Avista was the perfect choice for our last lunch of 2024! From the moment we arrived, the service stood out—our server kindly offered to take my coat, a thoughtful and unique gesture in Madeira. The breathtaking view from the restaurant added an extra layer of magic to the experience, making it truly unforgettable. The food was an absolute delight, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We had a fantastic time and couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the year. Highly recommended!

Fine dining in a beautiful location. The view from the terrace is breathtaking! The courses were tasty, creative and beautifully arranged. Interesting flavor combinations and a great variety of textures. Definitely recommend coming here for lunch to enjoy the full potential of the sea view! The price is also reasonable and the service was lovely!

Nice view if you have the luck to get a table at the seafront. They don‘t reserve a specific table for you, their hotel guests always come first. Nevertheless we still got the desired table :) All was very good, including the cocktails and the birthday song which was sung by the waiter :) Food was delicious, portions big enough. Especially the fish was delicious, but also the beef tartar. Very nice evening :) Thank you

We arrived early to take advantage of the lovely view and drinks menu. We were shown to a table and comfy chairs right by the sea. Drinks order taken and served very professionally with added information regarding bottle of wine ordered- very useful😊we were then taken to our dining table and given menus. The service over the whole meal was exemplary, attending to wobbly table and lighting. Food delicious but chicken dish was just too large. We had to bring home. All in all very enjoyable evening with great family ambience. Well done!

While the food was excellent, and the view was breathtaking, the service left much to be desired. It was quite slow, with a long wait for drinks and an even longer one for the main course. The waiters seemed to be very relaxed and sometimes inattentive. However, we want to express our gratitude to the restaurant manager, who truly stood out. He appeared to be the only one actively managing the situation, ensuring all the guests received attention. Despite how busy it was, he went above and beyond by taking the time to print a coloring book for our daughter, which made her very happy. This thoughtful action made a big difference - thank you for that! With some improvements in service, this could be an exceptional dining experience!

Incredible service and food. We had a special request which they were more than happy and excited to accommodate and helped create a beautiful moment to find out the gender of our baby. A wonderful evening from start to finish, the cocktails in the lounge were delicious with a stunning view. All dishes we had were bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. Generous portions. We couldn't have asked for a better setting for such a special moment.

Great service, great restaurant and good quality food at Avista Restaurant. I had a minor issue with my food (which tasted amazing but had a tiny piece of metal in it) and the waiter Sr TIAGO took care of it immediately and offered me a new plate and free dessert. This is the true Michelin experience, the attention to detail and the quality of everything that touched my palate tonight was top tier. Gorgeous restaurant with amazing views. Excellent service and fantastic food. What more can you ask for? Highlights include the beef tartare, croquettes and the duck. We went for lunch, made a reservation an hour before seating and the restaurant was completely empty and we got one of the best seats on the terrace. The cocktails were fantastic, my favorite being one of the signature cocktails Calheta Sour. The service was fine for Madeira standards, which can notoriously be slow. Would come back for dinner if we had more time on the island
