I like the bike shop AND the cafe! Breakfast was good, and we came back in the afternoon to browse around the bike shop area. Trust me, the owners/employees in the shop were VERY nice and professional, as well as knowledgeable. It's actually very hard to find this in a local bike shop. Thanks!

We strolled into Broomwagon because of the vegan menu options! The red eye coffee was very tasty with the dark chocolate flavor addition & coconut milk. The vegan BLT was desirable until you taste the carrot bacon. The carrot bacon needs seasoning, plus a more crispier taste. The baristas are super friendly and helpful!

If I could give this bike shop 10 stars I would and I am not an easy grader. I was from out of town and had a warped rotor on my new e-bike. I was met with the warmest welcome and a wonderful young lady lady name Pauline who put my bike immediately on the rack and did a remarkable job straightening my rotor. She absolutely knew what she was doing and having grown up in a family run bike shop I know good mechanics. She saved the day for me so I could ride the next day and I will always remember that some people are just plain nice and take joy from helping others. It was a great experience.

Love the patio with a mixture of seating options, a beautiful touch of street art and regularly some kind of local live music. The house chai (especially as a milkshake) is out of this world. Worth stopping into some of the neighboring shops, as well.

This is a small coffee shop that is actually inside of a bike repair place of the same name and company. I don’t own a bicycle but I hear they do fast and awesome work. Something I meant to take a photo of and complete forgot to do was the light fixture in the main dining area - It was made with industrial bulbs and bike chains! One of my favorite lights I've ever seen. The atmosphere at The Broomwagon was lovely. Very cozy and with the sunset starting on the north side of town, it was lit beautifully. No space for a lot of people and when we were there, it was only us and one other couple with a laptop watching last week Game of Thrones episode together in a corner. The outside patio was huge and had lots of seating as well as a sort of outdoor flower garden. My favorite part - possibly of the entire trip, was the giant mural painted on the brick wall of the next door building. A dozen origami birds soared above us was we sipped our milkshakes outside. And the milkshakes were fabulous, but took a long time to make in comparison with other places. Although their food menu Is very limited (about a dozen items total) most of them are ‘hipster’ and involve either kale, quinoa, or both. We came for milkshakes so this didn’t bother us, but we may not be eating dinner there anytime soon.

I'm not a bike person. From a food perspective, I didn't have the best service experience, having ordered in advance and getting there to some confusion as they didn't seem aware of my order. Then it seemed like they left it lying around a while before actually telling me it was ready. Other customers had similar struggles. I tend not to focus that much on service because it varies person to person, but it wasn't ideal. I was happy for the option for a vegan breakfast burrito, which had tofu, avocado, and potatoes, but for the price I wasn't impressed. My potatoes were likewise fine, but I wasn't sold that either was worth the cost or the wait. The chai latte I really came for had a peppery kick and wasn't sweet at all, which may be a good or a bad thing depending on one's perspective. I could imagine them doing better, and particularly I wonder if it's better to eat in person.

Picked up some breakfast sandwiches, coffee and smoothies before we hit the road and this place was delicious! The sourdough bread they use is scrumptious and was crisped to perfection. The hot to trot vegan bean patty sandwich was pretty dang spicy and I like it hot! The Green Vaccine matcha smoothie I had was different but definitely tasty. I've never had anything quite like it but definitely felt very healthy. Only bummer was they were out of non-dairy milk for the coffees and smoothies. Service was super friendly though both in the cafe and when I wandered into the bike shop. Definitely in a cool neck of the woods where hipsters can hang out and get some good veggie/vegan opts.

I've been here a few times for both breakfast and brunch. I love the outdoor seating area on a nice day and food here is great! The vegan BLT was a first for me but I loved it! The "bacon" is smoky marinated carrots and the sourdough bread with salad really elevated my meal. They have really reasonable prices and great atmosphere for hanging out or catching up with friends. The only reason I'm taking a star off is the service. While the workers are very friendly and helpful, expect to wait a bit for your food. Additionally, when I came for breakfast, my boyfriend ordered a very carnivorous burrito while mine was vegetarian. When they brought out the food, the staff mixed up the two. Luckily, he took a bite first and realized the "bacon, sausage and chorizo" burrito was mine-- with avocado and tomatoes. If I had taken the bite first, I would have been much more upset.

This bike shop has a firm place in this family's heart. We've been back in Lexington for a little over one year now and have had nothing but fabulous service from Broomwagon for our bikes and jogging stroller over three visits. Each time, we're met with kindness, joy, and professionalism. No issue is too small (tire valves on the stroller) or too dirty (completely rehabbing and repairing bikes long neglected in a barn). And we're so grateful for their mobile service! The prices are totally reasonable. It's the best bike shop I've encountered. And, the sandwiches and coffee next door are yum-yum!

We contacted Broomwagon and Bikes who in addition to a brick and mortar store, have a mobile van, fully equipped to service and/or repair our Schwinn 6 speed bike before passing along to granddaughter. We scheduled the time on their website and they followed up with questions about the bike. They arrived on time, were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They went completely over the bike and then told us what they wanted to do for service and repair- also advising of total cost! I feel like many people don't realize that Broomwagon has a little cafe in addition to their bike shop (even though they call out coffee in their name). I've found it to be a neat little spot for lunch, or a quick stop for coffee. Their menu is very vegetarian friendly if that's your thing and you can enjoy your lunch either inside (in non covid-times) or in their outdoor courtyard. Aside from their small parking lot there is plenty of street parking so I've never had a problem finding a spot. I did find it odd that, while they are a coffee shop, they don't open until 9am which means I'm unable to stop by on work days.

Such a cute spot! Stopped in for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Lots of vegan options, and the coffee was brewed perfectly. I absolutely loved the decor and appreciated the bicycle touches throughout. The guys in the shop were very friendly as well. Had a great experience, came by to get rim straightened, trued. They took care of it on the spot. Just 15-20 minutes. Looked around store little, went around to cafe window ordered Third Eye coffee, and 2 egg breakfast wrap. Came with salsa, peppers slices, and and awesome maybe habanero sauce. The coffee is good and strong with no bitterness. The egg wrap is good, salsa fresh, but that yellow habanero sauce was delicious, spicy and had lots of flavor. Overall one of better Bike shop experiences and cafe is nice.

This was a DoorDash delivery during COVID 19. I ordered the breakfast wrap, made with fried eggs, tomatoes, mozzarella. I added bacon, which added a savory component. I also added grilled onions, but I couldn't taste them. The wrap was grilled well and had plenty of cheese. It was pretty tasty. You can add a multitude of veggies, cheeses, jams, and other toppings. I also got the Puerto Rican beans a la cafe, which is vegan and has beans, potatoes, onions, and "secret spices." Toward the end of the beans, I got a little bit of a kick, but the spice seemed a little uneven, as it was bland before the end. This could also be due to the dish having to be transported for delivery. I ordered chips and salsa too. The chips are locally produced. The salsa has a lot of flavor, is fresh, and produced in-house, but it's not typical. It was very chunky and tasty, but also had a citrus or fruit taste to it. It was good; just don't expect regular salsa. This restaurant has a lot of breakfast fare, coffees, smoothies, and vegetarian and vegan dishes. I would try this place again.

I previously posted a review of the Cafe at this location. This review is for the bike store. My husband and I are in the market for an eBike. We stopped by to see what this store had to offer. The employee was very nice and informative and we really like the option they sell, the Kona bike is definitely one we will be considering. Also, if we decide to get a RAD ebike this store is authorized to work on them, so definitely a plus.

I came here when it first opened and wow! It gets busy with college students! I like that it's both a bike shop and coffee shop. They now have a beer garden. I had iced coffee which was pretty strong (at the time). Outside, my friends and I took pictures by a mural. It had origami birds all over it. Can't wait to come back again sometime!

Ordered delivery from here but unfortunately the food that arrived was pretty inedible. My husband had the breakfast burrito that was covered in cilantro and tasted mainly of salt. My vegan breakfast bowl was not as advertised - unseasoned and hard potatoes topped with massive chunks of salty carrots and rubbery tofu. No black beans, sweet potato mix, zhoug or avocado was included. Really poor. The smoothies were fine. Don't do delivery online if you are not going to uphold your standards. Very expensive mistake that has gone straight in the trash.

What an incredible, unusual, and eclectic place to visit. The interior was nicely decorated with large windows to see the beautiful garden. I ordered a small mocha latte and a breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was by far the best I have ever had. You could just taste the freshness of the egg, cheese, and tortilla shell. My only complaint is that I did not order two, one to eat there and one to take home. Yes, it's that good!

I loved this event because I'm always trying to find a new spot to check out and this was one on my list. Glad to have experienced the wonderful hospitality of the staff and explore both sides of the cafe and store. The food selection is very elegant and tasteful, not a lot of meat options but that's okay, as the fact that they serve coffee and alcoholic beverages make up for that. Besides, their salads and sandwiches were super delicious along with the bumble buzz coffee, which was very yummy. I'd highly recommend trying this drink. If you have any bike questions, you should most definitely come here, have a bite or a drink and ask your questions away, their bike expert can assist you with what you may need to know. I hate myself for waiting so long to try this place. Coffee/bikes/beer/food all rolled into one dope place is tough to compete and is certainly unlike anything Lexington has ever seen. What to order - the grilled cheese What side - it's tough...try them all What to drink - their coffee is excellent and the beers are cold. Pick your poison Ambience - hipster heaven with all the fixins. Parking - behind the building or on the street. You're in the hood so be careful.

So glad this month's Yelp event was held at Broomwagon this evening- otherwise I may never have discovered this unique establishment! Both a bike shop & restaurant, this place is truly one of a kind. The food was distinctive & tasty. Definitely recommend the chickpea cilantro salad and veggie wrap! The kale salad was fresh and not bitter in the slightest (truly a feat), and the grilled cheese on sourdough had a hint of lemon and basil to it- which sounds odd but was delicious. I also had a chai latte which was refreshing! I definitely plan on going back to try their brunch. Thank you Heather P for planning such an awesome event!

I was glad to have found this place: and seeing a recent, scathing review on Google had me curious...especially the beautiful response from the business! Especially because our visit here was the complete opposite of what the one negative review said. I'm glad we got to try this spot before moving onto Knoxville.

Very cute little cafe attached to a bike shop. Great coffee. If you don't know what you want, saying 'dealer's choice' yields great results like a lightly sweet Cuban latte. The smoothies are fabulous. BLT on sourdough was tasty and comes with your choice of a side. Korean noodle salad special featured some locally made kimchi style kraut and colorful blend of tasty fresh veggies. They have several options for addins to help you customize your meal. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

My latte was quite tasty with a beautiful cap of foam. I've had more robust roasts (which I prefer), hence the 4.5 instead of full 5 rating. I ordered the grits bowl ($8) which was delicious and filling. The presentation was quite pleasing (we eat with our eyes, too!) in a rustic country way. The staff were friendly, efficient, and informative. I can't wait to come back again.

My review is based on my experience with the bicycle shop rather than the coffee shop. If you're looking for a decently priced, well stocked bicycle shop, don't come here. Everything from the tires and tubes to the tools are all heavily marked up. I spent ~$350 for one gatorskin tire, portable pump, and to have my bicycle packaged and shipped. I spoke to one of the workers and he encouraged me to bring in a bicycle box, since they were low. When the day came to ship my bicycle, a different worker said they had plenty of boxes. They never took down my email address, so I did not receive a tracking number. Thankfully, I received it with minimal issue. For some reason, they placed my handle bar cockpit through the spokes of my back tire and it was fairly difficult to remove while trying not to damage the bicycle. The only positive thing is they accept the UK Bicycle Program vouchers. Overall, my whole experience was not great. I would advise going somewhere else in town for your bicycle needs like Bicycle Face right down the street as a more affordable option with better service. Although, their bourbon ball Latte was phenomenal during coffee week!

I have to say, I had never been in here before. I don't exactly ride a bike (I know how, I just don't have one) or exercise (yeah, I got no excuse for this one) so I never really had a good excuse to some in here. There is a stunning amount of decor and art around the place. First, there is the bike shop. You can buy a buy, test ride a bike, have your bike fixed air up your bike...you get the idea. Then there is the little cafe area. The menu is filled with coffee, teas, milkshakes, beer and smoothies. I would have thought the place was a vegetarian cafe except they seem to offer a BLT, because even vegetarians love bacon ;) They offered us some snacks that I probably should be eating like a refreshing chickpea salad, pickled squash, and kale salad. I say should be ya know because of the lack of exercise, but I am also the same person with a bacon tattoo. The grilled cheese was interesting. It has a citrus twist to it. I have friends that this is going to be a perfect place for them to chill, tinker on their bikes, have a cup of tea, maybe a pint (or two) and listen to music in the side yard. This is probably a great place to chill during the night market. The prices aren't over inflated and you can still people watch. I want to thank Tiffany (and the crew at Broom Wagon) for hosting us and sharing their dreams about their bikeshop/cafe. And as always, I want to thank our fearless leader for going out in to the community and finding these gems. YOU GUYS ROCK.

It's great to see so many coffee shops around downtown lex. I really enjoy anything that isn't Starbucks (admittedly love Starbucks too!) for something different. I just got a brewed coffee at Broomwagon but they have lots of other options plus some food items too. I think it's neat they are a bike shop/coffee house all in one. I brought my mother here while we were in town since she is a huge cyclist. Half of the space is a bike shop and the other half is the coffee shop. She ordered a coffee and grabbed a bottle of locally brewed kombucha from the fridge, I ordered the bumble buzz latte (latte with bourbon honey, HIGHLY RECOMMEND), and then a cauliflower quesadilla to split. While we waited for our order she happily looked around the bike shop and found a few things. The food was great and the beverages were amazing! The baristas are friendly and the inside is nicely decorated with bike-themed accessories.

I only had one chance to eat there and had a solidly 3/5 star experience. However, only going once I don't feel it would be fair to give it 3 stars. I ordered a latte with almond milk with a veggie wrap and two sides. After tip it came out to just over $20. Latte - it came in a gorgeous mug with a perfect layer of foam. The actual coffee was super gritty with almond bits. I sipped down half before giving up. I drink keurig coffee so it isn't like I'm a coffee snob. I just got tired of chewing my drink. The wrap - Nothing negative to say but very typical and not a remarkable wrap for $8 bean side - the names escape me but one was a bean-based thing that arrived in a blazing hot bowl and was completely ice-cold in the center. If someone had even taken the time to stir it halfway through microwaving it, it would have been palatable although the flavor was still lacking. hummus and tortilla chips - For $3 I was surprised it was a handful of tortilla chips and a small to go container of hummus (maybe 2.5-3 TB). The hummus was a bit garlicky and I would have preferred a more traditional chip like a pita to make it feel like a better deal. My main reason for going was to try the cauliflower "ceviche" heavily featured on the online menu but it was no where to be seen on their wall. Overall, it was my most lackluster meal in Lexington but I really liked the vibe and would give it another shot if I was a local. The vibe of this place is 5 star townie awesome. I loved looking at the community board and getting a sense for the activities available and values of the business.

There is just so much to love about this place and not enough space to list it all. When you mix a bikeshop and a coffeeshop, you get Broomwagon! The bike shop is small but don't let that keep you away from talking to the staff. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and fun!!!! They carry some unique bikes and I have already fallen in love with one. If only I still lived in Lexington to go back to buy that beauty!!!! Anyway, back to the review...once you spend some time at the bike side, walk to their café side. It's small but they serve quite a variety of drinks and foods. Smoothies, juices, coffee, tea, and BEER!!! Yes, they serve local beer!!! Let's not forget the sandwiches, soups, side salads.. All made in house.. All very fresh.. and all so delicious! Coffee is good and locally roasted! The latte with bourbon maple syrup warms you inside and out with a touch of sweetness! They make their own chai tea, which is so different than the commercially available concentrates many shops use. My friends like the smoothies here! The BLT sandwich is a killer with perfectly crunchy bacon and lots of flavor! Both the corn and the clam chowder were delicate and satisfying. Many of the accessories from light fixtures to toilet paper holders are bike related..And the most important part is that the staff is pretty AMAZING! I would say that there is no other place like this in Lexington. It is unique, local, and a must visit!!!

I was happy to finally visit this gem. The atmosphere is unique as you're surrounded by bicycles and cycling equipment. I tried the rosemary molasses latte since I thought it was an unusual option. Ordered my first pour over coffee cause I figured this would be a good place to try it and I was quite pleased! Let me start by saying that when I walked into Broomwagon, I wanted to love the place. The guys who run it are a handful of 20-something hipsters who have created a comfortably casual place to enjoy a peaceful meal. And I did appreciate the atmosphere and the nice guys working there. Where Broomwagon falls short is in the food and drink department. My chai latte had very little chai flavor, and Paul's bumblebee coffee was "okay." Paul ordered the French toast, which was their cinnamon rolls transformed. It tasted good, but when you order French toast, that's all you get. Something (a protein) was noticeably missing. The same went for my omelette, which tasted good (with the exception of the raw onion inside it), but was served with nothing else. How about a piece of toast or some fruit? We paid twenty something dollars for a small coffee, a large latte, French toast and an omelette and walked out hungry. I think Broomwagon has a great deal of potential. If they add some accompaniments to their breakfast dishes, they will be heading in the right direction.

Four generous stars for a unique and enjoyable Yelp event. === === === Many thanks to Tiffany and her crew for having us, and for our awesome leader, Heather, for setting things up. I can say I've only ever been to one bike shop before so my patronage at one is quite limited. I don't own a bike, and haven't since I broke my leg riding one as a kid. But this was groovy place to check out what's on the market, get some air in your tires, and even enjoy a bit to eat and drink. The small menu of beer, smoothies, shakes, coffees & teas, and items like grilled cheeses, BLTs, with sides like chickpeas, chips & salsa, and pickled squash seemed to be a strangely good fit with a bike shop. At first glance, I assumed it was a vegan or vegetarian menu but there was one offering with bacon that I saw so it's semi-vegetarian I guess. One nice thing is that the food is all "KY Proud" in the sense that all of the ingredients listed during Tiffany's talk with us were KY made. The cafe area is quite small for any type of crowd or group function, and if you hit a rush the kitchen may back up a bit because we were told it's quite tiny. Luckily, the building's businesses share a spacious courtyard. While outside, I was able to listen to a country band play live. If you're a bicycle person, a new age hipster, or just enjoy unique cafes, I'd recommend checking out this place.

Prior to the event, I was unaware of Broom Wagon so it was good to try a new place. Honestly I had to look up what broom wagon the name stood for. As it turns out it's a van that follows a bike race and picks up riders who will not complete the race. That kind of set the tone for a bike shop that evolved into so much more. Tiffany, one of the main manager / owners, told us a bit more about the history of the shop. The location started as a bike sales & repair place and, because they wanted to serve beer, ended up morphing into a small restaurant as well. Much of the fare that they serve has a vegetarian flair to it but was incredibly good to sample. They also have a coffee shop with many specialty drinks and some signature drinks of their own. I was able to sample the grilled cheese sandwich, vegi wrap, chick pea salad, kale salad along with a Bumble Buzz latte (flavored with bourbon honey - YUMMY!) and everything was fantastic! I was very impressed with the food offerings. Two other quick mentions - there was an acoustic band playing music on the evening of the event. It was a pleasant night and the band helped create a great ambiance. I understand they have bands out regularly. Also, all of the staff at Broom Wagon were incredibly nice and willing to help. They made the experience great. Hats off to Heather and the Yelp crew on another great event!!

Food here is superb, as is the coffee and choices on the menu for all sorts of drinks and breakfast/sandwich items. Very good and unique atmosphere inside.
