Great atmosphere, found a place to sit 😎 place quickly filled up with a line out the door after I got my food. I ordered the Left Coast Pastrami priced @ $13.95. It was delicious. Steven said I probably would not like the secret sauce and he was absolutely right, I loved it. It had fantastic flavor, actually considering buying some sauce to go.. sandwich came with your choice of chips, a bowl of potato salad (good flavor 4/5), and a drink. I rate this place overall a 10/10. It was my first visit and this is subject to change but overall great, friendly, tasty experience!!! Thank you

Karla was the best worker there! She helped me with my order because I'm a very picky eater and she was very patient with me. She was very quick with the order on top of making sure everything was to perfection. Definitely coming back there only if she takes my order. She personally walked it over and restated the order to let me know how it was made and asked if it was to my liking. Such a sweet girl who I hope gets a raise soon!!

We did Board & Brew catering for a surprise engagement party and it was incredible! Everyone loved the food and the potato salad was absolutely delicious. The communication from the catering department was great and I appreciated all the help in picking out the right food for our guests! Just overall great experience. Highly recommend using them for your next event.

I've been coming here for a few years and definitely agree with another review that they have cut back on the portions. I remember talking with other locals about how it's a filling sandwich, but doesn't feel like the case anymore. Feels like now they're cutting the chicken in half for the chicken club. Secret sauce on the sandwich is great, but at the same time it did have a bit too much mayo. Overall a fine sandwich if you're REALLY craving one, but I personally won't be coming back here anymore.

Karla at Board & Brew is an absolute gem! I live in the area and frequent this location and every time I stop by, she brings such a warm, welcoming energy that instantly brightens the place. Not only is she incredibly friendly, but she’s also super attentive and always gets my order just right. You can tell she genuinely cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. The food is good, but her positive vibe makes grabbing a sandwich here even better. If you’re lucky enough to be served by Karla, you’re in for a treat! Board & Brew is lucky to have her!

Possibly bias because I’m a tourist here, but the tub of tuna sandwich is so delicious, such a great value, and super polite and efficient service.

The tub o tuna was arguably the best sandwich I've had in years! In comparison jersey mikes is flat and one dimensional while board and brew seems to transcend anyone's expectations of a simple tuna salad sandwich. If you like tuna you'll love their sandwich!

We stopped by on a road trip to grab a quick lunch in pacific beach. The parking was horrible, but once we found a spot the restaurant was not too crowded. We split two sandwiches - the turcado was the favorite, fresh sourdough bread and a large portion of turkey. They give you this sauce of the side that is incredible, can't wait to try more

OK, I don't know how to feel because places like this make me lessen my love for my hometown, Seattle. Every sandwich we ordered here was the most perfect sandwich I could ever imagine. About my tuna, I am so glad I ordered the pickles. You have to order the pickles with tuna! I guess if I was grasping at improvements, maybe spreading the tuna around would be better because it was kind of centered in the middle of the bread. Such nitpicky feedback, I shouldn't have even said that. The bread by the way is, I guess it's special to this place. It was so amazing and soft and flavorful and fresh and I wish I could make a bed out of this bread and crawl in and sleep for 100 years like sleeping beauty in it. OK, let's talk pastrami. The mix of flavors offered in this sandwich are shockingly amazing. Talk about a punch in the face of flavors. The bread that it comes with that has that harder shell on it or crust made me want to have more time so I could order one and go down to the beach and just nibble on it all day , as it would last that long, I would actually gobble it up. Along those lines, I could see how the wrap would be a great choice for bringing down to the beach. I tried the special sauce and it was very sweet and you know what I did with it? I dipped my potato chips in it. It kind of tasted like a very sweet barbecue sauce watered down. I'm not explaining it very well so I'm gonna stop. My daughter tells me that people Are addicted to the sauce and pour it all over their food. The sandwiches were so good to me the way they were. I did not want to add that flavor. This is all I've dreamed about in a sandwich place. With all the dining that we did in San Diego, his is the place I want to fly my son out to try this place and there's some Ramen place in Little Italy that was super good. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful and so San Diego it's almost like he was an actor. Great casting, great decor, great food thanks for the experience.

We ordered a turkado and a kid's grilled cheese for take out. It was ready at the estimated time. The turkado was delicious! The sourdough bread was fresh and soft. The sandwich had a lot of ingredients and the flavor was great! The kid's grilled cheese is a large portion and was on the same sourdough bread. We enjoyed the sandwiches! Board and Brew has a handful of different sandwiches to choose from. They also make their own beer, which I have yet to try. Board and Brew is a great option for sandwiches!

We make sure to stop at Board and Brew whenever we come back to San Diego. The orange sauce really is as good as they say it is. We've tried recreating it, but it just isn't the same at home. The sandwiches can totally stand on their own but highly recommend getting extra sauce. We love getting sandwiches to go for the beach, and we've enjoyed the PB location's outdoor seating. Our regular orders are the Turkado and Veggie Sandwich.

The size of these jalapeño slices was diabolical. In general, this wrap was so haphazardly assembled, it immediately fell apart and every bite had humongous pieces of jalapeño and onion. :(

Board and Brew is one of my favorite sandwich chains here in San Diego. Their sandwiches are healthy, filling, fresh, and simple! If you're in PB and looking for a bite before heading to the beach then I highly recommend coming here. You can also grab it to-go and watch the waves while enjoying a delicious sandwich. Can't imagine a better vibe than that! The service is also super friendly here as well. My go-to is the Turkado sandwich and their special sauce is to die for.

Who doesn't love a delicious sandwich after a morning walking the beach? This sandwich place was clean, efficient, and tasty. After a walk on the beach in the morning we decided to check out this sandwich place. They had just opened for service when we got there and they were able to whip up these scrumptious sandwich. They had a house sauce that added a little sweetness to the sandwich. Can't wait to go back to try some other sandwiches!

This was my first time at Board & Brew and I loved it! I got the California Delight and was very happy with it because I never thought to put turkey and cream cheese together, but it was SO good! I was very confused because I thought there would be craft beer here but I guess they do not serve beer at this location. The food came out pretty fast and the servers were pleasant! Definitely a cute place to hit up while visiting Pacific Beach.

The location is extremely nice, as it's right by the Pacific Beach Pier. The food came out quick as well. The sandwhich itself was okay. The bread to toppings ratio was off. The bread was super thick and took away the flavors from the rest of the sandwhich.

Just ordered food from here and received terrible customer service. Treated others nice and treated me like crap. It is clear I am not welcomed here. Gave a tip and everything. Never again.

Great spot for after a long walk on the boardwalk. This place is always packed and for good reasons. The food and service is always on point. The sandwiches are massive, you never leave here hungry. I got the turkey deluxe on squaw bread. Definitely a great sandwich spot. Try it out you won't be disappointed.

AMAZING sandwiches! My favorite is turkado. They taste so fresh and are a great portion size. Parking lot is nearby. They also offer catering boxes that are very affordable! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Some tables inside but recommend eating them on the beach!

Pretty good if very basic sandwich joint. Don't expect too many frills...or extensive flavors. Do expect, a very quick sandwich order. Very nice employees and an amazing location about 1/2 block from the beach. Don't spend any time in the store, grab your order to go and walk to the beach. Trust me. Why wouldnt you? The Italian sub is where it at. Go for it.

Yes, yes and yes! I love board and brew! This is my favorite sandwich shop and my go to place when I want to treat myself. The sandwiches are all so good and the dipping sauce is an added treat. The turkado is my favorite. It's one of those sandwich places that have large portions but it's so good that you finish it anyway. Highly recommend. Also, a tip! Order online and pick it up to avoid crowds. Such a good time saver for a quick grab and go. They are quick to make them.

Always love board and brew for any sandwich and especially the Cobb salad with spicy ranch Perfect meal for a day at the beach!!

La Jolla Board & Brew is by far superior. The turkado (avocado!!!) sandwich literally had no avocado but the tiniest layer of guac (if you want to call it that) spread on.. see picture below. Was extremely disappointing

The veggie sandwich is sooo amazing. Absolutely love the freshness of the veggies and the bread is so soft. The cheese tastes like its quality not the cheap stuff. The sandwich is stuffed with veggies and guacamole. I highly recommend. Love the window seating. The service was great. They were very friendly and helpful as my daughter ordered a plain turkey sandwich.

Is this location even open anymore? Every time I check to order pick up it says they are not accepting orders. Went in person last night at 7pm and they were closed when advertised hours were 9pm. Tried calling today during business hours and no response.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Perfect lunch for a day on the beach! My go-to is the Veggie Supreme w/ extra mustard (sometimes w/ turkey). Also, I really appreciate the option to order online!

Amazing sandwiches! Great vegetarian options for sandwiches, wraps and salads. The portions are HUGE also, perfect to take for an all day trip to the beach. Conveniently located in PB, I highly recommend to stop here when craving a fresh sandwich for your next summer day. They also are on door dash- options to make adjustments or remove items from sandwiches available and they made our sandwiches perfectly! Great service, food and all around sandwich shop!

I love B&B, I've been to the PB location before and had a great experience. So I stopped here before heading to the beach on my day off, but I think the woman who took my order is new. She's nice but asked me to repeat my order 2X, which I'm glad she did to try and get it right. BUT, I'm vegetarian and asked for the veggie supreme on sourdough, instead I got it on a baguette with salami added...I never asked for meat. I don't mind it was on a different bread, but I'm confused how my order had meat on it when I never mentioned meat.

We love Board and Brew in general but this day, the quality was just a little off. We will be back though. Cashiers were super helpful and polite. the atmosphere was typical of being near a beach. Busy, and humid.

At my FAVORITE sandwich shop with the best sauce I've had in my life and the best food fix with the perfect options. Nothing needed. I've missed this place so much. Grub down in SD. It's been 6-7 years since I've been in San Diego or PB and this is my first food stop for a reason! Right by the beach and so good. The kind woman behind the counter gave me a full bottle of sauce after I briefly mentioned it had been so long since I'd come back and this was the food and sauce that I craved. Still the best amazing and kind staff you could imagine. #californiadelight with cheddar added and special sauce... fire

Love board and brew but this location is not it. Ordered ahead on their app and both sandwiches were wrong. Such a bummer when you get home and can't do much about it. Staff not the nicest, cashiers with some attitude. Doesn't feel great as a customer. I've only ever experienced that at this location with the younger staff. Other locations 5 stars out of 5 :)

We had sandwiches from this spot several times during our week-long stay in Pacific Beach. Ordering is very convenient and easy to use on their website and all our food was ready when promised. Sandwiches are very good, but the bread was the star here and was perfectly soft and fresh. All sorts of menu options but I had the Tom's Choice, which came with roast beef, turkey, lettuce, tomato, onion with a special sauce. Great place for on the go lunch or the beach. Very reasonable prices for the heart of PB.

The Baja Wrap is one damn good sandwich!!!!!! My kid devoured the Grilled Cheese with reckless abandon! Two big thumbs up!

Oh no fail.... A Board and Brew without the Brew.... essentially the PB B&B is just a Board. We love Board and Brew and have been to numerous locations around San Diego and a good brew with a great sandwich is a must. We ended up walking out and going to the Hideaway across the street.

10/10 customer service. Everytime i go karla is always nice and making sure my experience at board and brew is at its best so shoutout to karla. the food quality is amazing. definitely recommend.

Place is good but how do you guys not serve "Brew". Pretty let down by it being in that area and no beer was served.

Love getting the California club and the veggie sandwich as well. The sauce can sometimes be bland but overall it's a good sandwich packed with meat cheese and lettuce. Very fresh and delicious, the perfect beach picnic meal to sit back and enjoy the views with. Service is always fast, sometimes they'll give you an extra sauce for free!

Quick, easy place to get a nice sandwich. My husband and I split the Italian sub and it was more than enough for both of us. It would have been too much for either of us. Enjoyed are lunch very much.

Just okay. Came highly recommended by a local skate shop vendor, so we were excited to try it, but were underwhelmed. Found the flavors to be bland/lacking and the Baja wrap hurt my stomach. They have a nice, tangy orange sauce but that's the highlight of it. Decor is cool with a ton of skateboards on the walls. Staff are nice, patient, and fast.

To die for sandwhiches, I like them hot, fresh and w sauce and this place does it all. Pretty similar to Cheba hut I'd say. But I am a slut for a good sub and this one hit the spot! I got the left coast, swap mustard for Mayo, eat it by the beach. And you have got yourself a master piece baby.

My husband and I stopped here for a quick bite after traveling all day. We ordered at the counter, got our drinks, and only sat for a minute before our food came out. Super quick!! We both had the Baja chicken - I got the wrap and he got the sandwich. The sauce they gave us on the side was really good! I enjoyed my wrap but it fell apart pretty quickly so I ended up eating the rest of it with a fork. The amount of people coming in from the beach showed me it was a good stop to go to after being outside all day. Great spot!

Turkey Deluxe was delicious! This location does not have brews from what we saw. Orders came out very quickly and the location was great right next to the boardwalk. Plenty of seating.

I give my sandwich a 7/10. It was really good but nothing special! I ordered to go so I wasn't too sure about the ambiance inside but I'll probably go back even if it's not my first choice. I forgot which once I ordered but they're all very generic.

I was finally able to try this San Diego classic and was not disappointed to say the least the sandwich I had from here was everything! I ordered the Tom's Choice sandwich which has roast beef and Turkey breast. It was so flavorful and not too heavy! The sauce that comes with the sandwiches is so yummy too. I love the location of this place, it's right next to Baked Bear and it wasn't too busy when I went! 10/10 recommend.

**TOURIST BAE-CATION REVIEW** Just landed in SD so needed some fuel to begin our walk down the strip. Ordered the roast beef sandwich and I wasn't impressed just a stomach filler. Suggesting the sandwich's over this sub. HAPPY EATS!!!

Great sandwiches, sauce is off the charts, but can't say you can expect anything from the service beyond ordering and making sandwiches. I got drink after a long day at the beach, hoping for a refreshing soda. After trying the root beer and clear liquid was coming out I politely let the staff know their root beer was out of syrup and got a sarcastic look and "oh no" from the cashier. I joked back saying "hey man it happens" shrugged and proceeded to fill up my cup with different choice. The sprite was also flavorless, I didn't want to bug the staff again so I patiently waited for him to refill the root beer. Instead I watched the cashier restock the chips (that weren't empty) at a sloth like pace. This went on for the entirety of my stay there eating my sandwich. Pretty annoyed that I paid $3 for a drink and couldn't enjoy any soda that I liked. Not sure if the man with half up half down hair-do just woke on the wrong side of the bed or didn't know how to refill the soda syrups but dude needs some more training. Will probably be coming back for the sandwiches but I recommend testing the drinks out before ordering or prepare for disappointment.

Great sandwich, especially for the price! Very large with fresh ingredients. Food was ready quickly, despite the massive crowd attempting to order. Oh and definitely don't skimp on the secret sauce, it is a game changer!!!Will definitely be back :)

Board & Brew closes at 9pm but we (2 adults, 1 toddler) were turned away at 8:25pm on 9/10/23 due to the store "being closed." We literally just wanted to get the food to go so we could eat at the AirBnB. Despite the negative reviews, we decided to give this place a try and it definitely disappointed. After we cracked open the the door to walk in, the girl behind the counter was sitting and doing nothing when she told us they were closed. Closed at 8:25? The website and Apple Maps both says store closes at 9:00pm. As a yearly visitor to PB, I don't think I will come back again. Definitely going to give Sammy's by the Sand a try this week.

Unfortunately they have no vegan options :/ it would be great to have some more options for people with allergies and dietary restrictions.

Love this place and always ordering from here. Unfortunately placed an online order the other day for two sandwiches on a spinach wrap. One was correct the other one was on regular bread. I had to give it to my boyfriend :( will think about coming here again.
