4.5/5 stars. Blue Water Serves it up fresh. You choose how you want your fish prepared and in what kind of format— sandwich, taco, or plate. We choose the tacos. Serving sizes are generous. Add some fried calamari or clam chowder for a nice extra. This time we enjoyed halibut, yellow fin, and grouper. It’s hard to go wrong.

This place came highly recommended and it was delicious. The portions were great and yes it was pricey but it felt mouth watering fresh. I loved the scallops taco, and the salmon burger was good after a bit of ketchup for me. And I am not a fish person. The staff was nice and patiently went through our items to make sure no beer or wine is used to make it. They also gave to go boxes. They have nice outdoor seating in the side that was perfect and a high chair for my toddler who ate the fish and chips happily.

Visited Blue Water for the first time and was not disappointed! Went during and off time based on other reviews (1:30pm). It was still busy with a short line, but not crazy. Dining inside and outside. We got a nice table inside. Counter service, and very pleasant! The food - SO fresh and wonderful! We paid $65 for a tap beer, can of soda, huge Alaska Red Crab sandwich, Shrimp Nachos, and onion rings to share (sandwiches do not come with fries or onion rings). Price included tip. We thought it was well worth the money and the nachos could easily be split between two as a meal (the sandwich too actually). It was a lot of food with leftovers. Pleasant inside with lots of photos of people catching fish! Street meter parking - easy when we went but could be a challenge. Parking was $2.50 for 2 hours. We’ve eaten at El Indio next door many times, and I’m pretty sure that the chips on the Blue Water nachos are the El Indio chips - very tasty and hold up to the nacho toppings because the chips are a little thicker. There’s a lot of fresh fish/shrimp for sale inside as well, and you can order to go. We’ll definitely return!

Blue Water Seafood is one of my favorite places to eat, not sure to the atmosphere or service, but because their seafood is just great! My favorite is the Scallops with garlic butter. Oh my, how it melts in my mouth and tastes so good. Their seafood has always tasted very fresh to me as well. Even the clam chowder is a hit! It's an "order at the counter" and "find your own seat" type of place so the atmosphere and service are minimal catering to that style. I usually find a 10-20 min line to get to the order counter so it's a bit crowded entering the restaurant. It's worth the wait though, so I keep coming back. If you want to buy fresh seafood to prepare at home, they have that option as well with a great selection. Prices are on the medium to high end but worth it to me with the quality and taste I get.

I had one of the most delicious and freshest grilled swordfish I’ve ever tasted. I was specifically looking for wild-caught fish, and this place delivered! A fabulous lady kindly took my order with a courteous smile, just a couple of minutes before closing time. You can’t go wrong with this place!

If you’re in San Diego, this is hands down the best seafood spot to try. The blackened mahi fish sandwich on sourdough is delicate, flavorful, and incredibly fresh, with just the right balance of spices. The calamari, paired with their homemade tartar sauce, is perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor. For a light, summery appetizer, the ahi poke nachos are an absolute must – fresh, vibrant, and refreshing. Their virgin prickly pear mojito is refreshing and unique, while the beer-battered fish and chips are crisp and delicious. It’s become a family tradition to come here for lunch every time we’re in San Diego. This place is a true hidden gem.

I was craving fish tacos and found Blue Water! We arrived on Monday at 11am, and it wasn't too busy (just yet). We had to stand in line to order our food first. The atmosphere was so welcoming, and had a lot of fisherman photos with their big catches! I ordered the Track Taco, Scallop Taco, and fish Taco (snapper). The tacos ranged from $8-9. We also got the calamari for appetizer, which was very crunchy and delicious. My niece had the chicken strips and fries off the kids menu. Our order took about 30 minutes to get, other than that the food was fresh and amazing! There is no parking in front, but a lot of side street and metered parking on Winder Street. Happy Eats ✌️

First time here. Was told It has great food. They were right. The wide and I loved it. The fish was so fresh, and the taste was amazing. My mouth is watering just writing this review. The tacos are huge. I will definitely be returning. There is so much to try.
