Ba Bar South Lake Union

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in the Seattle area I had a slightly weird feeling about it when we walked in (at 8 PM on a Friday) and most of the restaurant was empty. For some reason, the host decided to put us at one of the bar-adjacent wide tables rather than an actual table. The next weird thing was when someone I was with ordered a drink and received an entirely separate drink instead. Again a little strange - it's not often you see that As for what I ordered, I decided to go with the Duck Supreme, which came as large duck breast pieces with some rice and a fried egg on top Maybe the only good parts of this meal was that the rice was decent enough, and I liked the pineapples and carrots/onions that came with it. The egg was good, but what I didn't appreciate was the waiter asking me if I wanted an egg on top, but without mentioning that it costs extra. I only found out that adding the egg cost an additional $2.5 when it was time for the bill. I checked and it does mention the extra cost on their menu, but at the top and in a small print What makes this truly awful, though, was how bad the duck was. It made up by far the biggest proportion of the dish, so if you mess it up, you end up turning the entire dish into a catastrophe. Unfortunately, as you can probably tell, this dish ended up crashing and burning pretty hard. I actually feel bad for whatever duck (or ducks?) died to make this. You deserve better little buddy (or buddies) I could instantly tell something was wrong based on how impossible it was to even cut the duck in the first place. It took a serious amount of effort to even make the tiniest cut, using both a knife and fork. I don't think I've ever been served meat this tough in a restaurant before. The fact that a cook took a look at this and decided it was ok to serve represents a carelessness about the customer that's a massive red flag. As expected, the meat was not tender, juicy, or flavorful. Another annoying part was the tiny bones that were scattered throughout the meat itself, making this a pretty annoying eating experience. Towards the end, I just gave up on cutting the meat and started eating it like a turkey leg If everything wasn't enough, this ended up being really expensive. It came close to $50 for a entree & a drink, which is just ridiculous. If you asked me to name restaurants where you could get a significantly better experience for a significantly better price in Seattle I would keep going until I lost my voice. Overall, I have major regrets about coming here, and even though I live nearby, there's no chance I'll be at any other location of this restaurant again. 1/10

Stopped here on a whim because I walked past it the other day at lunch and WHAT A FIND! We went out with friends who don’t drink so we all got mocktails off their NA list and they were really great. We loved our drinks. The food was excellent all around we shared a variety of apps and I got the vegetarian vermicelli and it was awesome. The amount of sauce was perfect, the crisped onions, the grilled shiitake’s were excellent. The one thing I could have had less of was lettuce in my dish. Aside from that it was an awesome find. The vibe of the place is super chill, relaxed, and fun. We all commented on how we appreciated the volume of the music and how it wasn’t loud which seems to be a trend these days. It was easy to have a conversation and enjoy our food. Can’t wait to return.

By far one of the tastiest Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to. We ordered the Asian eggplant with green onion oil and fresh mint as an appetizer followed by vegetarian vermicelli with spinach wrapped tofu and shiitakes. The vermicelli was fresh and flavorful. I’ll be back. 😋

Had a phenomenal experience at Babar recently. Was served by the lovely Sara who was just a delight as a server. She helped me navigate the cocktail menu and pick drinks that were tailored to what I was looking for and I loved all of the cocktails I tried. She highly recommended the wings and they did not disappoint - some of the best wings I’ve ever had. I’ll be back for more wings soon and I heard they have a great deal for wings on Mondays and Tuesdays. To top off my experience I had a wonderful light chocolate creme dessert with coconut shavings ontop - delectable. Couldn’t have more good things to say about my experience. As good as the food and drinks were, they were overshadowed by how amazing and bubbly my server Sara was - she is a gem! And very nice on the eyes. I’ll be back very soon!

The Saigon chicken wings were good, but could have used more flavor “on the wings” instead of “in the sauce”. The Shrub drink was tasty too. The table at the window offered a great view of the street and a light breeze. The vibes in the restaurant after work is just right.

We always have a great experience at Ba Bar, regardless of the location, and this was no exception. We quickly got a table, and they were super kind to my four-year-old son. The cocktails were fabulous. The imperial rolls are our favorite appetizer. I had a combo vermicelli bowl, and it was delicious. Our server was great, and the restaurant was relaxed and not too loud.

I come all the time because I work and live in the block. I was surprised to see it with only 3.5 stores so I placed a review to level it up. Key menu standouts include: Pho Hanoi , the wings, beef vermicelli, and Thai ice coffee.

High quality and tasty Vietnamese food, with a number of vegetarian options. It's a little on the pricey side--I'm used to Vietnamese being on the cheaper side--but the quality is high (and the food's really yummy!), and they have a pleasant ambiance. One reco: if arriving for lunch, get there before noon. They're really hopping with all those Amazonians after. And bring your phone! Menus are online. I ordered the Pho GA, or Chicken Pho. Really tasty, with tons of fresh ingredients. A colleague of mine ordered their vegetarian vermicelli, which looked really tasty and which she really enjoyed. I also had their fresh brewed ice tea, which was good.

Came across this resto from a friends recommendation! It's like a Vietnamese street food concept. I was excited to see they serve oxtail pho. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations from a couple of things: 1. They didn't really serve me oxtail but more like beef bone soup. There was thinly sliced beef to go with it but I was extremely disappointed that it was nice real oxtail. This was a serious blunder. I decided to just eat it coz I was a late lunch and I was getting hungry. 2. The broth was good but not exceptional. I was expecting more of the natural oxtail beef flavor but it was more flavored with seasoning. I also ordered the crispy imperial roll and this was the saving grace. It was bite sized, great crisp wrapper and the meat flavor was delightful. Came with the greens and dipping sauce. This is a must to try!!

I was staying in the area and stopped here to grab dinner. I sat at the bar and really enjoyed the food, drink & service! I had the Old Phosion to drink and was a little concerned about the taste of the Pho fat (but also intrigued). Turned out great, as did the food! Th environment is great to sit and eat with others or solo at the bar as I did.

A fun and affordable Asian fusion alternative located in the heart of Seattle's trendy South Lake Union neighborhood, Ba Bar South Lake, as this edition of the franchise is called, comes from the Saigon Siblings restaurant group, which in addition to their three locations of Ba Bar, they also own Monsoon Modern Vietnamese restaurants in the Seattle metropolitan area. With all this sparkling fusion fare in the Seattle region one would think the Banh family, who came from meager means from their native Vietnam to achieve one of the biggest success stories in all of Seattle with this ever-growing empire of restaurants, would be resting on their laurels. But thankfully, it seems like they have just gotten started with this second of three locations of this easily accessible modern Vietnamese restaurant and bar. With this location on the corner of Republican Street and Terry Avenue North, Ba Bar is thriving thanks to the continued construction of new towers of both homes, biotech and commerce throughout the entire neighborhood. What brought this nonlocal here for a delightful lunch session was a meeting with a friend who was in the South Lake Union neighborhood in which my hotel was located, and suggested we dine here as it was easy to walk to, and easy for them to park at. Upon entry one will notice the home of their cafe which also serves as the home of another of their spinoffs in Ba Bar Green, their plant-based grab and go storefront, their host station greets you, and I was directed to meet up with my friend in their back restaurant area behind a partition from their open kitchen and bar area. One thing that any visitor will notice is that this place is quite lively, which also means very loud so getting an intimate conversation with your dining mate is probably not going to happen. With a QR code for ordering your meal and beverage and pictures of their dishes on their website to look at, Ba Bar's menu is separated into sections including Starters & Salads, Specials, Slow Roasted Rotisserie, Vermicelli Noodles, Soup Noodles, and Sweets in addition to a full cocktail menu. Since I was actually quite famished and I wanted a nice sampling what their menu consists of, so I ordered their Combo Vermicelli Noodles, which was a Bún bowl that are served with a combination of vermicelli noodles, lettuce, bean sprout, cucumber, pickles, fresh herbs, peanut, crispy shallot, and aged Red Boat Fish Sauce nước chấm, in addition to their main ingredients of chicken thighs, shrimps, housemade beef and pork sausage, crispy pork & a sliced shrimp imperial roll. My dining mate was interested in their soup section of their menu, and ordered their Bún Bò Huế, which featured beef brisket, pork belly, pork shank, pork sausage, banana blossom, blood cake, shrimp sauce, and moc, which is a Vietnamese chicken sausage. It didn't take too long for our meal to be presented at our table, which either means their kitchen staff is super on top of things, or many of their menu items are pre-made and all it needs is quick preheat and assembly and it is ready to be served. Nevertheless what I had to eat was both flavorful and plentiful thanks to an abundance of fresh ingredients and a multitude of menu items all rolled into one dish. I especially loved the ability to try both their chicken thighs and beef and pork sausage and imperial rolls and rice noodles all in one dish. My friend's soup bowl was equally as large and plentiful with fresh authentic ingredients. Since we didn't order any drinks, our total bill turned out to be $40.83 before gratuity was added in, which was rather reasonable considering how much food we received upon this visit. Their Happy Hour menu which is offered six days a week from Mondays to Saturdays has me particularly interested with a return visit thanks to a number of reasonably priced cocktails, and a food menu that features no fewer than nine small bites items on this menu and does require an eight dollar minimum drink order. With smart and inviting business decisions that clearly are putting their customers first, why would I not want to make a return visit to this location and all of their other locations in the Seattle area because Ba Bar is a wonderful story that we all can take part in its success.

Hmm... Very hit or miss. There's better Viet food in Seattle. Our group of 4 walked in on a Monday afternoon and were seated immediately. PLANT BASED VIETNAMESE COFFEE: First time seeing this plant-based. Surprisingly good! Still creamy & aromatic. PAPAYA SALAD: Super balanced sweet and sour flavors. So delicious. Extra points for the fire tamarind dressing. BUN BO HUE: ........ Wat. The soup is just oily and spicy without any actual flavor. The blandness was so distracting that I kind of lost my appetite LOL. The meat and noodles were nowhere near as enjoyable bc the soup was so meh. On the other hand, my bf LOVED his vegetarian vermicelli. Said it was one of the best veggie soup options he's had. Maybe just don't get the bun bo hue? NOTE: The bathrooms are SOOO CLEAN. Honestly they deserve an extra star just for that

Great food, nice casual trendy vibe, attentive service, expected city prices. Pho Tai Lan was delicious and well-balanced with a medium spice. I felt it didn't need any fish sauce (served on the side), but I did enjoy the fresh lime juice. Pho Ha Noi had a nice doughnut addition though perhaps less meat than thr former. My family liked the Garlic Crab Noodle with egg (+$2.50), which was like cacio e pepe. The Saigon Singapore Noodle reminded be of a Vietnamese Pad Thai. My fam got a couple of pilsners and seemed content with the drink options. Service was attentive, with plenty of water refills. Price is fair for city prices. Darker wood vibe was nice; I actually liked that the high top stools had textured fabric on the seats. There was a moderate noise level. Only downside is that the dessert options were limited (only macarons and maybe madelienes except Sat and Mon they have a tasty-looking pandan cake). But it was okay because we were quite full after our entrees! Would be happy to bring others back here.

Came here two days in a row when I was in town on business. The bartender was super helpful and welcoming. He even suggested some dinner options. Normally when that happens I wonder. But he was spot on and also overheard him helping some customer by suggesting that he not order something he felt that they may not enjoy. My Mi Vit Tiem was fantastic. Great ambience, drink, and food. Thank you.

We are frequent customers at Ba Bar, and it's always a pleasure to dine here. Fantastic view and people watching when you sit next to the windows. Christine, our server, consistently provides exceptional service, making every visit memorable. The food never disappoints--whether it's the perfectly seasoned lemongrass rockfish with its savory turmeric flavoring paired with Nuoc cham or the fresh and pineapple shrimp salad, every dish is a delight. The house-made sodas are refreshing, and when it's happy hour, the experience is even better! Ba Bar is our go-to spot for a great meal, and we'll continue coming back. Highly recommend!

I've always been a Ba Bar fan and was excited to see that they're still going strong in Amazonia (aka South Lake Union). I was recently in town around lunchtime, while simultaneously looking to satisfy my noodle cravings, so I was more than eager to stop by. They were pretty busy when I arrived, but since I was solo I just sidled up to the bar for my lunch. I started with a lunchtime beer (because, why not?) while I perused the #noodlemenu. I settled on a hot bowl of their classic pho ha noi, which fit my mood perfectly. The broth was full of those classic Vietnamese flavors that make pho what it is, and it was served with a heap of noodles, tender slices of beef, and all the accoutrements (including a tiny bowl of pickled, spicy peppers that set the whole thing over the top). The atmosphere here is business casual, but I could see it also being a fun place for date night. The service was pretty good, although I did have to wait awhile to get my check (probably a disadvantage of sitting at the bar). I keep meaning to try their crab noodles - someday, someday!

So nice, ate here thrice. Working for the week in Seattle, I wasn't expecting to find Vietnamese food. We came here because, why not? Plus it has a full bar. Loved the Imperial rolls. The phở was delicious (different with a more concentrated broth and a much more manageable size than the mega gigantic bowls of broth that phở has become in America). The bún chả Hà Nội tasted like that of bún chả in Hà Nội, VN. The Chả cá Lã Vọng was also very much like Hà Nội with the exception of the extra butter. :P The duck was AMAZING. I really enjoyed the Old Pho-shun cocktail. Highly recommend. The bartender and servers were very friendly. The food at Ba Bar is more northern/northern style dishes which is refreshing. I'm from the San Francisco Bay Area (namely San Jose) and most of the Viet restaurants serve southern/southern style dishes. I grew up with northern style Viet food so I really appreciated the cuisine here at Ba Bar. Highly recommend.

Came here on a weekday evening with a friend and enjoyed it. The vibe is casual and the decor is cool - it doubles as both a cafe in front and restaurant elsewhere. As others have mentioned, this place gets busy on evenings - even during the weekdays - I suspect due to the close proximity of workspaces that probably come here after the day's done. We got a table of 2 and were seated after a few minutes. I got the Phở Tái Lăn with an egg ($19.50, he got the Phở Hà Nội ($17.50) and we got the Bún Chả Hà Nội ($19.50) to split. Each dish was unique and the broth for my dish had great flavor. I got to try part of the savory donut that my friend got and that was good, too! The service was good and the menus are QR-code based. I thought the prices were somewhat on the higher end for Pho but it is what it is. Total was $62.30 without tip.

This is a loud place, so if you don't like loud places I don't recommend. If you want a good drink I definitely advise ordering a shot on the side because the drinks are WEAK. The food is pretty good there. I am picky and I really enjoyed it. Overall it was a good night.

The restaurant is in a great location in the heart of bustling SLU. The place is very clean, the staff seem friendly. Service is okay but nothing great, they didn't check in for drink refills at all. Food is edible but far from the best Vietnamese nearby. I didn't find the pho that flavorful. The broath for the pho doesn't really taste like most pho broth and in my opinion didn't hit the mark. If you're specifically looking for pho I wouldn't place here very high on my Seattle list.

I've tried Ba Bar many times and I've never been disappointed! Today I tried their chicken wings and eggplants along with 2 cocktails. Chicken wings were crispy and flavorful. It was warm and tender inside. Roasted garlic is a nice touch. Eggplants were super flavorful with Chao sauce and green onion oil with mint on top. Flying lotus cocktail had star spice on it so if you don't like strong smelling spice, may not be for you. One time for your mind cocktail is matcha-based. It was a bit on the sweeter side, probably due to the honey whip. I loved it and would get this again. Service was fast and friendly. We were sat within 5 minutes on a Saturday night.

I went back three days in a row to try different dishes. These are the dishes for the second and the third day.. Pho Ha Noi is good! I would recommend this over the other Pho choices! Bun Bo hue: I ordered it without the pork knuckle or pork fatty. Just the beef and the pork "ball" or chå. The soup is not quite full flavor. Maybe a little short in the fish sauce. If you are not into fish sauce, then this is perfect.. it is well balance if you have the soup with the pork "ball".. plus, adding Thai chili is perfect. You will sweat due the spicy taste. The egg rolls appetizer is very good! Highly recommended! Even without dipping in the dish sauce due to how it is marinate. I was told the egg rolls are prepped daily in the morning for freshness. The restaurant has their own cocktail concoctions for customers to enjoy. Of course, you can order anything and they will be able to make them.. hence my Long Island, which is not on the menu but it is a common drink. It is good.! The staffs are very friendly with excellent service! Bao, Jessie, Diana, Mai Ly and Tu. The restaurant is very clean, even with a crowd. It's always crowded at dinner time during weekday. At least for the three days I've been there. Many customers are Amazon employees and their customers. Of course, Google is also nearby along with other tech companies within walking distance. I would definitely come back here multiple times on my next business trips to try other dishes . Why it's not a five star rating? It's mainly the dishes are good, but not quite there to be considered a five star. As you can see in my review, they do cut some corner in some of the ingredients such as lemongrass for a lemon grass dish.

In Chicago for work and my coworker recommended this place for dinner for us and she was right! Everything was cooked to perfection and had great flavors. Our server was attentive and friendly and gave a good recommendation on my drink (I'm sorry but I forgot the name of it). The broth they use for the garlic prawns is just perfect to dip the donut in they give you with it. We got the pork belly, prawns, noodles to all split and it was enough food for two. The times I've been they have been pretty busy but there has always been great seating and luckily no wait. It was a pretty chill vibe also seems like a good after work hang out for a quick bites but not sure if they have happy hour. I have also ordered take out their pho ga which I would get again too.

Curry. Laksa. Noodle. Soup. Omg this meal was incredible. We came at an off time (happy hour) and was able to score some high top seats near the bar. Note that there is a completely separate Ba Bar Green veg menu with some amazing options. My soup was warming and comforting on a cold day, with a toothsome mixture of greens, tofu skin, and perfectly cooked noodles. The broth was to die for. Husband also really enjoyed his Singapore noodles. Super cute spot to hang out!

More like 3.5/5!! My friend and I were craving Vietnamese food so we stopped by Ba Bar almost at their closing time. Most places in SLU close by 9PM and kitchen by 8.30PM on a weekday. Initially they hesitated but then instantly got us seated and asked us to order quick. On my friend's recommendation, I ordered pho ga tron. The rice noodles were fresh but it was made hurriedly. It was stuck to each other. But the flavors of the herbs like cloves and cinnamon paired with crunchy tastes of peanuts was delicious. It also comes with pork broth on the side. I can see how it has potential to be a very good dish but clearly it was prepared in rush. We also shared sai gon chicken wings. I wasn't a big fan of that as it had a very strong smell of fish sauce. However the cocktail that I ordered was a standout for me. Hoi An's golden hour was so goood. It was rum based refreshing and citrusy cocktail. I could also taste coffee beans. It was delightful. The ambiance is quite chill and casual. You'd see people mostly coming in after a work day. The server was full of energy, recommended the drink and was super sweet. I guess that's why I added the extra star in my rating. I'd probably give it another chance for food sometime in future!

Ba Bar has locations in South Lake Union (with a Ba Bar Green to-go stand!), Capitol Hill, and University District. We dined at the SLU location, which is very convenient on weekends or weekdays after 4pm due to free parking in the Amazon garages. (Park at Rufus or Arizona!) We just missed happy hour, but it's okay, because there is an $8 minimum drink order to order happy hour food items, which is somewhat strange to me. We tried a few items, the new menu item Cơm Gà Hội An, which is a steamed chicken with tumeric rice and a side of chicken broth, the brisket pho, the chicken wings (if you really love the wings, go on Mondays and Tuesdays for a great deal!) and the garlic crab noodles. The wings taste great but are a little pricy for the amount you get. The my partner really enjoyed his Cơm Gà Hội An and I loved the chicken broth. It tasted like radish too, I think. Service was good, and menus are QR-code based. It wasn't very busy when we got there so we were seated right away. They leave us containers of water so we can self-refill. Overall, a decent upscale Vietnamese place.

Great spot in University Village for a quick meal! The portions are generous, and the sauce for the noodles is very flavorful. I stopped by on a weekday afternoon and found it easy to get seated in a quiet, lovely atmosphere. Parking is a plus, and the staff are friendly too.

We were visiting the South Lake Union area when we wanted to stop somewhere for lunch first. A colleague had previously recommended Ba Bar, which was close by so we decided to give it a try. First, we neglected to see the sign our front that their dishwasher wasn't working, so we quickly learned we would be eating out of take out containers without proper tableware. So that changed what we initially wanted to order. We ended up trying the following: - Sai Gon Chicken Wings - Very good. Meaty, juicy, and full of flavor. - Pho Tai Nam - Good. Good quality beef. Seems a bit expensive for what we got though. - Combo Vermicelli Noodles - Good. Pretty standard offering. It was good, but not special. - Passionate Pandan Cake - Excellent. The surprise hit of the meal. Very light, not too sweet. I considered getting a 2nd slice. Service was friendly, but given how quiet the day was, surprising slow and inattentive. Lots of waiting after finishing our meal and to get the bill. Overall, not bad. It's a nice looking space. Some good food, but service could've been much better. I'd rate around 3.5 out of 5.

A surprisingly superb experience! I found out about this spot through a recommendation and never really thought to come dine here until then. I've seen it a few times from the outside, but I can now confirm that it's an absolutely wonderful spot to dine in. We came for Thursday night football, but unfortunately they weren't showing it on their TVs. However, we were still able to get seated at a large table and watch it on our laptops anyways haha. The server came around soon after and we got our orders taken quickly. Service was SO fast and we literally got our food around 5 minutes after we ordered it -- and you could tell that it was still freshly made! Amongst the two of use we decided to split the chicken wings, lemongrass beef noodle salad, and lemongrass rockfish rice plate. All three items were fantastic and so delicious! The lemongrass beef itself was soo flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and the noodle salad itself had so many components with such a generous portion. The rice they gave with the rockfish was also so yummy -- I believe it was broken rice? Nonetheless, the fish was cooked pretty well and they also gave a good portion of veggies on the side. Finally, the chicken wings were also delicious. They were coated in a sweet and savory and scrumptious sauce that makes you keep wanting more. Overall, we had great service, great food, and a wonderful experience! I would definitely be back to try more of their menu :)

I enjoyed the food and experience! Group of 5 were seated Monday evening in 20 min and service was quite fast. I was recommended the garlic crab noodles by our waiter from Saigon who was really nice and gave us free macarons. I would like to come again. Definitely getting Bún Chả Hà Nội the next time I come. Garlic Crab Noodle: 4/5. Fried eggs was a really nice touch. The noodles do get a little heavy/salty after a while. Bún Chả Hà Nội: 5/5. Sooo good I enjoyed everything on the plate including the sides. Bún Bò Huế: 3/5. Was okay but broth needs improvement, I wouldn't order it in the future. Macarons: 3/5. Some parts were hard, I enjoyed them but I wouldn't order it in the future.

My friend got some dental work done and I wanted her to have some Pho considering the poor thing had her face swollen and with the rain we wanted to stay indoor have have Pho for takeout. I hardly use Uber Eats and wanted to do something nice for her. For the price and the portions I swear this is the worst Pho place I have ever ordered from in the 14 years I have been in Seattle. Thank goodness my friend had extra stock and Pad Thai noodles, we made it work out and lesson learned, I simply will never order from this place. It simply sucks when you order from a place and you end up having to cook on the side because the restaurant was extremely stingy with their portions My bill was $100 for 3 pho's. Do yourself a favor and please take your business somewhere else.

Great service, good, and ambiance. I came in at for dinner and tried their vegan soy wraps that did not disappoint. My partner ordered the brisket pho, which was equally flavorful. The food tasted fresh and was filling. (Not too filling, just right.) I ordered a Vietnamese tea with almond milk and less sweet. It was good. Just right. The service was friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Would definitely return. I do wish there were more vegan options, but super happy with what they had.

We came here after the escape room on the other side of the building- wow we're gonna make it a tradition for sure, because the food is SO good here. And the portions are pretty big! The flavors are all really on point and with ingredients that are traditional (because I didn't recognize them haha). The drink I ordered was also tasty!!

Great spot for casual food and drinks at the South Lake location! There was a slight wait for 4 on a Thursday evening at 6pm due to larger corporate groups, but we were able to get a table in 20-30 minutes. Service was quick and friendly - I highly recommend trying out one of their many, interesting cocktails! All the food we ordered was delicious, so I don't think you can go wrong with any choice!

While in Seattle for work I visited this place twice! Pretty busy spot with lots of friendly locals. I'll be back. Good options for vegetarian meals.

Pho was good, but don't tell People you close at 9 to rush them out. You take orders until 9, not get the hell Out by 9.

A solid Vietnamese spot. I went on a Monday and just tried their chicken wings special, where you get a good deal for the wings with the purchase of a drink. The wings were pretty normal, and the service is ok, but the overall vibe of the restaurant is very nice. A fun spot to check out if you're curious, I'd love to try more of the menu next time

Location is very convenient at SLU area at least for my lunch or dinner, however, before pandemic Ba Bar is a great place to-go and dine-in for nearly a decade. Now, it's another worse restaurant around Seattle as fancy ambiance as bad food and attitude service Y'all can have, along with asking fees for wrong packages, higher gratuity My orders were so wrong and I really don't even know what I had. First of all, the Pho flavors weren't there anymore, it tasted like regular beef broth from supper market, all the condiments were thrown under the bowl of Pho Togo including a wedge of lime, a whole branch of Basil and jalapeño...etc,. And rare beef slices juiced soak into noodles, just lost appetite, even asked them to cooked the rare beef on the side note. Experience that before so asking many times, still not doing it. Second, Com Ga Hội A was very disappointed, missed a lot of umami. I'm not recommending this place anymore since I had been here for many years and tried most of the dishes. I'm rather drive to Renton Bistro or Lemongrass.

You can eat here if you want. The pho is standard but I recommend asking for extra sriracha because its not on the table. A woman came into the restaurant last night and physically pushed me. When I talked to the manager, he told me there was already an incident report and he was worried about the expense of the incident because some property was damaged. I had to ask for a refund and he did apply it.

The chicken salad is p good w a blend of veggies including cabbage basil peanuts purple cabbage shallot banana leaves. Nicely seasoned as well. The chicken portion is a small given the price. Service is non existent they were basically neglecting me the whole time and I had to get up to find a server to order. The ambiance is ok.

Wish I would've taken a photo of my food, but I was so hungry and it arrived so quickly after excellent service amid a flurry of lunch rush diners that I just dived in! W O W! Their food is so good! The service was fast and efficient! After the Amazon rush leaves, the Ba Bar gets more relaxed. I will return a lot! I can't wait to try everything on their menu!

Cool spot for Vietnamese food in SLU with a lively atmosphere. The cocktail menu features lots of great options that you won't find just anywhere. The Sài Gòn chicken wings were crispy & juicy with a great balance of sweet and spicy. The lemongrass beef was also a great blend of flavors and a fairly healthy option as well. Lots of GF options, friendly service, and reasonable prices - I'll be back!

If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese food, I don't think Ba Bar is the place. However, if you're looking for clean Vietnamese foods, great drinks with a Saigon vibe, it's perfect. I love stopping by for dinner after a long, hectic day. The restaurant is clean and offers great customer service. I always get seated right away with a warm welcome from the staff. The portion size is sufficient for one person. Plus, 100/10 for the music.

Have been here a few times as it's close to the office. It can be hit or miss on the quality of food but essentially they are very quick to serve you. I do wonder if things like the imperial rolls are par cooked as sometimes they are great and others just ok.

Customer service was great and staff were super friendly. Food wise I would never order their pho again. The pho oxtail felt like it was doused in oyster sauce ? The pho tai nam brother was less potent and better but both had noodles that were bad quality. But I do think their noodle plates and other stuff are good so just don't order any pho! I will say the meat quality in my oxtail pho was very good but because that was all I ate I was very dissatisfied and ended up getting a macaroon from their pastry section. Again please save yourself and don't get it. It was like 8$ for three pieces and macaroons are supposed to to be easy to chew and..it was not easy to chew..

At best reasonable in form of a takeout but not as good as one would have expected from the prior ratings. The Pho Tai Nam was lukewarm (can be forgiven for a takeout) but really very boring and lacking any pep and flavors (cannot be forgiven). The Sai Gon Wings did not compensate, were flat, lacked tenderness. Ok at least I got 2 experiences in one - the first and the last at the same time.

Servers were friendly and answered our questions with a smile. Food was great! Happy hour prices can be beat.

This place is always crazy crowded - but for good reason! Whenever I walk by, I see packed tables, and often times a line out the door. I've been here a couple of times, but have only waited 5-10 minutes to get seated. They have a lot of tables so turnover is pretty quick. Food: Ordered the vermicelli combo and it was great! They gave a very good balance of protein, noodles, vegetables, and sauce. Would order again. Service: Service is okay. It takes a while to get their attention for any help. They do have a lot of people to tend to though, so I guess they have an excuse. Ambiance: There always so many people, so it's very lively, which I love. If it's popular, they're doing something right!

Ba Bar is a Vietnamese restaurants that has an innovative takes on traditional recipes. You can find classic dishes like pho, Bún bowls / vermicelli noodles & Sài Gòn Chicken Wings on the menu. On Mondays & Tuesdays they have Wing specials - 10 Wings for $9, but you have to order a drink. The wings are sauced up with nước chấm (fish sauce) so very flavorful! Service was pretty good here, the staff is friendly, attentive, and always willing to make recommendations or accommodate any dietary restrictions. The atmosphere here is welcoming and decorated nicely, we were sat in the back of the restaurant so it was quieter. It was the perfect place to relax, catch up and enjoy a meal with my cousins. I ordered the combo vermicelli noodles for $19. The portion was decent, the noodles were chewy and perfect texture, the chicken thigh was cooked nicely and not dry, but I wasn't a super fan of the house made beef & pork sausage. Overall, a fun, trendy place to go and get Vietnamese food, but priced a bit higher than your typical Vietnamese restaurants.

Seeing a lot of reviews about undercooked meat and "white washed" food. I'm speaking as a South East Asian person who grew up in the Bay Area that this is the best Vietnamese restaurant I have had. Yes, if you order noodle soup dishes, your beef is going to be raw. That's just how it's served at any authentic Vietnamese place you go. I haven't been back to Ba Bar is since years since I moved out of Seattle. Came back today and I was soooo incredibly satisfied. The flavors were on point and my oh my it was just SO delicious. Fish sauce and more fish sauce please!! I could eat here everyday if I lived here. I just rolled my pork, garlic, peppers, and noodles in the lettuce leaf and nom nom nom'd. The soup was nice and helped balanced out the spiciness of the peppers.

The worst service I've ever experienced. -After entering and waiting a while by the "wait for host" sign, a guy comes up chewing his gum with his mouth opened and holds up two fingers. We say "yes, two people" assuming that's what he meant and he points us to follow him without a single word -he seats us in the small high table clearly for drinks then leaves. We have to ask someone else if we can sit at one of the many empty tables (and we do) -the first guy comes to our new table (no hello or introduction still) and after taking our order just asks "so are you guys going to be here til 6?" We're taken aback and look at the current time (little past 5) and answer maybe/we're not sure and then he explains that they have a large group coming in then and have to kick us out. Then clarifies he'll have to move us to a different table. We tell him we'll move now. The last part all happens while he's fixing his pants and retucking his shirt in front of us. We honestly should have left at this point but we were just so confused at this interaction and weren't thinking clearly. And I'm pretty certain he's the manager because he was dressed differently than other waiters and was at the bar on his laptop. He had someone else bring out our food and give us the bill and never checked on our table again. I don't think this was just us because once we moved to our new table (our third one) we could hear the people next to us complain about the unprofessionalism of the staff

First of all really like our waiter. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. As a pescatarian, I really enjoyed the fact that they had a separate plant based menu. Although I did end up ordering the lemongrass rockfish. It was a generous portion and tasty. It came with a tomato tamarind soup of the side, which I was not the biggest fan of, but I just don't love tamarind. Overall fun vibe, good food, and would recommend. Get there for happy hour if you can. They have a decent cocktail menu!
