The saddest music bar I have ever been in.
The room is amazing, the vinyls are plentiful and the drinks are well priced, with a large selection. There are rules to enter (no pictures, no loud talking, etc) which is fine but they only showed the rules to foreigners.
The staff only spoke Japanese, but I know some speak english, as I have lived in Japan for a long time. The key thing is there is no vibe whatsoever. No one was smiling, not the staff or any patrons. The music by the DJ was great but it was like fun was prohibited. If you are a bucket list person, then go to tick a box but if you love music, the vibe is super depressing.

Lots of rules which will be enforced without hesitation. Mostly common sense but be aware that this place is more upright than most so go elsewhere if this might spoil your night. 4 pax per group max. Avoid weekends. Don’t make too much noise. No photos. Enjoy the music!

The staff here are very professional however the clientele here are a bunch of immature arrogant children and tourists. There are far better Whisky Bars in Tokyo. This is the kind of wanky hype you expect from an Instagram recommendation. Many of the Japanese in this establishment are racist, ignorant and xenophobic. The bar is also in fact quite noisy and not relaxing at all. The bar staff fail to install their quietness rules. Overpriced and extremely disappointing. Do yourself a favour and avoid.

Great place and great vibe.
Unfortunately they had technical problems with the sound system. No one seemed to notice it, not staff or guests but we asked if the sound was really correct. They assured us that it was correct. No bass and almost only one speaker? After one hour someone corrected the amps and the sound bloomed out … it was clearly wrong before that. The track that changed it was “beck- looser” … a bit ironic.
I’ve only been here once and I’m sure this was just a very unfortunate and unusual situation. When the sound was corrected it sounded very good.
I can highly recommend a visit.

Can’t believe the treatment we just received while at this “bar.” I was apart of a group of 4 and was told to wait 5-10 minutes for a seat inside. The male hostess had us wait in the foyer which is the equivalent of a coat closet and took our drink orders while we stood and waited. 35 minutes rolls around and it’s clear we aren’t getting a seat. As we closed out our tab we noticed he charged us the cover charge which is absolutely ridiculous as we were never seated inside. This is the first pompous establishment we’ve set foot it in Tokyo and the hostess could not be more rude. Enjoy our American music.

This place is amazing. Know what you’re getting into and make sure this is what you want: to focus on some very well-curated music with very high quality analog sound. Yes, you will be shushed if you’re talking over the music. No, it’s not because you’re a foreigner.

It is a nice old school record bar with a nice ambiance. They serve mostly whiskeys with a broad menu. Negatives - smoking inside, rude staff. Note they don't allow talking or photos and are ruthlessly aggressive about enforcing those 2 rules.

ya echoing everyone else, respect the rules and you’ll be fine. piece of advice: best to come in groups of 2, max. otherwise it’s quite hard to keep your voice down.
they’re pretty foreigner friendly. at least, I didn’t feel like they discriminated against anyone. there were plenty of foreigners when I went.
great for casually smoking a cigarette (or heated tobacco, whatever floats your boat), casual convo, listening to music. real vibe
