Tony met with a group of women chefs to eat at this restaurant, including Bruna Martins, who owns the restaurant. Bruna only hires women to work there. They had "turkey neck, braised with butter and garlic, served with white beans, topped with kale and pork belly... ox hump pot-roast, served with mashed potatoes and farofa." While there, they had a scare when a drunk man in a stolen car was seen with a gun. The cameraman and producer dove on top of Tony to protect him, to which he said, "you know, you're NOT the secret service!"

There was an incredible piano player playing and it was a great ambience for a rainy day in BH. The mushroom appetizer had a great texture. The chicken would be perfect for someone who is looking for a heavy and sweet meal. The rice, chicken, and edible flowers, is ideal for someone looking for a salty dish and a heavy broth.

A modern take on traditional local dishes and ingredients. This is mineira food at its very best. Place is lively, popular with the college crowd, and exquisitely decorated. The kitchen is run by women. Definitely one of my favourites in my home town, Belo Horizonte.

Sensational restaurant with great choices of flavorful food for starters and entrés. The wine menu could be bigger.

Charming, authentic and colorful. We sampled three different cocktails. All were very flavorful, balanced and showcase the base spirit very well. The food was bold and rich and extremely delicious. The kitchen from what I heard is run by women only. When we went there the place was busy in a lively way. We tried the gazpacho as an appetizer, and it was pretty unique and interesting. The service was attentive, fast, and on point. We had a lot of questions and the staff were very patient with us. The food from what I understand is a modern take on traditional Brazilian dishes. It's probably the best restaurant in Belo Horizonte.

We were looking forward visiting Birosca S2. We come here every time we come home to Brazil to visit our family. But this time it was just okay!!!! Instead of the over the top food and service we come to expect. The wait time between courses was really long!!!!! Like 20 to 30 minutes between courses. We had planned to bring our 93 year old Mother, because she loved the place. But I don't think it would be a great idea to put her through the long wait time. I really hope that they improve the wait time going forward. Because I really like the the restaurant on our previous visits and really wanted to try it after seeing the restaurant on American tv

Service was good, the place looks fantastic and is decorated well. The evening however didn't start in the best possible way, when the cocktail I ordered didn't come with pear slices as was advertised in the menu. A minor problem, which didn't affect the entire experience but something to be noted. However my wife and I were disappointed with the food combinations, she had breadcrumbed tilapia which for some reason was combined with farofa - this resulted in a very dry dish. The fish was also overcooked which didn't help. I had pork, with fried pamonha (Sweet corn cake) and a coleslaw salad. The pork was great with the coleslaw but the pamonha felt out of place and not combining with the rest of the dish. The wine menu is great, with a lovely selection of world and Brazilian wines. All in all, for what we paid we were a little disappointed.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in BH. It's located in one of the most traditional neighborhoods of the city and is run in a cute old house. Everything there reminds you of a grandma's house, from the mismatching old fashioned plates and silverware to the friendliness of the staff. The food is awesome. They clearly put a lot of thought into their dishes and overall atmosphere. The menu is changed every season, making sure that the ingredients are fresh and chosen in a sustainable way.
