This one was a recommendation from a local guide. Seating is really tight. It’s basically an old house courtyard. Hard to find if you aren’t familiar or using maps. Even with maps, it puts you outside the door but it doesn’t look like a restaurant entrance. The waiters were all business. The food however was pretty good. The mead was excellent.

So good. We got there around 7 and got right in. It’s small, so there will be a wait at peak times. We got a Greek salad and a sampler for 2 which was perfect size for us. It was our last night in Greece and I’m glad it was here. It is a place where locals go. They are visiting and having fun. It is not a quiet romantic place, but a place to enjoy the fun living people of Greece and their good food.

When we arrived, we noticed a long queue outside the restaurant, and our curiosity got the best of us. After waiting 45 minutes, we finally got in—and it was absolutely worth it! This was the best meal we had in Athens. The fried pork is a MUST-order! We also loved the charming, run-down backyard table setup, which added to the authentic experience. The service was quick and efficient. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food. We found this place by accident and we were blown away. Super quick service. Kind staff and most importantly, fantastic food. The fried pork is out of this world. A hearty meal that's beautifully complimented with citrus flavors. Have it with some wine in a tin mug and you've got a winning meal.

Authentic Greek food served at the courtyard of Avli is the best experience to have whenever you and your friends, family, and relatives are in Athens. A house vibe will transfer you back to way how meals had been enjoyed from Greeks with such of simplicity and purity. A small menu of the most popular dishes gives you a choice that actually is enough to fulfill your hungriness. The place is really busy, no matter the time, and as a customer we all give enough time to waitress to take orders. Kindness and polite attitude will be used from the front staff to make your experience great and in need if you need an explanation regarding the food as well. Highly recommendation here is not necessary to be said, coz it is like a order to visit it. A huge thank you to all staff of Avli that makes incredible experience and enjoying a food journey to all customers.

Tucked inside a small alley way. I really like the design inside, feels very cozy and at home. I only got the Greek Salad which I enjoyed. The staff are very friendly too, always plenty of smiles when talking to their customers. However, the service speed definitely slow during the busy hours, probably due to shortage of staff. I was only given the menu after sitting down for 5 minutes, which is really awkward since the staffs are so busy serving previous customers. Overall it's still a positive experience and I will still recommend this place to others.

We waited for 10 minutes but people are coming and going. We haven’t been waiting for food for long time, it came quickly. Food was great, even though combination of meat and omelette was little bit strange. Everything was tasteful. Decent prices.

A particular place: an elongated courtyard. The food was good, but the plates are small, so you'll need to order at least two per person, so it's not a cheap place. We ordered the feta cheese (€4), vine leaves stuffed with rice (€6) and fried pork (€7) with one beer (€3.5) and wine mead (€4), so we ended up paying $25.5, and we were not full. If you are looking for a cheap place, maybe this is not the place for you, but if you're not on a budget, I'll definitely recommend it.
