"Teaming up with Berkeley Bowl West and Clover Sonoma for a cafe pop-up featuring flavors like horchata and Mexican chocolate, as well as ice cream nachos with house-made churro-style chips, sauce, and topping." - Dianne de Guzman
"Liam Bonner, director of food services at Berkeley Bowl: I saw Azikiwee was calling me and he broke the news that they had been burglarized the night before. The first thing he did was apologize for not reaching out to me sooner, and the fact that was his first thought was incredible to me. The furthest thing from my mind was worrying about whether Berkeley Bowl was getting bread — my main concern was the safety of him, his team, and then also the product that he had lost. After I spoke with him, I went inside the store to make sure that the loaves that had been potentially breached were pulled off the shelves." - Dianne de Guzman
"I’ve written before about how Berkeley Bowl sells some of the best pastries in town, but when a fellow East Bay-dwelling food editor informs you that your shared favorite store now sells pastries from Craftsman and Wolves, it’s best to just make up a reason to go. And so I found myself scanning the glass pastry case at Berkeley Bowl West, and I spied this beautiful number. It’s gorgeous, of course, as is everything that comes out of the Craftsman and Wolves kitchen, with a violet-and-gold leaf encased under a clear glace top, decorating the face of a smooth and rounded “garden stone.” The lychee flavor of the mousse was lovely and delicate, not at all cloyingly sweet or over-the-top, which lychee can tend to be in the wrong hands. The softness of the mousse plays against the almond dentelle base with each bite, creating a nice juxtaposition of textures and tastes. The dentelle itself isn’t overly sweet either, and thankfully isn’t tooth-shatteringly crisp; instead, it broke nicely apart with each scoop but provided a good crunch to each bite. It’s a perfect post-grocery store reward for braving the crowds at Berkeley Bowl. Craftsman and Wolves at Berkeley Bowl West, 920 Heinz Avenue, Berkeley" - Lauren Saria
"The Oakland Japanese restaurant is currently selling out of the Berkeley Bowl West cafe, 11:30 a.m.–6 p.m., in collaboration with sister restaurant Delage and Itani Ramen. Check Instagram for the daily menu, but there’s usually a chirashi bowl, tonkatsu, and both pork and vegetarian ramen. Text 510-421-6023 to order and arrange for curbside delivery." - Luke Tsai
"Opened in 2009, Berkeley Bowl West is the second location of the famous Berkeley Bowl grocery store. It continues the legacy of offering unique and fresh produce, a hallmark of the original store." - Eve Batey
