Bire winery

If you are looking for a winery! This is the spot! Absolutely stunning architecture. Very clean. Both inside and outside seating. The wine tasting is very good with the snack plate.

Bire Winery, in Lumbarda, is a family owned winery. One son was presenting/serving the tastings, outside on the terraces, another son working inside in the bar area, and some of the items on the available tasty snack plate were homemade by their mom. Be sure to get the snack plate. I was on foot, coming from the water taxi between Korčula, and had limited time, so unfortunately could only go to one winery in the area. I was very glad I went to Bire. I enjoyed the whole experience, and ending up buying a bottle of all three of the wines 🍷 I tasted (Rose, Grk & Plavac), which were reasonably priced. Do note they only take cash. I was a few € short, after digging through my pockets & wallet, and they graciously said “no problem, don’t worry about it.” ❤️🇭🇷

We visited the Bire Winery while staying in Lumbarda. Luckily our accommodation was about 10 mins stroll away. The family run winery was excellent. We had a selection of the 2 & 3 wine tasting with a tasty selection of snacks. We enjoyed these on the shady terrace, a very enjoyable afternoon visit.

World class quality wines. Settings are really calming. Simply a must visit winery in Lumbarda.

Fun 90 kuna deal for 4 different wines; rosé, white, red and dessert all dry except the last one which was half sweet. Definitely a worthwhile visit! The wines were nice but all of them were rather tame (had the same style). They did give a nice little explanation and answered our questions about the wines. They seem to be into their craft. The scenery (a little garden) is very beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxed.

The Grk wine is quite unique and taste good. The owner was friendly and you can taste 4 kinds of wine at least for an wonderful experience in Korčula!

We walked from Korcula Town to try some of the wineries. We decided to stop here first. They had a tasting of 4 wines plus some snacks for 90 kuna (rose, Grk, red and dessert red). All of the wines were very good. The winery is beautiful and we bought a bottle to bring home. Prices at the winery are about 1/3 of what you will find at any of the stores in town, highly recommend you go! Note it is cash only so make sure you bring enough to buy a bottle or two!

We biked there from the Old Town which I don't recommend if you are an amateur since it gets hilly. I was naively expecting to see a vineyard but we were later told that it is actually towards the beach. We ended up having a wine tasting. Unfortunately, they didn't accept cards which was unfortunate since we were running low on kunas. They did accept euros though and we paid 30€ for two people. The wine tasting included four small portions of different wines (rose, sparkling rose, white and red) which all tasted amazing and a small platter which was okay. The explanation of each wine wasn't great but still had an overall good experience. I would recommend.
