"Classic Hong Kong Eats Local residents lead cosmopolitan lives, but their appetites never weaken for recipes reminiscent of Old Hong Kong . Hong Kong-style cafes, or “cha chaan tengs,” are loved for their eclectic menus, which, aside from casual Hong Kong dishes, also offer Hong Kong-Style Western cuisine. They are best for quick and affordable meals like fried noodles and classics like baked porkchop rice. For breakfast, the Australia Dairy Company in Yau Ma Tei has best scrambled eggs on toast in town. (Their secret ingredient? Canned cream soup.) At Central’s famed Tsui Wah, pair a beef brisket curry with rice with the signature Hong Kong drink “yeen yeung,” a mixture of coffee and milk. Grab a fresh egg tart for dessert and you’re good to go."

A renowned local eatery which we went to for an afternoon snack. We did not have to wait for a table, perhaps it was not peak time (Sunday afternoon). They have an English menu, just ask for it when you get a table. We ordered yin-yeung (milk tea + coffee) and shared an egg sandwich (bread toasted). The egg is generous, and bread is nice and thick. We followed up with peanut butter toast. The staff were very busy but polite (I had read about some rudeness but did not experience this). The set menus seem very popular and I’d like to try one of these next time.

Google
Go for the scramble egg sandwich & milk pudding. Its worth the queue. The queue move pretty fast.Don’t be discourage with the long queue. Many commented that they are rude. But actually you just need to be quick in ordering and leave once you finish your food. I would advise you to go through the menu here and decide ahead so that the moment you get a seat, you can straight order the food. The service is pretty quick as well.

Every time I come back to Hong Kong, this is a must-eat. If you go during off-peak hours, you can walk right in without waiting. The food always comes super fast, as usual, but this time, the waiter even brought me a little stool just to put my bag on. Since when did the service get this good? So touched!

Sueki L

Google
Authentic local diner experience offering traditional Hong Kong style milk tea, steamed milk/egg pudding and buttery egg sandwich. It gets crowded on the weekend and they might seat you with other diners. They offer an English menu upon request. Must try and highly recommend.

Google
I went at opening time and despite there being ample seating available, I was ordered to sit right literally next to a stranger. The scrambled egg was pretty buttery and tasty, though a bit on the oiler side. The milk tea was nice and smooth. Service is subpar and you are expected to leave immediately after you’re done. I was so surprised to see the number of staff around. It almost seemed like they had more staff than customers at the time I was there.

Google
The steamed milk pudding with egg white is on the sweeter side, but it’s perfectly balanced and not overly rich. Enjoying it warm is incredibly comforting, leaving your throat pleasantly soothed. The Hong Kong-style buttered French toast is absolutely delicious—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The lemon tea is also delightful and refreshing.

Google
童年的味道! Simple food to fill your tummy. Although there was a long queue, we were seated rather quickly. Be prepared to share tables. Service was good but the place was super busy and noisy. Good for a quick bite! The egg with bread was rather good. If you can't take sweet stuff, remember to request for beverages to be made less sweet,

Google
Friend recommended this place. There was a long queue but we managed to skip a few people as a table for 3 was available after a short while. The milk pudding (white one) was so yummy. We also love their toast and eggs. Many staff and they work efficiently as a team to clear tables fast.

Yelp
The platonic ideal of a cha chaan teng. Basics perfected with no fuss or frills in a bustling restaurant packed to the brim with happy people. Scrambled eggs, toast, milk tea, and macaroni soup, all simple but perfected.

Yelp
The hype is real, I've heard many good things about them so my expectations were high. Australia Dairy Company is a very popular cha chaan teng among locals and tourists. I arrived around 8 AM and a small line had already formed. Luckily, we were able to get seated quickly but after we left, the line extended to the street block. Similar to other cha chaan tengs, you will likely get seated with other patrons since they try to seat people right when a spot becomes available. The service is also very fast paced, so make sure to know what you want to order ahead of time. I got the breakfast set which comes with scrambled eggs and toast, ham macaroni soup, and Hong Kong milk tea. In addition, I also ordered the steamed egg pudding since I heard it was delicious. The scrambled eggs were so delicious, I wished I ordered more! Each bite was bristling with flavors and it went well with the toast. The ham macaroni soup was very delicious and filled with flavor as well. I enjoyed the steamed egg pudding, I would recommend sharing this since the rest of the set was already a lot of food. Overall, I really enjoyed breakfast at Australia Dairy Company and would say that they are a must try for anyone visiting Hong Kong!

Yelp
Arrived on a Monday at 745am and was second in line. I was seated right away since I was by myself. I was seated with three other strangers, which is all part of the HK culture. I ordered the breakfast combo for 48HKD... Which came with two toast that are laced with butter. The waiter asked if you want the eggs scrambled or fried. I picked fried. Should of picked scrambled. You can pick coffee drink or tea drink and I asked for an iced Hong Kong milk tea. You have to pay extra two hkd for iced drinks. The combo also came with a ham macaroni soup. The food came right away since they want you to eat and leave. Half way into the meal the waiter brought over the milk tea. My favorite was the toast.. so simple yet so good. It's like crack! Waiter then brought wrote how much you need to pay on a piece of paper and you bring it to the counter in the front to pay. Simple fast and decent meal.

Andrea L.

Yelp
Excellent HK-style cafe. Both egg custards were really good, super smooth. The scrambled eggs were super smooth. The mac and ham soup was standard to what I've had elsewhere. But overall I could see why this place is so popular -- very solid HK cafe. Service was standard average what you would expect in HK, no surprises there.

Yelp
Australia Dairy Company (澳牛) is the place I miss the most in Hong Kong. It is the iconic cha chaan tang known for their classic breakfast sets, sandwiches, traditional desserts, and SPEEDY SERVICE. It is extremely popular among both locals and tourists and there's always a long line. Trust their efficiency and don't be scared by the crowd--even there was at least 20 parties in front of us, our wait was only 15 min on a weekend morning for three people. The wait would be even shorter for two people. Kind reminder: decide what to order before you get in. The server will immediately take your order once your butt touches the seat LOL. *Egg and Corned Beef Sandwich 蛋牛治 Scrambled egg is an absolute must get. Their chefs are skillful in cooking the eggs to perfection--fluffy, creamy and literally slipping into your throat. They don't add any heavy cream or milk to the egg. It has the perfect corned beef-to-egg ratio, while the toast is fluffy with a toasted surface. *Tea Set: Toast with Scrambled Eggs 快餐:牛油多士、炒蛋、熱奶茶 The thinly sliced toasts are spread with butter and toasted to a golden hue. It is even more buttery and crispier than the sandwich. Their HK style milk tea is legit with the right amount of bitterness and creaminess. *Steamed Milk Pudding w. Egg White 蛋白燉鮮奶 I have never tried a steamed milk pudding better than the one served here in my life. It is extra soft, smooth and silky. They only serve two cantonese desserts on their menu: steamed milk or steamed egg puddings. Both options are 1000/10.

Yelp
Very good! However this place expect to wait, line is long, services is a rush. Hard to understand what they say is Chinese or English. Crowd old restaurant decorations. Order comes out very fast. Excellent food, I recommend the almond steam egg

Selena C.

Yelp
Who care if the lines are long when the turnover rate for tables is so high? There's a good chance you'll have to share a table but that's expected here. Didn't have too much of a problem ordering. Maybe they've gotten used to tourists coming and break it down to bare bones. All you have to do is point to the breakfast set and they ask you for scrambled eggs or not, and the choice of drink. Ez. Classic hk ambiance in there. There's a good mix of locals and tourists. Besides the classic breakfast, would recommend the steamed milk pudding because that's the smoothest i've ever had. wish i got more

Kate C.

Yelp
You really need to know what you want to order when you sit down because this is a fast paced environment. People eat quickly and get out. It's so fast that the servers tend to forget who got served what. Sometimes the drink doesn't come and you have to remind them. The scrambled eggs as people have mentioned were super juicy. The macaroni soup is so much more flavorful than in Vancouver places. Almond tea was kind of flavorless and just very milky.

Leanna L.

Yelp
Cheap and quick! If you want to stop by and try their double layer milk desserts or lunch items, highly recommend! Their egg sandwich was delicious and fluffy. Milk teas were standard and hit the spot as well. Lines can look long but it goes by quick. Service is as expected - quick and curt, but this is because they are working at full capacity most of the time. Cash only as well.

Dub C.

Yelp
Seriously wtf do pple like about here? Some of my homies love coming here every time we are in Hk then they complain when we finish. Luke warm macaroni soup! Tasteless toast with scrambled egg! Get treated like crap by the male waiters that don't have the time or day , that look like get don't want to be here! If you want to start your day off on a bad note or feeling pissed off ...low n behold please come here and stand in the queue

Hung-Hei Y.

Yelp
I usually go here at least once each time I am in Hong Kong. The go to here is the amazing egg sandwich. The eggs are amazingly creamy and flavorful - I could never figure out their secret recipe. I usually get the set breakfast that also comes with a macaroni soup. Don't be turned off by the long line. It moves fast. That said, there is a reason it moves fast so when it's your turn, know that it's not a place to linger and have a conversation. The service is legendary for being a little rude, so make sure you do your research ahead of time as to what to order, keep you head down, and leave in a timely manner haha.

Kevin E.

Yelp
So overrated and overhyped for no reason! There's absolutely no reason you need to wait on a long line to then be shoved into a small table with strangers in a chaotic environment just to eat food that you can easily make at home. I mean it's just ham and macaroni soup and eggs with toast. Nothing special at all and a complete waste of time. We also got the steamed egg with almond but found the one at Yee Shun to be much better. The way they handle orders is also questionable...seems like they just write some random amount on a piece of paper when you ask for the check...SKIP!

Kristine L.

Yelp
Even on a Thursday after the morning rush at 10am there was still a long line but they are super efficient! We also luckily got seated at a 2 seater instead of being crammed with strangers which is a possibility for your party as they will maximize space and seats. My advice is try to plan what you're going to order ahead of time cuz they move super fast. Almost an impatient attitude if you need time. This is not a leisure hang out type of cafe. Name of game is order, eat, pay and get out. We ordered one of each of their famous egg puddings cold cuz it was so hot outside. I actually preferred the egg white and my friend liked the egg yolk one so it worked out, but both were silky smooth and very refreshing. We also shared some scrambled eggs non toast and French toast. The French toast was great although it wasn't the one with peanut butter inside but it was battered outside. Very fresh and lightly crispy, delicious smothered in syrup and butter. Eggs were creamy but not too runny which is how I prefer it. If you're a foreigner you may find the service off putting but in HK it's all about turning tables over and efficiency so just keep that in mind.

Celina N.

Yelp
Make sure to come early because it gets busy, but the line does go by pretty fast. I ordered their breakfast set, which included a HK milk tea, toast w/ scrambled eggs & ham, & macaroni w/ ham in chicken soup. The scrambled eggs are creamy, silky and packed with a lot of flavor (it's not like regular eggs, i swear it's like they put crack in there). Everything else from the breakfast set was okay. I also ordered the steamed milk pudding and that was sooooo good.

Christina L.

Yelp
Australia Dairy Company trended all over social media for their scrambled eggs toast and mango pudding. I'm not usually a fan of mainstream restaurants but I decided to give it a try. The wait can be LONG and bad but trust me, these workers move FAST so you'll get in sooner than you think. When my family and I arrived, we were lucky and got seated right away. Immediately once you sit down, the waiter asks you what you want to order so you literally have zero to no time to decide. If you don't speak Cantonese, I'd recommend checking out the menu and knowing what you want to order in advance so you won't feel overwhelmed. The service is rude but it's mainly because they want to serve you right away as there's a lot of people waiting. Honestly, the eggs are life changing as they're really soft and fluffy. However, I didn't think it was worth the hype. The mango pudding on the other hand blew my mind. If I were to come back, I'd probably only get the mango pudding.

Yelp
A very famous local cafe that serve hong kong style breakfast: toast, scrambled eggs, soup macaroni. Signature dishes also include egg custard and milk pudding. I love their custards and pudding. Their scrambled eggs are also the best I have had. Super light, fluffy and very eggy. Toast is very simple but don't know how they could make it so tasty. Chat siu macaroni soup is not special at all so I think if you don't have much room then this is the dish to skip. SERVICE: this is not a place for you to enjoy food and chit chat. Their staff are known to be rude. They even scold diners for taking their time to order and eat. I got scolded because I was thinking if I wanted scrambled eggs or fried eggs lol. You even hear them cussing all the time. But it's probably better if you speak English lol. There's always a long line but don't worry their service is super fast. It takes less than 10 minutes from the time you sit down to pay your bill. Food is already on the table few seconds after you place your order. And it's super crowded inside you definitely don't wanna hang out there. I didn't even take pictures of my food as I was rushing to finish my food lol.

Katie B.

Yelp
This spot is definitely super popular--we showed up at 10am on the Friday between Christmas and New Year's, and waited about half an hour, but the food is so good!! We did the breakfast set with scrambled eggs, and the soup was good, but the eggs were really incredible. The inside is a really fun throwback. The service is fast paced (except for figuring out how to pay) and the quarters are cramped, but we would definitely come back again! I can see how some might think this place is overrated, but I think it deserves the hype.

Sharon L.

Yelp
Had to come to the famed Australia Dairy Company to start off our HK trip! I've heard many good things about ADC, and it introduced us to the HK cafe culture. The lines out front look intense, but the wait wasn't long at all. ADC knows how to get people in and out - we received our orders within a minute of ordering (not an exaggeration). No pleasantries are exchanged here - it's a no frills experience. The macaroni here is quite tasty, and portions are MASSIVE. Scrambled eggs were well seasoned and fluffy (get these!) and HK milk tea was well balanced too. At $100 HKD for 2 sets, the amount of food we got was well worth the price. Definitely not a place to loiter though, and be prepared to share a table.

Vanesa V.

Yelp
The eggs and bread here are so tasty! I could eat the eggs with toast here everyday. My kids who are picky eaters loved having breakfast here. They also really liked the macaroni noodle soup. There as always a line when we went but the line moves super fast. I can't read Chinese so thankfully they had an English menu for foreigners.

Robert W.

Yelp
This iconic cha chaan Teng is a must try on all the food blogs. However I thought it was just average. There was a long line but moved relatively quickly. Staff are very curt and impatient. We tried their iconic steamed egg pudding as well as the almond variety. Also tried the French toast. Steamed egg pudding was good but not sure worth the price which is relatively expensive comparatively. The French toast was fried but not filled with peanut butter nor topped with condensed milk. It seems to continue to be an iconic venue, but I'm pretty sure I'm not coming back.

Yelp
Famous super quick cafe in HK Kowloon Jordan area!! Just ordered sandwiches eggs n hams, and ice lemon coke!!! Quick bit in 10-15 mins!!! This's kind of the famous point in the world that people are so curious to come!! Super busy still!! Used to have the worst customer services!! But changing generation of ownerships, it's getting better, at least cashiers saying Thanks!! PS. This is a half century Australia Daily cafe in HK, they served excellent milk products foods and desserts of eggs with ginger milks with almond!!

Edward Y.

Yelp
First off - this is not five star dining. However what they do make is worthy of five stars and here's why. Party of 7 came here last night to experience one thing only, their infamous egg flavored soups. Order it hot and with sugar just the way they prepare it. It's not just the speed with which they bring out you order (literally for us was about 2 minutes after ordering our first two bowls) but it's how they've gotten their preparation of this down to a science that it borders on art. Our table was seated right next to the primary chef who prepares each of them personally and I got a glimpse into how it works. The chef has a two-stage set up with 2 different height Bao steaming racks. The first steaming rack is literally one steaming rack high and it's used to give the first stage high heat needed to cook the egg soup just enough to just barely harden it's consistency (about 2 minutes). The chef has done this so many times that he literally doesn't use a watch or clock and just knows how long to cook each one. He kinda meditates between EACH one that he makes in the Bao steaming racks. It should be noted that I did not see him actually make more than two bowls at a time in the steaming racks - even though there is space to accommodate more than one bowl. He literally cooked one at a time to order. Upon the ~2 minute mark he then transfers it to a second Bao steaming rack (-5 racks high) where it then steams for about another -2 minutes at slightly lower steam temperature levels to allow the egg soup to complete its cooking without hardening its overall consistency. The result is an egg soup consistency which is simple yet fiendishly difficult to replicate unless you've made thousands to refine your consistency (which clearly our chef had). It was delicious yet sublime. I plan getting one more before we leave Hong Kong.

Gordon S.

Yelp
one of Hong Kong's iconic diner. speed and quality. don't expect to get your own table, it's wherever there's space, they'll fit you in. order quickly, eat quickly and then free up for the next customer. i don't consider the waiters were rude, just that they are quite blunt and wanted to finish things fast. now back to the food. it is served quick when you order the set meals. ham macaroni, scrambled eggs with toast, then a hot drink (surcharge for cold drink). coffee or half and half coffee/tea (yinyang) is another item anyone come must try

Jeanie L.

Yelp
I heard about this restaurant and wanted to come experience it myself. We got lucky and did not have to wait at all before getting seated. They gave us a table all the way in the back which was honestly a good thing to me because I felt like they did not pay attention to us much which means we were able to sit for a little longer to enjoy our drinks after finishing our food. Their service is crazy fast. We were ordering and they were already placing the macaroni soup on our table. The macaroni soup is a staple breakfast food and just hits the spot. We also ordered the eggs and toast. The eggs were so fluffy and creamy. Overall, the whole experience was a lot of fun and makes me want to come back again.

tina h.

Yelp
Trekking through a light drizzle we landed at Australia Diary Company for some comfort food. We were fortunate to come during off hours so no wait and got seated at the booth for 4. English menu is available upon request and be prepared for cozy seating. Ask for recommendations if you don't know what to get and if you're hungry don't fret, the food comes out in minutes! The puddings were my favorite. So silky...so smooth and just so slightly sweet... perfect for an asian mom palate. The macoroni had a good saltiness favor with a nice bite. Best part of the sandwich was the bread, it was slightly toasted with a bouncy texture. Lastly, it's cash only!

Daniel C.

Yelp
Australia Dairy Company is one of those restaurants that you gotta visit at least once. I feel like I've dined here with my family a lifetime ago. This trip I included it in our itinerary so we could go with Mink to make a new memory. I took my family for breakfast here on the first day we were in Hong Kong. We got there early so we didn't have to wait long to get a table. Even if there is a long line, it moves fast. People come here to eat then go. It is cramped inside and quite loud but that's just part of the dining experience here. Our server wasn't super nice and was trying to rush us to order when we first got there. I suppose this is one way to get people in and out as soon as possible. The funny thing is when I started speaking Chinese to her, she became my BFF all of a sudden. Didn't rush me too much and even tried to joke around with me. We all ended up ordering the same Breakfast Set. It came with Macaroni in Chicken Soup with Ham, Toast with Butter, Scrambled Eggs and Milk Tea. It brought back memories. This isn't phenomenal but it's nostalgic and we really enjoyed the toast and eggs. Legit spot and a restaurant not to miss in Hong Kong.

Olivia S.

Yelp
It doesn't get more classic than Australia Dairy Co. Whether you choose macaroni with ham or eggs on toast, these are all Cantonese comfort foods you'll enjoy at this cha chaan teng. Don't forget to order the HK style milk tea! And like any other cha chaan teng, this is a no frills joint. Cash only & the lines on weekends can get ridic so I'd recommend coming early.

Michele T.

Yelp
There was a long line when we arrived, but it moved quickly and the 4 of us were seated after waiting for about 20 minutes. Once we placed our orders, they arrived within minutes. I ordered the egg and cheese sandwich ($26). Sis ordered the corned beef and egg sandwich ($26). Dad ordered the ham and egg sandwich ($26). Mom ordered the Breakfast set - toast with scrambled eggs, macaroni soup, and milk tea ($48). Toasting the bread is an additional $2. I'm not a big egg person, but I must admit these eggs were good - fluffy and wet and so good with the toasted bread. I really enjoyed my sandwich, and everyone else enjoyed their orders as well. We also each ordered the almond egg custard - so silky smooth and yummy! Everything is so simple but so good. For me, it was definitely worth the hype.

Sandy L.

Yelp
If you are looking for a fast food place; this is one. The food came within a minute. Lol!!! The reason why I came here is because this is one of my childhood foods. My mom usually took my brothers and I here. I loved everything about this place when I was young, but now I don't. The milk pudding is way too sweet. For the egg and ham macaroni, the egg has too much oil and the premade macaroni has no texture at all. The egg and ham toast has too much oil in the egg and too much butter on the toast. The only thing I like is the milk. It's tastes rich and creamy. Will I come back? Yes, but for the milk only :) This place is very crowded. The staff is pretty friendly, but rushes you. :)

Linda L.

Yelp
Probably some of the fastest dining experience I've ever had lol We visited around 4:30pm on a weekday and the place was packed, but lucky no lines. They literally sat us down at a table where the person hasn't even finished eating and paying yet Everything felt very rushed and we were definitely pressured to order right away, eat without talking much, pay and get out They're famous for the milk pudding which was really good with the silky smooth texture. The other HK cafe staples were alright too and came within 3mins of ordering I would recommend going for the experience but don't come here expecting great service or dining environment

Angela L.

Yelp
Super fast service. Creamy fluffy eggs with perfectly toasted milk toast. The macaroni soup with ham is hearty and feels like a warm hug. The line is intimidating but it does really move fast. Also!! Order the almond milk pudding and egg pudding!! It's so smooth and silky. Tastes really good hot.

Matthew W.

Yelp
Iconic restaurant chain in HK. Very long lines that go by quite quickly. You should decide what you want to eat before you enter, and all of the menus inside are in Chinese. It's not a place to loiter after you eat, as in typical Hong Kong fashion, they're incredibly efficient and speedy and may indirectly pressure you to leave once you're done eating. Smaller groups will need to share tables with others, so if you're a 4 person group, I'd wait for a 4 person table. It's incredibly crowded, noisy, and chaotic inside, but the staff is kind and friendly, albeit rushed (though I've heard this opinion isn't the norm). I'd recommend the milk tea with the macaroni soup and buttered toast set. But my favorites are the steamed milk custard and French toast, and anything with egg. The food itself is probably the best I've had in HK. 9.5/10 easily. Be aware that they're called a "Dairy" company for a reason, so if you're lactose like me, make sure to take Lactaid. Lastly, you're limited in how much you can order based on table space, so finish your food and then order more. Definitely would return for the food, even if the interior dining is quite an experience. They take cash only.

Calvin H.

Yelp
Service is going to be pushy and rude and not especially accommodating if you don't speak Cantonese. They do have an English menu if you ask for it. But either way they're going to want you to be ready to order within 2 minutes of sitting down. The menu itself is fairly limited so the food will come out super fast. After which, they will also expect you to finish eating, pay at the front and get out super fast. If you aren't done in 10 minutes, they start coming by and staring at you to get the point across. As long as you know all of this and are ok with it going in, the food is worth the mental abuse. All the food is pretty much Hong Kong style breakfast food. There's noodle/macaroni soups, the wet Hong Kong style scrambled eggs, toast, etc. Pretty much everything is a variation of this. You can choose your protein for everything and you can choose whether to have the eggs and toast in sandwich form or deconstructed. None of the food is fancy but it's definitely good comfort food. Be sure to also order the bowl of custard for dessert. There's egg with almond flavor or white milk. I personally like the milk one more.

Jamie K.

Yelp
Classic canto breakfast with a hopping ambiance. Service is lightning fast and they work like a machine -- be prepared with your order when they come to you! Fluffy bread, perfectly cooked eggs, and classic macaroni for breakfast. Go early to avoid queues

Maruko X.

Yelp
Ambiance: it's crowded inside and long waiting line outside Service: very fast and the servers helped you with ordering quickly Food: numerous items on the menu Steamed Egg Pudding with Egg White - *** the classic egg pudding, smooth texture but overly sweet Price: inexpensive, most food costs less than HKD 50

Monica H.

Yelp
I visited twice on my trip because their scrambled eggs and milk tea are amazing. I tried the steamed egg custard and steamed milk and prefer the steamed egg. They run their operations like a well oiled machine and are incredibly efficient. This isn't a place for chilling; you get seated (might need to share table with others), order, eat, take the pay slip up to the cashier, pay, and leave. It's that simple. I didn't experience service issues like some people mentioned. They even gave me a stool for my backpack and told me to place it there to be more comfortable. I also heard one of the servers teaching someone how to order to make their meal cheaper while still getting what they want. I was there near closing time once and I heard them warning people that they close at 10 p.m. and they'll let you in if you acknowledge.

Roger P.

Yelp
Australia Dairy Company is a very popular cha chaan teng in Hong Kong, and potentially more popular with tourists than locals. Either way, I didn't want to wait in lines so we came right when it opened. There must have been a line even before they opened because the entire place was already full! One of the main things I was nervous about was the fast service. So fast that others will claim that servers are rude and blunt. Luckily, our server was really nice and even had time to come check-in on us. She had an English menu ready for us but it's definitely not their entire menu. If you can read Chinese, there's a large menu posted on the walls at each booth. I ordered the Breakfast set with scrambled eggs, macaroni with ham in chicken soup, and a cold milk tea. Cold drinks cost a little extra! I guess they're just constantly making the same things because the food was instantly brought to the table. I highly recommend the scrambled eggs. These were some of the silkiest, creamiest scrambled eggs I have ever had! So good with the buttered toast and if you grew up eating sugar on your buttered toast, well there's a jar of sugar at each table. There were a couple of things that I wanted to try but didn't see on their English menu so I got too nervous to ask about it. At the end, another server handed us a piece of paper with the price of our meal and you take that to the front to pay. Cash only! The entire experience took 20 minutes from being seated to paying! So if there's a long line, it'll probably move really fast. Also, if you're a small group, you'll most likely share the table with strangers.

Yelp
The egg puddings both hot and cold were fantastic. The toast with butter, toast with eggs and macaroni soup with BBQ pork was okay. I can see how this is comfort food for locals who want quick and simple food. It is worth trying for the first time as a tourist and I would recommend to enjoy it as a snack rather than a full meal. The table and seating are tiny, service is lightening quick and be prepared to pay with cash.

Yelp
People may think that their service is rude, but I find it the opposite. I have never had any problems with their service. They are just quick and efficient. Food comes quick. When you are done eating, they start clearing your table to keep things moving. They never actually tell you to leave or say anything rude to you to order or eat faster. I actually give them a lot of respect for running such a smooth operation. Businesses that are this busy shouldn't have unaware customers occupying their tables too long. The food is what it is. You can get eggs, toast, and macaroni at many places but come here for the steamed milk and steamed egg. Since they are so busy, the steamed dairy products are always fresh and dependable which is hard to do.

Yelp
The food is great and the prices are reasonable (the French toast was my favorite). Would I come during busy hours to eat it - no. Would I come off-peak (like 2pm) on a weekday - absolutely. Service was quick and friendly, and we weren't rushed to get out because we didn't come at a busy time. I don't think I will go out of my way to come here, but if it's in the hood while I'm out and about, definitely. FYI - you'll need to ask for the menu in English if you can't read Chinese (the menu will also have pictures).

Yelp
This was on the list to try when coming to Hk. Your typical Cha Chan Tang so don't expect high quality service because this is one of those places where you're here for the food. Expect a line when coming and important thing to note is that you won't get your own table. It'll be cramped and loud. You'll be seated with strangers as they want you in and out. I ordered the Ham and Macaroni soup and boyfriend got the club sandwich. Macaroni soup was alright. Very simple but filling. Their club sandwich was solid. Bread was light, soft, and had a nice crunch. Milk tea is your usual hk style milk tea. Strong tea taste that's milky and rich.

Yelp
Today was just a short ten minute wait before we were seated at a shared table. The place was packed around 8 am. Lots of locals and a small number of tourists. We were given the English menu and then quickly placed our order. The creamy egg sandwich was tasty and just as I remembered it from earlier this year. The egg white pudding was light and better tasting than the almond version. It did take a little longer to get the hot version but it was worth it.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant because the reviews were good. We stayed in line waiting for table when I saw a waiter at the restaurant yelled at a customer for putting her baby stroller on a different location than what he wanted. I don't understand why people keep coming to this restaurant with such terrible service. In my opinion, it's not worth it. We left afterwards.

Yelp
Tasty fast food spot. Very busy bustling vibe. Service is fast with food arriving quickly. Reasonably priced.

Yelp
I went here in the autumn , and I ordered the egg think and milk pudding . I walked in and the workers are very hard working they are fast service but I think that's only because they don't put ANY hardworking in it. the egg was not even cooked, and was not edible. the milk pudding was not even pudding and was milk. just milk. take the pudding off the name please. it was the most sloppiest thing I've seen. I told the worker and the workers. just said "guess what I don't care" then smiled at me. what is this place?????

Yelp
Classic cha chaan teng (HK Cafe) waiters aren't necessarily rude but are just trying to be efficient; just eat and go. Be prepared to potentially sit next to a stranger. The HK milk tea is amazing, and the double skin milk is very creamy and sweet. Macaroni soup is a classic HK cafe dish, but not necessarily my favorite, though it's not bad. The best thing here is their eggs; I HIGHLY recommend getting the eggs--they are amazing! (Amazing is an understatement.)

Yelp
12/6/2023 Dinner 7:30pm. Luckily there's no wait when we got there. It's been on my to go list as this place was made popular by the wait staff attitude HK style that I wanted to experience. This place is small as like many other local eateries in HK. If you are claustrophobic, this is not the place for you. Small tables and small chairs. You will most likely be sharing table with other customers as well. This eatery serves HK cafe breakfast all day. As soon as we sat down, the wait staff placed two plastic cup of tea on the table and was ready to take our orders. I ended with the set menu (scrabbled eggs, ham and toasts + macaroni with beef) and my companion had the same set menu with variation of fried eggs instead of scrabbled and char siu bbq pork instead of beef. I was wondering about my drinks and was told they will take the drink order close to end of meal, although not sure the reason why. The scrabbled egg was indeed fluffy and creamy as many claimed. I put together my own ham and egg sandwich and liked it. The beef on the other hand was so so and I left behind most of it and just finished the macaroni. The wait staff couldn't wait to take away any empty plates, in fact any plate and bowl that "looked" like you are finished they will take away. I didn't find it offensive as I expected it and felt rather comical and laughed about it. We also ordered the steamed egg custard. As I can't decide which dessert to order (steamed egg white or egg custard) I asked the waiter and he was very friendly with my question and had a good interaction. Overall, this place is an establishment in HK and if you want to experience local HK cuisine and have time, just go try it.

Yelp
This place really lives up to the hype. The service is super quick, the scrambled eggs are as creamy as they look, and is frequented by locals. Your seated with total strangers to maximize space and the energy, hustle, and bustle of the waitstaff encourage you to really focus on eating. The almond flavored egg custard was fantastic, smooth and very refreshing cold. The whole experience was a lot of fun and five minutes after leaving I wanted to return for second breakfast! Get there early to avoid the lines, they also open slightly before 730.
