On the Grid : Berry Bros. & Rudd

"Many know of ‘BBR’ as London’s oldest wine and spirit merchant — the family business has continuously traded on their site at the bottom of St James’s Street since 1690 — and many more have heard of their excellent wine school and hosted dinners in the brick vaults underneath. But with fingerprint security system and the web’s best wine trading website, be not too deceived for this charming olde-worlde shop is also an industry leader and invaluable resource for the world of wine. Absolutely fortifying." - dn&co.

Beckhams Among Celebrities Spotted in London Restaurants This Week | Eater London

"The Piccadilly wine merchant that also operates a private dining room for special, catered events; it recently hosted a dinner where a well-known broadcaster joined a chef and other jurors from a literary/awards circle to mull over that year’s winner while enjoying a meal." - Guy Pewsey

I visited Berry Bros with friends for the Australian Lunch wine-tasting experience in The Townhouse. This is a little place tucked away behind the main shop where 12-14 people can sit down for an intimate lunch. It's really very nice and our host Rebecca made us all feel super welcome. The big attraction with Berry Bros is, of course, their unparalleled knowledge of wines and spirits. So for each of our courses we had an excellent pairing of new worlds wines which complemented our dishes and provided much scope for discussion. This made for a very relaxing and informative afternoon which both enhanced my appreciation for wine and provided a fun change from the everyday. Pleasingly there was no sense of being rushed but equally we were guided very smoothly by Rebecca for the entire time. Highly recommended.

Did a wine course in their cellars recently. A tutored tasting of Burgundy wines. Tasted 6 whites and 6 Reds. All beautifully presented with cheese and charcuterie. Excellent presentation...will be looking at other courses in the new year. Highly recommended

The Tutored Tasting is one of my favorite wine tastings we’ve done. The staff does a great job going in depth about the region, the grape, and the wine-making techniques. We tried 12 wines at a variety of price points, including reds and whites. This is lovely way to spend and evening and increase your wine knowledge. The shop itself carries a large variety of wines at very reasonable prices. Staff is knowledgeable, approachable, and kind. Take some time to visit the old shop and learn more about its history!

One of the most beautiful places in London to pick up a bottle of your favourite wine or spirit. Ever since I have moved to London, this is my spot to pick up a good bottle of wine to celebrate an occasion or gift someone. They have a wide variety to choose from and the staff are very knowledgeable and courteous answering any questions one may have. I had a great experience today buying a bottle of Ramey Chardonnay when Charlie, the store executive, shared a cool anecdote of going to a tasting event and trying the Ramey Wines alongside the creator of the wine. A pleasurable buying experience! :)

What an amazing wine shop. Not just a historic location but also an excellent selection of wines and spirits ! You can even dispense a glass while browsing for the prefect bottle.

The best place for a historical and full of flavour in centre London. Est. 1698 and 325+ years wine & spirit merchant with 2 Royal Warrants and known as "King of Independent Bottler". A place worths spending whole day here. Also, the spirit appeared on the movie "Kingsman", how interesting. If possible, a newly opened Liquor Store just besides the building woth wide selection of whiskies and also some high age, rare, collectable and super luxury bottled whiskies which showcases their capabilities in wine & spirit field. A place that must visit when you're in London.
