The castle was absolutely spectacular! Exploring Budapest's rich history and witnessing how the city has risen from adversity to reclaim its proud heritage was fascinating. Even on a rainy day, the castle grounds and breathtaking views left us in awe! The beautiful water fountain was a delightful bonus. This experience is a must-see for every visitor—truly a highlight of our trip!

We went on a bus tour around castle. Worth it. Don't waste time walking around and it's hop on hop off wherever you want. The ticket is for the whole day. Excellent choice for us. Got to go inside Sandor Palace. Open only for 2 days for Cultural Heritage Day. Lucky us.

It is a must to visit when in Budapest. The city is amazingly beautiful and every place has its charm but this place holds a lot of history of an empire. Most part of the buildings were destroyed by war world II, including the palace, but they’re doing an amazing job rebuilding it while taking us back in time. We loved it and it is an experience that I absolutely recommend if you are a Museum and history lover. PS. Is has elevator in all its floors which makes it wheelchair accessible for the palace visitors.

The funicular from the roundabout below is nice but not necessary if it’s a nice day that’s not too hot - the stairs are also quite nice and don’t take very long and give you a lot more time to enjoy the view and take photos. The art gallery is also worth it for the collection, as well as the view from the dome that comes with the ticket!

A most visit in Budapest. Amazing view of the town and nice buildings. Some of the buildings are original and other rebuilt after they were destroyed in the war. Some are still work in progress. You can walk around and enjoy the fountains, restaurants and galleries.

The Budapest Castle Complex houses a museum of art and great many palatial buildings. However you will be hard-pressed to find any castle. Defensive walls? nope. Moat? nope. Bastions? nope. This is a palace, not a castle. I guess there was a castle here once...There are some restaurants when you get through the wooded hill to the summit. Expect to pay some of the highest prices for average food and service. Worth visiting but not as spectacular as some other palaces that you'll find in Europe.

Buda Castle is well worth the visit! We took bus 216 up the hill, which made the journey easy and convenient. Exploring the castle grounds was a delightful experience, with stunning views and rich history at every turn. After taking in the sights, we made our way down the hill on foot, which allowed us to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Budapest.

The castle surrounds are very spectacular and well worth a visit. Would recommend you use the Official Castle Tour golf carts to move around. This will allow you to see more of the castle grounds. The carts stop in four locations, allowing for shorter walks to places like the Fisherman's Bastian, Castle, Matthias Church, Buda Tower, History Museum, and the gallery. The carts do pick-ups at each stop every 10 minutes. Makes it easier to get around if you have dodgy knees or not very mobile. The views from most places are spectacular, back toward the Parliamentary Building and Pest.
