DO NOT ORDER FROM BLACK ROOSTER operating in Leslieville and The Well. We ordered a light fixture that required shipping from the US. The item had to be paid in advance and delivery was promised within 3 weeks. After 3 months of chasing the owner, Nina, for a delivery timeline we asked for a refund. It took a further three weeks to process a cancellation, yet Nina allegedly failed to process the refund through their pay system. In the interim we filed a dispute with Visa as we didn’t trust the retailer would come through with the refund. Turns out we were correct. Visa provided us a refund, but Nina was disputing the refund as she claims we picked up the light fixture when we initially paid for it, which was a complete lie. Many other customers have similar experiences. We would give them no stars if we could.

DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE. Ordered a light from them an the suggestion of my designers. It's been 5 months now and I still do not have this light fixture despite Nina Black (the owner) assuring me that it's arrived and awaiting tracking information on 3 different occasions. She then admitted that it was back ordered and would arrive in November. November came and went. Finally she says they've received it and are awaiting on tracking info.... this was only after I again asked about the light... No proactive correspondence, but more importantly NO LIGHT.

This store is a joke. Says they have stock, willfully takes your money and doesn't deliver on paid products. You have to physically reach out 15x to get a response only for her to tell you that it was never in stock and that she has to order it for you. So why would I not order it from the actual website? She gives shopping local a bad name. OH and tells you 14 days before Christmas. Thanks for ruining Christmas! Simply the best! RE: Your Response. You're advertising for products that you don't have point blank nor have a secure source to attain in the first place. If you look at the rest of your reviews, i'm not alone in that thought. With no respect, you are a crook and your business a sham and i will make sure people are aware of this.

Do NOT shop there at all cost! The owner Nina will willfully lie to you about delivery times knowing perfectly you will never get your furniture. Making up stories about cargo coming to Vancouver changing dates every 3 weeks. When the cargo finally made it to Vancouver, we were told that it was on the way but then, turn of events, the cargo only had 30 pieces instead of 100. Keep in mind that this story came up after she told me our furniture was on the way from Vancouver to us already. We were far less patient than some other customers that waited a year. After 3 months we decided to cancel. Had to follow up twice to get a refund, which we did. But this is a very dishonest company ran by a woman operating a shady business. Whatever she responds to this comment, don’t believe it. She will lie to take your money but she knows perfectly delivery times won’t be met and consider yourself lucky if you ever see their furniture in your place. A disgrace. Unsure how they are still in business.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE. Hundreds of customer have not received their orders or a refund. Nina, the owner, hardly ever replies. I have been waiting for my $2500+ order to arrive for over 6 months and I am not the only one. Many have filed credit card disputes and have reported to the BBB.

UPDATED December 26: Nina, the owner of Black Rooster Decor, has returned my money. Thank you! I warn anyone here to be extremely cautious about ordering from black rooster decor. This is some the worst customer service I have ever endured from a business. I ordered a dining table online last year, and it took 9 months for it to be delivered - I joke and say it was a difficult birth. I ordered it back in September 2022 and watched thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter roll by, with no dining table and family gathering to celebrate at our new home, with little to no communication from the store owner, Nina. 😫 And now, more than 1 year later, I still haven’t received my artworks that I ordered online. Emails, phone calls, text messages…. Even carrier pigeons don’t make a difference. Not worth being frustrated and ignored, even if the products are beautiful!

****STAY AWAY - FRAUD*** I had purchased 2 furniture pieces online. Waited over 7months for delivery, never arrived. Sent many emails requesting updates. Only until my designer had to threaten legal action only then Nina, owner, replied. She gave a false expectation of when my order would arrive giving an excuse that it was still being shipped to California. Waited another 6 weeks with no response from Nina requesting my refund which she ignored. I had to file a fraud claim with my credit card to get reimbursed. The entire process took close to 9 months. DO NOT ORDER/PURCHASE FROM THIS STORE. It is so clear that there is suspicious activity with this store. Shopper beware is all I can say
