"When I was growing up in a small village near Scotland, everyone listened to trance. The kids at my school in Newcastle were obsessed with Oakenfold and Judge Jules, and as someone who spent most of his time learning guitar in his bedroom, I didn’t get it. The first time I went to a club though, that changed. Loaded up on enough Smirnoff Ices to down a small (huge) dog, as soon as I walked into Baja Beach Club, I got trance. I just needed to experience trance first hand. We at The Infatuation had a similar reaction the first time we visited Barrafina. This has long been one of the most celebrated restaurants in London, and having walked past this original Soho location for years and watching people queue up for hours just to eat tapas, we were initially skeptical. But then we finally went, and we got it. We just needed to experience it first hand. Quite simply, the food at Barrafina is superb. This small Spanish restaurant doesn’t seem particularly special at first glance, but it most certainly is, thanks to perfectly executed Spanish dishes that will make you feel like you’re sitting at a counter in Barcelona instead of squeezed into a seat in the middle of Covent Garden. The communal setup, open kitchen, and free flowing Rioja add up to an energy that you really can’t find anywhere else in London, let alone outside of the Iberian Peninsula. There are now three Barrafinas, and this location has a particularly nice wraparound bar and big windows. But any location will be of stellar quality, so head to whichever’s closest. When you do finally try Barrafina, having a strategy is essential. Go with one friend, not three. Side by side dining doesn’t work for more than two. Put your name in and grab a glass of sherry and olives and almonds to hold you over while you wait, but don’t eat too much as you’ll want to cover a lot of ground on the menu once seated. Once you do sit down, a server will be both you cook and your spirit guide through Barrafina’s menu of Spanish classics and super fresh specials. Check our Food Rundown below, but generally know that you want to go for a mix of both. Then again, do it however you want, but just do it. Barrafina isn’t just a London gem - it’s one of the crown jewels, the proverbial Ministry of Restaurants. And to get it, you just have to go. Food Rundown Tortilla Barrafina’s version of the classic Spanish dish is fantastic, robust on the outside and oozy on the outside. It’s a tortilla done right. Stuffed Courgette Flower with Honey There is literally nothing classier than ordering one of these and sitting back and watching a guy make it for you. You’ve come a long way from Wetherspoon’s, my son. Carabinero This is basically the Rolls-Royce of deep-sea crustaceans, a deep sea Atlantic prawn that’s revered by cooks the same way your 17-year old cousin reveres Tyler Durden. Order this once to try it, and move on. Chipirones Deep-fried baby squid. These suckers are as good as you’ll get them anywhere, and are perfect for throwing back between sips of cava. Razor Clams These are the ones to order when you want to sound like you know what you’re doing. They’re prepared simply, and are very, very good. Pretty much the whole idea of Barrafina is eating simply cooked seafood in expensive-looking surroundings, and razor clams are exactly the kind of thing you want to get at a place like this. Lemon Sole There’s usually a whole board of specials that are only available on that given day. It doesn’t have to be lemon sole, but it’s a good idea to get one of the fresh fish plates, as they’re all superb." - David Paw

"Your flatmate, Judas, has decided they’ve found ‘the one’. Whatever that means. And, worse, despite the 2014 pact of Flat 42B, they’re moving out. Traitor. Pick up your grief, head to Barrafina Covent Garden and pack the wound with their classic tapas dishes and the jamon tortilla. Take a seat at the bar, order a sherry, and discover that eating alone won’t be that bad afterall." - heidi lauth beasley, eileen twum

"There’s plenty to dote over at Barrafina, but the milk fed lamb’s brains are the jewel in the menu’s crown. Breaded, deep fried and finished with pine nut tapenade, the brains take diners on an adventure in complementary textures. Modelled on Cal Pep in Barcelona, Sam and Eddie Hart opened the tapas restaurant in 2007, and have since opened two further branches. Pig’s ear carpaccio is also worth ordering, as is a glass of the Hart brothers’ own Manzanilla to enjoy while queuing." - Jonathan Hatchman

"Like all of the best Spanish tapas restaurants, Barrafina has no tables. In London’s Covent Garden, all the eating is done at a long marbled bar, lined with red leather stools, and there are no bookings: you get here first, you get served, all the while watching the chefs at work. The idea is that it’s just like being in Spain (the inspiration for Barrafina was Barcelona’s Cal Pep), and it really is: the atmosphere is chaotic and the food comes from all corners. One minute you’re eating a ortiguilla (a type of sea anemone found in the Balearics) in a paper cone, the next a chicken wing served in a Canarian mojo picón sauce."

Amazing food, wine and service - a great dinner spot for a special occasion. We had the pleasure of being served by Jennifer who gave great recommendations and was so lovely! Would love to come back here!

Ambiance and flavors were excellent! The atmosphere is very cozy and lively, especially sitting at the bar offers a unique experience. The food was fresh and carefully prepared. Watching the chefs work adds a special dynamic to the place. Definitely a spot you’d want to visit again!

Google
Great restaurant with attentive staff. The Arroz de Mariscos was a little too salty for our taste, but the chicken thigh was excellent! Portions are small, so we ordered five dishes between the two of us. We booked through a dining app and got a 30% discount, which helped, as it might feel a bit pricey without it. Overall, still highly recommended!

Google
Delicious food and great wine list. Enjoyed the recommendations and the specials. Lovely lunch after a morning at the National Gallery.

Google
This is more like a barstool restaurant where people might find it more comfortable to stand than sit. The food comes fast and it’s of high quality. I would recommend the bar only so the chefs talk to you.

We were here a little early so not hungry enough to eat up a storm. Service is fantastic. Very good explanation to the food and wine in the menu as we are not too familiar with Spanish menu. The squid ink croquettes were amazing. Crisp on the outside and the inside is flavourful and moist. I personally enjoyed the flavour of Arroz de Mariscos, somewhat like a paella. The broth in which is the grains are cooked is full packed with seafood flavour. The eggplant is deep fried with a light batter and the drizzle is sweet which is very appetising.

Great spot, good atmosphere and love the counter seating. The tortilla was so good we ended up bordering another one. Highly recommend for a date night or catch up with a good friend.

Google
So good! Barrafina may have lost its star, but the food is still damn tasty. Service was good but not fast to refill drinks. Chefs behind the counter interacted with us very little but the food was delicious. Bill was steep but just about felt worth it

Yelp
Came here for a solo dinner and was seated at the bar. The server was super friendly and patiently explained the entire menu to me. I ended up getting a small bite (banderilla) which was delicious, chipirones and squid ink rice. Everything was delicious, although the rice was probably a little over salted, but not too terrible.

Kate C.

Yelp
We loved our lunch at Barrafina. The service was excellent and the food was incredible. The chicken thighs, olives, tuna tartare, patatas bravas, jamon iberico and garlic shrimp were some of our favorite dishes.

Yelp
When I searched Reddit for London must visit restaurants, Barrafina was one that came up frequently. I wish our jet lag hadn't messed with our eating schedule so we could have enjoyed even more, but what we did eat was fantastic! Barrafina has a long counter where you can see your meal being cooked right in front of you. Talk about fresh! They have a great wine list and we enjoyed an earthy red as we shared a variety of tapas including the tortilla, patatas bravas and salad. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! The tortilla was so soft and gooey on the inside. I'd never had one with that kind of creamy center before. I loved the crisp patatas bravas and the salad was perfection for being so simple. They have daily specials so that they'll post on instagram or go over with you when you arrive. They have a bunch of fresh seafood so there are typically great seafood special options! A wonderful dining experience that I'd highly recommend. Don't forget to make a reservation!

Yelp
Phenomenal, just phenomenal! This is a diner style location where everyone's view is of the bustling open kitchen. Service was flawless. The staff was so engaging, friendly, and the head chef himself even came by briefly to see how we liked everything. After tasting some of their recommended dishes, I can see why this spot is so busy. We ordered: Monkfish & mussels- The star dish of the night. If you see it on the special menu, ORDER IT!! Prawn Tortilla- One of many tortilla options and very delicious Seafood rice- Similar to risotto. Creamy, flavorful and can be shared by two people. Croquettes- One day I may walk into a tapas place and avoid croquettes. This was not the day and I regret nothing.

Ashley F.

Yelp
I highly recommend Barrafina for the bar seating& open kitchen set up which make for a fun atmosphere even when dining alone. Since I was alone I only had the ham croquettes, Patatas bravas and the Manchego cheesecake. The cheesecake was my favorite part by far. The rest of the food coming off the line looked delicious though. It's just minutes from Charing Cross Station & the National Gallery.

Yelp
We visited the original SOHO locations previously and this is our first time to the Covant Garden location. Barrafina serves modern basque country dishes, which are hard to find, and execute the dishes nicely. The atmosphere is great since everyone is sitting on barstools around the kitchen, and service is on top of everything. The food is top notch and I wish I would've been hungrier. Every item on the menu sounded delicious. We ordered the cuttlefish coquettes from the special menu, was outstanding. The monk fish tail was cooked perfect and very moist. The pork cheeks was tender and very flavorful. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation to go to this restaurant and try some new dishes!

Nicolette A.

Yelp
OMG the food at this little restaurant is amazing. We went for lunch and sat at the counter where we could watch how everything was prepared. The coordination is something to see. We had sangria and about 6 different things from the menu - potatoes bravos, a shrimp dish, tortilla, asparagus - honestly can't remember. What I do remember is that everything we ate was prepared and presented beautifully. Staff was friendly and it is just a happy place. Totally worth the trip - easily one of the best meals we had in London. The counter is fun to sit at and the whole environment is laid back. There are several locations and all get very busy so make a reservation!

Grace L.

Yelp
The sizes were too small given the price of the tapas. They charge more than £15 per tapas that are regular size, no more than 3-4 bites. We got seated in the downstairs so the ambiance was not as lovely.

Jacqueline Z.

Yelp
This tapas place was a bit small, and they mainly have bar seating (there are hooks underneath the counter if you'd like to hang your bag). My party of 2 got a reservation around the time they opened, and we saw a lot of parties walking in around that time, so I'd suggest either getting there early or making a reservation if you'd like to visit. Ham Croquetas (4/5): Crispy and delicious, but also a tad bit salty for my tastes. The portion is pretty small. Iberian Pork Cheeks (5/5): This was really good, and I'd definitely recommend it! The pork was super soft to eat, and the flavoring was quite nice too. We also ordered some wine to go with the food, which were both pretty good. Service was good but not great (would rate it a 4/5). We ordered only 2 items and were surprised when a Stuffed Courgette Flower appeared, but people can make mistakes and they took it away and removed it from our tab once we told them that we did not order it. Felt really bad since the food was already cooked, but didn't want to pay for something we didn't order.

Ted B.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this place! We popped in with no reservations and the place was incredibly busy. Thanks to Roberto who told us to hang out for a bit, he found us two seats at the counter. I'm so happy he did as the food was amazing and the best tapas I've had to date. We ordered croquettes, tomato salad, scallops, and more! All were amazing and the mango cheesecake didn't sound like something I'd typically like, but in fact it was amazing! The service was very attentive and friendly, plus watching the chefs work in the open kitchen was truly impressive and added to the memorable experience and ambiance.

Yelp
We had a reservation and was sat right on time. Service was quick. We had a ham Majoma, cuttlefish croquettes, and tomato salad appetizers. All great. The prawns and pan appetizer was super filling albeit a little less in the flavor profile. Mains were the suckling pig (very filling great subtle flavor) and lemon sole (light, delicate, easy going down and a delight). The staff were attentive and we were not rushed. All in all I would highly recommend. Great seating at the counter.

Lisa T.

Yelp
I came here before a musical and every dish that we ordered was tasty. Price point is reasonable. It's fast paced environment and food comes out relatively quickly. London definitely has better ethnic food than regional food based on my time here.

Vivien T.

Yelp
Great tapas . Place is packed must make reservation ! See photos All very delicious Must try !!

Ed A.

Yelp
Simply the best. Every time we come to London we stop at one of their locations! Fish meat wine and killer Estrella!

Monica D.

Yelp
Came here with a group of friends while visiting and it was a excellent choice. There was no table seating, just counter seating which was a bit uncomfortable as a couple from the group sat at the main counter while we were in another area. We ordered a whole lot of plates which most of us shared and split the bill, here is what we got: *Chicken croquettes *Octopus *Scallops *Lamb brains *Crispy pig ear *Lobster Paella *Seafood rice *Pork ribs *Pork skewer *Lamb kidney *Suckling pig Nothing was even good, all great. Portions were comparable to quality and price. Great for sharing.

Yelp
Accommodating and friendly tapas place. Eat and drink like you are in Barcelona. Try the sirloin for something different. Going back. See you there amigo! Order me some cava.Eat the squid and the shellfish.

Mary G.

Yelp
Second time I've been to this spot. Delicious food and great service. Love sitting and watching the action going on in the open kitchen.

Yelp
THIEVES OPERATING IN RESTAURANT - BE AWARE! I visited Barrafina on 21 February 2023, sat on a barstool at the end of bar with a friend and put my small black backpack at my feet at 8pm. There is no other place to keep a small backpack so all customers are required to this. As we got up to leave at 9.30pm, i noticed my backpack wasn't there. We then found another old backpack that had been left behind which somebody used in case they were challenged on stealing mine. The restaurant have confirmed that they have no duty to protect their customers possessions and that professional thieves operate on their premises. Their CCTV is completely useless as well and they do not control or check thieves operating in the restaurant. I can't believe that a Michelin starred restaurant is willing to allow thieves to steal its customers possessions and not act in any way. The MD of all Barrafina restaurants confirmed that its customers can't expect protection against theft on their premises and must rely on their own insurance. They also said that this is the same for all Harts Group restaurants so do no visit Quo Vadis, El Pastor, Parillan, The Drop or Bar Daskal as they won't protect customers from theft on those premises either. And to top it all off........the food has gone really badly downhill as well.

W C.

Yelp
Excellent! The best restaurant we tried in London. The seafood was fresh, the shrimp (gambas rojas) and croqueta's were delicious. Every dish we tried was very good or excellent. Also, saw many people ordering the olives, will have to remember to do so the next time I'm there.

Louis C.

Yelp
One of my favorite dining options in London. I've visited the original SOHO location numerous times and decided to try this newer location. This location is roomier with more seats at the counter. Still not an ideal place for parties larger than 3 for it is counter seating only and first come first serve. Service is prompt and very friendly. While a small thing it may be meaningful for some that the water (still or sparkling) is on the house. The food is as good as the SOHO location. My favorite are always the razor clams and the chicken wings. The wings are baked at high temps so that there is little fat left in the crispy skin. It is served with a bed of tomato based sauce. The Chicharrón is not pork rinds instead it is a dish of super tender pork belly slices. The pork literally disintegrated in my mouth. The ox tongue is fanatically tender and the potatoes are pan fried with some Dijon mustard that gave it a little extra flavor. The quail is grilled to perfection and accompanied by pickled vegetables. I think there isn't a bad choice on the menu.

Miko B.

Yelp
There are 3 different Barrafina locations in London; all have slightly different menus. The one on Adelaide street serves the signature lamb's brain, so obviously that's where my coworker and I went. This Michelin-starred tapas restaurant makes it to almost every list of London's must-try food spots. They serve authentic Spanish tapas that are great for sharing. However, because the dining area only has counter seating, it isn't ideal for parties larger than 3. We came for Tuesday dinner at 19:15 and were seated in a little over an hour. The wait is indeed quite daunting, but you will be rewarded with a flurry of small plates that are both delicious and creative. // Classic Tortilla (£8.00) - 3 stars // Milk Fed Lamb's Brain (£10.60) - 4 stars // Stuffed Courgette Flower (£8.50) - 4 stars // Crab Croquetas (£6.80) - 4 stars // Oyster, Lime & Chillies (£3.90 each) - 3 stars // Herb Crusted Rabbit Shoulder (£9.50) - 5 stars // Mackerel Special (£15.80) - 4 stars

Bailey M.

Yelp
We came in just for a small snack. The crab croquettes were small but very good. I had a tortilla based on an article recommendation. It was my first Spanish tortilla and was pretty good! I have never had one before so it's hard to compare with others. The water was free and service was friendly!

Vanessa S.

Yelp
What a delicious place to eat at! I found this place on Yelp and decided to go there. I was welcomed by a well lit establishment with not tables but a curved counter top. We sat down and our waiter Lucas immediately greeted us and started talking to us. The menu has so many yummy things to pick from. Overall we ate deliciously. We had tomato bread, olives, jamon iberico, and seafood rice. The plates were really small but perfect for sharing and trying a little of everything. The waiter was so sweet and gave us so many good recommendation. Super cute place for date night too. It was a little pricey but I found it to be worth it.

Andrea B.

Yelp
Always a go to spot when in London. Was a bit disappointed the last time will service. They now take reservations. Which meant they were a bit awkward with seating us right as they opened.

Amanda M.

Yelp
We came with another couple and sat for probably 4 hours and ate and drank till our hearts content. It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be ~ 40 quid per person. Think about it- that's actually amazing! And it was awesome to come with another couple because we could try more food! We all sat at the bar and the waitstaff was very accommodating- actually they were fantastic. I'm not sure if there is other seating downstairs or if everything is bar seating. Here's what we ate. Crab coquetas- creamy and delicious on the inside, and crunchy on the outside Pan con tomate- nothing like pan con tomate in Spain (I'm such an expert) but still delicious Arroz de Marisco- delicious! I thought it tasted like paella but maybe it's not. Full of flavour and the rice has that nice texture that paella has. Stuffed courgette flower- oooooh yes this was delicious. Super crunchy on the outside and a creamy surprise on the inside! Judion, fennel and smoked salmon- Very lovely flavours. Fresh, crunchy, healthy, delicious Yellow Chicory, Don Bocarte Anchovies and Salmorejo- Another fresh and delicious dish. The price is pretty steep on this one but it was a nice addition. Milhojas- the most delicious dessert!!! layers of fluffy pastry with the creamiest custard in the centre. YUM! This was a fantastic experience with great drinks, delicious food and wonderful people.

Saloni G.

Yelp
The service was very friendly but the majority of our food lacked flavor. The croquetas and pan con tomate were fresh and delicious. The pulpo and gambas unfortunately were very underseasoned.

Rachel R.

Yelp
There's usually a wait but there are plenty of places to stand and have a drink and a couple bites while you wait for a seat at the bar. There are plenty of options for vegetarians. I especially loved the pan con tomate, and the freshly made tortilla. And definitely save room for dessert!

christie c.

Yelp
My experience in Barrafina at the Covert Garden was ok. The food seems to have similar taste. Nothing really stand out. The dishes I ordered was good, just that nothing is profound. Here's what I ordered: Cuttlefish croquettes Queens scallop Monkfish fritters

Douglas A.

Yelp
I have been to many of the top restaurants in London and if I had to choose one for exquisite food and great, friendly service, Barrafina would get my vote every time. This is a simple but exciting dining experience for everyone. It offers small plate dining in the best Tapas tradition. They also have a solid wine and beer menu. This is a small chain in London but it is quite refined. The staff works in perfect synchronization and with enthusiasm. The dishes we had were delicious and perfectly prepared. We started with the crab croquettes, bon bon date with pancetta, Iberian ribs and then the doughnuts with chocolate sauce. We added some vegetable dishes along with a nice carafe of Spanish Albareno and the meal was heavenly!

Ines C.

Yelp
Hands down the best Spanish food I've had out of Spain. In the case of some dishes it's even better than some I've had in Spain. Especially enjoyed the seafood rice (this is not a paella!!) and the tomato salad on specials. I am a sucker for croquetas and these are excellent. Also enjoyed a glass of cava which was not overpriced! Most everyone cooking/serving is Spanish except for a couple of Italians. If you want real Spanish, look no further. Also, unless you have a pea-sized stomach you won't leave here for less than 40 per head.

Dave R.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to discover Barrafina (the one in Soho) on a trip to London several years ago. I make sure I return every time I come back to London. On this particular trip to London whilst walking from our hotel to the Golden Jubilee footbridge we stumbled upon the newer Barrafina near Covent Garden -- very close to our hotel. Wonderfully (and as expected), this Barrafina is as good as the original with the added bonus of it being less busy than its Soho sibling (only a 30 min. wait at 7:00pm on Sat. night). Being a Spanish tapas restaurant modeled after an old-fashioned American diner, Barafinna is perfectly suited to my preference for making a meal out of shared small plates at the bar. On this evening we started with a bottle of The Flower and the Bee Coto de Gomariz (Spanish white) and Marcona Almonds. We then proceeded to order an amazing round of small plates: lightly fried fresh Anchovies (special); Fried Oysters (special); Prawn & Bonito Carpaccio; and Crab on Toast. Every dish was an amazing mix of tastes and textures expertly prepared and presented. I already suspected our meal would be amazing due to my previous visits to Barrrafina in Soho and I was not disappointed. And my girlfriend, who'd never been, is dying to go back. Luckily, we are in London for several more days.

Christina L.

Yelp
Authentic Spanish, and delicious food, with some extra fusion dishes that you wouldn't traditionally find in Spain (like donuts and crab croquettes). This is not a cheap meal, and will probably run you about £45-50 per person, but you'll get a good variety of food. The layout of this place is not conducive to large groups, so don't come here with more than 3 people. 2 is ideal, and you can do 3, but the seating is all along a long bar, so it's difficult to talk to a larger group (and even more difficult to get a seat to accommodate everyone). GET THESE (I listed them from my favorite to least favorite) Crab Croquettes (2 for £6.50) - They will increase your order to 3 and price it accordingly if you need more per order, because sharing 2 croquettes amongst more than 2 people may be challenging. And these are delicious enough that you won't want to share one. It's cheesy, creamy and has crab inside and then deep-fried. I loved these and would recommend it. Iberian Pork Ribs (£13) - This was the best dish of everything we ordered, and my other 2 dining companions agreed. I was skeptical before we ordered, but the meat was flavorful, tender, and just fell off the bone. I'd highly recommend this dish. Tortilla Classica (£7) - Pretty standard tortilla espanola, but served fresh which I always like vs. the cold tortilla. It was really good and worth an order. Artichokes & Aioli (£7.80) - These were deep fried artichoke hearts with an aioli sauce. They were delicious. Arroz de Mariscos (£14.50) - Paella with seafood done right - tasty, not salty, and the rice was not over-cooked or mushy. I'd recommend; the portion size will feed 2-3 people. Jamon Iberico (£15.80) - This was a last minute addition and it was delicious, and some of the best jamon iberico I've had. A bit on the pricey side, but there's a generous amount of meat. SKIP: Crab on Toast (£8) - I found this to be a little weird and mushy in texture. It was crab mixed with tomato on toast -- I'd personally skip this, it's also hard to share. Donuts & Chocolate Sauce (£7) - I typically love all desserts and I love anything with chocolate but this fell short for me. The donuts were dry and they were soft and fluffy. It was almost too dough-like, and the chocolate sauce on it didn't help the dryness. I'd pass and go find dessert elsewhere 4.5 stars for this place - it's authentic Spanish tapas, but be prepared for a wait. It's not inexpensive, but for the quality of the food and for the variety that you'll eat, I say it's worth it.

Julie P.

Yelp
Oh my godness, this place is a must do in London. Each item we had was amazing: Started with croquetas, stuffed courgette flower, arroz dr mariscos, tortilla de morcilla, and much much more. Everything was delish. The servers/chefs are incredibly friendly and great at recommending!!!

Andy C.

Yelp
Go early and get ready for a queue. But the wait is worth it, plus you can order small bites and drinks while you wait. This place is counter service only, but that just adds to the ambiance in my opinion. The food is simple, the ingredients are fresh and the service is attentive but a bit slow (but still fast by Spanish standards). Standouts for us were the fresh seafood dishes we ordered off the daily chalkboard: the clams, octopus, and prawns. But don't skip the Spanish Tortilla or the Octopus which are favorites on the menu.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
What I love about Barrafina is that the tapas menu is really different from most of the tapas restaurant in London! The food is great and the vibe from the open kitchen is so cool! My fave dishes were the seafood ones we had: grilled razor clams and arroz de marisco. We also tried as starters the crab balls (very good, you can really taste the crab) the fuet platter was good but nothing special but the Iberco jamon was really good according to my friends (Im usually not a fan of Iberico ham so Im not a good judge on that) Other dishes were: some pork stew with peas and ham! bicadillo de calamar which I really digged. Fried chipirones (a classic, good but nothing special) and the tortilla with morcilla and piquino peppers. Overall all dishes were solid so you can easily order anything and be happy. Wine selection is also not your classic wines which is good if you re into trying out new things. We had the red wine called El Mago and it was superb went really well with all the tapas even the seafood ones They have a specials board too!

Steve Y.

Yelp
What a great place. Terrific food and great staff. Love Spanish food and this little place in London didn't disappoint. Barrafina deserves every good review it gets. Food was prepared with great care, Ezequiel prepared every dish with care and an attention to detail that was wonderful to watch. The Iberian Ham was terrific as were the grilled pork ribs and Milhojas. Though very busy, Kelsey took the time to make sure I understood the menu and explained the various dishes going by. Fabulous to watch the orchestration. All the smells and tastes of Barcelona. Great food, prepared with care. Can't ask for anything more. Ok.... I closed the place. The staff went from cooking to cleaning. Top to bottom. Very impressive.

Yelp
London's answer to Barcelona's best tapas bars. From the atmosphere, to the service and the food, except nothing but perfection. So sure, you might have to wait to get to perch on one of the red leather bar stools, but trust me when I say it's well worth it. Plus crab croquetas and a glass of crisp white wine make the wait feel much shorter! http://cakeandwhisky.com/2016/04/04/barrafina-adelaide-street

Yelp
Although there was an ordering snaffu and my food took longer than expected, the food and show behind the bar were worth the wait. I had the stuffed courgette flower and the Tapa de Entrecot Gallego. The sweet honey flavor of the flower played well with the tang of the cream cheese, the steak was well seasoned, and the potatoes perfectly crisp yet tender. I recommend going alone, people think it's lonely but you get sat more quickly, make friends at the bar, and get food faster -- which sounds more lonely now?

Yelp
If you want to beat the queues, this is a great branch of Barrafina to come to. We arrived on Saturday at 11:55 AM and we were the third table to be seated. They very kindly placed us in a corner table so that our two-year-old could run around when she was done eating without escaping the restaurant, leaving my husband and I to enjoy the dishes in peace. The menu is different to the other branches. Yesterday we had the pork ribs that the server had recommended it was smoky and full of flavour. Crab croquetas were full of crab and creamy goodness, and the seafood rice infused with so much rich seafood flavour. Very friendly staff and great service!

Yelp
I was lucky to be seated right away on a slower afternoon. The seafood is so fresh!! and Freshness is the key to great seafood dishes. The catalan cream is also not disappointing. Overall a very pleasant experience!

Yelp
5 of 5 selections we experienced, were all phenomenal! The Monkfish, my favorite. The squid, another favorite. Even with the pork being the least favorite, it was still great. Don't ask me the names, let the staff guide you in the selections.

Yelp
I dined here solo on a stay in London awhile back and it was excellent. It's a good solo dining establishment with great food and good service. Barrafina's seating made it so I didn't feel lonely dining alone, other diners were up for conversation as well contributing to my pleasant experience, and the staff was friendly.

Yelp
Managed to get a seat before a play last weekend, and was once again impressed by everything I ordered - the standout being an amazing winter salmorejo and scallop in the half-shell. Can't wait to find an excuse to go again!

Yelp
Light lunch: 3.75/5 Friendly service, good food and nice ambience. Repeat: if in the area and have no other plans, perhaps.

Yelp
This was excellent!!! Besides the waiting for a table, the food and wine we ordered was amazing. We had the charcuterie ham, was the best ham ever had it literally melts in your mouth. The quail eschebeche was a very interesting combination. Even the olives were delicious. The Meal was a 10/10

Yelp
One of my favorite Spanish restaurants in London. This place is almost as good as visiting Spain. They have a great menu plus their specials are amazing. Besides that they have amazing wine, including Vega.

Yelp
One of my favourite restaurants anywhere! Excellent food, amazing service and very lively and entertaining atmosphere! If you have to wait a bit for a seat, there's a reason - everything is so good and freshly prepared, the wine and drinks are great, and the chefs and other staff make you feel special and at home at the same time! There are thousands of restaurants in London and I have been here many times, and this is one of the few that I make a point to dine at (maybe more than once per trip). Love it!

Yelp
Barrafina serves really delicious food and has wonderful service. It can be quite tricky to get a seat because the space is small and everything is served at the bar, but the staff made a real effort to make sure our group of three could sit together - even asking other customers to scoot down so that we could get seats together! The tapas are pricey, but the food is very high quality. I especially loved the fried artichoke and the crab croquetas. Sitting at the bar means you can see every other dish being prepared right in front of you, so we definitely ended up ordering some extra food when we saw something fantastic being whipped together!

Yelp
This places fires on all cylinders. Get there early as line-ups are unavoidable. Super efficient kitchen putting out every plate with attention to details. My favourite was the Spanish spot prawn which was flown in on the day. The tuna tartare with avocado moose was delicious. The endives with anchovies and bacon was good, as was the Tortas/quiche. Pretty much what ever you order will be served with great talent and effort. Bring your check-book as it is not cheap but worth the price of admission.
