Boca Grande

Stopped in here for drinks before dinner nearby and it felt like they were doing me a favor serving my group from the hostess to the waitresses (in fairness the bartender was great). Just rude and stuck up for really no reason (my group was 2 male, 2 female in business attire, clearly able to afford the establishment). Really unfortunate as the ambiance is truly spectacular. With a week of dining out in BCN this was by far the worst experience and the only experience where I felt ostracized and willing to write such a negative review.

I’ve been coming to the spot for the past 8 years every time I visit Barcelona. In my opinion this is one of the best designed and decorated restaurant and cocktail bar that you will find around Europe, and probably in the world. It honestly deserves 5 stars just for its ambiance and vibe, so thoughtfully designed with amazing ornaments all over. Last night was the first time I actually have dinner there, and to be honest I was skeptical. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the food was of pretty high quality and matched the price point. The service was really good despite the sassy staff with the attitude at the entrance when I first walked in, but they seemed quiet overwhelmed with reservations and became friendlier later (not an excuse but we let it slide every now and again ;)). Cocktails were great as usual. Highly recommend if you are visiting.

Stunning, fancy atmosphere, it’s clear that a lot of attention has been put into the decor. However, the experience was disappointing due to the service. I had the vegetable rice, which was alright. The real issue was how rushed we felt. We weren’t even there for an hour before they started clearing the table and asking if we wanted the bill. They even took my plate while my friend was still eating, which I found rude. It felt like they just wanted to turn over tables as quickly as possible. You definitely pay for the atmosphere, but the service needs a serious upgrade.

What a place!!! The food was unbelievable!! Had the seafood paella, the special pasta of the day(one of the best pastas we’ve ever had) and the filet. All delicious!!! The spinach and cheese croquettes and the stuffed zucchini flowers were amazing!! Had the waiter choose the wine which was perfect! Can’t say enough about Boca Grande! Don’t forget to visit the restrooms, which become a club later in the evening.

This place was recommended by a friend of mine. The restaurant decor is beautiful and luxurious, the waiters and stuff were friendly and the food was delicious. We had an amazing experience but it’s very very pricey with small portions in my opinion. It’s a good place for perhaps a birthday celebration or anniversary but definitely not an everyday choice.

Excellent place if you can find a table. Great friendly service. A bit overselling their seafood, but was so worth it. Cozy romantic crowded. Their restroom is out of this world, almost worth a visit by itself.

Ruined my san valentine day. Was there today 15:00 to eat with my girlfriend for this special day. We ordered 4 oysters, 1 patata brava, 1 pimiento patron, 1 fish soup and 1 bottle of wine. 1h after the lunch we are bot in the hospital for food poisoning, the bad one, worste experience, I think the oysters was not fresh. I’m writing this review in my bed with 39fever sweating and with worsts cramp in my stomach. I’m so upset because I payd more than 250€ for this lunch… Bad experience! Don’t go there, there are many better restaurants. Thank you Boca grande to ruin Valentine’s Day to me and my girlfriend!!! Shame on you.
