Bed and Breakfast La Martellina

We'd like to thank Claudio for such a wonderful stay. |We enjoyed the ambiance of the house and the garden. We also enjoyed the breakfast itself as well that we sat together with other guests. We had lovely conversations.|Beside, we want to give Claudio big thanks for his help, calmness, friendliness and funny jokes as we had big complications with our car-insurance that took most of our time while staying at Fiesole.|All together we would love to come back to enjoy La Martellina

What a find! This was such a lovely place to stay, right on the banks of the Arno river. Claudio is a delight, so very helpful, and with a brilliant sense of humour. We stayed in the Tower (Torre), which was beautifully restored, had a very comfortable bed, aircon, and an epic view of the river. The outside space was very tranquil, with hammocks and tables and chairs, as well as a pool. The location is fantastic for visiting Firenze - the bus stop at the top of the road is the last stop on the 14 line; Claudio provides details on this when you first arrive.

With 38°C outside this is such a perfect spot right next to the river, with always a nice breeze. The amazing breakfast was a great way for us to slowly start the day. After that we always went to the river. In the evenings we went to Firenze by bus or by car. We love Claudio as a host. Just ask him for advice and he will know what to say! 😁 We stayed in the tower room, beautiful.

Every detail of this place is amazing. The breakfast was incredible, made with so much love! The rooms felt like home and the pool was perfect for cooling off after a hot day exploring the city- which is easily done by a button close by. The host was kind and willing to help and answer any questions we had. Would highly recommend staying here for a slow, relaxing and nourishing time in florence. Thank you!|

A brilliant B&B that saw a perfect end to our trip across Italy. The building is an old mill in exceptional condition, run by Claudio who was a great host. The breakfast is ample and the rooms have a cozy, traditional feel. I found it really easy to relax here and enjoy the Italian summer sun. Would love to return one day.

Claudio and Olivia were the perfect hosts. Mary and I spent 4 fabulous nights, Aug 25-29 2022. Claudio and Olivia's travel advice were spot on. They were gracious and attentive hosts. The food was fantastic and filling for travel into the bustle of Firenze. Every morning they had something new on their table. The rooms were the best: clean, roomy, comfortable. The place has history and charm. To come back on the bus from the loud, busy downtown to quiet and tranquility was a blessing. Beautiful evenings with wine and conversation overlooking the Arno River. Memorable. We hope you will think fondly of us as you eat your Parmigiano Reggiano! Please give our best Daisy, she is a great dog.

At first sight rustic was the word, however it is full of charm. Claudio went out of his way to assist us with the bus times (hourly but run late into the evening) and when best to visit the Duomo etc as we arrived during Holy week. He provided bicycles to which my grandson and myself utilised...we had fun going along the path of the river Arno. His uncle and himself even cycled to the Ponte Vecchio bridge ! The breakfast was simply delicious, everyday we had something new to try, and there was enough to feed a dozen not just us 5. On our chill day we ambled up to the community hub where you could find a cafe bar serving coffee, beer, pastries and snacks also a cinema and television room showing sport. A few hundred yards further on was a beautifully kept Allied soldiers war memorial,we spent the rest of the afternoon sipping champagne in the villa garden alongside the river......wonderful.||Be aware, they like their mattresses FIRM

We loved staying here! We stayed 3 nights in room Salcio. We took the bikes to go to Firenze via the road next to the river. We paddled (or subbed) on the river. We lounged in the garden. We went to Instabile (alternative open air bar and concert, next to the river, it also has 2 good restaurants next to it). It was a perfect stay! Big fans of Claudio, his breakfast, his tips and his dog! To have dinner, the best for us was to take the bikes or car.
