To me, the Bay Bloor Radio brand is quality, expertise, service. This however, does not reflect my own experience. I purchased a mini 'Mozart' system there - Mission speakers, Yamaha receiver/CD player. I know nothing about audio, which is why I went to Bay Bloor Radio. They have the knowledge and I will benefit from their knowledge, I thought. I live in Toronto, Danforth area...pretty high ground when compared to say, the BEACH area. As it turns out, the system I bought is unable to receive a radio station signal, even a large, well-established radio station signal, without the presence of static. When I corresponded with BBR about this, I was told 1./ Radio frequencies compete with other signals today, sometimes resulting in static. 2./ With streaming being as popular as it is, not all manufacturers provide quality radio reception as its not the focus of the product, the target market. That all makes sense to me, and this information would have been helpful at the time of purchase. It would have absolutely informed my purchase decision. I incorrectly expected BBR would have helped me to gain an awareness of this sort of info. For example, the BBR salesperson could have asked what my expectations were, "...will you be streaming radio or using the antenna?" In the end, I'm not saying don't buy here. What I am saying is, I should not have assumed I would be able to listen to radio via the antenna. I should have asked if I would be able to listen to the radio via the antenna without the presence of static. BTW, I tested two radios in the same area of my house...a 10 year old portable Tivoli and a 30 year old portable Sony. Both radios were able to receive radio signals without the presence of static.
