Bite San Diego on Postcard

"Food tour San Diego Bite San Diego offers a three hour food tour around downtown and the Little Italy neighborhood of San Diego. We started at a Indian restaurant and ended at a place in Little Italy where we finished the tour with a piece of desert pizza made with Italian nutella. Along the way, we visited the famous Karl Strauss brewery and go to sample some beer as well as take a tour of the brewery. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept us interested with historical tidbits about the surrounding area. We also learned about the history of each restaurant we visited. What I really enjoyed was that we sat at each place for at least 30-45 minutes and got a feel for each locale as well as the food they served. Food tours are a great way to learn about a new city and experience the food culture. San Diego Bites offers tours in several San Diego neighborhoods including North Park, La Jolla, Hillcrest and Old Town. Some other places they offer tours are Coronado Island, Julian and Encinitas."

March 7, 2016: Went to North Park Bite San Diego tour with family. Hank was our guide and he was great! Very warm, personable, attentive and helpful plus he knew interesting facts about the town. You could tell he liked North Park and enjoyed what he did. The amount of food and variety was just right and we did not feel overstuffed. We would definitely go for another Bite tour again!

My husband and I visited San Diego this past weekend and decided to do a culinary tour. Did I ever pick the right company and tour!!!! Eddie was our guide and he was amazing. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the city but he had a laid back attitude that made EVERYONE feel comfortable and at ease. You were not intimidated to ask questions - it was like we knew him forever. The restaurants we visited we so good. Everything we ate was delicious. Make sure you order the Shrub Flights at Zymology 21 - Have your phones ready to take a picture or video!! Since this was my husband's first culinary tour I was a little worried he would not like taking these tours (I always have done them with my girlfriends in the past). He loved it -- The restaurants, the history of the city, and Eddie. Thank you Bite San Diego.

My wife booked this tour for me in April, before the US/Canada travel lockdown occurred. Once we were forced to cancel our trip (we live in Canada), we tried multiple times to reach out to the company if they would offer a refund (due to our extenuating circumstances). Bite didn’t bother responding and wouldn’t return our calls. They just sent us a “Thanks for attending” email after the fact and happily took our money. Maybe they offer a great service normally, but they score 1 out of 5 for integrity and communication.

I won tickets for the North Park tour with Bite San Diego and after the day was done I gladly would have paid for them. It was a great time, we went to six different locations sampling everything from pizza to chili and chicken wings to cheese. Two of the locations I had been to before and had liked so it was nice to try different items on the menu and several of the other locations we stopped by were new to me but I will most definitely be back to. John couldn't have been a better guide, he was fun and kept us entertained and all of his information about the area was really interesting. Everyone at each stop was great as well. I'm even looking into doing another tour with a group of friends for a girls day out.

My husband and I booked this tour as part of our honeymoon, and it was fabulous! There was the perfect mixture of food and history of the city. Hank was great in making everyone feel welcome; the small size of the group made it feel like you weren't stuck on a tour with a bunch of strangers. Would definitely do again!

Taylor did a great job as our guide at Liberty Station. She was informative and funny and made the tour very enjoyable. The places we stopped at had great food and the tour definitely included enough food for a good meal. Highly recommend Bite San Diego!

Not sure what's going on with Bite San Diego, but they appear not to be operating, most likely due to Covid. However, they will gladly sell you a gift certificate that you are unable to use, or get a refund for. No answer when you call and no response.

The boyfriend and I got free tickets for Bite's North Park tour. Who would turn that down? No one especially because our tour was in the North Park area which have yet to fully experience. This tour is not only eating and drinking, but is very informational. Not only of what's in, the arts, but also history. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and you could tell from his delivery that he quite loves the place. Makes the tour even better, thanks John! The tour took us through many different spots like venissimo cheese, splash wine bar, crazee burger, berkley pizza, a coffee place, and a bar. We basically went to too many places for me to keep track of. At each spot we got a sample and yes it was small but was more than enough especially going through a number of places. Great for visitors, a date, or if locals want to experience what's in their surrounding neighborhoods.
