit too lemony for my liking, but to each their own. Their menu has also changed over the years, and on a recent visit I got to try their PORK SHOULDER TACOS (tender and tasty, you get three, and they were *really* well plated!), and their PIRIPIRI CHICKEN SKEWERS (I only had a taste and I thought they were decent, but is it okay if I thought the highlight of this dish were the roasted potatoes?!). They also have Kambucha on tap, so if that's your thing (and it did taste pretty good, but all Kambucha tastes the same to me) this is your place!

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch a few weeks ago with some family visiting from out of town. Their patio is wonderful. Great beer list. Food is on par with Toronto pricing (quite expensive) but that can be expected in the downtown core. Got a great selection of IPAs from their bottle shop as well.

Yelp
I wish there were half star ratings on Yelp, 3.5. The beer selection is great, as is the atmosphere, decor, and our waiter that night. I love how they have the side area with live music, it made for a great night! However, my only complaint is food portion size. We decided to share a few dishes opted for the the cheese plate (which came out tapa sized)- it wasn't enough to call it a 'plate' Also, ordered then cured meats plate but it wasn't served with bread or crackers- which was so odd! We asked for bread and they brought it over, I didn't see the bill breakdown so I'm not sure if it was an additional charge. The pretzels bites were average, good -but nothing more special the chain Annie's pretzels in malls. The tacos(2) and tomato salad were both good. Not to completely bash the menu but all four of us left hungry, so maybe they should list their menu as 'tapas style' or maybe it is labeled as a tapas brewery and we missed that. I'm not sure. I just think they need to reinvent their menu and make some kickass food, with fair portions! This place has so much potential but unless they change the menu I'd only come for beer and maybe an app.

Lily H.

Yelp
Beautiful venue with a great ambience. They specialize in hybrid beer/wines that are unique and hard to find anywhere else. They taste like a sour beer but more palatable. The "snacks" are culinary delights that are fusion dishes such as Indian pakora and German pretzels with sweet mustard dip (both are pictured)! Definitely a great spot for a cosy lunch dinner or weekend beer.

Lindsay K.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Interior is so lovely and staff friendly. Beers are excellent - really unique stuff. Food was good but very expensive (in fact, so were the beers, but because they were so creative I guess they felt more 'worth it'). We trekked over here on the subway and glad we did!

Yelp
The decor of this place is really classy and thought out. We were so impressed that a place of this caliber was in this particular neighbourhood. My husband and I brought my in-laws for Piano Fest in the Music Hall. We had a beer prior to the show. Both were really light and fresh tasting. We didn't have anything to eat, but the menu was only appetizers. While the beers are delicious, they were priced on the higher end. One beer with a small tip cost $10. The show inside the music hall was intimate and cozy. It only seats about 40 people, which was perfect for that type of show. We would return for the decor alone, but we could probably find just as good beers for cheaper somewhere else.

Brittany W.

Yelp
Lots of sour beer to choose from. Great ambiance for a date. Ok service. Also, there's a bottle shop on the side if you find a beer you like. I only had a sharing plate of pickled items that were quite sour with the beer. It was recommended by the bartender. Definitely keep that mind if you're thinking about ordering it!

Yelp
The Burdock opened about six months ago. Gord and I checked it out tonight. They have a shop where you can buy beer to take home. Their brewhouse is in the back. We sat at the bar, which is in the middle of the restaurant. They only serve their own beer. Gord enjoyed their saisons and brought some Wet Hop Pale Ale home. The staff obviously like each other ... they spent a lot of time hanging together. As such, I wouldn't give them high marks for customer service (Sam was the most helpful and friendly). This is the first brewpub I've been in that was upscale. In addition to the food offerings being higher end, a DJ starting spinning tunes at 10pm. I might stop in again if I was in the area but it wouldn't be a destination for me.

Yelp
On a quest to visit breweries in the city.. I will say this is one of the prettiest ones we've been to. Nice decor, quaint patio.. When it comes to the beer however, we aren't huge fans. They don't do flights, but they'll do small pours for ambiguous pricing. We tried four beers poured in a generic size and it cost over $20. It was also clear the server realized she wasn't getting much out of us, so we paid cash and left after she never came back after dropping off the beer. Mildly rude staff and for an inner city microbrewery, selection and pricing was just not clear (or available). Probably won't even go back.

Sue D.

Yelp
love their in-house beer! A limited but well executed pub type menu With great homemade fries however, a warm burger bun would be so much nicer than the cold one, which removed the heat from the meat Patty leaving the burger cold and "wet" showcasing the excessive salt, was not appetizing. the burratta with the grilled squash and red peppers is amazing !

Jon C.

Yelp
I only go to the retail store off topic the side. The beer itself has not disappointed, everything I get is pretty decent. However, I seem to always leave disappointed cause of maybe bad timing. I've been twice and each time they had beer that was a few hours from selling or like right on the table but not selling til they next day. And they were the ones that matched closest to my taste buds. They refuse to sell it to me even though it's right there. And I understand why they won't, but I'm still disappointed. I can't make it here that often and when you can't get what you want even though it is available makes me sad.

Christine M.

Yelp
This place is alright, if a bit weird. First, we noted how delicately and deliberately the place was appointed inside - beautiful tile, preciously built wooden patio - but then my companion pointed out how odd it was in contrast that the sticker chosen for the door to the bathrooms was one of those man/woman silhouette decals you buy at Home Hardware. Hipster irony or cracks in the surface? We were here for an afternoon drink before early dinner, so asked for a spot on the patio. There were a few groups here, but still tables empty and tons of space. The next weird thing was that the server could offer us only one stool. I wonder, do they try to fill this place up with standing people later in the evening, given that there's not even seating enough for all available tables? It's a style, I guess. And they do say sitting is the new smoking, so maybe that explains it. When a couple with a child came in, they worked a bit harder to accommodate the little one. We nabbed a second stool when another party left (we used to smoke, after all). He had the IPA (12 oz, $7) and I had the Classic Nula sour (16 oz, $7.50). We enjoyed these. The 12 oz seemed to be served in a wine glass (quite thin glass). Our server obliged me with a wee taste of the Passionfruit Nula so I could compare the two, which was kind. When we paid up we were surprised (and admittedly a bit disappointed) to see there's tax added onto the menu prices for these beers. So Burdock ends up being a lot pricier than most of the other tap-room bars around these parts. With all the oddities, I'd probably only head back here if I was in a pinch, or was coming to see a specific musical act in the attached event space.

Diana S.

Yelp
Simple elements taken to a higher level. Those four kind of potatoes were creamy, the cheese gave a fresh flavourful contrast. I really enjoyed the harmony in this appetizer. The beef of the tartar was good quality meat, it wasn't the classic dish, it had an interesting twist including crunchy nuts. That time I didn't try the main dishes because we had lunch before (kitchen opens at 5). I want to go back, the food gave me the impression of been performed by a talented chef, plus I liked the decoration. The cider they had on the menu was strong. They also have beer to go with cute bottles.

Kat J.

Yelp
This is a beautiful venue and they have wonderful beer! Yum! I tried quite a few of them. The only thing to keep in mind if they have a menu but it really is just snaky things. Don't come here if you want a full dinner. They have lovely fresh bread and the asparagus was DELICIOUS! mmm It had these little bread crumbs and cheese and butter. So nice! Highly suggest checking it out or even just visiting the bottle shop in the back for some to bring home.

Neil G.

Yelp
Ordered the following items: - chicken skewers 9/10 - cauliflower 6/10 - red onion pakoras 8/10 - pork tacos 9/10 Food was decent, ambiance was ok. Service was terrible (restaurant was relatively empty yet waited over 20 minutes for the drinks). Do not recommend.

Katharine Y.

Yelp
I went here with a few friends who are super into beer. I'm not into beer or wine, which is all they had, so they had nothing for me. No cocktails, no bar rail, JUST beer and wine. Servers are a little pretentious with their beer here and kind of made me feel ridiculous when I said I don't like beer, which I guess is fine, since that's what they specialize in. My friends seemed to enjoy the beer offerings here, but they are not full pints. Something worth noting. I ordered some food here and honestly, for the price I paid, I was surprised at how small the portions are. I got the roasted brussel sprout salad and while it was delicious, it was MAYBE an appetizer portion for a dinner salad price. I also got a cheese platter with some pickles and didn't find their offerings on the platter to be amazing. Decent, but not great. I couldn't wait to leave and have a real meal somewhere else. This would be a good place for someone who is really into microbreweries, but it definitely wasn't made for someone like me.

Itanni B.

Yelp
Decent beer options, limited food menu, but all on the pricier end and not the greatest portions. Great spot when not very hungry and are only looking for a nice dark space and only want a drink. Next door they have a music venue that we plan to check out soon.....will review it once we do - buy the tickets in advance...about $4-$5 more at the door. P.S. they sell their bread & beers to go as well.

Amy L.

Yelp
I was hesitant to go to Burdock after reading some of Yelp reviews for this place, but I absolutely loved this place! My boyfriend and I were won over as soon as we walked in. The decor is lovely, it's not too crowded, and the servers are so nice! Our server was very helpful when it came to beer selection and the food was good. There was a show going on in the music hall and it sounded like a good time - we were going to head over to check it out but the band finished before we got a chance! I'll definitely be coming back here again.

Carmell B.

Yelp
Small but quaint performance space. Arrive early to get a good spot! Excellent and attentive service but portion sizes were small. However, you can really taste the quality! The beer is $$$ but worth it! Please note that the barrel aged beers could run your bill up 20-25$. Will be back to see another show! Thanks Burdock!

Derek R.

Yelp
Second time visiting this comfy restaurant. Beer is always great, and this time was no different. Tired the peach lager which id recommend. Not overly strong flavour of peach. For food, as others have said the portion sizes aren't huge but the food and quality is worth the price. We had the pretzel and their tomato salad. The salad has been changed from how it was previously, and the change to it is a winner. Whipped goat cheese on the bottom with heirloom tomatoes, chunks of fresh bread and drizzled in a black garlic and olive oil dressing. Was absolutely amazing.

Jacquie O.

Yelp
Good beers/wines and atmosphere, service is friendly. The sour cherry beer is particularly delicious and can be bought by the can to go, which is pretty convenient, Menu is fairly tasty but kind of overpriced and a bit limited so don't come too hungry, and there are no cocktails or even hard alcohol, which threw me off the first time. I quite like the schnitzel bits.

Joseph B.

Yelp
We wanted to try this place because of the positive BlogTO review. Our experience was not good. In fact, it's one of the sadder dining experiences I've had. Service was extremely slow even though it wasn't busy. We actually tried to make a reservation for a party of 4 as it was a Saturday night. We were informed that it wasn't necessary and that they would have "space for sure". That in itself should have been a warning. Apparently this place is known for its bread. Yet every piece of bread we tried was burnt and charred black. We had the bread and olive oil - burnt! Steak on bread appetizer - dry as hell and burnt! Basically every bite was the taste of, as Ralph Wiggum put it, "burning". We ordered our mains: 3 pork shoulders, a steak frites, and a roasted cauliflower to share (we were a party of 4). They forgot the cauliflower and I wish they'd have forgotten the rest of the food. The pork came with a side of kale and cabbage - it was sour to the point of inedible. Basically it was like the food was cooked by someone who never tasted it. The pork itself was under-seasoned and bland. All you could taste was the dijon mustard slathered on. I threw in the towel after a couple bites. The meal is nicely summed up by Homer Simpson at the Chili Cook-off: "A bland, timid entry - suitable perhaps for patients recovering from surgery." My friends and I left hungry, with a taste of burnt toast in our mouths. So many mediocre places to eat in Toronto that are stellar in comparison. In a word: bad. NEXT!

Conrad G.

Yelp
Before reporting a jazz concert on assignment, I arrived early at the Burdock to kill some time before show. After having dinner earlier, I was immediately drawn to their signature dessert choice of personal pumpkin pie along with green tea sweetened with their personal beehive jelly. It was a very stumptuous and delightful treat that prepared me for the great live jazz that I was about to experience. The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff are courteous and made my evening a truly special one.

Cam D.

Yelp
I have held back my review on Burdock until I had time make my way through all their offerings. I figured if you market yourself as a brew pub the quality of your product should at least have some factor in the overall rating! Capitalizing on recent trends on independent craft beer this place has kind of a trendy feeling restaurant with a small counter/bottle shop attached to the back. I had some of the entry lvl offerings on tap like the blond and Saison Session Ale but wasn't impressed until I got home and had the Farmhouse Stout and West Coast Pilsner.. I will be grabbing a few more of these to share out with friends. I am going to get past the beer and actually order some food next time I promise. Some promising events were also on the calendar so check those out as well..

Aaron W.

Yelp
This place has a very laid back, welcoming demeanor. We sat at the bar and had friendly, charming service from...I wanna say Scott but that might not be right. I overheard the host say he was the general manager - and what a friendly GM he is. The food: We had the pakoras, some fries, the chorizo and the trout tacos. The food is more upscale than the vibe of the restaurant suggests, and generally it's delicious. We loved almost everything, especially the chimichuri that came with the chorizo. My one complaint is the menu didn't indicate the trout in the taco would be served raw. Because of this, I didn't eat it. Maybe I should have known and I just don't eat enough tacos. Then there's the beer. Burdock is a fun, local brewery and all their products deserve a taste. My favourite is the Té!

Abena K.

Yelp
I tried this place last Saturday on a whim and I am so glad I did. We ordered the Brussels sprouts poutine , corn beef tacos and nachos . The food was good portions, very flavourful and so good. I did not know this place was brewery so I shall be back to sample their beers. I really like the ambience and atmosphere . Its good for dates , dinner with friends

Jannies L.

Yelp
Did a drive by stop here during a craft beer hop along Bloor for my partner's birthday. We started on the patio but then with the rain we moved inside. It was a bit dark inside for the three of us. The decor was unique but the tables and chairs weren't very comfortable. Compared to the gorgeous patio, it wasn't as nice to hang out in. We ordered empanadas, sour dough bread and their IPA. It was all good but a tad over priced for the brews and a few slices of bread. The service was unmemorable. It might have been different if we went later in the evening or as a date night. Would come back if we're in the area but it definitely won't be our first stop for food/drinks.

Donald G.

Yelp
Great food and great service. Creative menu. Lots of fun. Also, excellent wine list and recommendations. Great pricing.

Erica D.

Yelp
Cute and classy looking place. The food was actually really good - tried the burrata and the pakoras and both were great, though the burrata did not come with enough things to actually put the cheese on. The patio tables are extremely tiny, designed for drinks only. The beer was okay, nothing spectacular, and came in tiny glasses. Certainly not pint sized. Service was fine. Decent but not a particularly memorable experience.

Justine C.

Yelp
This is a romantic beer place! I love the cute tables and chairs, the ambience, the plants, and the beer, of course. I like how the beer selection is organized by mood or style, and enjoyed some bottles that were brewed and conditioned in-house. The food menu is limited but I suppose they don't want to make that their focus. Service was great - didn't have to wait long for anything even though it was a bustling and busy Friday night.

Billie-Jo G.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but it was disappointing. Worst craft beer I have ever tasted. Gave me a headache. The service was also lacking. I felt like our servers had something better to do than serve us although we did have one really great server who made up for the others. It's a hipster place. Looks great but lacks any real substance. I won't be going back here. ETA: The one redeeming thing about this place was the music. Great DJ the night we went.

Jared R.

Yelp
Much better experience last time I was here. Got to try all the food and the beers were much better ! Service was also very accommodating.

David L.

Yelp
Nice romantic decor inside. Quick service. The beer was eminently affordable and quite delicious. Tried the Hoppy Heffé and the Cider. Also ordered the bread basket and had the best sour dough in a long time! Needed some more oil with it though. Great place for a date or a catch up with an old friend.

Morgan M.

Yelp
I don't understand the mediocre reviews here. This place was really wonderful. The food was really really yummy (tapas style) and the beer and really good. The patio makes a great place to be with friends. So glad we found this place.

Tom F.

Yelp
The brews at this place have come a long way since I last visited a couple years ago. Tried a nice APA last night, then switched to their IPA. Was sad to hear the passionfruit infused beer had run out. Otherwise, they had an impressive selection of varied taps (all their own). Some sour beers, a lot of hop forward beers, a couple saisons, etc. Nice list overall. Very nice interior, and a good room for live music as well. Lighting is appropriately dark in the music room, with a spotlight onstage which helps direct attention to the performers, and works to minimize chatter so you can focus on the bands. There was a dedicated sound person last night. Not sure if that's their own, or was brought in. You will be served by lovely women that I imagine are semi-succesful aspiring actors, or working on their PhDs, or visiting from another country. There were no male staff working last night. My main issue with this place is the price. Simply put, it's far too expensive. "Pints" come in a 16oz glass. I'm sorry, but that's not a pint, and never will be. If I'm drinking a five percent beer at eight bucks a glass, please pour me a proper serving (18-20oz). It's insulting. Several of the stronger beers were served in 12oz glasses. Enjoy your beer that lasts five minutes. Furthermore, their house white is ten bucks a glass. Help a brother out! All in all, I appreciate the beer being made here, but it's not on the same level as Bellwoods (which it's clearly modelling after now). Adjust your prices accordingly to avoid alienating the neighbourhood. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Yelp
delicious farm to table food and my favourite- KOMBUCHA on tap. they brew their own beers (epic!) + they make their own sourdough and rye seeded bread? they exhibit all the qualities that a bread-a-holic, such as myself, look for. portions are small and a tad expensive but SO worth it when you know the ingredients are sourced locally, wholesome and nutritious. the pork melts in your mouth and the pickled veggies were to die for.

Yelp
Went to see a band in the hall... Cool room... Sound was great... Limited capacity but very cozy and cool.

Yelp
Delightful little place near Dufferin station. They supposedly have live music, and were supposed to the night I went (as advertised on their site), but it didn't happen. I wasn't disappointed by this. Instead, we sat outside at the communal seating, and enjoyed food and drinks and caught up with friends. I had this sweet beef dish. It was on the small plates menu and was super tasty. My partner had the Trout Tartine. I had the Alchemy Kombucha (which is non-alcoholic but delicious) and he had the peach berliner (super sour). Later our friend ordered the Sourdough Bread (which comes with a warm cheese to dip in) and a pear berliner (which is less sour). Overall, I loved the atmosphere of the place. It's a great spot to catch up with friends (or take a tinder date!). It's getting colder now, so I don't see the patio being open for much longer, but it's just super cute. The service was wonderful, friendly and fast. It could be a stuffy place, however, it's just too laid back and casual to ever feel that way. I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Fun place in Bloorwest and a nice addition to the community. Beer is tasty - I'm not a huge beer fanatic but I enjoyed the variety. The menu is a bit small and don't expect the usual pub food. Plowman's Platter was good with nice mix of bread, pickled food and some relatively bland goat cheese (more like cream cheese), mushroom tartine was fine but not bursting w flavour and same with beet salad. All fine but nothing outstanding and the dishes we picked all had the same 'feel and texture' to them (ie slightly mushy, pickled, etc). Would like to see a bit more extensive menu and a bit more work on flavour / seasoning. Live music in the music hall is great. Lovely space, great music and fair price - would absolutely go back there for a drink and music and skip the front of the house.

Yelp
The beer selection (at least when I was there) is very one dimensional, fruity flavours. The service is good and if sours or fruit infused beers are you thing, you'll probably like it.

Yelp
My favourite new bar in Toronto. This place has everything you could ask for: excellent food (the bread alone is worth the price of admission), a solid beer selection, friendly service, great ambiance and decor, and a killer patio. Also awesome: concerts every night in the other room, kombucha on tap (!), clean bathrooms, veggie-friendly menu, conveniently close to the subway, and from the looks of it, they are opening their own brewery in the back. This place checks every box for me and has rapidly become my go-to when meeting friends on the Bloor line.

Yelp
Good beer, a lot of sours from what I saw. They are however ridiculously overpriced. Regardless of something being a special cask/premium beer, $20 for a pint just isn't acceptable.

Yelp
We waited a little bit longer than normal for service, which was absolutely fine because I'm a bartender and I get it. Take the rush with a smile. The male bartender was pouring beer like a pro. I was impressed. I could have sat there and watched him do his job for half of an hour. The beer was great, he was super kind and apologetic when he didn't have to be, and overall, we loved the place because of HIM.
