They overcharged me. When I noticed the discrepancy between my receipt and credit card bill, I immediately called the restaurant. I have talked with several people, but no one can help me. I called every day for a week straight. I am not impressed at all, and I will never dine here again.

The "food" is disgusting, the drinks... not even worth talking about them. The only aceptable one was the Corona, they just had to open the bottle. A very disappointing place in Brickell. It can not be called "Cocina and driks" .... Muy malo.

We had a great time last Thursday, the Server Nayarit was very pleasant, Great Customer Service, I work for a prestigious company with over 300 employees and I will definitely recommend them to visit Baru Brickell . Kuddos to Nayarit cool smile :-)

For our APPETIZERS we share the Empanadas BARU: 4 pieces of wheat flour patties (beef or chicken) with a side of "aji" salsa. The problem with this app is that there are too small but very delicious. Entree: A ate the Churrasco that is a 9oz Grilled Skirt Steak served with our own chimi-churri, demi glaze and mustard sauces on the side with fried yuca. My churrasco was absolutely delicious and cook Medium, which was served with three types of sauces. My sister ate the Fajitas 10th Street: Is a combination of grilled chicken and steak marinated in chipotle, onions, red and green peppers served with BARU Fries (French fries), lettuce, guacamole, suero BARU and flour tortillas. My sister love it the portion was very big. My brother in law ate the Salmon Amaretto: That is salmon fillet sautéed in a garlic amaretto mushroom sauce and is served with scallion-mashed potatoes. ps: the heat lost that night.

Great food and excellent service. We went there after escaping from the chaos of the Blue Martini. Best thing we could have done.

We've been sitting here for 30 minutes and asked to order twice. Still no server... Thinking of heading across the street.

Very nice ambient, waitresses are very friendly. They actually work for their money and keep asking if you want another bottle. Great latin music, a little outdated but good music. Overall is a great place for a young crow and want to hang out.

Went here for a night out with friends. cover was $30 for men $20 for women which they give to you in tickets to use for drinks inside. Weirdly enough the bartender only took a certain amount of the tickets per order so it just meant that to get rid of all of them we had to get more drinks. To me this wasn't a deal breaker because we did want more but it could be annoying to some. The music was good. They played a little bit of everything and for a couple minutes they also had some guys playing drums!

Ambiance: typical Latino bar- lots of Miami attire; crowded. Music: good mix of reggaeton/pop latino/salsa/merengue/bachata music Drinks: average, not worth saying much about. On the expensive side for the quality. It's like a little better than well drinks. Dancing: there was a small amount of dancing going on outside and inside on the Friday night that we went back for NYE weekend. Pricing: it's expensive for what you get. We got in for free because of some reason I could not hear from the bouncer. Though, there seems to be a cover charge. The drinks and food is costs more than its worth. Food: like pretty average. Lots of fried food. We got arepitas with this gross mayo dressing slathered everywhere. The guava sauce for the one of the dishes was the only good condiment. All in all, I would go back if I didn't have to pay too much for cover. I enjoyed the music and the vibe. They could make it more easier to dance there. Pricing is a lot but it's Miami.

I sometimes wish Yelp would invent glasses you could wear that will flash the number of stars given by Yelpers at every place you look. This could be my million dollar idea! Had I seen the reviews before being seduced by the awesome reggae band playing Wednesday night, I would have given our business to a more deserving establishment. We walk to the bar where 3 bartenders and 1 barback have only 6 people waiting for drinks. Why did it take 20 minutes to get a beer? This isn't a cocktail bar. They're not making elaborate drinks. Not one, but 2 bartenders (one who we later found out was the manager - FOR SHAME) gave us a glance and continued attending to other customers who had come in after us. ONE bartender just kind of hung around behind the bar looking for men she could talk to - maybe that wasn't what she was doing, but she sure as hell did have a nice little conversation with the guys right next to us and then completely ignored our request for drinks. I am super understanding when it comes to the service industry. I've seen bartenders tackle crowded bars 3 people deep but I know not everyone can do that with ease. BUT COME ON! Do you know how upsetting it is to see the manager just disregard our existence to go set up the stupid light up shots some waitresses sell around the bar? We finally got the barback's attention who summoned the "I'm just taking in the scenery" bartender who slooooowly got us our beer. Took her a bit to open them and then she took our credit card and even after we gave the universal sign of "close the tab" (a bit angrily I'll admit), the girl just puts the card down by the register. I will give it to the one bartender that was actually working. She was hustling doing her job, the slow girl's job and the manager's job all at once. She closed our tab for us and we chugged our beers and left this ridiculous establishment as fast as we could. The extra star is solely for the reggae band. They were awesome.

Terrible place. Their perfect description is Greedy! This place is all about money. The waitress will not give you a good service if you don't buy a bottle. One of our waitress took our order and never came back. Then they assigned us another waitress who made us wait 45 minutes for the check and she said "sorry but other people were buying bottles". By the end of the night one of their valet people almost ran over us while we were waiting for our uber. He came out of the car with an attitude to confront my sister! In addition, this place is NOT safe. Even though they had police and security people at the door, they all keep talking and cracking jokes while we almost got ran over by the valet. NEVER going back. PS: PRICES are OUTRAGEOUS for the kind of service

Recently moved to Brickell. Went with a friend to try them out. This run down bar must be the worst bar in Brickell. Waiters are rude, food is bad and dj sucks! This place plays music at disturbing volume and bass levels. Rumor has it that a group of residents/moms are getting signatures from all the surrounding buildings to petition Baru from playing music after 11pm!

I visited Baru located across from Balans in Mary Brickell Village on a Saturday night. Their shady system has not changed: you pay $10 before midnight or $30 when they decide to change the price tag sometime after midnight and you receive the same amount in Baru Bucks. It seemed like the price for my drinks varied depending on the server, but well drinks are around $16 on average. They are mostly ice, so that price seems a little high. One can use the Baru Bucks to partially cover the cost of drinks. However, tax and the service charge need to be paid separately. This can be a confusing transaction, so be sure to pay attention to how much money you are giving the bartender to ensure you get the correct change. The music at Baru is great: the DJ was mixing Latin pop and American Top 40. The music at the upstairs bar TuCandela, however, is a lot better and people were dancing. Patrons are not permitted to take their drink from Baru to TuCandela, but I was permitted to take my drink downstairs from TuCandela to Baru. Also, TuCandela does not accept Baru Bucks. The best part about Baru in Brickell is the outside area, which you won't find in the Midtown location. Crowds gather in the patio to talk and have a good time while listening to Popular hits in a casual atmosphere.

If I could give this place a zero I would!! The service sucks. The servers are set because they know that gratuity is included when anyone orders bottles. Spent a couple hours there and if we saw the server three times that was a lot. We had to get the host up front to help us. that's sad. So much money spent for shitty service. The server's name was shyrin. She sucks. Beware. She blamed the kitchen for the food yet she was the one that took 45+ to take the damn order and because we had to find her. Will not be back to this place. BTW. She got defensive and insulted a couple of us because we called the Manager on her. She said I was complaint about money no honey I was complaining about YOUR bad service. YOU. Not money

After 30 minutes we finally were able to order our drinks and the hookah. After an hour passed is when we received our hookah which was great but our drinks were messed up. We complained and around closing is when we saw the server again to order our food that again, was messed up. Despite the horrible service we had a great time but if you're not buying bottles they DO NOT CARE FOR YOU. BEWARE.

Baru is pretty much only good when there is a bar crawl going on. First of all, the music is pretty much the same every time just Latin music which can get old after a while. Secondly, there's always a long line and if not part of a bar crawl I've been asked to pay $30 cover as a girl, like excuse me? No, absolutely not worth it AT ALL. the drinks are also pretty watery most of the time. So all in all if it's in a bar crawl yeah but just to go in grab your included drink and bounce. Otherwise, definitely not worth it.

Stopped in here for a few drinks last week with some people. Took an Uber there and had a fun time! We got some bottle service and the music is awesome. Has a Latin Bar vibe, so be ready to party and dance!

This review is solely for Thursday nights with their specials. My classmates and I come here after our class on Thursday nights. They have $1 beers (budlight and corona) and even free prosecco for the ladies until midnight. Good latin music! They'll switch it up to more current hip-hop and top 40 music every once in awhile. The staff has never given me issues; they're pretty attentive around us. The bartenders are nice and have always served us good shots/drinks (when we ask them to surprise us, lol). They have good appetizers to snack on while we sip our beer and move to the music. With the $1 beers and free prosecco every Thursday night, we'll definitely be returning often (probably every week, lol).

One star for the decor and one for their great music but man do their waitstaff and bartender need help. My friend and I went their for drinks and u ordered a Paloma off their cocktail menu. When it came out, the drink was inedible- it tasted like tequila mixed with salt water. Absolutely disgusting. When we told the waiter his response was "I know. They're terrible here, this is a Colombian bar so you should know better than to order those." REALLY!? Then why is it on your drinks menu?! The rest of the night was rude and mediocre service like this. Needless to say, we left very disappointed. So. Not. Acceptable.

Bad service, bad waitresses (at least the one I had to deal with: Andrea). If you give your card and your ID and you want the check to pay everything, she will tell you how rude you are and will give you the WRONG ID AND CARD (somebody's else card and ID instead of yours) so be careful and check if they are giving to you your ID and your Card!! Not coming back to this place unless they change its personal. Just very offensive people trying to ruin your night and, unfortunately, achieving it!!! PS: She just insult me instead of at least saying sorry for giving me the wrong ID and credit card! If I didn't notice in time, not only I would've lost my things but another person (the one who's ID and credit card she gave me) would've lost them too!!

BARU in Brickell is where the latin people seek to drink and dance after 9pm till 4am. But not all what it seems when you arrive at the line. Life is so much better without Baru. This new Baru is bigger than the previous. 2 floors, 2 DJ's all mixed latin music. But the line, hosts, waitress, tricks, and prices are the same. If you arrive after 12am, you'll make a line that could probably never move. But if you decide to get a bottle, you enter immediately. ($eem$ like $omething i$ rollin $eriou$ly here.) my experience wasn't good at all. After 7 of us decided to get a bottle once they offered a free bottle of champagne, YES , we went in. An estimated $35 per person. Ok! On the other side, If you make the "I might not get in" line you pay $20 drinkable dollars, which don't include tax & tip. (You would have to pay $20 in the entrance, get your Baru Bucks, pay 11BB for your drink and would have to pay $2-3 cash for taxes and tip.) Once our host came to ask "which bottle" she added, we don't have any free champagne bottles, sorry." A little annoyed I ask for half a bottle of something else then? She agreed to "Guaro". Then the manager said no, how about a drink on the house aside from the bottle and we said sure. We got 3.... 3 tickets. &:$;!,!/.... well, the bottle we chose, a 750ml bottle of rum for 6... fail! (One of our friends bailed on drinking, f%* Esteban!?) When we got the bill, it had drinks on it which we didn't order and the hostess said, yes the ones after the tickets she gave us. Supposedly we got "6" tickets, We only saw 3. Not even buzzed I spoke to the manager after an hour of ignoring our call. I pointed him out and screamed over the music, next to the bathroom on how terrible my experience was. Guess what, he offered us more tickets for drinks. I closed my evening with no additional tip and you will never see me nor my friends ever again. Life is much better without Baru.

This place is greedy and will try to take advantage of you however it can. We paid for a table and bottle service before hand. We also paid for a hookah in a seperate check. At the end of the night, they charged us all over again for the service and the hookah A SECOND TIME. The waitress also added herself an extra tip without saying anything. My friend literally had to go to the bar to talk to the manager because after speaking to them once, they kept ignoring her calls. There are many more places like this, don't go to this one.

I never give any place 1 star but this place was ridiculous. Not only did we have to pay to get in (mind you it's a bar) they told us "the 20$ for the entrance can be used at the bar" and when we went to the bar they were still trying to take money out of our pockets. The 20$ apparently didn't include tax and tip on the drinks. The atmosphere is very Latin and the drinks are over priced. Rum (house) and coke was 13$. Definitely won't be coming back here to party. Better places to party here in Brickell

This place is AMAZING, it's my first night in Miami and we did not know much around. I was scared to try this place because of the ratings but the SERVICE is sooo good! The Hookah server, Pablo treat us so good that I am definitely coming back for more. I recommend this place for everyone for a great hookah and drinking experience. The music is really good too. We turning up with our hookah guy PABLO!!

The ambience is nice, but in the menu say a price and when they charge in the card is another price, super expensive!!! $15 a house shot?? I live in NY, and even there is that expensive!!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Let me start by saying that the group I was with consisted of 8 married professionals simply looking to have a chill night out in Brickell. We decided to check out this new baru location since we used to enjoy the old one on the Main Street. Let me just say that their whole $20 baru dollars just does not work. No drink ever equals that so its pointless. Long story short, the absurd way we were treated was absolutely unacceptable and I won't have it. This is not a club. Been there, done that and I don't think Baru is where I would put up with it anyways. We were told guys were $20 and ladies were free and when we got back 5mins later, the guy tells us $20 for everyone. He told us to leave if we didn't like it (after admitting he said that but "got confused"). THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH IT! I am not about to ruin my night for $20 and owners that cheat their customers like that. There's a reason why they only have one star.

Rude staff, overpriced and play the same played-out songs from radio. It's only a place to go when you have nowhere else to go at 3AM and want to blow your eardrums.

Luisa is probably the worst and most rude bartender I've ever encountered in my life. She'd see my standing there and just completely ignore me. Absolutely no help at all. I asked her for a cup of water and she told me they don't have that. Only bottled water. Seriously? Is this for real? The WORST.

Just went last night as a stop on my bar crawl and it was fantastic. Drinks were amazing and music was too. Can't wait to go again next weekend.

If you want to get insulted, come here , we where 5 all having drinks , at 14 $ sat outside I asked and they told us we could seat until someone wanted our table our we payed for some Cheap ass Vodka Bottle . After 10 min a girl named Sandra told us we need to move , after I explained very politely that I knew that we had to move , she got very offensive !!! And told me that if I didn't like it she will call the manager ????Does she even know how media works !!!I I wonder . That's Why I don't like Colombian Places ! To bad

Terrible place. The staff looks miserable to be employed there and it reflects on the customer service. Aside from that the overall ''vibe" is obnoxious, cheesy and the service is horrible.

Worst bar/restaurant ever. They screwed up my boyfriend's surprise birthday party. I gave them a credit card two weeks in advance and they still couldn't get things right. The appetizers went sitting on the table when I had asked and the food came out for my second table half an hour after the first table. Now I'm here for a friend's promotion party and they won't turn on the fans for us in VIP. I asked three bartenders, the third one just pretended she doesn't speak English... I'll never come back, no matter how much I love my friends. I would give this hell hole zero stars if I could.

Service at the beginning was OK...suddenly they took our bottle because we left the table to dance...they gave it us back as soon as we told them...and later... we were going to pay BUT our waiter was dancing with girls, I literally interrupted his dance to ask for the bill and pay... very unprofessional... only good thing...music, that's all

I hardly ever give 1 stars to any business but this rating is solely in the fact that you cannot contact this business. The phone on Yelp, GOOGLE, and their website is out of service. I tried contacting the other locations (Doral, Weston, Midtown, Brickell) and I got the same results. After multiple attempts to call to make a reservation for a table to celebrate a coworker birthday party; we gave up and called another venue. Please update your phone numbers/ contact information.

Everything was fine until they tried to hustle us for more money. We were a group of 8, got drinks and after they realized how "drunk" we were they offered us 50% off a bottle, we got it and then when the bill came we were charged for more drinks then we had and then they got security and cops involved for nothing because our bill was paid. They proceeded to push us out of the place, when we just spent $400 at their establishment. So basically they will treat you "nice" until it's tome to go.

This place worked in unison with the group I just met to charge me for their bottle and drinks. When I could not pay, they tried embarrassing me and kept me with their security against my will. I told them to call the police because I was not going to pay. These people are criminals and they're lucky I do not charge them for it.

I went during Miami Music week. It was the first bar we went to after arriving in Miami. I have to say I was quite disappointed. I paid 40 dollars for a hookah and it was the worst experience I ever had. Granted, I may have been some fault for me not speaking Spanish fluently, but I expected more from the bar lady than not knowing what she was doing. The hookah had an air leak and I showed it to her and she did nothing about it. She was surprised I asked for another cheap quick light coal. The flavor of the shisha was okay, but for 40 bucks, I expected first class service. The music was okay but it seemed like it was all from the same artist. I will not be going back again.

This bar sells counterfeit alcohol. Will be reporting them to ensure no one else is effected. The manager couldn't provide a match for the barcode in order to ensure authenticity. Provided phony invoice trying to justify the bottle. I am an avid vodka drinker and the bottle was definitely at the very minimum watered down, if not filled with a foreign substance and water.

Very simple -- this place is horrible! I've been dragged here many times by friends and each time has been worse than before. Clearly I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Good space and location, the service are ok, Drinks normal like other bars, good Latin music is nice places for watch a soccer game. Appetizers are fine for the prices. I recommended Empanadas. Not bad for a touch of a Colombian culture.

What a terrible venue. I and a friend were waiting in line at exactly 10:59, by the time we reached the front it turned 11:00 and they were saying that we had to now pay cover $20. I thought that to be the sleaziest move I've ever experienced from any bar I've been to. Drinks were watered down, not a drop of alcohol. We will be avoiding this establishment and will be telling our friends not to waste their time or money here.

They changed the menu now taking off the picada which Is why i was a regular here. Then I ordered the pork dish and I wanted to order and pay for arepas and the waitress just said nope we can't do that? Lol what business doesn't want to make more money? The fact they just changed it won't make me come back. Service is hit or miss sometimes great sometimes there are all too busy on there phone. Such potential but not making locals happy is probably not the best idea.

No. When an employee shoves you making your your drink spill and then shrugs it off. It's time to go somewhere else. This and many other bad examples of service I experienced here from a total of THREE different employees are the reason I'm not coming back. Rude and horrible customer service. Employees: if you don't want to be there just leave.

Strolled upon this spot walking to track down a hookah lounge. Went in definitely got a Latino vibe that was hot. Very cool ambience and great music, my boyfriend and I had fun and got to smoke a hookah. Overall I'd definitely go back for drinks and a hookah. Felt comfortable and at ease, very positive vibe.

This is my 3rd time in the new location Baru Brickell. Today I decided to rate it because it is the first time that my boyfriend and I go for a full experience on a Saturday night. We arrived around 9pm which is right before they start to charge a cover, we were a bit hungry so decided to start with the empanadas. Let me tell you they are good, but they sell it as a portion of 6- which I thought this will be enough to fill us up along with a few beers. Well I was wrong- those 6 empanadas are very tiny. They make up to about 3 normal sized empanadas. (A bit overpriced) Then we got a picada - that was good enough for the two of us. In my opinion, the little empanadas should be part of the Picada and everyone will be happy . Besides the food. Drinks are normal like everywhere else in Miami or Brickell when it comes to price. The one thing I love is the DJs here they always play great music, Spanish mostly - which is expected as they are a Latin Bar. I think Baru is one of the best Latin Bars in Brickell alongside with Tu Candela that is now above Baru but that will be another review. Now, in case you were wondering 3 starts are because of the overpriced food and lack of costumer service - They can improve on that.

Love this place. Great Latin friendly vibe. Good music to dance. And very affordable drinks
