Black Pearl

I recently stayed at Black Pearl Apartments, and it was pure luxury from start to finish. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring every aspect of my stay was perfect. One unique and delightful touch was the daily Yule Lads scrolls—a charming Christmas story left each night, adding a festive and cozy atmosphere to my stay. Additionally, I was touched by the thoughtful birthday present they left in my room, which made me feel truly special. Black Pearl Apartments exceeded all my expectations, and I can’t recommend them highly enough!

We rented the largest unit in The Black Pearl, a fifth-floor "penthouse" for a group of six adults. The unit provided everything we needed. It was spacious, well-designed and well-furnished. It includes a living room, dining area, full well-stocked kitchen, three bedrooms (two with king-sized beds and one with two twin beds) and two bathrooms. It also has a large wrap-around balcony facing east and south. It is served by a private elevator that requires a fob for use. The bedrooms were quiet at night. There was ample storage space for clothing.||Everything in this unit is completely up-to-date. Bath and bed linens are of high quality. The bathrooms were well stocked with toiletries. The kitchen was also fully stocked with everything needed to prepare and serve full meals.||Each bedroom has a large TV, and there is an even larger one in the living room. All were easy to use. The free wifi was easy to access and always reliable. Controls for lighting and heating were a bit complicated, but once we mastered them they worked well.||The Black Pearl is in an excellent location. Many restaurants, shops and tourist attractions were just a short walk away. This included some relatively large "convenience markets" for food shopping, which served us well for breakfast food and snacks. A stop for the local transit system was also nearby. No need to have your own car!||The hotel staff members are extremely courteous and skilled at helping to solve challenges. The housekeeping service was excellent.||The Black Pearl is expensive, but then everything in Reykjavik is expensive. It's a great place to stay for that "special trip." Ours was a family celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary. When we return to Reykjavik, this will be the first hotel we consider for booking.

5 stars all around - location cannot be beaten and the staff and cleaning service are impeccable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Only suggestion would be to improve the labeling of all the "smart" light switches as it took us nearly 4 days to figure them out.

This was the perfect place for our girls trip. The rooms were extremely clean and modern with daily housekeeping and luxury tolietries and nespresso machine. We were able to use the penthouse that had room for 5 ladies which helped promote community and fun on the trip. The staff was friendly and accommodating and phoned us by request in the middle of the night for the Northern Lights! The location was perfect with very easy walking access to delicious food and drinks and a great view of Reykjavik from the balcony. I highly recommend Black Pearl! I can't wait to come back and stay here again.

We loved our stay here! We had everything we needed and used several of the amenities to cook meals which I loved being able to do! It was cozy and comfortable and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and we loved having a garage to park our rental. The location was easy to get to and was close enough to walk to several sights including the old harbor, Hallgrimskirka, The rainbow road, fun shops , great food, The Harpa, and the list goes on. They left us gifts from the Yulelads which was so charming and they even left me some chocolates and a lovely note since I was celebrating my birthday there. A wonderful and appreciated surprise that just added to the our whole stay! Will plan to stay again next time we visit!

Location, facilities, and service are all generally good. Would recommend it to other travelers. The specific room we stayed at had a few things broken: (a) lights under the kitchen cabinet; (b) soap holder of the dishwasher; (c) stove stopped to work after being used for 30 mins (looked like some gas supply issue).

Location fantastic. Apartment superb apart from some wear & tear that should be addressed with it being a 5*. Arrived early after a night flight and was asked to pay €250 for an early check in which we considered excessive and mean spirited, when all we wanted to do was sleep and with the room being ready. Didn’t sit well with us! Other than that, it was very good.

Wonderful place to stay. Room was large and had a great balcony and all the kitchen amenities that you need. Staff was very polite and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit!
