Had heard about the place and wanted to experience and soak in the vibe… great place to visit, loved the shops esp. Rough Trade

Loved meeting the Indian/ Bengali community and eating a very nice curry while we were here. Definitely be going back again to try some more of their tasty food.

Good place good vibe still something is missing… perhaps more night life or I guess as they are may more choices than before people are in lower numbers than before. Still a hell of place to visit, drink eat and party!

Great variety of vintage clothing stores and modern eclectic artworks. Well worth a visit.

This place is confusing. All the furniture seems extremely worn in but other than a guy in here for the free wifi, I appear to be the only customer. My Cosmo came after a 21 minute wait, as an ex bartender I know it doesn't take that long... But he was on the phone the entire time. The shisha is electric so it doesn't produce the sort of cloud this dragon prefers but not a complete disappointment as this mango flavour is fantastic and for £12 in London its a bargain. I dare not order food - this man clearly shouldn't be working on his own. But he is friendly if a bit confused by a lone black girl wanting a Cosmo and some hookah at 4pm lol :-) With the Cosmo at £8 though, I won't be back. This isn't the west end so I loathe to see those sorts of prices for 1 (OK)cocktail. I was hoping to make a friend but it ain't bloody likely in here ... Wish me luck for the next place.

This was a huge let down. It took the server several minutes to approach our table. When he did, he took our orders. The music was awful. The margarita I was served was terrible. It tasted like water with margarita mix. When I complained to the bartender, he gave me an attitude. However the owner replaced my frozen margarita with a regular one, which was just as disgusting. The final straw was our hookah started flashing low battery (they have "electronic" hookahs. Glorified vapes). We ended up leaving after 30 minutes.

This place is all-charm in my book. From the first time I gratefully came across it when I was a mere international visitor to London - wandering down what felt like the terrifyingly dodgy Brick Lane... to now, when I live here and now "get" the grunge of the area - it's still a welcome sight. Yes, the staff is ultra ultra laid back... but I've never ever found them to be rude... Slow? Yes. Forgetful? Maybe. But oh-so-familiar and chill that I can't help but forgive them like I would a good friend... and isn't that really at the heart of what makes this place what it is? Heck, the staff even let my sister hold a photo shoot here when her initial venue fell through at the last minute and she found herself in a bind. Now *that's* uber-nice... not to mention just downright cool. The decor is dark and intimate... maybe shabby in places, but what on Brick Lane isn't? I've always been impressed by the food and drinks - especially considering the low prices. And the music and ambiance is something that I can *always* count on when I want to meet up with people for a quiet drink and chat that feels just a little out-of-the-ordinary.

Just the evening before, someone was explaining the appeal of Hookah smoking to me, so it was funny to end up with my girly friends in this laid back, quirky café. A Moroccan hideaway with battered furniture and tiny tables, Hookah Lounge specialises in tea and light bites. I loved the intimate vibe, but the food was fairly average. Their peppermint tea is incredibly sweet, not exactly refreshing and palate cleansing. Lots of people seem to come in and chill, but I wouldn't recommend you trying to linger with your laptop. One poor gent kept getting shuffled around, as clearly table turnover is their priority. At Hookah Lounge the service is at best vague, at worst outright rude and ignorant. When the waitress came to clear away the plates, my friend tried to order something else, but was completely blanked. So we left... destined to have dessert at Leon and not baklava at Hookah Lounge.

Laid back and far removed from the general chaos of Brick lane, the Hookah lounge is one of the best places for good mezze and dignified hookah smoking (although since the smoking ban this has had to be moved to the tables outside). Beautifully decorated, the interior has a distinct Moroccan feel with low, comfy sofas and round tables. As one of the most popular tea rooms in London, there's a different tea to cater for everyone's taste. Everything from Hibiscus, Afghani, peppermint, Chai, to Apple. The cardamom coffee is pretty good for a change from the norm and during the winter I love to go there to hide from the cold and warm up with mulled wine. My only gripe is the lack of soya milk but as I usually pop in for tea its not usually a requirement anyway. The service isn't always as fast as you'd like but they're friendly and often sit down for a chat. Not always a good idea when customers are waiting for their Chai but it makes for a welcoming vibe and certainly makes it harder to walk past without stopping for a tea (or cocktail!) on my way home.

Hookah Lounge is smack bang in the middle of the ever-trendy Brick Lane, in the heart of Shoreditch, serving a range of mezze, teas and hookah pipes. The hookah pipes are the drawcard obviously, with people almost always sitting outside smoking them. But on closer inspection, there's never usually people inside the Lounge, so clearly the hookah smoking is it's biggest asset perhaps? I lived across the lane from Hookah Lounge for a long time, and gave it many chances, but it always disappointed. The decor is OK, Moroccan-themed but slightly....barren, the food is pretty good, but it's the staff that lets the venue down. Now. maybe I've just been unlike the four or five (!) times I've been there, but the staff have been consistently rude and unhelpful. I hate to moan about staff in hospitality (heck, I was one for years and know the strains on the psyche it can cause!) but the attitudes at Hookah Lounge are very average. I won't be heading back.

If Hookah Lounge were open later and allowed hookah inside, I'd be here all the time. Cute (ethnic-y, aka my style) decor, a selection of teas (I had an apple one that sort of tasted like a melted Green Apple Jolly Rancher, for you Americanos out there) for those of you that prefer something hot, and of course a variety of competitively priced cocktails. One annoying thing is that since there is no smoking in bars, they don't let you smoke hookah inside the hookah lounge? Makes it a bit of a misnomer, but whatever. They have a bench on the street and let you do it there. Hang out, chill, repeat.

Strolling down Brick Lane on a Sunday afternoon is no longer a relaxing affair, and the choice of coffee shops seems to be dwindling. Very happy to find a table in this little place to warm up after a day's market shopping at nearby Columbia Road. The mint tea was just what we needed, and the snacks were lovely, too.

Hookah Lounge is a bit like much hyped but seemingly insular Leila's on Calvert Avenue, it looks interesting but there's something a teeny bit alienating about somewhere so small and invariably crowded. To walk on by though would be a shame, Hookah Lounge is a characterful little joint on Brick Lane serving coffees, mezze and cocktails in an interesting environment and unbeatable location. If I didn't seem to always go to Hookah with uber chilled out Europeans I might complain about the service which errs on the side of slack, being characterised by forgetfulness and the like. As I do however, I'll keep my mouth shut. Enjoy the chilled out atmosphere and try to turn a blind eye to the sometime indifference of the staff, Hookah Lounge is a cosy place to enjoy a good strong coffee on Brick Lane. A rare find indeed.

I used to absolutely love this loungin' space, a welcome break from Bangla City. Curry overkill is a condition endemic in the sprawling metropolis that is Bangla City. That is, until, I got food poisoned chomping on the Ottoman assortment of mezze and vine rolls. Although I've relegated that memory to the rumbling depths of my memory, the Hookah Lounge is very chilled, and excellent for a spot of quiet wifi con-TECH-plation!

This place has a great tea menu with loads of unusual teas which you can order either hot or as ice tea, and some interesting coffees (coffee with almond milk, anyone?). I've eaten there once and the veggie mousaka was really great. It is a fab place to go in the evening and on a nice day it is a great spot to chill with a cuppa of spiced tea and watch the trendy ghosts of Brick Lane stroll past.

A nice stop for a busy day of exploring. The tea selection is plenty and the food comes in fair portions. I loved the chill vibes at the hookah lounge and the open store allows you to feel the excitement of Brick Ln while being able to sit and relax.

Good selection of drinks, very funky place, nice ambiance (especially when they dim the lights) Kind of small so I felt a little smooshed but it wasn't too bad... oh, the nostalgia of this place.

Great, cheap and electric hookah - made me feel less guilty about smoking it! True bazaar decor and chilled vibes make it the best sunday chill spot.

One of the downsides of working in a bar or pub is that it becomes the norm not to pay for your drinks. Parting with my hard earnt cash in return for a glass which will all too quickly become bone dry pains me a little. One place that I will happily pay for is Hookah Lounge. Not only are the cocktails irresistible, but the lounge is cosy, unpretentious and relaxed. You might think that being so small and on Brick Lane it would get crowded quickly, but instead this just prevents too many people coming in. The Service is fast (almost too fast when you are trying to choose which cocktail to sample) and so authentic that it is difficult to believe that you are not in Morocco.

quite happy with this place. they usually do a special offer of a huge sharing platter for 9 pounds. convenient. you can try the ubiquitous middle eastern food, all in one dish. You would probably not finish it, but wirth a try. it comes with endless pitta bread, flat and warm, which adds up to the allure. hummus is beautiful, falafel, tabbouleh, all the classics, feature at its highest standards. decor is gorgeous and staff is helpful. worth a try if you are tired of yet another indian when around brick lane

It gets two stars because there are way better places close by. Beer and wine are overpriced and average when they arrive, the layout is cramped, the whole thing aims for shisha bohemian but ends up looking like it needs fumigating. I suppose it would be okay if you're already on a campaign, but otherwise allow it.

This is a small pleasant place in Brick Lane, with nice decor and a laid-back vibe, mixmatched seats and tables and dimly lit. They serve mezze - nice mediterranean finger food to share with friends while drinking some beer. And there's, of course, the hookah - don't tell anyone but, despite the smoking ban, you can still smoke it in there.

The worst service ever ! We ordered just a houmous and we waited 20minutes because the waiter forgot... He wasn't able to take care of his only 2 customers in the bar!!! Same problem, when we tried to order a sandwich. It was like a joke! The waiter never apologized. A BAR TO AVOID !

The service was absolutely a disaster, although we were pretty much the only 2 customers, we ordered and paid for food that never came because the guy "just forgot".... twice. And then he dared on asking if we paid for our stuff. Completely rude and absolutely not careful, the service makes what could be a pleasant place a very unpleasant one.
