This charming bistro blends stylish vibes with seasonal French-inspired dishes made from local ingredients, ensuring a delightful dining experience.
"Bread & Butterfly in Inman Park echoes Paris’ Latin Quarter with its chic blue and white bistro tables, a covered patio lined with hanging plants, and a ceiling artfully adorned in gold like they just won first place in the Fancy Ceiling Olympics. It’s a great set up for a date where you’re motivated to lean in close over excellent dishes, like the hearty ravioli joumou and savory rice and mushroom dish, Djon Djon. The original French breakfast and lunch menu stays familiar to B&B regulars, but dinner now features a fusion of flavors from Haiti (since the chef from the Heritage Supper Club pop-up took over the space in 2023). The French cafe atmosphere with the mostly Haitian dinner menu not only makes a slick mash-up, it makes Bread & Butterfly a place we'd want to spend our whole day. photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Andrew Thomas Lee photo credit: Amy Sinclair photo credit: Amy Sinclair Food Rundown Djon Djon This Haitian black mushroom dish incorporates herby epis with savory rice and the barest hint of sweet from english peas. This is the best thing on the menu. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Haitian Patty You get two huge patties. The pastry is buttery soft and stuffed to the brim with tasty seasoned beef. photo credit: Amy Sinclair Plantain Buns The rolls come out pillowy soft (two giant buns) with sweet cane syrup butter. Haitian Risotto This is similar to the Djon Djon but creamier. It’s good, though not as memorable as the latter. Ravioli Joumou A play on the traditional Haitian soup joumou, this pasta combines hazelnut, squash, and oxtail to create a hearty sweet-savory mix that's worth ordering." - Jacinta Howard
"Bread & Butterfly is a coffee shop known for its European charm, providing a cozy spot for a light meal in Atlanta." - Edward Barsamian
"A French brunch cafe with a Haitian dinner menu not only makes a slick mash-up, it makes Bread & Butterfly a place we'd want to spend our whole day. The cafe itself is strategically reminiscent of Paris bistro life, with blue and white rattan chairs and a covered patio lined with hanging plants. Breakfast and lunch feature solid standards like quiches and tartare, and the dinner menu has a blend of dishes with a focus on Haitian food (since the chef from the Heritage Supper Club pop-up took over the space in 2023). And nothing epitomizes this cool new direction better than the decadent golden brown Haitian beef patty, arriving like a fluffy spiced meat pillow on your plate. " - jacinta howard
"Bread & Butterfly, led by Jessica White, offers zero-proof spirits that are often more expensive than their alcoholic counterparts, reflecting the complexity and quality of ingredients used." - Laura Scholz
"Though specializing in French-inspired fare by day and African-influenced dishes at night, the Burger Americain at Bread & Butterfly shouldn’t be missed. With a thick 7-ounce American wagyu patty, gruyere, sweet caramelized onions, thick whole grain mustard, aioli, and a magically fluffy brioche bun, it’s a lovely example of what you get when you combine traditionally French ingredients with a definitive American classic." - Beth McKibben, Alex Leo-Guerra
