Britania Art Deco Boutique Hotel, a Lisbon Heritage Collection

I came here with my husband. We travel several times a year. We loved our stay at Hotel Britania. In all our travels, this may be the friendliest staff ever. Every single person had a smile. The location was just a short walk to the fancy shopping on Avenue de Liberdade but still quiet. The room was very clean with great AC. The decor reflected the rich history of the hotel. Highly recommend you try this one.

This is without out doubt one of my favorite hotels in the world. It is truly a unique property which is so attractive to guests. From the moment you enter, you are welcomed by staff who treat you like you are family rather than a paying guest. Nothing is too much trouble and you truly feel you will enjoy your stay. If you enjoy the multi National chains, then this is not the place for you but this amazing hotel is full of character, charm and history. From the moment you enter you are enveloped in art deco styling! It is simply beautiful! ||It is very convenient to the Avenida Metro station and even closer to the luxury designer shops. It is in the very heart of Lisbon but you would never know it being tucked away just off Avenida da Liberdade.||If you’re going here, buy the Lisboa card for the duration of your stay and hop on and off trams, buses, funiculars and the Metro. There is so much to see and the Britania is ideally located. I guarantee you will come back again to this hotel. I am going back again! ||The reviews tell you how good it is….see for yourself. My wife and I enjoyed a three day break with easyJet. We arrived by Metro and returned to the airport using Uber as there may have been Metro strikes.

This hotel is a gem. Wonderful location and great service. We stayed on the 6th floor and it was quiet and clean. The bed, linens and shower were very nice. We loved how charming it was and its history. The staff bent over backwards to help us. Some reviews have stated it is dated- we found that added to the charm. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

This art deco gem, of the latter third of the art deco period, is an absolute gem. The service and atmosphere are of a bygone age. The furniture and interior design are original and absolutely everything works as it should. We loved it. Spacious rooms, exemplary friendly service, comfortable bed, delicious breakfasts with a generous buffet. We left on my wife’s birthday (I hadn’t told the staff but reception had obviously noted it off her passport) and at breakfast they gave us champagne and a pastel de nata with a candle and sang happy birthday. So yes, a wonderful overall experience and good value for the extremely high standard of the product. Very highly recommended. Our heartfelt thanks to the Britania team.

Wow! Such an amazing find in Lisboa. This hotel was top notch in every way. The history, décor, period furniture, old photos – I could have spent a whole day just touring the hotel itself! Our room was super spacious, comfortable, extra clean, and quiet. The location is excellent, with the metro just a quick and easy 3-min walk away. As people keep mentioning, the staff is exceptional – professional and attentive yet friendly. Breakfast was super tasty, and the breakfast room and table setting made us feel like royalty. Can’t say enough about this Lisboa gem and can’t wait to return to one of our favorite cities. Special shoutout to Larissa, who was extra kind regarding our reservation. See you next time!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. This is a small boutique hotel, at an excellent location. It does not have a grand lobby, but is very comfortable.|Room came with a complimentary decanter full of port, which was much appreciated|Rooms are large, full working order and generally very comfortable as well|Breakfast is composed of a small buffet, with everything you could possible want. Excellent food quality, including freshly brewed coffee . |Overall highly recommend

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in celebration of our silver wedding anniversary. Having considered many, many choices of hotels in Lisbon, selecting the Hotel Britania was a brilliant decision. When going to Lisbon, this hotel should be your No.1 choice.||What makes this hotel special are the exceptional staff. From Carolina and Migual at receiption with their welcoming, friendly and efficient manner to the front of house and housekeeping teams, many of whom have been there for years.||In particular, a large thank you to Carolina with her wonderful suggestions, directions and history that made our visit more fulfilling.||The Hotel Britania is a truly exceptional blend of elegance, history, and style. A hidden gem that’s been preserving the charm of the 1940s, this boutique hotel offers guests a luxurious, intimate experience that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. From the moment you step through the doors, you’re transported into a world where art deco opulence meets warm Portuguese hospitality.||Just a short walk from the vibrant Avenida da Liberdade (Lisbon's fifth Avenue equivalent), we had easy access to Lisbon’s best shopping, dining, and cultural landmarks.||Each room is a beautiful balance of classic design and modern amenities. From the plush bedding (the bed was massive !!) to the soft lighting and luxurious marble bathrooms your in comfort from the moment you walk in the door.||We will definetely return to the Hotel Britania Art Deco and I would highly recommed staying here.

We chose this hotel as we love the Art Deco style and it actually exceeded our expectations! The decor both in the public areas and in our room was excellent, from the original cork floor in the bedroom to the small barbers in the lobby. But what is not forgotten are the modern touches like USB chargers at the side of the bed. This hotel is definitely not a case of style over substance though as the staff, without exception, were very helpful and made it a pleasure to come back from a long day with a lovely welcome.|It is also in, for us, the perfect area, just a short walk into the main part of the city (uphill back unfortunately!) but very quiet. There is a metro station a couple of minutes away should it be needed and it isn't far from buses. Taxis are also aplenty and very reasonably priced.|I certainly hope we get the opportunity to stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
