"Wine and Olive Oil Tasting Near Lucca The area of gently rolling hills just to the northeast of Lucca is famous not only for its impressive villas, but also for olive oil and wine. A perfect gastronomic stop-off between visits to the magnificent Villa Mansi and Villa Torrigiani, the 30-hectare farm estate Colle di Bordocheo produces both, and offers tastings and tours for visitors. Estate wines such as the complex, spicy Picchio Rosso (a blend of sangiovese, merlot, and cabernet grapes) and the white Bianco dell'Oca (chardonnay, vermentino, sauvignon) marry well with the house extra virgin and platters of local cheeses and foccaccie . Book ahead and you can add lasagne and cold cuts to the basic €15 per head package, making a fine, rustic lunch. There are also apartments for rent on the estate, which lies in a strategic position for visits to the coast, the lush, mountainous Garfagnana region, Florence , and, of course, Lucca."

Our family of 30 visited Colle di Bordocheo this past summer for an afternoon of touring the vineyard and a delicious lunch tasting. We enjoyed our tour from beginning to end as Antonella was so personable, knowledgeable and engaging. In fact it was clear how passionate the entire staff is about their wine and olive oil. All the wine and olive oil tastings, plus the food pairings, were wonderful! Colle di Bordocheo is a short trip from Lucca and highly recommended!

Great winery. Fantastic host who as super knowledgeable and friendly. Great tour with rich history. We had an amazing lunch that was paired with all the wine we tried. The virgin oil tasting was pretty cool too. The wine was good. They ship to the US. Shipping was more expensive than the wine but if you like the wine it’s worth the the price.

The tour of the vineyards and tasting was an amazing experience! The olive oil and wine were the best that my husband and I have ever had, and the food they served in between the samplings was incredibly delicious. The tour guide was so kind and welcoming, and you can tell that he is very passionate about his family business's craft and the art/science of making olive oil and wine. If you have time to do one sightseeing experience while visiting Lucca, this would be the place I would recommend you try! It is also a very romantic idea for an excursion for when you are on your honeymoon.

Antonella gave us a great walk through the olive and wine vineyards. Lot’s of information. We had an olive tasting and 5 wines. Accompanied with good food. Bruschetta, focaccia, cheese, pasta 😋😋. Price quality is great.

Amazing experience visiting the estate, very interesting tour and wonderful wine tasting set in a beautiful location. We were lucky to have a private wine tasting due to the time we booked having no other visitors which made the whole experience even more special. Very tasty wines and the best oil. Highly recommend booking if you are visiting Lucca.

We were guests of Barbara last year in August for a guided tour or tasting and had booked the whole thing via Airbnb. The tour through the winery and the tasting of wine and olive oil were excellent. Barbara and her staff speak very good English and are very nice. For example, the winery is relatively small compared to wineries in the Chianti region. But it is easy to get to and you have a beautiful view Over Lucca and the mountains all around. And small doesn't mean it's bad. :-) At the tasting, olive oil with bread, two white wines, one rosé and three red wines are served with small typical Tuscan dishes. At the end you get an apiritive wine and a typical dessert. Everything was very tasty and we bought some wine and olive oil afterwards. All in all, we were there for at least two hours instead of the planned 90 minutes. We liked it very much, also the other guests seemed to be satisfied. Although we met nice people there. 100% to recommend!
