"What for years was a run-down and, many said, ill-humored and not-so-good cantina has been tendered a complete cute-ification and transformed into Delirio Pushkin, the latest addition to chef Mónica Patiño’s line of beautiful Delirio gourmet shops and cafés. While certain of the former barroom’s culinary specialties have been carried over to the new menu, Patiño has broadened and deepened the offering, with lots more salads and small plates as well as an insistence on first-order ingredients and from-scratch cooking techniques. Dishes served take inspiration from the Mediterranean, part of a menu that will change seasonally; current faves include the beet salad with dill, a lamb moussaka, and a falafel sandwich. The grilled cheese-and-carnitas sandwich attracts passionate followers."
