It's literally in the middle of town; an easily accessible area to get great tasting meals with a veriey of options which are freshly prepared at very reasonable prices!! ( If you want a meal you would have to get there before 2 or call, if not everything with have time sell out )

A yard with a multiplicity of amenities. Very rustic, and not well kept. But you'll get an arcade, a rumshop, washrooms and a few seats. Plenty. Potential, but for the time being, it feels like a trap.

Delicious St. Lucian food and drink! The waitress offered us a sampling of sides to go with the protein of our choice, so we got to taste a lot of different foods. The local juices were amazing. Giant portions, but we finished them anyway because it was so tasty.

Chicken and pork plate was fantastic. Garlic sauce was the best part.

My boyfriend and I were pleasantly surprised when we were introduced to this place by a local. We ordered the St Lucian special on our first night there and we were starving after traveling all day- We got a huge plate full of salad, mashed potatoes, rice, plantains, carrots and other veggies and fish. The BEST part was the garlic vinaigrette (probably intended for your salad but it was so good we put it on everything). Make sure you ask for the vinaigrette, you’ll be happy you did. The owners were super friendly and the vibe was great. They have island vibe music videos playing and they might even sing along sometimes! The portions are hefty and the price is great. ~$52 US for two drinks and two huge plates of food. Highly recommend! *we were technically at The Hookup but were told they are the same place as The Big Yard

Ordered three, grilled fish meals, a beef burger and an order of fries, by the end of our meal every plate was clean. The customer service was amazing and the staff were warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place.

Very friendly reception from bar staff and helpful getting on Wi-fi etc. Food was ok, about what you’d expect from a casual bar in the middle of Soufriere But the shock comes when the bill arrives!! Definitely the most expensive Chicken & Fries we have ever had in the Caribbean. I can get it less expensive in Central London!! And there is no way that guys at the bar were paying8EC for a Piton, as we were asked to! Barmaid insisted that was the normal price … despite rather hilariously pleading that she had paid 30EC for a burger in Rodney Bay … erm, that’s 50% less than she wanted for our mains! Similar lunch further up coast previous day was less than half what they charged us. It’s not the money that matters, just the fact that they are clearly taking advantage. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth. We don’t want to be constantly thinking locals are taking advantage. We are more than happy to pay the going rate, and maybe even a little more, in the hope that local people benefit from tourist activity. Is it really necessary to double check prices when ordering from this kind of place? Just makes us feel we don’t trust anyone … which makes no one happy! So tourists beware, if you frequent the Big Yard, ask about the prices first. Or you could receive a Big Surprise when the bill arrives. Or maybe just avoid and go elsewhere, there are plenty of options nearby full of friendly folks who won’t rip you off!
