"Some Military History Danang has a strong association with the American War. It was here that US troops first landed, it had a major US airbase and it was a designated R&R spot for US troops. It is fitting then that the city is home to one of Vietnam's more interesting and comprehensive war museums. The museum is split into four sections including an outdoor display of military equipment, a military museum, a reproduction of Ho Chi Minh's house and a Ho Chi Minh Museum."

Complaining about the cost of admission, as some do, is ridiculous. It’s $2.40! Get a grip. And of course it’s a bit slanted but the victor writes the history. Also remember that many Vietnamese living in the South didn’t want the North to prevail and left in a mass exodus. Remember the boat people? The communist takeover resulted in decades of economic stagnation and political pogroms. I enjoyed the museum which is very similar to the one in Hanoi.

Very informative and interesting. Felt some parts could have had more description. Ho Chi Minh exhibition was the best part! Also was interesting to see more about the war. Very very quiet when we went early afternoon.

I read 30,000 VND though we ended up paying 60,000 VND per person. The ticket prices have gone up. It's still a part of a very much running regiment that has converted a few segments into a museum divided in 4 parts. Full of history - good collection of weapons but modern artillery as well as primitive handmade ones. Just one feedback - the fans barely worked, no air conditioning, it gets really hot & humid. We weren't able to complete the visit due to the same. It was practically empty in July 2024 with no visitors but us.

Took my kids for a history lesson today. I’m also a history buff especially when it came to the Vietnam war. I was more excited than the kids. We biked there with no issues. The staff was friendly and told us where to park my bike. Admission was affordable. My youngest didn’t have to pay, yay! The tanks and planes outside was awesome. A lot of “war” time artifacts and exhibits which my oldest son digger. Also learned quite a bit about the history of Vietnam. Got to see a replica of Ho chi Ming’s last home. The garden and pond was serene and well kept. The newer building was a nice upgrade for the main museum was quite old. All in all a worth it experience for the family. I would recommend visiting, can easily spend half 3 hours here.

Well put together. There are actually two separate sections here so make sure you go to both. The largest display at the entrance follows the fight for freedom primarily from the 1930's. Further back into the grounds is another smaller section following the rise to prominence of Ho chi Minh.

If you are in Da Nang and interested in knowing Vietnamese history then this is a must-visit place where an entry ticket is 60k VND. The museum is three stories and it requires at least two to three hours to explore it completely and peacefully. Inside the premises, you can see many planes, machinery etc used during wartime. Inside the main building, it was kind of confusing to locate the way as there were no arrow marks but none of the staff was there inside the museum. There are many interesting facts I got to know but the sad part was the description was written everywhere mostly in Vietnamese and very few in English so it was difficult to co-relate.

Great museum to visit. The day me and my friend visited here there was only us and some family at the museum so we basically had the place to ourselves which was nice to look at everything. The museum shows the Vietnamese perspective more which is what I was looking for after already being to the war remnants museum in Saigon. The grounds of the museum has a nice lake with beautiful fish in the water. The is also a separate museum here that is solely about Ho Chi Minh which was amazing and interesting to check out.
